The Black Hornets MC was a box set of the six book series by Savannah Rylan. Although the series was a spin off from Rylan’s Dead Souls MC series, it can be read as a stand-alone; however, the series itself should be read in order. My review consists of a rating and brief comments for each book and then an overall rating and summary for the series.
Rylan set the stage for the MC and the series within the first book, Jace. The MC was known as Guns for Hire. They were the good guys and the go to for protection against the bad guys. They were the best and they were highly compensated for their services.
Jace: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jace was the VP of the Black Hornets MC. He was also a professed player when it came to women. The king of the one night stands, but never anything more. Leti was in deep. She was being manipulated by the Rojas Diablos Cartel in an attempt to save her younger brother, who was kidnapped by the Cartel. As expected, when the two met sparks ignited and the story began. I loved both characters. I also loved the suspenseful vibe of the storyline. Although it was a quick read, it was developed well and intriguing.
Maverick: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maverick was the second book in the series and it picked up immediately where book one left off. Maverick was the Treasurer of the MC. He was the numbers guy as well as the typical love ‘em and leave ‘em profile. He was also a loyal and protective alpha for those he considered family. Gabriela was being groomed to take over the family business. Her entire life had focused around this one goal. She was a daddy’s girl and she would do anything for her father’s approval. Little did she know how far she would have to go.
I liked both characters, the suspenseful plot and the manner in which Rylan unraveled their stories. And although enjoyable, it was a little rushed for me. I wanted a little more development and details. With that said, it was a solid storyline and a great bridge for continuing the series.
Duke: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Duke was the third book in the series. Duke and Eden were high school sweethearts the entire four years until Eden ghosted him after graduation and he never saw or heard from her again. Until now, eleven years later, when his daughter showed up on his doorstep.
Duke began exactly where book two left off. The MC conflict that began in book one was continuing as the main thread throughout Duke as well. Rylan also introduced Eden and gave us the backstory between Duke and Eden and brought us into the present. Rylan also threw in a twist or two which set the stage for the next book, Colt. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspenseful storyline but the book seemed unfinished and merely a chapter in the much larger story.
Colt: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Colt was the fourth book in the series. Colt was the Road Captain for the MC. He was the planner. We learned in the previous book some of his secrets and they carried over into his book as well. Olivia was the DEA agent assigned to bring down the Cartel in Redding. And her best bet was through Colt and the Black Hornets.
Colt picked up where book three, Duke, left off. Rylan took us through some of the chaos from the previous book and continued the suspenseful thread between the Cartel and the Black Hornets through the entire storyline. She also weaved in the alliance between Colt and Olivia as well as their attraction. And as expected, another cliff hanger took us directly into the next book. Although I enjoyed the suspenseful storyline, it still read as a chapter within a bigger story.
Thor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thor was the fifth book in the series. Thor was the hulk of the MC. He was massive, quiet and deadly. Willow was a former FBI agent and Olivia’s best friend (book four). She was fierce, sassy and independent.
Thor picked up where book four, Colt, left off. The main suspenseful MC plot continued from the previous books as the main focus of the storyline. Simultaneously, Rylan provided Thor and Willow’s introduction and development. I loved Willow’s strength but I wasn’t a big fan of her personality, but as Rylan showed us, she had her reasons. True to the series this far, the book served as a bridge to the main MC conflict, which ended with another cliff hanger.
Jagger: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jagger was the sixth and final book. Jagger was a prospect within the MC. His childhood was a tragic experience. Mari was the daughter of a criminal. At eighteen she chose to walk away for a better life. Now, years later, she was forced back into his life.
Jagger picked up exactly where book five, Thor, left off. The suspenseful MC plot carried over and was brought to a conclusion in the end. In the meantime, Rylan introduced Jagger and Mari. They both held a perspective that very few could understand - a childhood with a monster as a father. Although I loved the suspenseful plot throughout the series, I wanted more at the end. It concluded a little too abruptly for me and I wanted to see a little further into the future.
Overall Summary: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed reading them back to back. In totality, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. The suspenseful plot carried over from the first to the last and was what kept me hooked and turning the pages quickly. Each book focused on the relationship development for that book while simultaneously working through an MC conflict with the Rojas Diablos Cartel. The conflict began in book one and progressed forward through each book with cliff hangers in between each and a final conclusion in the last book of the series. It’s what made it a worthwhile read.
As to the individual books, the relationships felt rushed and I wanted more. More depth, more detail and more happiness beyond the “happy for now” scenarios. An updated novella securing their future would be awesome! Additionally, there were numerous editing errors throughout the entire series. Most were either incorrect or missing words and were distracting at times. For these reasons, my scores for the individual books were ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for each; but if read as one book within the box set, my rating was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Therefore, I recommend reading the box set as one for full enjoyment.

