The Pulwama Aftermath

Rate this book
A heinous attack has been perpetrated on the Prime Minister of India. The assailant has disappeared after executing a flawless operation, leaving shock waves, tears and pandemonium in his wake. Who is he and what was his motive? Is he a lone wolf or is someone else pulling his strings? Will the Prime Minister survive or will he leave behind a nation steeped in grief and chaos.
The wounds of the Pulwama attack on Indian forces are yet fresh in the country's mind and calls for all-out war are getting more strident by the day. In a race against time, intelligence agencies are working as one to uncover the secrets behind the rogue operation before it’s too late. Any one of several terrorist organisations across the border could be involved in the attack. It could be the nation across the border, or perhaps the truth is much closer to home.
As the armed forces on both sides of the border prepare for an all-out offensive, will the agencies succeed at unravelling the truth or will it disappear forever?

The Pulwama Aftermath by Pratik Shah is a fast-paced suspense thriller set around the infamous Pulwama attack of 2019. The fictional account follows the events unfolding after the same,

'The wounds of the Pulwama attack were yet fresh in the country's mind when the news of the attack on the Prime Minister of India shook the nation to its core. He was the most popular man in the country, destined to become the Prime Minister again in the upcoming General Elections. But now would the Prime Minister even survive?!'

Revolving around the social and political dynamics of the country, The Pulwama Aftermath gives a peek into the working of the system. The deep-rooted lust for power can drive a person to any extent which proves itself in this thrilling story.

While the book does claim to be fictional, and it surely is, the inclusion of events such as the Godhra train accident of Gujarat and the communal riots following the same are in a fair amount of limelight. Names might have changed but the connection with 'bhakts' doesn't go unnoticed.

Although the theme of the book is pretty sensitive, I believe the author has taken some caution with regard to the development of the story. His stance might not be clear, his ideology is not clear but this riveting account does keep the readers thinking and on edge.

The political commentary is evident in most parts of the book. The end, however, brings a new taste to the story that we might assume it to be. A line would sum it up perfectly - "Some people might call (Asit) Patel a visionary leader. And Some might call him devious and even evil. Which one is he really?"

I enjoyed reading this page-turner. The writing is lucid complementing the taut narrative. As for recommending, it completely depends on the readers. Given the fact that the book has alluded frequently to real events, it might interest readers as per their understanding.

As the title clearly says, this book is based on true events occurred in India of Pulwama attack.💥 Every citizen was filled with anger and patriotism.😤 The author has done great work writing this book based on this event.👏

The prime minister of India is attacked and the country shook.😯 All intelligence agencies and armed forces are trying hard to find the mystery behind this attack.🧐 I was completely hooked in the story. The war between the two countries is well described.🤯 There is a fine thriller element in the story just like a patriotic thriller movie.🤩

The plot and characters can be easily picturised with actual occurences✔️ though it's a work of fiction. The first half was medium paced but the second half was fast paced and truly a page turner.😮 There is description of lot of violence.🔥 If it doesn't suit you, I would suggest don't read this book.❌ The characters are realistic and well developed.👥 The language is lucid. If you are a thriller fan especially based on politics and crime, then this one is for you.💁🏻‍♀️

The note at the start of the book says 'The story and characters in The Pulwama Aftermath' are fictitious. But it doesn't take a genius to figure out that most of the characters - especially the key ones are completely, and I say completely, wholly modelled on existing current key individuals in the Indian political scenario. From the Bhartiya National Party (not much originality there to keep it unique) to all the way the PM having grown up through the ranks as a Gujarat CM to the PM, his involvement or (non-involvement!) in Godhra, his aggressive stance versus our north western neighbour vis-à-vis all others' meek stances, even the oppositions' actions, the PM's right hand man the king-maker, all the way to 'mitron' - it does not take much to know where Pratik's adulations lie.

All of the linking to current individuals/political situations aside (which honestly is difficult to do! - because there is a lot!) - the plot moves along well, and if you're like me, somewhere along the way you would have figured out who is the real mastermind but you will still read on to see how Pratik does it. The amount of research is tremendous, the amount of information around public offices, agencies, institutions, army/naval/air force fighters (planes, submarines), advancements in technology like MAWA, the geographic landscape descriptions - is amazing! Though, I was dissapointed in Vijay - except for co-ordination, he didn't seem to be doing much. His eventual putting it together was probably the only brainy aspect. Overall, there are few decent political/action 'fiction' thrillers from the Indian author population, this makes a decent cut!

