I was excited to read this sneak peek of Hank Phillippi Ryan's new book. As with her other novels, it grabs your interest right away. You are introduced to the lead characters and the interesting dynamics between them. The stage is set right away with a murder. How was she murdered? Who is she? Why was she murdered? To find this out, you will need to read the book when it comes out. I can't wait. This tease just makes me want to read the book even more. Waiting is so hard.

A few of my friends and I did a buddy read after our friend was able to get Hank to send us all a copy of her newest book! Not only that, but we were graced with Hank's presence during our buddy chat when reviewing the book! Author's who participate with their audience, hold no higher rank in my book (LOL)

This book gives you that cat and mouse chase feel where you absolutely cannot put the book down until you know what happens. It's told from 3 viewpoints: Rachel- an aspiring lawyer, Jack- Rachel's husband who is a ruthless Defense lawyer and Martha- Jack's rival by being the top Prosecutor in the area. Rachel does an internship under Martha for the summer but it causes some marital issues at home since Jack can't stand Martha and the way she plays dirty. Rachel doesn't understand all the fuss as once the summer's over, her and Jack will be working together, right?

While Rachel is interning under Martha, Martha starts to say conflicting things about Jack which causes Rachel to be in a headspace where she doesn't know who is right. Does she trust her husband or someone who knows her husband maybe better than her? In the meantime, Rachel is helping Martha solve a cold case from years ago that involved one of Rachel's old co-workers when she worked for the Senate. With all of these old memories coming back up and Martha getting close to solving the case, where do Rachel's loyalties lie? With Jack or Martha?

Such a suspense ridden book. You think you know what's going to happen but unless you are a stickler for details - you won't see it coming!

Rachel North is beginning a summer internship with Assistant DA Martha Gardiner, nicknamed the "Devil Woman," by Rachel's husband, defense attorney Jack Kirkland. This 5-chapter sneak peek already hints at this situation not going the way Rachel hopes, and provides another hint at some intrigue in Rachel's past. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this book!

No surprise, but it looks like author Hank Phillippi Ryan has done it again. If this sneak peek of The Murder List is any indication you will be flipping pages as fast as you can when the book is released. I thoroughly enjoy Ryan’s Charlotte McNally and Jane Ryland series, but with her standalones Trust Me and now The Murder List she has ramped things up a notch and joined my favorite authors like Lisa Scottoline, Karin Slaughter and Sarah Pinborough for heart-stopping suspense, well developed characters and a strong plot.

Even in this sneak peek I have a sense of dread and uncertainty from the very start. What exactly happened in Rachel’s past? She seems smart and capable but there’s something I can’t put my finger on, and she seems to defer to, or sidestep or almost be intimidated by her husband Jack. I don’t really like him and I’m not sure I trust him to have Rachel’s best interests at heart. And her new boss? What a cast of characters. Can’t wait for the release of the full book. I know I’m going to read it in one sitting and love it.

I decided to download the sneak peek edition, which included the first five chapters of Hank Phillippi Ryan's latest standalone thriller. I always enjoy a good legal thriller and can see myself devouring this one in its entirety when it becomes available. The opening chapters focus on the main character's (Rachel North) first day on the job in the prosecutor's office and the potential friction it will cause between her and her husband, who is a hotshot defense attorney. There is a flashback scene that hints at possible political intrigue in the story as well, so I'm very curious to find out how the two timelines will overlap. This author always delivers with complex, briskly paced thrillers that keep me wanting to read "just one more chapter" and this one promises more of the same. I am eagerly awaiting the chance to pick up where chapter five left off to find out how the story continues.

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 ⁣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⁣

So a few of us had the pleasure of getting signed copies of this book, by the amazing @hankpryan ⁣

It was an amazing opportunity, to be able to read this book with these amazing ladies, along with being graced with Hank’s presence during our group chats. ⁣

This book was a wild ride, of anticipation, the thrill of wanting to know what was going to happen next. The book is told from 3 people’s points of view, Rachel’s, Jacks, and Martha’s. ⁣

Rachel being a law student, married to a defense attorney, while working as a intern during the summer with Martha. Who happens to be a rival of Jacks, they have so much history, that Rachel is pinned between them. ⁣

Rachel is picked to help Martha solve a cold case , that goes back to when Rachel was working with Tom the Senator. Old memories come back to her, as Martha brings out the files, trying to freshen Rachel’s memory. For her help in solving a cold case against Jack, in which Martha lost. ⁣

Rachel is torn between who to trust, Martha, her new employer for the summer, or Jack, her beloved husband. Does she trust her husband? ⁣

Who will Rachel side with?? Jack? Martha?? ⁣

You will have to see who ends up on The Murder List!!! This was a suspense packed book, I always thought I knew what was about to happen. Then my mind would be blown away. ⁣

The Murder List a must read !

I was fortunate to receive a “sneak peek” of Hank Phillippi Ryans latest suspense novel. The first 40 pages have me hooked thanks to Hanks undeniable writing skills. She already has a victim in a prestigious Boston suburb, a gory scene of the murder,so many questions and not enough answers. My only complaint,I have to wait for the release of the Murder List, on August 20th.

Didn't see the end coming like usual. Kind of wish there was more. Good to start but kind of slow in the middle. Wanted to know where it was going.
