DNF'd at 50% I liked the story but seriously Casi was getting on my nerves. I mean she literally acted like a typical model. I don't know if she gets better over the book but I could not read anymore of Jake's and Casi's screwed up relationship. There was so much back and forth and so much of cheating in the story I just couldn't take it anymore. I guess I'm simply not cut out for the model world XD
Back in the days, I was a huge fan of soap operas. I know that it was a lot of harsh judgment about those stories. In my opinion, it was a great way to escape reality and I have been hooked on some wonderful storylines over time. Catwalk: Dream is a book that is reminiscent of what I liked the most in Soap Operas: drama, twist, and love.
S.Q. Orpin is taking us into the highs and lows of a swimsuit model that wants to break the monotony of her life. Casi is about to turn 30 and, in the fashion industry, it is not exactly what is considered to be new and exciting any longer. She is feeling that something is missing and tries to find out her identity and what to do with her life. Glamor and night clubs is where Casi is feeling at home. When she met Kyle, that is living a simple life outside of the city, there are many roads that she can choose to travel. Their relationship was challenging and entertaining right from the start.
Casi is one of those characters that sometimes I love, other time I just can’t stand her. Her life was not all glitters and rainbows but she made her way steadily in the fashion industry. She has a dark side that is really provocative and she struggled with some addiction throughout the story. I really liked to see how she was evolving and the setback that she encounters while trying to make a better life for herself. Glamor and beauty have been her top values for such a long time, now she is going through a real shock value in her life. I also have to mention her mother, that is completely so superficial, and can be wicked at time. A character that I love to hate (like those wicked ladies in soap operas)!!!
It is a book full of shocking moments, excess, great torrid scenes: everything that is needed to make a great book! I was so into it that I read it in 2 days. Let me tell you that I am looking forward to reading the second book in this series. I am so grateful to have had this book given to me from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

My Review: I enjoyed this book a lot, then it ended. So many things unresolved. Yes, major things were done and agreed on, but too many other things were still hanging out there.
I liked the characters, Casi and Kyle. They made a really good couple fighting each other and then working together. Typical, but it works well. Jake and Kyle have more history to reveal, I think. What's Lia up to now? And is Sonya repeating history? Well, I guess it's a good thing that Catwalk, Hope #2 came out in 2016 so I can catch up on what's going on. And Catwalk, Trust #3 is out as well. You know how much I love to find myself at the end of a book and not having the whole story. For that and other bits and pieces, I have to give this a strong three and a half stars. I think I'll read the other two and review them together as a series review later on when there's time in my schedule.
But I do recommend this to any romance reader of contemporary romance. Good storyline and great characters. I was totally engaged until it ended.
This was a great love story. I was cheering for Casi (the main character) and fell in love with Kyle, who is a master woodworker and [*fan face*] so very hot. The whiskey cake recipe at the end was a surprise bonus! Can't wait to grab the next book in the series!
I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the characters and the soap opera quality to the story. However, there were many, many errors in it though (tense, typos, etc). I look forward to reading more by this author in the future. It definitely seemed like a "first" book--but a good start.

👉Talking about the title of the book, the title of the book is really so interesting to read. Destiny is Rewritten when Dreams are Shattered “ by S. Q. Things completely change for her when she meets with an accident that leaves physical scars. Then comes Kyle Jensen, who feels sparks with Casi in the first meeting. Is Casi the right girl for Kyle who’ll help him achieve his dreams? Is Casi courageous enough to choose Kyle over the spotlight?

Dream: Destiny is rewritten when Dreams are Shattered is the first book in the Catwalk Series written by S.Q. Orpin. This book focuses on the life of celebrities models how they look so wholesome and happy on the social media but their life is nothing like that in real.

Enters the most genuine and cool character I have read, Kyle Jensen, who has built his life in Washington and has a brother and his life is quite sorted out and planned. But when he meets Casy during work and slowly starts falling for her, he starts considering where seriously his life was planned and sorted out or he needs to change his life for making place for Casy in it. Will they be able to make it, will they find soulmates in each other is what this book covers.
The book is interesting and it was fun to read about the life of models, the character development was done well and language used is simple but intriguing. This is a book that if you get into you'll finish in one sitting.
This book is for the lovers of romantic and drama genre lovers, and should definitely give it a try.

