Hanna Hamilton has been fascinated with the Regency era ever since she was a young teen, first discovering historical romance novels by famous authors such as Jane Austen and Lisa Kleypas. She believes that love was just so much more magical back then, more like a fairy tale. She always daydreamed about finding love herself that way, but since that is impossible in the twenty-first century, she decided to write about it instead!

Born in Texas, Hanna Hamilton obtained a degree in Creative Writing and has worked as a literature teacher before becoming a novelist. When she isn’t writing, Hanna likes to explore the countryside with her husband and two children, gaining inspiration from the natural world around her.

So, come on a journey into love, confusion, and redemption all within the Regency era. Hanna hopes that you will enjoy immersing yourself into her novels and that you too will find a love for old-fashioned romance, just as she has.

Miss Thea Miller was informed by her brother Freddie the Viscount of Willowdale that she was to be married. She got him to promise that she could help select the man she was going to marry. Liam Carter was a footman in the house and he was in love with Leah;. Robert Cartwright, the third Baron of Ampleforth, was congratulated himself on his soon to be wedding to Thea Miller. When he arrived Freddie told him that Thea had almost drowned the night before when the post broke off dumping her in the lake. She was saved by a footman, and was resting in her room today. Robert pressured Freddie to agree to a betrothal between Robert Thea but Freddie refused saying that he had promised she could help choose her husband. In the next couple of days Freddie and Thea went horseback riding when the shot was fired killing Freddie's horse. The his horse speaking at the sound threw her to the ground at the feet of Freddie's horse who was kicking while trying to get up as he lay dying she rolled out of the way of his feet and got up and ran to Freddie thinking he was dead that he was breathing and she woke him up she wrote her horse ball Freddie letter back to the house. Someone was trying to kill Freddie they didn't know for sure if whoever it was was also planning on killing Thea. To find out who was attempting to murder Freddie and whether Thea was the supposed to be murdered or not and who she falls in love with you have to read the rest of the book. It's a good book...

Oh, my goodness!!! This is one of the best regency books I have ever read. The plot and the subplots are insane. There were more twist and turns than a candy cane. The characters were absolutely fabulous. This is a well written story. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this book. The suspense never let up not for one second. There is the loving brother and sister, Freddie, the Viscount of Willowdale and Miss Thea Miller. Freddie's best friend Robert Cartwright, Baron of Ampleforth was obsessed with Thea and dogged Freddie constantly to give his permission to marry her. As children they all played together along with one of the servant's son Liam Carter. They all grew up together. But as they got older class distinction keep Liam away from Thea and Freddie. Liam has always loved Thea since they were young. His affection only grew with time. As far as he knew his love was unrequited. Freddie wants Thea married and was encouraging Robert’s suit. Thea will not have him. For some unknown reason she loathes him. Later someone tries to kill Freddie not once but four times and each time it was Liam who was there to save him. He was also there when Thea was shot at and almost killed. Freddie and Thea had no idea who would want them dead. Freddie assigned footmen to be trained in firearms and had them set up as guards for himself and Thea. Then he found out Thea was having clandestine rendezvous with someone. He knew who it was and put his foot down forbade it and declared she was to marry Robert. Things in the household continued to go downhill. Several of the employees were poisoned. Liam's devoted mother Mary was among them. Then Freddie was poisoned and was on death's door. Liam went missing and Thea was left to figure out what was going on, why it was happening and how to deal with it. Heavens to Betsy, this is such a page turner. The tension is so thick and the suspense level was at an all-time high. When all was revealed it was shocking. I really enjoyed reading this book. If I could give it more than five stars I would. You will never be bored and you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book.

Too many holes. The characters were likable and realistic and the plot was interesting, but there were too many inconsistencies for me. There were also a couple of slip ups. Thea addresses Mr Carter as Liam in front of someone. Another time, after Thea spoke with the Scottish housekeeper, the narrator uses the word yawnin' to describe Thea! I could not understand why someone attempting to shoot Freddie from the hillside might almost hit him, while shooting him from a window in the house while he sat in the garden was too far.

Homophone alert: just and jest have very different meanings.

There were a couple of sentences that were confusing, either missing verbs or pronouns. This one was confusing because the words needed reordering: "Liam nudged the door closed with his boot as both Jack and the maid bolted down the hall and set the tray on a table." Believe it or not, Liam was the one to set the tray on the table. There were other sentences that needed editing.

