Two brothers fight to survive the end of the world with their faith and humanity intact!

Returning to town after a weekend on their ranch in Montana, James and Connor Andderson learn firsthand that the dead are coming back to life. As the nation succumbs to an outbreak unlike anything ever seen, the brothers must gather their supplies and set out on a road trip to save their parents from a fate worse than death itself. Their naïve optimism quickly fades, and the choices they confront will leave them scarred for life.

Meanwhile, Emmett Wolfe, along with his daughter and ex-wife, leave Texas bound for a safe haven in Alaska. Along the way, they rescue a mysterious young woman from a shopping mall, but the cost of their daring recovery will leave them reeling. The U.S. quickly falls into chaos, and Emmett learns early on that there are dangers far worse than the undead.

Tank finds himself amidst a group of survivors heading north, but their convoy is stopped dead in its tracks when they’re ambushed by a gang of ruthless killers. Escaping the attack, Tank and two others are hunted through Wyoming by the bloodthirsty Reclaimers. With no other choice, Tank has to face the reality that sacrifices are necessary if they are to survive.

As the virus spreads across America, the remaining survivors must band together to fight not only the walking dead, but the living as well. Their journey to the Alaskan wilderness is met with constant hardship, betrayal, and death. But as the world crumbles around them, they will come to realize they cannot lose what makes them human. They must hold on to faith and hope or all is lost and they will not survive the coming apocalypse.

This was surprisingly really good!

So after the failure of Run From the Dead I still, amazingly, wanted to read a zombie apocalypse book for both fall/spooky season and as research for my current WIP, so I picked up this one (the only unread one I had) and hoped the fact that it was written from a Christian perspective would cut down on the gore, horrible main characters, and zombie-body-horror (yep, I’m back with that again, heehee). And while it did that it also was just a really good story with interesting characters that I want to keep reading about! Especially James, I ended up really liking him a lot.

This is written in an omniscient point of view (aka head hopping) which doesn’t normally work in modern stories, nor are they usually written well, but this one was written in a way that worked as I got to know and be attached to these characters but with the nature of the world they’re living in I was never sure who would live or die, and this viewpoint added to the uncertainty by killing off POV characters as well as unnamed ones, adding to the tension and horror of the situation they were in. I don’t know if that will be carried throughout the series but if so I won’t be mad about it because it works in this context so well.

The characters definitely grow and change very drastically from beginning to end, and I liked how the depravity of humanity was on display while being balanced with those who would help and do good just because they could but who also knew when to stop because they’re were being taken advantage of—there’s a lot of meat here wrapped up in an adventure and fight for survival and I appreciate that. Bringing God and faith into the picture and showing how that works in this situation was just the icing on the cake.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised and blown away by this story! Now I’ll have to continue the series at some point because I want to know what happens next! Highly recommend this one!

Look at me continuing another series I started last year! (Who am I to be so responsible like this? 🤪😆) A series I’m really enjoying too! This genre isn’t normally my thing since I discovered last year how graphic and gory most zombie apocalypse stories are, but I’m really growing to love this story and these characters with every book! The faith content is also woven in so organically and thoughtfully I wanted to give it a shout out because I’m very impressed.

James is my favorite character and I feel so much and so badly for him in everything he’s struggling with and how he pushes through despite it all is so inspiring. And his relationship with Olive is so precious. 🥰🥰 Alexis is probably my second favorite character though we didn’t see a lot through her eyes this time around. The other characters are complex and flawed, and I like how they all look at the situations they get into from different perspectives yet manage to work together anyways. And if the two kids and the snake die by the end of the series I’m going to be so sad. 😭

The violence stays about the same as in book one but the language goes up a tad with no f-bombs but several s words, just so people are aware. Also they rescue kids and, yes, several die and turn into zombies though that’s never shown on page, only how the guys have to shoot them after they’re turned, so keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing.

I’m enjoying this series a lot, though that cliffhanger ending was mean! I had to run out and buy book three the next day, so rude!

⚔️Wolf Pack—4 Stars⚔️

Didn’t plan to read this in one day, but here we are. There was just no good stopping point so I HAD to keep reading to make sure everyone would make it out alive and okay!

James, Tank, Connor, and Chloe make quite the team, lol. I loved their dynamic and how well they worked together to rescue the rest of their group. Definitely confirmed here that Alexis is my second favorite character after James, and Ana…I honestly don’t know what I would have done in her situation, but I hope she’s okay and comes back to join them at some point. And after everything, Squeezer survived! I know it’s probably weird to care about the snake in the midst of all this, but I was worried about him and am so happy he’s back with the gang.

Jezz (love the name, it’s fits the maniacal maniac to a T) is totally insane and I was afraid for everyone who crossed her path and knowing there are actual people like her out in the world creeps me out. Her cult killer group is horrible and the fact that the heroes will have to face her and whoever she scrounges up after this to go after them is terrifying.

The intense intrigue and non stop action was REAL with this book and I’m glad we’ll get a bit of a breather in the next one because characters and reader alike need it!