Can Casi step away from the spotlight and take a chance on love and explore new opportunities? Will Kyle risk his idyllic life to follow his heart? Do they dare to dream of a future together? Well, the plot seemed interesting enough and well written, but I didn’t like Casi. I’m not into the modeling thing and she was definitely written to be one of the superficial ones. There was a lot of drama and twists to keep you on your toes though. In the end, it really wasn’t for me though. It’s just not my kind of book. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
In other words, not for me but possibly for you. I was going to say that you don't get a situation like this where everything works out perfectly and everybody's happy with one another, not with all these sexual entanglements and break ups and unhappiness; it just doesn't work out all that nicely at the end. However, I see that there's another book coming ... So I won't say that because the tale still has a chance to be realistic as well as romantic. It's still not for me but I don't regard as being an evil book. In my world, there are slip ups but people don't regard constant sexual turnover as normal. There is such a thing as virginity and love that can mature slowly without the stimulant of titillation. On the other hand, people who live wildly in their youth still need to chance to have a decent relationship. But I found with my own kids that reading romances like this gave a very unrealistic view of sex and slowed their path towards fulfilled love. I had hoped because the writing was so good and perceptive that possibly another way to do things might have been presented , but I was disappointed. Still, if you like this kind of thing you will like this kind of thing.
Set in the Los Angeles modeling world, Casi Roberts is on top. By day, she is a swimsuit model, and, by night, she lives in the clubs. She also has a celebrity boyfriend, and documents everything on social media.
A chance encounter with (extremely handsome) master carpenter Kyle Jensen changes everything. Their relationship gets pretty passionate, until Casi pushes him away, with help from some "industrial strength" painkillers. She acquired them from another model after a hit and run accident put her in the hospital. Along with Casi's physical scars, emotional scars from her troubled past come forward. Does Casi get Kyle back? Are Casi and Kyle ready to take a chance on love?
This is a very interesting book. It's got romance, beautiful women and a little bit of sex. It's also a captivating and engaging story. This gets 4 stars (maybe 4.5 stars).
"Dream" is a poignant, passionate tale of self-discovery, love, and redemption, masterfully weaving together two disparate worlds.
Standout Elements:
1. Complex, relatable characters: Casi Roberts and Kyle Jensen. 2. Emotional depth: Exploring scars, insecurities, and personal growth. 3. Vivid settings: Glitzy Los Angeles and serene Blackberry Falls.
Casi, a stunning swimsuit model, and Kyle, a rugged craftsman, collide after a tragic accident. Their chance encounter sparks a journey of self-discovery, forcing them to confront past demons and reevaluate their futures.
It’s a soul-stirring romance that will resonate with readers. With its authentic characters, emotional depth, and sensual chemistry, this novel is a must-read.
Swimsuit model Casi Roberts is at the top of her field but her days go by without much excitement for her. She models by day and hits the clubs at night. She lives with her boy friend but no real love between them. Kyle Jensen is a man's man who does custom woodwork. They meet when he is doing a job in her apartment house. He is from Washington and she from LA. Can they meet some where in the middle between their busy lives. He has his business and his brother he is very close to while she has her work in LA. Then there are family & friends who think they are too different but they love each other. Can they make it work?
Interesting tale “Dream” is a typical tale of what everyone thinks of in the modeling world. Casi thinks she is at the end of her career because she is about to turn 30. How she handles it is very disappointing for me, as it took an accident and a normal everyday guy to turn her around to find out what she really needed to do with her life. I had hoped for more realistic challenges for Casi, to see what she would do with her degree and what she brings to the table in her relationship with Kyle. “Dream” is an entertainingly long tale and a good read. This book dives into the glamorous, gritty, and emotionally charged lives of two characters from starkly different worlds. Casi’s transformation from a social media star caught in a cycle of superficiality and trauma, to a woman daring to embrace vulnerability and authenticity is compelling, though at times her growth feels uneven. Kyle, on the other hand, is a steady, grounding force, and their chemistry is undeniable. The story is fast-paced with emotional depth, offering both steamy romance and meaningful themes like self-worth, healing, and love that challenges comfort zones. A great read for those who enjoy drama-rich romance with heart and heat.
Dream is the kind of book that pulls you into two worlds at once the glossy, high-glam surface of fame and the raw, aching reality that hides underneath. S.Q. Orpin writes with cinematic flair, painting the modeling world in all its seductive light and dangerous shadows.
Casi Roberts is a fascinating protagonist, confident, beautiful, and deeply flawed. Beneath her picture-perfect life lies a woman scarred by trauma, battling to rediscover her worth. Her journey after the accident is not just about healing physically, but emotionally, learning to love herself again in a world obsessed with perfection.
Dream is the perfect blend of glitz, heartbreak, and second chances. Casi’s glamorous Los Angeles life may look enviable, but behind the lights and fame is a woman struggling to heal from scars, both visible and hidden. When she collides with Kyle, a grounded craftsman from Blackberry Falls, their worlds couldn’t be more different, yet their connection feels undeniable. This story had me hooked with its mix of raw emotion, sizzling chemistry, and heartfelt exploration of love beyond appearances. A romance that makes you believe in daring to chase happiness, no matter the risks.
Dream was a great and entertaining story. I really loved and connected with the characters. This is the perfect book to pick up in the summer and I can't wait to read book number two in this series, "Hope".
This was the first time I have read a book by Suzy Orpin and I enjoyed it. This was a fast entertaining read that I did not want to stop enjoying. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.
Loved this book. Not the typical guy meets girl falls in love book. There are twists and turns and a great little treat at the end that I'm definitely gonna love. Must read the series..
Ms. Orpin spins a tale of what happens when one day you're living the high life and being carefree, and then one day, an accident occurs and you find out who your true friends are and what you're made of. I found Dream to be a wonderful tale of life and what happens when all that you know is ripped away. This was a fun, quick, and engrossing read. I can not wait to read the next book.
This was a really fun read It is the first I have read by this author and I am looking forward to reading more in the future.Casi and Kyle were a great couple this book had really great characters they were all very believable and real you won't be able to dislike them. This was a very entertaining book and I really enjoyed it