Book Review : The Pulwama Aftermath
Author: Pratik Shaha
Version : kindle
Genre : Fiction, Thriller
Rating : 4/5
About the book : The book is a amazing experience to go through. When I write amazing I mean by that as it was the book which has a close impact to the Indian law, It includes many names and branches of various departments in government like RAW ( Research And Analysis Wing) Etc.
The book is based on a fiction story that is a long read which gives it a little large scope for the readers to appreciate the work.
There is the a great Indian poems been written by the author that gives and makes the book a combination of fiction and Indian patriotism.
I really liked the book.
I would not like to disclose the book.

I would recommend others to read it. It is a must read for all the Indian lovers as it is based on something new, something different and something worth it.

Pulwama aftermath is a gripping political thriller. As read in the disclaimer, there are many parts like agency names etc which are real. Some of the events in the book resemble the situation of India after Pulwama incident. Similarity of the plot to the existing Indian situation at that time will make the reader relate both of them. This seemed cringy since every reader has now has a side to take on,whether something is good or bad quite literally. Personally for me, the overall spirit of a political action thriller no more seemed a fiction due to so many similarities.

Giving 4 stars since the quality of the book made me binge read the book in one setting. Overall a good read.

The story started on a dynamic note but sometimes was a bit bogged down by the back stories and explanations. Ending was pretty good though. It is good that promising writers are no longer restricted by the whims of big publication houses. Keep up the good work.

FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "Pulwama Aftermath" by Pratik Shah.

Rating: 5/5

QOTD: Do you read Historical Fiction?

"Pulwama Aftermath," written by Pratik Shah, is a book that makes every Indian feel so proud to be born in Indian. Before getting into eh actual review, let me tell you a bit about the author and how much effort it needs to write a book like this. Often we go for the most popular books out there, which is why there are many underrated books in the market, and unfortunately, it is one of the many. I was so happy to come through this book and read it.
.
Pulwama Attack has changed many things in India, and it has impacted every Indian so much. Having read a book about Pulwama Attack, I was excited to know how the author will pull the story about the aftermath of the Pulwama attack. I was with no expectations, but when the story was going with its pace, my excitement had no bounds, and my expectations were high, and yes, this book did meet my expectations. The way the story was developed and the additional fictional elements added to the book with the political side to it just made the book so spellbinding.

The modern global diplomacy/Politics revolves around the principle of ‘saam, daam, dand, bhed’ (persuade, purchase, punish, and exploit the weakness).
A person in order to survive & shine in Politics, he/she must be good at heart & intelligent as devil.
But sometimes situations are beyond control, such as when there are Riots.
Proverb says 'Mob has no brain' which proves true when group of people indulge in inhuman activities punishing innocent people in the name of religion.
The grief of victims often turns into rage which if used by wrong people prove dangerous for the country.

"The Pulwama Aftermath" is a Fiction political thriller which introduces us with the scenario's of past & present which are Non-fictional with the help of Fiction storyline.
The Prime Minister of India, who was heading to rally and whose winning was almost decided is attacked by someone in Public.
The people were taken back by the news as the terror was increasing.
After the brutal Pulwama attack, attempt to kill the PM was too bold making people feel unsafe.
The investigation team must uncover the truth behind the attack to prevent future disasters.
The story continues with the
investigations, where the truth takes the readers too deep in a black tunnel that has buried the ugly time, grief & pain within it.

Some thrilling elements in this story I found penned perfectly are
🍁The way Fictional characters connect with readers as if they exist in real
🍁The motto Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed implied in decisions.
🍁The Character of the PM
🍁The Sacrifice time
🍁Slightly usage of Mythology of Prahalad & his devil father relating to the investigation.

As I started reading, I knew this is going to be a super crime thriller after reading first few pages.
Due to Election & present situation, Political news is more on Social media, which is the reason, I could connect with the Political environment in the storyline too quickly.
The story seems to be presenting the mirror of our Political situation of the country infront of the readers.
I urged to know the reason behind the attack and as I read about the Past of Razzak, I recalled all the events of 2002.
I was truly impressed by how brilliantly the Author has maintained a thin thread between Fiction & Non-Fiction.

Ofcourse, the story made me wait & guess till the end but that's what makes a book a perfect thriller.
I couldn't understand how the story would end.
First half of the story is medium paced whereas second half is fast paced.
The story has so much to offer that I took my own time to finish this book so that I could digest all the facts clearly.
There comes a part in the story where the true nature of the PM becomes unpredictable and that's my favorite thrilling part.
I suggest readers not to judge this book by it's title.
If you are into Crime/Political thriller, this book proves to offer nail-biting storyline.
From my Reading experience, this book if adopted for a movie would do really well.
Overall this was a gripping read that made me feel like exploring more thrillers.