⚔️Bad Company—4 Stars⚔️

A much needed break for characters and reader alike! While there’s still action, danger, and crazy Reclaimers out for blood throughout, this is much slower then the previous books as the characters recover and reflect on all that’s happened in such a short amount of time and the changes they’ve all gone through, both good and bad.

James and Alexis are the sweetest, strongest couple ever and I love them so much, together and apart! Definitely my two favorite characters in the whole series! Emmett frustrated me a lot, as it seemed like he was being too reliant on the “safety” of this place and therefore was being almost intentionally blind to what was going on most of the time which made me want to shake him. Everyone else was thinking much more rationally than him on this matter, haha.

I also wanted to mention from a writer’s perspective, I really like studying the different guy characters and their reactions to things—whether they’re more stoic or feeling or just in between—as written from a man’s perspective and it’s REALLY helping me take note on how to (hopefully!) write more realistic men in my own stories now and in the future. I really appreciate how this series has opened my eyes to this and am learning a lot!

While I took my time through the majority of it, I speed read through the last few chapters and am both nervous and excited to see what happens next and how this is all going to be wrapped up—fingers crossed for a happy ending with all my favorites staying alive and well!

⚔️Last Hope—4 Stars⚔️

A satisfying ending that wasn’t without its hardships and tears. I devoured the majority of this book in a single day because I just HAD to know and it did not disappoint. I was shocked by several twists I didn’t see coming, though I will admit to strongly suspecting one due to all the hints and kept hoping it was a red herring to be proven woefully wrong. 😭

This book made me cry, had one of the most powerful sacrifices I’ve ever read in fiction, and made me want a character to be pregnant so bad by the end it surprised me, lol.

I loved this journey, I love these characters, I love this author’s writing, and I cannot wait for whatever he writes next. This has definitely set my standard for zombie apocalypse stories and I highly doubt any others will surpass it anytime soon, if ever.

This is one of the best zombie apocalypse series ever! This series is not just about zombies eating people; it is about two brothers surviving with their faith intact, leading a rag tag group of survivors to safety - strangers who quickly become a tight knit family. They overcome so many obstacles and atrocities thrown at them, both from the zombies as well as evil humans. This entire series is an extraordinary and compelling read, if I could give more than five stars, I would. I highly recommend this boxset, it is worth every penny you spend on it.

The brother’s creed series tells the story of the early days of a zombie apocalypse. It follows two brothers, James and Connor, on a quest to reach their family’s hunting lodge deep in the Alaskan Wilderness. Sounds like a good place to ride out the apocalypse. Not many people, plenty of animals and fish for food.

Along the way, they connect with various other characters, including their best friend Tank. As their travelling family grows, James and Connor feel an increasing responsibility for those in their care, but in the apocalypse, nobody is safe.

This series is made up of 5 short books, plus a prequel novella and an epilogue short story. They very much belong together, telling one continuous story. Think of them like a limited series on Netflix. It’s a story broken into little manageable chunks, but it’s designed for binging.

The stories are fast paced and the author is not shy about showing the tragedy that would occur during a zombie outbreak. But end of the world stories like this are frequently used to examine the deeper issues of idealism and morality. What do you do with your values when survival is at stake? What actions are justifiable. Like the TV show, Walking Dead, this story depicts characters who are regularly struggling with what they must do to survive, while desperately trying to cling to their idealism and humanity. In the Brother’s Creed, JAmes and Connor are also wrestling with their faith. How do they reconcile the zombie apocalypse with the beliefs they’ve always held? Can you still be a Christian in this world? The faith element is well integrated into the characters and never feels like an intrusion. And while the way it is expressed on book 1 occasionally comes across as a little cheesy, this quickly improves in subsequent books.

James and Connor the story as gun-toting hunters. The author’s knowledge of, and affection for guns adds a lot of realism to the setting. And his love of hard rock music adds a little spice. Tank is a geek who peppers his scenes with some nice pop-culture references.

But it’s not just the blokes who get to kick zombie butt. There are some great female characters in the story as well, including a woman who is trying to escape her past in a Russian mafia family, and one of the nastiest villains I’ve encountered in some time.

Ultimately, as the story examines the darker side of human nature, we see the worst brutality comes not from the zombies, but from the humans, who no longer have a reason to reign in their darker impulses.

There will be tragedy and loss along the way, you expect that from the genre, but the book closed with a very satisfying ending. As they say, the light shines brightest after the darkness. At least, I think somebody has said that. If not, well, I just did.

If you like action packed thrillers that slow down once in a while to examine the deeper issues of life, then you should check out The Brother’s Creed series by Joshua C Chadd.

What a wonderful box set. Many super characters and the stories are more in line with what would actually happen in a Zombie setting. When guns are available they pick them up instead of most books where they are always left forgotten. Great writing and really enjoyable.
I just finished reading this box set for the 2nd time. The box set leaves a little bit out but does not affect the stories. 2nd read was better than the first time. I hated for it to end and would love to see more of them while in Alaska.

Really?

I liked the characters but there was to much religious stuff. It’s hard to be a Jesus Freak and write about murdering people. I really did not like that a lot of the main characters were killed off. If you are into the more religious type of stories and losing a lot of the main characters then this would be a good series for you, it’so just not my cup of tea. Thanks for using Kindle unlimited.

