I have been impatiently waiting for the Whittaker matriarch’s story for what feels like forever, and now I finally get it. Squee! This story didn’t quite put me through the wringer, but it certainly gave my emotions a workout. I adore the fact that this is a love story in the silver generation; proving that love has no age limit. It also shows us that while age brings wisdom, we also get set in our ways. Making changes becomes a much bigger task, and communication and compromise become vitally important. Amanda and Finn are adorable together. While I hated to see them struggle to reconcile their routines with their new relationship, I loved watching them blend their families. I’m also so very glad to know that this wasn’t the last Christmas we’ll spend in Coral Canyon. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I love this book. The challenges of merging two families, regardless of the age of the participants, can be phenomenal. Especially when one person lives far enough away from the other that distance can add to the separation.
But when love tugs at the heart, can distance be an issue? Or perhaps it’s just an excuse so one doesn’t have to truly commit. But then there’s that heart tug again. Is the life I used to have, which is now only memories, carry me through the dark times of aloneness and fulfill me enough? Or can I let go of the past and move forward in a new love. Heart tug.
As a mature woman myself, to think of the possibilities of a new love lightens my heart.
Buy the book. Light a candle and read a little romance.
This story pulled me in and kept me there. I could so relate to Amanda. Her problems were not contrived, but very realistic. Finn was such a good man, who truly waned to make things work. It was refreshing that both characters were open and honest about their feelings and themselves. Finn and Amanda felt so real. I was invested in their lives and their happiness. I was cheering for them. The family relationships make the story much more real. The twist tie ring at the end made my day.
I love Liz Isaacson’s Whittaker Family novels and Her Cowboy Billionaire Blind Date is the seventh in the series and is the matriarch of the Whittaker family. Amanda raised her four boys while her husband built a billion-dollar company. When her oldest son fixes her up with one of his friend’s things become an adventure you won’t want to miss! Finn had a bad marriage that turned him off on relationships. When Amanda and Finn get together…let’s just say it’s worth reading! This book is full of love, surprises and a memorable Christmas celebration.
This is a lovely story of Finn Barber and Amanda Whittaker finding fulfillment, companionship and love later in their lives. Finn is a horse trainer, a divorcee with adult children. Amanda is a widow, matriarch of the Whittaker clan, her four sons and their burgeoning families. Starting their relationship on a blind date, it grows simply but deeply. They confront a few twists and dilemmas, but with help from family they find the way to a beautiful, mature conclusion.
Her son's had been pestering her about arranging a date. Finally she accepted but they wouldn't tell her anything about him. She was surprised how attracted to him she was. But she didn't want to live on a farm. Finn wasn't wanting to give up his farm and horses. Amanda was very active in Coral Canyon At first it looked like it wouldn't work it's way out. A very good story. With characters you would love to meet and a town you'd love live.
I love this series, the romance, the families involved, and the happy endings. This story about the mother, Amanda Whittaker, brought out a lot of emotions for me as an older, more recent widow. I could relate to most of her feelings, although my adult sons and families live in different states. I still live in the house my husband and I built, surrounded by decades of memories. My sons haven't fixed me with a blind date, nor have I dated like Amanda did. Plenty of food for thought here, though. I loved her choices and the ending.
I want to go to Whiskey Mountain Lodge! Amanda’s story does not disappoint! Amanda’s son arranges a blind date with a friend, Finn. They are instantly attracted to each other but Amanda, a widow, needs to let go of the past and move on. The interaction between her and her sons and grandchildren is great. And I love that this is a story about older characters! Don’t miss this new short-read from Liz Isaacson!
A cute, fun, and clean older romance story. This well written entertaining stoyline had me engaged throughout with a few twists and turns. The strong interesting characters had good chemistry, need to learn to love and trust again with alot to overcome, learning to be open and honest about their feelings and themselves while facing the challenges of dating and starting over. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
I have to say I read this one out of order. It wasn’t a problem, but I did have some background before I started reading this book. I love this series. The big family just keeps growing as they add more spouses and children. The stories deal with real issues that people have, and the comfort that God gives us when we let Him lead. I especially liked the way that one of the people had to get out of their own way in order to find their joy. I enjoy these and look forward to more!