My favorite Line from this Book "Some people might call Patel a visionary leader. And Some might call him devious and even evil. Which one is he really?"

The Pulwama Aftermath by Pratik Shah Book Review: The threats of terrorism and terrorist attacks are a worldwide offense and this has been going on since decades. Maybe, during the days of the past this was not so much life threatening and only one world Trade Central saw it's fall in the hands of deadly terrorists! Earlier, when this concept of "Terrorism" started, I would frankly like to say and pinpoint out here a fact that it did not garnered so much of a media attention but now, things have drastically changed. Maybe, the terrorists try to put up a show only to prove to media outlets their camaraderie and to more and more assert this simple fact that they are forever invincible as because by now we all know that killing a man is way too much easy and also there are way too many people to back up terrorists. This book is only this one step closer to openly view out the naked fact that if an attack is to be done by the terrorists, they will anyhow do it and even the Prime Minister of a country is not safe from their wrath, I should say. But, the task forces of National Emergency and Security can seat with hands folded when the question of saving trillions of lives comes to the foreplay and so therefore, this book on the one hand showing the fact that terrorism is an act of National negligence and an act that exploits innocent and deprived souls and backstabs the foundation of the term "safety" in itself, on the other hand as well asserted a totally opposite and positive fact that there is always a light at the end of this tunnel and via the plot of this book this fact gets even more strongly proven. Therefore, in the narrative of the book, when there is a desperate ploy to kill the PM is going on, Vijay of the Joint Task Force and his box Prahlad Dev set to unfold crooked mysteries that has more to it than the naked eye can fathom. The events in the book takes place immediately after the Pulwama tragedy and the wounds of that nightmare has not even healed, when PM 's life comes at a stack. The book presents various shades of characters from various facades of life and professionalism into a drama of tragedy and turn of events followed by the ralley of the PM. The reality will struck here to the readers that to fulfill the selfish needs of certain pot bellied men, reluctant and innocent people are put into lives and narratives of others that are total baseless. A journalist hides her emotions to professionalism in the front of the camera when on a simple, normal day hundreds of people get killed only for a simple want to see the PM and no one knew what was waiting for them, their destiny ravaged them and a policewomen never knew that for moments apart, her life was forever going to change, though nothing was going to be good on her stressful day at work to welcome the PM in his roadshow. This book honestly has said that how power hungry monsters never even shudder to take away lives of people and political promises are always hollow. A good attempt by the author to present current political turbulences and terrorism turmoils, where terrorism has all shades of black colours from dark religious atrocities to psychological satisfactory fulfillments, this book is a must read for all.

-----------Pulwama Aftermath--------------
what do you expect from the title? To be something in continuation to the events that happened on the fateful day of 14th February 2019 and a possible retaliation.
Everything is done to avenge that through every means. "Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed"- Everything
from the author of "Operation Jai Mata Di", a gripping story of courage and valor, comes yet another story, a heart pounding narrative of a political thriller that took the nation by storm.

The author starts his tale by giving the reader an insight of a potential terror attack that can shake the peace of a nation. The narrative is gripping and reader is bound to glue his eyes
on the pages as the activities in the book advances. The author also manages to add the element of wittiness and a flavor of detective drama as the main protagonist of the story tries to
untie the Gordian knot.Various elements of surprise awaits the reader while a sinister plan is being orchestrated in the background. The plot runs across the states of western India and Pakistan
and gives glimpses of the mechanism of potential terror movements. the author also provides a digestible back plot of every person that had been involved in the plan, willingly or with the idea of revenge .
As the story advances, we come across various undercover movements and how swiftly they carry out their tasks. at the beginning, there is a description of blood and gore and as the story
moves further, the occurrence of violence and blood depiction somewhat declines, but to compensate there are descriptions of torture. The author puts down the pyramid of hierarchy of the members of the plot very brilliantly and shows how after ones job is done,
he is a feast for hell. As the stories reaches its end and diplomatic talks between countries take place to gain support for a potential war, the major plot twists awaits the reader and
he is left with awe and applause when the dust of war settles down. At the end, when the reader glances the front cover of the book, he realizes that the missing puzzle piece were pride, power and Sacrifice (not one alone).
An altogether addictive tale that one cant forget. The names of characters and organisations might sound oddly relatable (Ahem!). The flow of the plot jumps from one location to another but that doesn't break the narrative,
signifying the prowess of writing by the author. In my opinion, This story has the potential to be made into a series.

