It’s Not My Head…was brilliant! I have learned so much over 200 pages on hormones, what they do, where they’re made (it’s not always where you think) and how they impact on our daily lives. I feel armed with information on how to manage my cycle and what to do if I’m not feeling myself.

It’s written in “lay-English” so I was able to follow everything and only paused to look up things because I wanted to know more. I didn’t need to Google terms because it was all explained in the book.

It’s not just geared to those going through the menopause, it’s also great for people who have a menstrual cycle and want to know what’s going on in their bodies.

I have annotated my copy and will be referring back to my notes, especially when I pick up “How the Pill Changes Everything” by Dr Sarah E. Hill.

Fab non-fiction read 😃

How to combat the hormonal imbalance that is hijacking your mood, confidence and mental health.
Too often women know only a little about how the complex system that controls their bodies works. This book will directly link hormones and mood with mental health for the first time. Marion explores this link at each stage of a woman’s life, from puberty to post-menopause and uncovers the light and dark side of our hormones. She delves into specific conditions that can affect mental wellbeing: premenstrual tension, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and postpartum depression. She looks at how these interact with mood, affect our day-to-day lives and how they can be treated hormonally, before reviewing all of the options available to women from contraception to bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Dr Gluck gives you all the key information needed to find optimum solutions to hormonal issues, and leaves you confident in where you want to head for a healthy and balanced future. After reading IT’S NOT MY HEAD, IT’S MY HORMONES, you will be empowered to take back control of your body. Rather than interfering in your pursuit of happiness, your hormones will instead become your best friends for life.

This book was fascinating.

I was a little worried going into this book, simply because it is written by a Doctor. I was concerned that it would be hard to read. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The language in this book is simple and very easy to follow. Which is great, as I actually learnt a lot from reading this book.

I loved learning about how I can help my hormone health and how to track my hormones and become more in tune with my mind and body. With great tips and ways in which you can change you daily life to support your hormones.

Dr Marion Gluck does a great job in teaching you how to optimise your hormone health and support your body, giving you the tools you need to stay well-balanced, energetic and happy.
I honestly think there is something that everyone can take away from this book.

It’s Not My Head, It’s My Hormones by BHRT pioneer Dr Marion Gluck is an essential read for every woman.

Really insightful

For someone who is a pharmacist but who doesn't like to see people on so many medications if things can get solved with lifestyle and good supplements, specially the topic of hormones calls me , because I am scared of synthetic hormone replacement and the amount of women on them who don't know all the cons.
This book has opened my mind

Had some interesting tidbits, but nothing that was that new to me! It still left me with lots of questions that I felt like should have been answered, for example she talks a lot about biologically identical hormones but I don’t remember her ever actually explaining what that means LOL