This box set is about the Black Hornet MC. This set includes the books, Jace, Maverick, Duke, Colt, Thor and Jagger.
Jace- This is the first book in the Black Hornets MC series. The Black Hornets are known for being muscle for hire and being bodyguards. When Leti goes into the bar looking for the Black Hornets help, she meets Jace. Jace listens to Leti's story about being a drug mule for the cartel against her will in hopes of saving her brother and decides the MC has to help her. Jace tells Dean, the president, about the cartel trying to move drugs in their territory again and they decide to stop them. Jace takes Leti back to his house to protect her and they both know their attractions to each other are going to be impossible to fight.
Maverick- Maverick and the rest of the MC are getting ready for a war with the cartel. Gabby works for her father gathering information for the family business. Gabby's father asks her to get information about the Black Hornets MC, and Gabby decides she has to go undercover to see if she can get close enough to learn more. Maverick sees Gabby and he wants her. Gabby thinks she can use Maverick to get information, but she is attracted to him and he makes her laugh. Gabby and Maverick spend time flirting and laughing throughout the night and when Maverick suggests Gabby go for a ride, she goes. Gabby doesn't know her family works for the cartel and she thinks the MC are the bad guys who want to hurt her family. The more Gabby learns about Maverick and the MC, the more she questions what she was told.
Duke- In this book, the Black Hornets are still trying to track down who is working for the cartel and get ready for war. Duke has been a member since he graduated from high school 11 years before and he is best friends with Colt. Duke hasn't had a relationship since he was in high school and the girl he dated left him without a word and broke his heart. When Duke was home one night, his doorbell rang and a young girl was there saying she was his daughter. One look at Sierra, and Duke knew she was his, and his high school girlfriend Eden didn't tell him about her. When Eden learned Sierra went looking for Duke, she followed after her. Duke was angry at first about his daughter and wanted answers. Eden said she would tell him when she was ready. When Eden returned to town, she saw Colt, who had his own connection to Eden, and when Duke found them together, everything he thought he knew changed and he was left with even more questions. Add in the danger of the cartel and it made for a great read.
Colt- In this book, we pick up after the shootout with the cartel and Colt trying to get away. Colt finds an injured Maverick and hides him from the police and tries to get away. Colt is arrested and thrown in jail, but he hasn't been charged with anything. After being held for a few days, Colt learns a police officer was killed in the shootout and the local sheriff wants to pin it on him. Colt is interviewed by Olivia, a DEA agent who is investigating the cartel. Olivia has history with MCs and know there is more to learn about Colt's club. Olivia doesn't think Colt is guilty or any of his club killed the officer. Olivia makes a deal with Colt about trading information they have on the cartel in order to capture the leader. Colt is released from jail and he goes to the club and tells them about Olivia's deal. Dean, the president of the MC, is furious and the other club members worry Dean is losing it. Colt and Olivia grow closer as they try to learn to trust each other. Soon their attraction to one another is more than they can stop and they act on their feelings, but can they really trust each other?
Thor- In this book, we pick up with Colt dealing with threats to Liv and asking Thor to protect her. Thor thinks he owes Colt because he helped him when he suffered a loss and brought him back into the MC after taking a leave. Thor agrees to protect Liv but is shocked to find Liv is not alone when he goes to her. Liv called her best friend, a former FBI agent named Willow who now works as a security expert and computer hacker. When Willow arrives, she knows she has to get Liv to another hotel where she can watch her better. When Colt and Thor show up, Willow attacks them and almost wins against them, but Liv tells her to stop because they are with her. Willow doesn't think Thor is needed and she thinks she can protect LIv by herself. After being cooped up at the hotel with Thor all week, Willow and Liv escape and go for a drink. When Thor finds them, he wants to put Willow in her place and leave Liv for Colt to deal with. The cartel learn Willow is there protecting Liv and a target is placed on her too. Thor vows to protect Willow and is starting to have feelings for her. Willow likes Thor and thinks it is a fling until things are solved and she returns to DC. When Willow is kidnapped, Thor will stop at nothing to get her back. Colt is also dealing with Dean, the president of the MC, who is acting irrational and putting everyone in more danger.
Jagger- In this book, we start with the explosion at the club house of the MC and Jagger has just warned everyone about the bomb. Jagger is a prospect for the MC and was outside washing everyone's bike. When he noticed the delivery van, he was suspicious and watched the van go to the barn where they were keeping Diego, the head of the cartel. When the cartel took Diego, the MC knew they had to find him to return him to prison. When Jagger learned Diego had a daughter no one knew about, he thought she would know where her father was. Mari had cut off contact with her father five years ago and now she was working at a dentist office and had bought a townhouse. When Diego landed on her doorstep, she was shocked to see him and that he wanted to stay with her. Mari hated her father, but she still loved him because he was her father. When Jagger approached Mari to ask for help turning her father into the police, she was unsure if she could. Jagger took Mari to his cabin in the woods and talked to her about his childhood and made her understand he knew how she felt. Mari and Jagger shared a connection and an attraction to one another, but Mari was still scared to turn her father in. When Diego had some of the cartel at Mari's house when she returned, she knew she had to help Jagger. Jagger felt something for Mari and he wanted to protect her, he had never felt for someone before, but he knew he had to be with her.
This was a very good series with lots of action and heat between the men of the MC and their ladies. I couldn't wait to read each book and was sad to see the series end.

