While each of the six stories in this collection takes a different path to happily ever after, all have one thing in common. Some unravelling will need to occur before love can claim her happy victims.
Unravelling Mr. Darcy
What's a gentleman to do when he has laid his heart before a lady only to have it crushed beneath her dainty slippers? If you're Fitzwilliam Darcy, there is only one thing to do -- unravel your tightly wound pride, mend your ways, and convince the lady of your worth.
Becoming Entangled
Anne de Bourgh wishes to dance until she is dizzy, walk until she is tired, and marry a particular gentleman who causes her heart to skitter and skip and flutter. There is, however, one thing that stands between Anne and her aspirations -- her mother.
Nevertheless, when a young lady is determined, things such as a mother's restraints and a long-standing betrothal are merely impediments to be circumvented.
Enticing Miss Darcy
Having been duped once by a charming scoundrel, Georgiana Darcy finds that, along with the excitement of soirees and new experiences, her first season is chock full of uncertainty. She knows the purpose of a season is to find a husband, but how does one judge the character of a man when she dares not trust her heart?
Mr. Darcy's Comfort
An honourable gentleman remains true to his word, and Fitzwilliam Darcy is as honourable as they come. He would never consider breaking a promise. At least, he would not have before he met Elizabeth Bennet.
Master of Longbourn
Large, awkward, unlovable, and destined to fail -- that is who William Collins has always been told he was, and while he might have accepted the first three monikers, he's worked hard to ensure the last one does not become true.
But how can someone as inept, as Collins thinks he is, ever win the heart of a lady as charming as Kitty Bennet?
Assessing Mr. Darcy
The Bennet ladies are all eager anticipation. Netherfield has been let at last! And joy of all joys, it has been leased to a single young gentleman of good fortune! To Elizabeth's delight, the new neighbor has not come alone but has brought with him a handsome friend. With any luck, if this gentleman proves to be more than just handsome and if he can pass Elizabeth's brother's scrutiny, it will not only be Jane who finds a husband.

Leenie Brown has always been a girl with an active imagination, which, while growing up, was both an asset, providing many hours of fun as she played out stories, and a liability, when her older sister and aunt would tell her frightening tales. At one time, they had her convinced Dracula lived in the trunk at the end of the bed she slept in when visiting her grandparents!
Although it has been years since she cowered in her bed in her grandparents’ basement, she still has an imagination which occasionally runs away with her, and she feeds it now as she did then ─ by reading!
Her heroes, when growing up, were authors, and the worlds they painted with words were (and still are) her favourite playgrounds! Now, as an adult, she spends much of her time in the Regency world, playing with the characters from her favourite Jane Austen novels and those of her own creation.
When she is not traipsing down a trail in an attempt to keep up with her imagination, Leenie resides in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia with her two sons and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley, and Edmund with a healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tilney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).
Finally Mrs. Darcy: I read this and reviewed it separately. 4 stars, July 2016
Waking to Mr. Darcy: I read this and reviewed it separately. 4 stars, September 2016
A Very Mary Christmas @ 37% to 60%: Mary Bennet and Nicholas Hammond (who manages his family’s estate, Rosemoore, near Longbourn), are attracted to each other but each believes they are not in a position which would allow their marriage. Then his brother, Fred, along with his friend, Whit, arrive at Rosemoore when they are sent down from university. They have a knack for getting into trouble with some gambling and some racing with curricles or horses. Owing a debt to Mary because of an accident they agree to find employment and replace some torn gloves and soon find themselves on a quest to bring Nicholas and Mary together.
Discovering Mr. Darcy: I read this and reviewed it separately. 3.5 stars, April 2018
Not an Heiress: @80% to 98%: Lady Catherine (who is OOC in this tale) plays matchmaker between Mary and the Colonel with Mr. Bennet’s agreement. She delights in making all the arrangements ahead of the time she arranges a compromise. He wants to be a politician and she wants to marry a vicar as each believes those positions would allow them to aid others.
Leenie Brown May not have created these characters but sh plays her variations on them with the skill of a maestro. He dialogue is great, her sense of place and social context accuracy and her excellent writing is well edited.
This is a relatively short, straightforward telling of P&P that puts Mr. Collins inside the Bennet family from childhood. I liked it, though the usual tension between Lizzie and Mr. Darcy is completely missing. Still, it’s a nice read.
What could be better than one delightful variation inspired by Pride and Prejudice? Why a whole collection of them of course by the talented Leenie Brown
Mr. Darcy's Comfort This was another great novella by Leenie Brown full of great characters and an interesting plot. This story had a bit more loss at the beginning and as a result was a bit more serious but it also has several fun scenes and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in the sequel Master of Longbourn: A Sequel to Mr. Darcy's Comfort.
Master of Longbourn This book was a really fun sequel to Mr. Darcy's Comfort: A Pride and Prejudice Novella and I really liked this Mr. Collins. I enjoyed seeing this side of him and how his character developed in this book as well as seeing him interact with Bingley and Darcy and the friendship that developed between the three of them. It was fun to watch them help Mr. Collins try to get Kitty's attention. The relationship between Kitty and Mr. Collins was also fun to watch unfold. There is also an epilogue at the end that takes place on Kitty's nineteenth birthday that is really sweet.
Assessing Mr. Darcy I loved this variation and how Leenie Brown wrote William Bennet in this variation. The relationship between him and Elizabeth was really fun and I enjoyed reading about them teasing one another and the sibling relationship they had developed. I also really liked the Mr. Bingley in this variation and how he stood up to Darcy and wasn't as reluctant as he is in other variations to tell Darcy when he thought he knew better. All the characters were so well written and the story was so fun. I would love to read more of this story and about what happens next and would have liked more of an epilogue about what happens next for all the characters. I look forward to reading more of Leenie Browns wonderful variations in the future.