This box set was unbelievable!! I read a lot of books in this genre, but this box set was by far the best I’ve ever read! It has everything, heroes, heartbreak and victories.
The faith the characters had was not overt however, it was steady and though out the book without being over-the-top.
I am definitely looking forward to anything Joshua C. Chadd writes!!

I was lucky enough to acquire the complete five-book series of The Brother’s Creed; the set includes Outbreak, Battleborn, Wolf Pack, Bad Company, and Last Hope. The opening volume introduces us to the main characters. The Andderson brothers, James and Connor embark on a cross-country rescue mission to save the weak and unprotected from the zombie hoard. I know that sounds corny but that is their mindset after losing their parents to thieves and killers. The pair is well-kitted with every weapon and piece of equipment you could want. They befriend Emmett Wolfe, his daughter Alexis, and their passenger Anna, the Russian-accented daughter of a Russian mobster. Emmett had been headed to secluded safety in Alaska. Volume two onward takes us on a wild ride with the brothers. The action runs the gambit from zombies, thieves, killers, and kidnappers to religious cults, cannibals, and just plain crazies. Oh, yes, there are one or two sane people left in the world. I’ve read many complaints concerning the religious tone of this story. It’s a shame some people get bent out of shape when faith is mentioned. Yes, there are several times the brother’s faith is referred to but it doesn’t detract from the story. It builds on the story as an indication of the brother’s closeness and strength. Again, when the dying mother told her boys not to lose their faith in the face of what was happening. Don’t you think people would discuss their faith amid an apocalypse? It’s a great story. A wonderful story about the love between two brothers, with lessons in “doing the right thing”.

I really enjoyed this series. It is a great series for teens and young adults who like reading zombie books. This series has enough action, drama, and even comedy to interest young adults of all kinds. It does have religion in it but not an overabundance that could be a turn off. The third book is probably the most religious book in the series but even it does not hit you over the head with religion. I like it because it encourages faith and hope through adversity without the condemnation if you don't believe. It does have a lot of information and description of the weaponry used by the survivors but does not take away from the story. I found all of the books to be a quick read and it only took me awhile to read them because of other obligations.

If you're a fan of TWD you need to read this series. The series starts off focused on two brothers at the start of a zombie outbreak. As the series progresses, the writing improves and Chadd delves deeper into the characters' lives. There is great detail in the weapons and gear the characters use if you're into that sort of thing, but even if you're not, it takes nothing away from the great story. I cannot recommend this series more! But even better, this box set includes a prequel story and a final short story as well. You cannot go wrong purchasing this!

Epic series! These characters were flawed and humble and so very bad-ass! I loved the references to military (and the respect for it) as well as believing in a higher power and voicing those beliefs. It was refreshing to have books about death, decay and violence mixed with hope, love, prayer and friendships. Joshua nailed these stories and told them well.

I absolutely LOVED this series! Give it a read you will not be disappointed.

I love this series! The writing is great and the characters are easy to love (or hate) but, sometimes it’s difficult to decide because there are a ton of twists! FYI- I cried near the end, I did not want it to be over anyway, then the ultimate shock occurred. Want to know what happened? Well, it took me less than a week to read the entire series. So, get started. You’ll be glad you did. Enjoy!

Imaginative and packed with weapons details, but amateurish in all areas; clearly pushed out without skilled proofreading or copyediting

Shame this is a box set–none of the stories stands on its own. Commected together, it makes for a great story. However, it would be necessary to overlook numerous flaws in logic; medicine; psychology; even in weapons usage.

An Amazing series!!!

I read the first book separately and didn’t hesitate to get this in the box set. So much happens to this group of people trying to survive and get to their destination. Lots of danger to deal with, loss, betrayal and all of it very realistic. There are hoo-rah moments and scenes that choked me up! Thanks for the adventure!

Wow

This series is so much more than I expected! The bonds of brotherhood, family, and survivorship. A true
story of love, faith, growth and strength. I've read a lot of amazing books over the years in the post apocalyptic genre, but none made me tear up, laugh out loud, or sigh quite like this one has. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Chadd's work.

There were big parts of the book where nothing was happening. The gaps were padding and I was on the verge of giving up. But then we moved on and the story picked up its pace. Overall it worked but a rewrite could reduce the book by a third and it would be a better read.

I thoroughly enjoyed these books. The two brothers were very prepared when the Apocalypse starts. I really appreciated the stories are based in Faith and God. Very well written and different than any other stories I read in this genre.

This was an audiobook with an outstanding performance by Graham Halsted. The storyline is predictable in a comforting way that will not disappoint fans of the genre. For me it had all the best qualities of post apocalyptic fiction and it was engrossing beginning to end.

I enjoyed this series. Not preachy yet well told about faith and touched on faith in a way that many of us struggle with.

I loved this series. Joshua does a great job showing the reality of a hard situation, and how sometimes the emotional battle is just as difficult as the physical war against zombies. Lots of awesome twists and turns, and some very real-feeling faith journeys.