It's hard to think about the loneliness of being a widow and living alone. And it's almost impossible to imagine being married a second time now that I have grown children as well as grandchildren that i would need to merge with someone else's life and family. So many variables! Such was the story in this book about Amanda and Finn. It was true to life, in some places sad and confusing, and in other places happy and romantic. They were great characters and this is a wonderful story! I have really loved this series about the Whittaker family and this installment did not disappoint! Highly recommend! I was entrusted with a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A sweet story of older adults finding love and romance for the second time in their lives. Graham set his mother up on a blind date with a friend of his. Amanda did not want to date a cowboy and thought Graham understood that requirement, however, on their second date she found that Finn was in fact a cowboy. Will Amanda get past this or will the feelings they both seem to have be ignored?
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Another great book in this series by Liz Isaacson. In this book the matriarch of the series finds a second love in a blind date. Complications arise because he lives 30 minutes away from her and her family, and she isn’t ready to see her house, and he is estranged from his parents. The way she worked out all the situations was interesting.
It is amazing how differently we view obstacles. There was a point in this novel that I almost didn’t finish it because a lot of what they considered obstacles to me were to me inconveniences, especially with the wealth involved. Then I realized that each of us are different and have different priorities and different people put more sentimental value than others do at times. I was glad I finished it and it left a smile on my face.
Amanda and Finn's story is a sweet one. Amanda is a widow and is tired of dating the wrong men. Finn has been divorced for a while and hasn't dated too much since. Amanda's son Graham sets them up on a blind date but they both aren't sure if they for into each other's worlds. I have read many books by this author and loved a lot of them. This one was a little slower than I'd like but it was still a good book.
Sweet, clean romance. A little different than the rest of the series since this one is about the mom instead of the brothers. But I liked both main characters. I liked that they acted mature about things. For a while it didn't seem like their could be an ever after that was "happily" for both of them but it worked out okay.
No sex, language or violence. Light on Christian themes.
As a person who was widowed at 59, I know how hard it is to consider dating and remarrying. Liz Isaacson gives a realistic look at the feelings involved in that decision. I loved how involved Amanda’s sons were in getting her to date and specifically to date Finn. It was fun to watch their romance unfold. Strong characterizations and an entertaining story line make this book fun to read.
Amanda is a widower of several years. Her sons set her up on a blind date. Finn has been divorced and is lonely. There's a spark between them but Amanda can't let go of the past and Finn doesn't want to give up his farm. Lovely to read a book about more mature people. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Awe, so much love in this family. So much compassion and desire to help everyone find happiness. It is really wonderful to see the Whittaker men care so much for their mother that they help her find love again. It's very rare for grown children to show so much compassion to want their mother to have someone for her to lean on. Warm fuzzies all around~
Amanda's sons set her up on a blind date. No cowboys. Meeting Finn and hitting it off. Things slowly progressed. Finn found himself falling for Amanda but wasn't sure at their age how things would work out. Amanda finds herself liking cowboys after all. Sweet clean romance. Enjoyed the story.
I loved the family atmosphere of the Whittaker family I have met before in other books. The love story of Fin & Amanda is a refreshing story with Fin sharing so much of how he was feeling. Also I loved that this story was about an older couple. Some times when we are so close to a problem it is hard to see easy solutions.
Love the characters and its' to see children caring enough for at their mom to set up a blind date for their. Lots of laughs & plenty of mixed emotions. Who says you are too old to marry!! Lots of great twists & turns, you won't want to put this book down.
After this series starting off right after Amanda suffered tremendous heartbreak, and seeing her trying to find another love throughout the previous books, I’m so excited that her time came and got a full length read dedicated to it!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher an am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
After so her billionaire sons have find love, Amanda decides it's time for her to be happy and in love too. Of course this gives her sons the perfect chance to play matchmaker and boy do they ever!! Can Amanda find space in her great for the part and for the love being offered now?
I enjoyed about how Finn and Amanda started getting to know each other after Amanda's son sets them up on a blind date. At first, each thought they were too set in their ways for a relationship to flourish. After much soul-searching, they found their way back together. Humorous moments, great family interactions. Nice descriptions of the Lodge and other places.
I loved reading about Amanda and Finnley, an older couple. Both have been married before and ready to meet someone new. It's not about needing someone to be happy but to not be lonely. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I really enjoyed reading this book! This is a love story about two people in their later years. It is a really sweet story with lots of twists and turns. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance stories!
Another really great book by Liz Isaacson. I loved Amanda and Finn's. It grabbed my attention from the beginning and I didn't want to put it down. I loved that this was an older couple.
Amanda's son sets her up on a blind date with Finn, a younger man. I enjoy reading about "older" couples falling in love. There was some angst that frustrated me just a little but.... I love the Whittaker family and hope the author never runs out of family to write about.