Savannah Rylan is a master at the MC genre and this is a great way to catch up with all the guys from Th Black Hornets I have reviewed each book separately below
JACE
Jace used to be a paramedic but decided to join the Black Hornets so he could help people before they were in danger The Back hornets try to keep the town of Redding safe and free from drugs Leti is in a bad place the cartel has kidnapped her brother and are forcing her to transport drugs and she has had no proof of life for months. But when Eden and Duke reconnect, will everyone be happy? Can they make everything work and get passed their issues?
Colt - Colt's story starts where Duke's stopped. After the mess, Colt finds himself in jail. But when he hasn't been released or booked, he uses his call to see what the MC can do about getting him free. Will it work? Olivia works for the DEA and has been assigned to take out the cartel, but when she gets into town, she meets Colt and hears what evidence the sheriff has on him and decides he didn't do it and helps him get free, but at what cost to him or his MC?
Thor - Olivia is still being protected by the MC, but when Colt asks Thor to stay watch, Thor does just that. He can't let anything happen to family, even if she is a federal agent. She is Colt's ol' lady and duty calls. Thor is the silent giant and in this book in the series, we learn so much more about this gentle giant. But can he protect her and Willow at the same time? Willow used to be FBI but when things got bad and the FBI didn't want to help, she got a job in the civilian world. But when Olivia is in trouble, Willow immediately comes to save, protect and do whatever is necessary to assist her best friend. But when Willow learns of the MC, can she still help her friend? Will Thor see through her mask and take down her walls?

Maverick is the second story in the series and is about Maverick, the Black Hornets treasurer and Gabriela, the oldest daughter of a drug cartel kingpin. She is sent undercover to gather intel on the MC and places herself in the position to meet Maverick. But things aren't what they seem and Savannah Rylan is a master storyteller. There are many twists and turns in this book. It is intended for adults due to language and graphic sexual content. It is part of a series and the story will continue in the next book, DUKE.

The meeting between Thor and Willow is unusual and fun to read. This novel can be read as a stand-alone since the author provides enough background information in her writing. Savannah Rylan has delivered a suspenseful, adult romance with lots of action and steam. Thor is the latest book in The Black Hornets series and it ends with a bang!! All I can say is: Holy Guacamole!

However, things heat up when the premises is bombed and a prisoner escapes. This prisoner, Diego, is a drug cartel kingpin and Jagger traces him to Diego's daughter, Mari following his escape. As the situation spirals out of control, it will be up to Jagger to keep Mari safe and out of the hands of her father.
This story is tightly woven with suspenseful events leading up to a romantic interlude between the main characters. There is enough background that this book can be read as a stand-alone; however, for your best reading enjoyment I highly recommend reading this series in order.

But the Cartel doesn't let go of what belongs to them and now they want what's theirs. Can The Black Hornets and Jace save Leti and their town?
Another well-written story, wonderful captivating storyline. Loved the characters. Definitely recommend this book.