-----Final Verdict-----
Story:5/5
Narration:5/5
Factual Accuracy:5/5
Plot Twist:5/5
overall: 5/5

Politics, both National and International, is a game of decisions. Everyday, our leaders test the limits of what one can do to attain power in the society. But, how far is too far?

"The Pulwama Aftermath " by Pratik Shah is political thriller which explores a fictional reality where the Prime Minister of India suffers an attack from a criminal mastermind. The book takes us through the lives of those involved in the incident, both perpetrators and investigators, in the aftermath of the assault. The masterplan unravels slowly, as each character meets their fate and reveals to the reader their place in the evil game. In the end, as all the pieces fall into place, the reader is the one left disoriented.

I cannot begin to tell you all how much I loved this book. The author has exemplified his deep knowledge of the Indian Government and it's Politics in the most intricate manner, and the way he utilised that to write a mystery that never gets boring inspite of the numerous pieces of General Information that he put in the book, truly left me awestruck. The plot has been woven beautifully to reveal and conceal information from the reader at the appropriate places. Every plot twist blew my mind, which is tough when a book has a lot of them. I believe it is really difficult to write a good mystery plot without oversaturating with expositions and twists to the point where it gets predictable. The author has also tackled sensitive issues, such as religious terrorism, nationalism, and trauma with logic and has based their usage in reality, such that it ensures that the reader understands the character despite their prejudice. This part struck me because I was almost offended with some events in the book, thinking that it would be a predictable case of dehumanizing a community because of the actions of the few, but every time the author reassured me that 'predictable' is the one word I can't use to describe the book. Mr. Shah has truly achieved brilliance in this book, and for that I am forevermore a fan.

I truly, genuinely, and very seriously, recommend you to read this book.

I am very interested in Indian political events, so this book was quite an engaging read for me. I might be little biased here, but the book was very well written, though editing could be improved at some places, especially in the first few chapters of the book.

This book's premise loosely based on the media reports that claimed a particular political party's involvement in the Pulwama attack on the Indian security forces, to gain an advantage in the upcoming Indian elections. The author has done excellent work taking these allegations for the idea of the book. It was quite easy to correlate the characters of the book to their real-life counterparts. The names selected for the roles also bear a striking similarity to the real-life characters. The businessman's name was unique, though (or I think so).

It was strange that the plan to declare war on the neighbor did not face any opposition from anyone. Almost every character supported the decision, and the kind of support India received from the international community was something, I do not anticipate in real life. But then, it is a work of fiction, and the author had the liberty to assume whatever he wishes to.

It was a predictable story after a few chapters in the beginning. I would have liked to have some unexpected events such as the early death of some of the characters to keep the story more engaging.

The ending was apt. It signifies the fact that sometimes influential people start doing things which are wrong but carries good intentions according to them. It is nearly impossible to bring down such influential people sitting on higher posts, once they have people's mandate.

Lately, I have been into a lot of crime fiction, it is completely a new genre to me. And since then I got my hands on a few good books like this one, The Pulwama Aftermath by Pratik Shah. I initially thought it would be a book about how the lives of Indian people changed after the attack that happened, but to my surprise, it completely baffled me.

A fast-paced political crime thriller, with some relevant details of the past attack, is a book about the precious lives of the soldiers who lost their lives merely in the name of war, it is a tight slap on the faces who think power and politics are all that one needs for survival. I am totally into the spirit of the book. Each character is symbolic to someone from the real-life humans ruling the country, to know more I would ask you to read it because if I disclose it here, all the craze would be gone since the narration is quite particular with the unveiling. Early deaths of the character make it more interesting, and I totally loved Razzak, he is someone I kept looking to in the story.

In this work of fiction, many events jump out of real life, with a lot to add and subtract from what actually happened, but I condemn the acts of war, bloody politics and loss of lives. I instead dream of a world ruled by love, humanity and kindness.

🛫The Pulwama Attack was one of the horrific chapter in the history of times for India. It shook the nation from the very core.
As the title suggest, the book is totally based on the events and after effects of The Pulwama Attack.

🔭The book depicts the incidence of the attack on the prime minister which really blows the minds of the common people of the nation. Already The Pulwama Attack filled the people with a state of chaos and feeling of anger and this was an add on, which spreads the fuel on the fire and aggravated it.

