MELT continues to grow and devour, chomping its way through Manhattan - and beyond - as the survivors begin to realize what kind of world MELT is creating....
A new, intensely thrilling series, MELT has received unanimous praise from beta readers and early reviewers alike. Written by JJ Pike and Mike Kraus, MELT examines a part of our world that we often take for granted. Add in a dash of real science and a glimpse of what the future might hold in store and you're presented with the recipe for MELT: a frighteningly real post-apocalyptic thriller.
MELT is a novel-length series will be released on a monthly basis.
This rollercoaster ride has more loops and turns than Atlanta's freeway system! I did not want to put it down for anything. I am deeply invested in the characters and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.
Things are getting worse. MELT is spreading and acting in strange ways. It's possible it's can even be passed on by humans like a disease. Then there's people problems:
Michael wants into the lab investigating MELT but no one trusts him. A guy ends up in what is effectively a concentration camp where people dying from MELT are kept just to die while others, not dying, are just trying to survive. Bill is still out of it but at least he's alive. There's an ultra-rich guy with the mind and temper of a ten-year-old.
This is a short book, as has been the others. There was a little less action and more re-grouping. I was glad to see some people with Y-chromosomes get some quality story time, like Jim and Michael. I am all for strong female characters, often rare in this genre, but the previous book had very little positive contribution by men. They were about as useful as the adults in South Park. I really like Jim, who is a very decent guy even in the apocalypse. I hope the erratic billionaire is gone for good as he was a bit much.
Book five was just as satisfying to read as the first four. The suspense never stops and you can not believe what is just around the corner. Keep in reading, we are not there yet. The end is coming at this point you can't stop, you have to finish this great series.
You have done an excellent job of keeping the suspense moving. I really enjoyed the survivors that are still alive and trying to find a way to put an end to Melt. Can't wait for book 6 to get here.
I did my review each book separately i thought I would do the complete series. Absolutely brilliant edge of seat stuff i do hope there is another one to finish the story off.
Wow. What a disappointing read in a series with a potentially great plot line. Women are meant to be caregivers, having blonde highlights means you’re a “cheap” woman, and so many references to women’s bodies. Also, dogs are so dumb they can’t read human emotions? I’ve had enough.