The premise that someone was hiding in the walls was intriguing, but how could the characters keep forgetting something like that? For example, during a conversation, Thea suddenly remembered and her brother, apparently, had also forgotten. Later, she thinks someone has been kidnapped and taken to the hills, but being in the tunnels makes much more sense. Also, Thea was a bit too quick to trust people and tell them the details of the person(s) attempting to kill them.

Finally, and you can blame this on my ignorance, but in my defense, I searched online for an answer and could not find one, can a male commoner inherit a title through marriage to the sister of a Viscount? Maybe he can, but this seemed very unlikely to me. For this reason, I had trouble accepting it.

Jealousy, Murder and Deceit

The Viscount of Willowdale tells his sister that she is to marry his friend Robert. Thea Miller has loathed Robert for years but doesn't recall the reason that had caused her to feel that way. She has been drawn to Liam Carter, a childhood friend and now a footman in the Willowdale household from the time the four of them played together as children. When
Liam remembers what Robert had done and the beating he gave Robert for his actions at the time and he can't believe that Thea is being pushed to accept Robert as her husband. Liam is a loyal servant and friend to Freddie and Thea, showing that several times since the murder of their parents and the attempts on their own lives since then.
The Duke of Bradford was a partner to their father and comes under suspicions as to the murders of their parents and attempts on Freddie's life and Thea ends up going on a visit without Freddie to ascertain whether he or his son could be guilty. When she returns home, she tells Freddie that they were innocent and offered to help in anyway they could.
Secret corridors in the Willowdale home hide an assailant that he can use to find out any plans Thea and Freddie make and use to his advantage for plans of his own. When a trap is set to catch him, he escapes after coming very close to stabbing Freddie to death.
Who hired the assailant and for what reason? They need to find answers quickly as several servants have come close to losing their lives due to being poisoned and then Freddie almost succumbs to poisoning but its not tied to that of the servants.

Miss Thea Miller and Liam Carter may be miles apart in class but there friendship and love is never ending.

Liam Carter is a footman for the Willdale estate he and Thea have been friends since childhood as a grown man his feelings have only grown he loves her but must keep it a secret he would do anything for her even keep his feelings to himself but when tragedy strikes and Thea nearly dies he cannot keep his feelings to himself any longer.

Thea who's brother is the Viscount is furious when her brother says she will marry his friend she wont have it she cant stand the man he's positively loathsome. She loves Liam anyway she will do whatever it takes to be with the man she loves if she can only change her brothers mind. Now something very sinister is going on as well both her and her brother have had near death experiences who wants them out of the way and why and if not for Liam they mite have died. But when Liam goes missing will they be able to find him before something happens. Will love overcome class in this suspenseful Regency Romance. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This is gripping, suspenseful, tragic, sweet and romantic. Liam is a footman in the house he grew up in, as his mother is the housekeeper, and has been in love with Thea since they were children. Thea is the daughter of the family, and has is in love with Liam, she just doesn't realize it. Freddie is the son, and beyond blind and stupid. Robert is Freddie's best friend, and is obsessed with having Thea as his wife. While Freddie keeps pushing Robert on Thea, no matter how many times she's said no, it seems as though someone is trying to kill Freddie, and possibly Thea. After Liam helps out, Freddie assigns him to guard Thea. That's when Thea realizes her love. Liam refuses to believe there's any chance they will end up together, but Thea is optimistic. Freddie is the dumbest, most stubborn and most oblivious man ever. The storyline is full of drama, intrigue, twists and love. It's a must read.

This is not just another regency romance -although that is its classification. This is a wonderful look and the division of classes in that era. To some nobles, the underclass of servants were totally invisible. They served a purpose, but that was their only value. To others, they were equals. This is also a wonderful romantic story of true love and a desire to cross the social lines to be together. Over all of these factors, it is an incredible mystery. Who is trying to kill the Lord of Willowdale and his sister, Lady Thea. Full disclosure, I received an advance copy of this book with the promise of a fair review. I honestly loved the book and had trouble putting it down. Hanna Hamilton has become one of my favorite authors (I wouldn't read and review books I didn't enjoy) partly because of her strong female characters and her vivid descriptions of the time and way of life and her characters jump off the page as real people.