This is the second book in The Black Hornets MC series, we follow Maverick as he meets the sexy Gabby who catches his attention at first sight. But this woman is not who she seems but undercover to find info on the mc for her family.
The chemistry between Maverick and Gabby is sizzling and there is so much happening there is no way you can put the book down or get bored. Loving these alpha bikers.💓

But the MC still has drama raging on around them and a couple of secret gets revealed along the way. Loving this series, as usual it's well-written with wonderful spunky characters, action and intrigue with drama along the way.

This is the fourth book in The Black Hornets MC, we pick up where book three ends, as usual it's jam packed with plenty of action and drama, Colt is in jail and getting questioned by a DEA agent who he is instantly attracted to and the attraction is definitely mutual. But both have past secrets that are threatening to come out, and now that they both have Diego in their sights and things are heating up between them. Can they overcome the drama to have a future?
I'm absolutely loving these bad boys and their women who are amazingly strong and kick @ss. All the stories are well-written with storylines that are interesting with well thought out plots and the characters are definitely likable and well developed.
Thor

Great story! The first installment of The Black Hornet MC series is mesmerizing and intriguing. Savannah Rylan takes us on a great escape with her rough and tough biker saving a strong beautiful young woman in trouble.
It is a suspensful and steamy romance.
Maverick
Great read! Maverick is the second book in the Black Hornets MC Series. And it is just as good and exciting as the first one.
The Black Hornet MC is filled with rough and tough men with moral. And Maverick is the treasurer.
Duke
Captivating, suspensful and steamy! Savannah Rylan takes us on a great escape with her rough and tough men with moral and the strong women that loves them. And this is no exception. But the story about Duke is slso a beautiful second chance romance that gives both Duke and Colt a suprise of a lifetime.
Colt
Another deliscious and steamy MC romance by Savannah Rylan. This time it's all about Colt, his incarceration, his toughts about the President of the Black Hornet MC and of course the lovely and intelligent Olivia that gets under his skin.

Jace #1: This all about Jace and Leti, This has plenty action, emotions and Leti brother is kidnaped. That had me flipping to the next page to find out what will happen, They have chemistry that was off the charts.
Maverick #2: So this Maverick and Gabriel story. So the MC are still on the look out for any sign of the cartel, Maverick is the club Treasurer and Gabriel is the daughter of Rd corruption who is really high up in the cartel. They both have a instant connection plus theres plenty flirting and joke around with each one night that leads Gabriel going for a ride with him, OMG there plenty of twists and secrets that unfold for both of them.

ARC review for honest review.jace- Wow leti is trying to save her brother Nicholas from the Rojas Diablo cartel in Mexico and so became a mule for them but when on a run she sees the black hornets mc she asks jace vic President for help. since they are guns for hire. Awesome story 10 stars maverick -Maverick rides with the black hornets mc their still on the lookout about the cartel . Gabriel is the daughter of Rd corruption but is part of the Rojas Diablo cartel . This is a awesome 10 star story duke-Wow 10 stars of great writing duke is best friends with colt and both are black hornets, but when duke gets a unexpected guest his world is turned upside down and secrets revealed with trouble to bust. Colt-Colt when arrested after a shot out is taken to jail he is road captain of the black hornets. Olivia is a agent assigned to cartel related operations for the D.E.A. In Redding this is a awsome story I love getting to know this club 10 stars thor-After the arrest of Diego from the cartel . Oliva is being treated ,so willow her best friend and once former FBI cyber crimes division and after Sleek broke her confidence in herself. She became a different woman. Now in Redding to the the Black Hornets mc she meets Colt Olive guy and Thor one of the other hornets .This is a Awesome story that will have you laughing and rutting for willow and the Black hornets. Great job 10 stars. JAgger-jagged is a prospect for the black hornets mc and son of a serial killer. Mari is a dental hygienist and daughter of diego of the roja Diablo cartel . I’m not too sure how I feel about this. It’s particularly tricky for me to write this review. I just came off an awesome series and may still have a book hangover so I want to be fair to it lol it had some very suspenseful unexpected moments, some stereotypical MC moments and some draw dropping moments. I shall continue on to the next book to see if this is a happy for now or if Chaos is going to ensue!

