In Shae Sullivan’s Protected by her Mountain Men, readers are introduced to three dynamic characters—Alexandra “Lexi” Taylor and Elijah Brookingdale and Carson Juke—in this age-play romantic suspense. On her 18th birthday, Lexi, while partying with her cousin Molly, was abducted, and held captive for eight years by a gang of men, led by a guy name Zig, who made and promoted illegal underground violent, abusive videos. Elijah owns and runs a logging company but spends his time in the mountains. Carson is a rookie deputy sheriff. Destiny brings these three together. Lexi meets Carson when he searches the transport truck giving her an opportunity escape into the nearby woods. Something about Lexi tugs at Carson’s protective streak. Her flight leads her into the arms of Elijah. Even though Elijah is a recluse, Lexi activates his protective streak. Lexi sees these two as her guardian and feels safe in their care. However, her captors escaped from the authorities and are looking for her. Will they find her? Can her guardians keep her safe? What will become of their relationship? You must read this book to discover their journey.
Ms. Sullivan does a amazing job with this romantic suspense. Her descriptive scenes draw readers into the story making it seem as if they are first-hand witnesses. For example, the scenes wherein gang members beat their captives are so realistic and together with the physical conditions of these captured women are kept tugs at readers heartstrings. Additionally, I find her writing style easy to follow and her main characters are quite likeable. She interjects suspense through her antagonist, Zig, the leader, and mastermind of his gang posing as a cult. Although the content is dark overall this was a captivating read.

Intriguing, suspenseful and highly emotional
Protected by Her Mountain Men by Shae Sullivan is a fast paced romance with suspense and absolutely emotional as Lexi heals from trauma and tragedy. Her Mountain Men were fantastic too. Carson is sweet and gentle yet totally alpha and Elijah is alpha to the core and yet super sweet with Lexi. These characters really compliment each other very well.
The plot is dramatic and suspenseful when kept me engaged to the very end with a really sweet HEA.

Good intense story
No one likes abuse and that is what Lexie endures until Elijah and Carson help her heal. Overall quality of writing was good but definitely needs a better proofreader! Proofreading can make or break a story. The story line is intense filled with drama and also some tastefully done steamy intimacy scenes. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after. Enjoy.

Words, I need to find words! Holy, holy hot! Great story of intsa-love. All main characters stood out in their own way. They face various temptations and danger, and many twists and turns along the way. Why have one lover when you can have more? Why have one soul mate when you can have multi? This book is sweet while being Scorching hot at the same time.

Spell Check!!!! 🤨
While this is a good story, and resolved what happened to Molly’s cousin from the first book, there were numerous spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Some words in the sentences didn’t even make sense! Ugh! I am just glad I didn’t pay for the book, but borrowed it from kindle unlimited.

Good story, too many spelling errors
I liked the story, but it really needs to be edited better. There are more spelling and grammatical errors then there should be, and for me they ruined it.

Kidnapped and tortured by her abductors for 8 years, escaping and running into the arms of a stranger. Falling in love with two men whilst trying to seduce them. The drama just snowballs after that!

Shae Sullivan is a fantastic story writer! Interesting how she brings two different types of men together to love one woman. And has some mystery to all the characters so you just have to keep reading to find out more.

Great book!!
Fantastic book. It started with history, moved to present so you knew what was going on. Sure a little mystery is good but when it skips over important info then there is a problem. Some errors here and there but all in all a great read