I enjoyed this forbidden romance with a splash of suspense. Thea was a strong, likeable character who was also kind, caring and put in a situation where her wants, needs and desires were being ignored and her choice of who to wed taken away from her. Liam is a man who loves the one woman he cannot have, and despite this he protects her, supports her, listens to her, stands by her, loves her and puts her life above his own.

I loved the interactions between Thea and Freddie and the love and respect between Thea and Liam. I had a strong idea who the 'villain' was, but still eagerly kept turning to see what would happen next and if I was right. I enjoyed the two epilogues and this has become my new favourite Hanna Hamilton book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.

A love story and a mystery. Thea's brother Freddie wants her to marry Robert, his best friend since they were children. Thea can't stand Robert but she doesn't remember why. What happened between those two? Liam, a footman and Thea grew up together. They love each other but a Viscount's sister can not marry a commoner. What will happen there? Will they each go their own way? Somone is trying to kill Freddie. I figured it out soon but it was fun to read all the things that happened and how Freddie and Thea find out who the would be killer is. We have mystery, suspence, drama and romance. Characters are fleshed out. Well constructed plot and well written. You will enjoy this one!

What a great story! This is the tale of Miss Thea Miller, who lives in the household of her brother Freddie, the Viscount Willowdale. Her brother wants her to marry his best friend, whom she detests, but she falls in love with Liam, a footman employed by her brother and who she has grown up with. But her brother will not approve the match because Liam is a commoner, and beneath Thea in social station. All the characters in the story are great, very engaging and well-described. It's action packed with lots of twists and turns in the story line. It really keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out how it turns out. The book is well written, and edited well. It's a pleasure to read a book that isn't full of Grammer and spelling errors! All of Hanna Hamilton's books are a pleasure to read, and this one is no exception.

A delightful Regency Romance/Mystery that begins with a mysterious—and insane—horseman running wild through the countryside. Just who that man is, and what he has to do with the H & h, does not become clear until nearly the end. This adds an additional layer of mystery to the unfolding story. Simple layer: a footman and the daughter of the house grow up together, growing to love one another. Second layer: same daughter finds herself being pressured by her older brother to marry his best friend, yet he himself has made no efforts in finding a wife. 3rd layer: “accidents” that life of both brother and sister begin that finally are recognized as threats on their lives, but why??? And by whom??
An engaging story that kept my interest to the end. A clean novel that will appeal to all ages.

I have to admit that this was a very hard book to close once you started reading. Robert, Liam, Freddie and Thea have been friends, playing together since their childhood days. However, Liam is the son of a footman and any romantic notions are strictly not permitted! This story is full of twists, turns, actions, adventures and it doesn't stop. If you are looking for a nice, pleasant read - this is NOT the book for that. Repeated murder attempts keep you turning the pages, who is trying to kill who and why? A wonderful epilogue with an extended epilogue give you a happy ending and a smile in the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review.

The twists and turns will keep you reading as they try to figure out who not only killed their parents----but who is trying to kill them!! Meanwhile Thea's brother is attempting to get Thea to marry his best friend--not on anybodies life thank you very much!

Then there is Liam Carter--a servant in the household who has been in love with Thea all his life---She also loves him--besides he keeps saving both her brother's and her lives. Will these two star crossed lovers finally get a happy ending---or will the miscreant get his way!

Definitely a book all historical romance lovers will want to read--maybe even more then once.

From a Forbidden Friendship to a Sweet Love Story

The Commoner Who Stole Her Heart is a sweet and clean, yet suspenseful Regency romance. Hanna Hamilton has definitely written an engrossing page-turner. It has a likable hero and heroine, great supporting characters, and a very dangerous villain. The plot is interesting and tightly woven, and the pace is steady. As with this genre, the ending is happy, and even includes both an epilogue and extended epilogue.

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author via BookFunnel. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.

A story I enjoyed reading . Miss Thea Miller is in love with the loyal footman of her brother Freddy's Willowdale estate, Liam Carter. They will have a lot to overcome before they get their happy ending. There is suspense, drama, danger, poisoning, murder, a mad man, an evil closer than anyone knows, kidnapping, and romance.

A Good Story

I enjoyed reading this book and could have enjoyed more except for the redundant parts of it. Some paragraphs were repeated in different pages of the book. The characters were lovable in their portrayals. The ending everything you need.