🔭The armed forces and the intelligence forces, all gathered up to fight against this situation and tried their best to reach to the mystery behind the attack.

🔭The book shows the research and the struggle very intricately, it describes the events in such a way that it almost feels real to the reader.

🍁This book is clearly a master piece shedding a lot of information about the attack in a raw manner.

🍁The writing style is good, also the narration is enchanting.

🎀Rating - 4.5/5⭐

❤️I will definitely recommend all the fellow citizens of India to read this book for atleast once. It's definitely worth the time.

Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The book inspired by the theam Of patriotism and revenge that was fuled within every Indian 🇮🇳 after the Pulwama attach on the convoy of the India soldiers, this is an amazing piece of fiction

A lot of characters bare similarities to the political and operational structure of India , but the plot and its progress is fictional.

There is a lot is violence and thought justified, if you don’t like it, this book is not for you . The storyline is fresh and keeps you on the edge throughout, also it is minimally predictable and I couldn’t even guess the end till the very end .

The attack on the prime minister was a totally horrifying image that I just couldn’t digest, but the entire story revolves around it .

This book is an amazing crime novel and the genre lovers should definitely give this book a try .

♥️ the flow of the plot is constant and fast
♥️ character building is fast and precise

This book was my first book based on political situations and frankly speaking I am happy that I picked up this book. Obviously it was the title that caught my attention in the first place.

The Pulwama Aftermath is an amazing read that keeps you wondering how the nation works. Though a fiction, it created a deep impact and I found few characters very similar to the present political scenario.

The plot revolves around the Pulwama attack that shook our nation. The narration is simple and the characters are very well developed.

A well researched book that gives information on the political realities. Wonderful read for the weekend.

"The Pulwama Aftermath" is a political crime thriller book by Pratik Shah. As the title of the book gives us an idea that it must be related with the Pulwama attack which created huge impact on the entire nation. It also shows the attack on the prime minister which shocked the people of our country. The research done by the author and efforts put up by him in writing the book can be clearly seen by reading it and one can gain a lot of knowledge after reading this book. The book contains a lot of violence but the theme of this book is the reason behind that and everyone is recommended to read this book.

A good effort by Pratik Shah. It starts off well, with its main plots and sub-plots, but somewhere down the line, the plot becomes too incredible. I would not want to play the 'spoiler'. But the end is not easy to believe. I wish there was more to it. The characters are easy to relate to and their mannerisms would definitely match their real life counterparts. The violence is graphic, the language is easy and the tale keeps you glued to the book. A goodread if you are spending time at bus stations/airports/metros with time to kill and distractions around you.

They say books are better than movies. Movies delete the actual essence. They are right. I've watched similar movies based on the content narrated in this book which actually makes one easily hop on over the journey through which the author carries his readers with ease although his work involves true efforts and a thorough research as work like this requires way too much information. I've like the rich narration made by the author whereas the epilogue is way more than just commendable with good sort of words.
A real read with true efforts.

A perfect crime thriller book with a new and fresh content. Pulwama attack was very shocking for the whole nation but this book is a story of the after attack on PM which was very sudden and shocking. The story is a combination of both fiction and non fiction perfectly balanced. It has elements of crime , action , thriller , suspense , mystery and politics it is kind of a patriotic book.
A must read for everyone . Language used is simple and easy to understand and narration done is very well .
Much recommended 👍

Good read

The story starts with the attempt of assassination of PM And thus deliberately included IB, RAW, and so-called departments into the plot. In a few of the place it felt like instead of cutting short the words into a sentence, the author presented it in a full lengthy paragraph. Despite that, the plot is good. Though it is a fictitious plot, the characterization and the naming is somewhat similar to reality. The plot is systematically and artistically developed.

I will like to recommend this to all the Patriots.

Hair Raising, Jaw Dropping Thriller

Here is another thrilling book by Pratik Shah with nail-biting twists and turns, always kept my brain on its toes about what next lies ahead. Ending was kind of chapter with low in adrenaline. Plz keep writing to 'keep up your good work', without ref to any live or lookalike parties, politicians. Your Imagineering might hurt the feelings of 'followers'. Wonderful story n excellent delivery. Wish you good luck!

A political thriller, Characters are almost similar to the present Indian politics or political parties, however it’s a work of fiction. The ending of the book is amazing. Unimaginable story, holds the grip till the end. A movie can be made on this suspense, political thriller fiction. A must-read book.
