I didn’t think Nikki Lewen could possibly leave another huge cliffhanger, but she sure did!! This book does not disappoint. Return to Three Sisters is another wild ride that will leave you needing to start the third and final book to the trilogy right away! Sadie continues to be a total rockstar, having to fight for herself and others, while not losing her sense of humanity. She is learning to trust those she has allowed into her life and it’s a joy to see her heart begin to heal. Jose, Clara, Anna and Caleb continue to be the most amazing support team, proving to be just what Sadie needs to continue her fight for survival and to protect others. I didn’t think I could love the characters more than I did in the first book, but I do. There are some horrific scenes, that will leave you absolutely furious and disgusted. I found myself cheering for how Sadie handled those situations. There are those moments that you will be holding your breath, just praying for things to turn out ok. Sadie is fair and just, always looking for a way to make the world a better place for those that deserve it. We all could learn from the passion that drives her. This book has it all - an absolute must read. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

Sadie Larkin is the wonderful protagonist in this great trilogy. Through these novels, we follow Sadie as she survives and helps fellow survivors from the vicious Splitter Nation. With her cross bow and great determination to make the best new world possible, Sadie fights to conquer the evil President X and the Splitter Nation army.

Nikki Lewen has delivered three great books that will you rooting for a great heroine. Nikki's character development and writing is impeccable. From the first chapter to the last line in book three, you are left wanting more. I truly loved this series and I can’t wait to read more of Nikki's work.

Reading book one in this trilogy did not prepare me for book two – in a good way. Where book one’s pacing is slower and more meandering, with lots of backstory, but little action (until the very end) – book two starts off with a bang and never slows down. That said, the ending of book one really set up the start of book two very well. In Return to Three Sisters, there was no shortage of action or adventure in this second book of the trilogy and I’m looking forward to the third. While not much “happens” in a good portion of book one, it does a great job of setting up a background for us as we race through this story.

The author does a really great job of adding so much more depth to the characters we met in book one while adding so many additional faces. However, despite so many new names and characters in this installment, I never felt like I had “character fatigue.” I had no trouble keeping the characters straight because they’re all written with such distinct personalities. And the way we get to know each of them a little more here just made them all feel that much more real.

The self-awareness of some aspects of the story is also addressed really nicely by the author in part two of this story. There are some pieces of the story that don’t seem to line up and the fact that some of the characters start to question that made the questions in my head feel valid. By the middle of the story, I had so many questions about so many aspects, and I appreciate that the author managed to answer most of them within the character development.

The other thing the author does really well in this installment is a balance between the action sequences, the violence, and those more “mundane” moments. There’s plenty of scenes that keep the pace of the story moving forward, but then there’s also some really great tender and slower moments between the characters that help the reader catch their breath for a moment before jumping into the next adventure.

I really enjoyed book two of this trilogy and, thanks to the author’s excellent cliffhanger at the end, I can’t wait to start book three. If you like action, adventure, and intrigue in a post-apocalyptic world, Return to Three Sisters is a book you have to check out!

Return to Three Sisters by Nikki Lewen
5/5
Post-Apocalyptic/Dystopian Survival Thriller
Trigger Warnings: Gore, Rape
Once again Nikki Lewen has left us with a cliffhanger we didn’t expect and left the reader wanting more. The storytelling has Sadie, the strong female main character, leading a crew in hopes to save those who are unable to save themselves. Sadie continues to surprise the reader with how resourceful, how calm under pressure and how resilient she can be.
At the end of Three Sisters: A Tale of Survival (Book One), we were left on a cliffhanger with Sadie Larkin’s life hanging in the balance after being wounded during an attempt to save the lives of others once again. Sadie continues to fight for the survival and protection of her new family and to help others along the way. Sadie has discovered that there are more survives out in the new world than she realized and does her best to assist them with the supplies that she has available.
With the assistance of newly acquired ships and her crew, Sadie sets out to rid the world of the evil of the Splitters and set the inhabitants of the Isle of Big Sur free from their control. On the Isle of Big Sur, Sadie must face one of the fiercest adversaries yet, the Commander and the Mighty 9. Will Sadie, Caleb and her crew prevail and once again protect those they care about and those who cannot protect themselves? Or will evil take hold on the Isle of Big Sur?

The epic adventure continues!!

Another adventure with Miss Sadie at the helm. Sadie is quite possibly my favourite literary character. Her bravery, strength, compassion, kindness, resilience, and abilities to lead and forgive and teach are breathtaking.
Sadie's story continues in this spellbinding, epic, post apocalyptic, drama. The setting is rugged and beautiful. The plot is winding and filled with action and nail biting moments.
It's the end of the world but it's filled with hope, faith, and an uncanny motivation to not only survive but thrive.
As much as I'm absolutely loving the story itself, my favourite part, hands down, are the characters. Nikki has created such unique and compelling characters to join and help Sadie in her quest to defeat the The Splitter Nation. It's been a wild ride and I can't wait to five into the third book, but also a little hesitant to continue because I think I'm going to be lost without Sadie and her ever growing family!

A Survivor And Savior

Sadie's story continues as she sets out to continue what her father started. With some new friends and new purposes, Sadie, who went from lone survivor to friend, is now a savior as she makes it her mission to find a way to sustain more people on Three Sisters.

Sadie isn't one to give up, and she's a true problem solver. Every issue that pops up, she finds a way to fix it. Between close calls and heartbreaking moments, Sadie's story continues in this installment. Her sheer determination to help everyone she can and her resilience and perseverance are admirable. She's a natural born leader, and her story isn't over yet.

This was an OK sequel to the first. I was not as crazy about the non-stop action description and wished there was more dialogue and character building. The main character feels a like a Mary Sue and it makes the book not as interesting as the first. Also the MMC is so annoying to me (but that is a personal problem lol). However it is such an interesting plot it kept me reading it and I plan to finish the trilogy!

I think I understand what the author meant to say with "this trilogy is made for the screen". The second book is full of action, which I found a little excessive, but that's just my personal opinion. Despite that, the sequel improved and I couldn't put it down, finishing it in just one day. I can't wait to see what comes next.

GREAT STORTYTELLER

The authors is a riveting storyteller. The plot and fast pace action keeps you tied to the novel. You cannot put the novel down as the story unfolds with it's twists and turns! Cannot wait for the authors final novel in this trilogy.

The three sisters island is a sanctuary for many more during this continuation of their story. The story follows Sadie as she discovers more of her destiny and the trials she will have to go through to save the colony.

Excellent story. Exciting, gripping. I love the main characters, but find the others not well developed. Good on ya Ms. Lewis