Jace...
Leti would do anything and everything to save her brother even if it meant going to jail or even worse.
He saw her the minute she walked through the door and yeah he wasn't going to waste another second.
She did what they wanted but then Leti couldn't help but be curious about the men she had seen go by and for some dumb reason that defys all logic she followed them.
He just knew deep down sometime you can just tell when something isn't right and this girl was giving off a vibe he couldn't ignore.
And yeah her poor story made him feel things he'd like to say he'd had heard things like that before but that would be a lie.
He promised that they would help rescue her brother from the scumbags who took him.
And yeah he felt kind of bad for checking her out but Jace needed to know that Leti was being honest with him. He couldn't expect his brothers to stick their necks on the line without proof.

Honestly, the writing was over the top. Tons of misspelled words and descriptions that had you rolling your eyes after a while. The sex scenes read like 90s bad porn and became laughable instead of sexy. And, it was ridiculous that every central male character was committed to bachelorhood due to a crappy childhood, but 5 minutes after meeting a woman, were imagining a future with her (okay, one took a bit longer, but he starts off describing her as rat-like and then, all of a sudden, she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.). Women in earlier books showed up in later books but others were only mentioned briefly and never show up again. What happened to the ones in the safehouses?
One woman leaves her townhouse knowing that she will never go back there again. But, she does. And, then after a huge battle, she leaves again, saying that she can never go back to it again. But, she does. Twice. Never say never. Especially twice.
This became less suspenseful and more light reading after a while.

Good storyline
I enjoyed the series, glad that I got the entire series in one book. I think it would have been more like short stories instead of a full length novel.
The story line was great. I loved the idea and what the MC stood for. Fast burn for the sex and love, but fit the tempo of the book nicely.
The reason I only gave 3 stars is because of the grammatical and poor editing errors. It really needed better editing and proof reading. A few inconsistent details, and that’s a huge pet peeve. I was committed to finishing the book, so I trudged through the errors.
I hope the author will be more thorough with her beta readers and editing.

I’ve read each of the books in this series individually and they are all incredibly entertaining and definite 5 stars. Each book drags you into a dangerous, fast-paced world with heart wrenching romance and sizzling sexual tension that holds you captive until the last page. This collection is just amazing and provides hours of fantastic reading with well-developed plots and hot, sexy, bad boy bikers. “The Black Hornets MC" series has it all.

This is the perfect way to get this wonderful series all at once. I thought that this MC series was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters are likable, the chemistry hot and the storylines are exciting. Filled with danger, passion, action, suspense, intensity and raw emotions, these reads will keep you turning pages and on the edge of your seat. A terrific collection of MC romances that should not be missed. I am posting a sincere review by my own choice.

Each man was brought down by the last thing they ever saw coming....a woman. This series was comprised of an excellent plot and hot protective bikers and the women that they fell in love with. You have to read all of them to find out how it ends but it’s an awesome read, each story in their own right.

If I can give one constructive criticism, use vicious town names. For me, a citizen of Redding,CA, it was disturbing that you portrayed our city as a drug and gang hotbed. We are an hour away from Chico, we have no forest area in our city, we don't have cactus. That is just the parts I remember. I know it's just fiction but when writing you don't want to distract from your story.

Great collection
A great series of Biker books lots of rough tough Alpha males and feisty females that make them theirs. Each book has its own story to tell but each is interlinked. There are some typo errors that can be annoying but don't really detract too much from the stories. These are hot Biker boys and some very sexy women who make their blood boil, there is lots of action and plenty of scorching bedroom action. A thoroughly enjoyable series.

Enjoyable but lots of grammar & spelling mistakes.
While I enjoyed the story sometimes it was hard to read them because of spelling errors, wrong words being used, and partial sentences that made no sense.

This series of books, was interesting they were not ones I felt I had to finish right away. Some I liked more then others. Some of the characters had me laughing which was well worth the time to read. Each book had some good plots.

All in all I really loved reading this series. The characters in each of the books were very good. The chemistry between the characters, there was like electric spark, being drawn to one another. So good.

An Enjoyable read
This was a great set of books, getting to know the guys of the MC and the women who stole there hearts.

Good read
This is an exciting series. The action packed pages keep you reading. The only draw back is as sexy as the Hornets are sex scenes while hot are to repetitive for my taste. If your like me and the story more entertaining than the sex don't pass this one up.
