I feel in love with these characters from the start of the story. This book was such a good read I couldn't put it down. I would love to read more about this couple and Preston's pack.

First time reading this author and I love the book! It had my attention from the beginning to the end!! Preston and Samantha were hot and steamy! The storyline was on point and I really enjoyed reading this paranormal! Not into shape shifter and stuff but this I will read!! Can’t wait for the next one! New fan😊

OMG Zoe Ray did it again!!!
Loved this book!!!! I couldn’t put it down since reading page 1. The suspense, the visual details as you read it you can see it all unfold in your mind. Every character in this book has the characteristics of some one you know.

Good read
My first read by this author but won't be the last. Preston was surely an Alpha. He demanded respect with just his presence. So happy him and Sam met. From day one he knew what it was and made sure she knew too. Overall good read

This story seemed like it was more of a draft than an edited completed book. The characters were flat and one dimensional, they really lacked any personality.
Sam was all over the place, panic was used a lot in reference to her and it got rather old. I was hoping she and Preston would heat up the pages but it didn’t come to pass.
Unfortunately the flow and tempo was stilted and that made it difficult to enjoy.

MC iS....
Predictability is fine in a plot if the characters are great. But Sam in this book was whinny and unreasonable often, weirdly bloodthirsty in a few lines, and obnoxiously confident and then uncertain at other times. I thought this would be a great quick enjoyable “mate” romance.... and it was. But the MC was too annoying to really enjoy the book.

When Samantha Davis walked into ASC for a job interview, she never expected to yell at a grumpy man in the elevator that she was strangely drawn to. But when said grumpy man turns out to be the CEO of the company she can only hope she hasn’t ruined her chances at a job.
Preston Jones is an Alpha, it’s not in his nature to worry about other peoples feeling. That is, until he meets a feisty young woman in the elevator of his company, and instantly knows that she is his mate. As he struggles with his need to claim her and show her who her alpha is, threats to their relationship arise, some even within his own organization.
This was a really good PNR/Office Romance. I enjoyed the world building and the witty banter between the characters. I will say, there were a few things I didn’t like about the story. First, I found Sam to be kinda immature at times, she liked to throw tantrums and blow things way out of proportion. Second, I didn’t like that Preston treated Sam like she was lesser than him just because she was human, one minute she was his mate and equal, and the next she was to weak to help with the pack and her job was to deal with the women things in the pack. I do think however, that both Sam and Preston had tremendous growth throughout this book, and by the end, they were both more likable characters. This book is book 1 in a series, however it doesn’t necessarily end on a cliffhanger. It ends more with a HFN rather than an HEA or Cliffhanger. I am looking forward to see how Sam and Prestons story ends.

This was easily one of the best African American PNRs I’ve read, and I can’t wait to read more from Zoe Ray! The story felt real and relatable despite the PNR elements. Head’s up: The story is super insta-lovey. Most of the story takes place in roughly a week’s time. This story could have just as easily been a contemporary romance without those elements. The main characters, while they have their moments of bossiness and being over-the-top for Preston and at times ridiculous amounts of uncertainty/insecurity for Samantha they are likeable. The scene with Sam’s ex was unnecessary, though. The supporting characters make you wish you had friends and family like them if you didn’t, and if you do, should make you appreciate them that much more. BIG POINTS for editing. I love reading stories by AA authors, particularly AA PNR; but, often times, the editing—or lack thereof--leaves MUCH to be desired which makes the stories hard to read or to follow due to so many errors. This writing and editing in this story are very fluid. You just want to keep reading until there’s nothing left and keep reading after that. So, while it’s not the most mature story, I found it a great way to pass the time and forget about some of my troubles and all the crazy going on in the world.

Wolf Shifter Preston Jacobs, CEO of Alpha Security Corporation, gets quite a shock when he meets job interviewee Samantha 'Sam' Davis in the elevator.
"Preston was doing everything in his power to control his animal, but it was clear what the beast wanted.
Mate. Mate. Mate. Mate."
Well, at least we got that clear :)
And Sam is instantly attracted to "the biggest sexiest man she had ever seen in her life."
We're only on Page 7 - unless Karma throws an obstacle in their way there'll be no need for a second chapter!
Ah! She doesn't start working as Preston's executive assistant until the following day - which allows her to fantasise enthusiastically about sex with him, while (outside her apartment in the shadows) Preston, whose wolf's enhanced hearing allows him to hear her moans, is lucky not to be caught in an act of gross indecency!
He's an Alpha, she's more than capable of standing up for herself ... but there is the slight "I'm a wolf" thing between them.
It's all too sweet for me, even the introduction of the evil Marcos, "he looked like a movie villain", couldn't lift it.
It's not particularly well written but it flows fairly well.
If you like pretty simplistic Shifter Romance, then you will not be disappointed.
I don't, so it is 2 Stars.

Sam find job through her friend and ends up hired by the CEO of the Alpha Security, being Preston's secretary and quickly becoming his mate. She was trying to fight the connection between her and Preston, things break loose not long after he tells her he's actually the Alpha wolf of his pack. Marcos, his ex best friend, who was greedy for power and wanted Preston dead to take over everything as Alpha, even threatened Sam by telling he plans to take her to mate and share with his own pack. But as fight ensues, Marcos disappears, forcing them to regroup and go on the offense. Things turn wrong when Preston and Sam returns home, his family was held hostage to force Preston's hand to give up but Sam wasn't having it and proves herself as the Alpha female as they all break lose and take down Marcos and the goons.
Very fast paced with fastest hookup to wedding plans. At least the story was written well enough to keep me into the book from beginning to end and with sexual attraction and activities. I give this four cups of steaming java, ☕☕☕☕.

Great story! "Alpha Boss" is an exciting wolf shifter romance full of action, love and passion. When Preston meets Sam he knows she is his mate. Sam feels the attraction but is careful. She's been hurt before. Can Preston get her to give him a chance? Will she be willing to accept all of him? He's so much more than her Alpha boss. Sam is more than his capable executive assistant. For anyone who has ever asked what does a woman bring to the table, this book answers that question. This story has likable multilayered characters, good dialogue, descriptive worldbuilding details, suspense, drama, action, good supporting cast, sizzling chemistry and detailed love scenes. I really enjoyed this one! Have to love a man who pursues a woman he wants and a woman who can hold her own - bending but never breaking. 5 stars

SO GLAD I READ THIS BOOK!
So I found this author in an online group and was asked to read the book to do a review. So glad I did. I'm new to the shifter romances and was pleasantly surprised. this book was so good The chemistry between Sam and Preston was intense from the start and you could feel it from their first interaction. Even though this is a shifter romance, the focus is on Sam and Preston's attraction to each other, which I appreciated. Preston was determined to make Sam his and he put it out there in no uncertain terms. Along with the romance, there was enough steamy love scenes to keep you satisfied and an action packed bar scene towards the end. I am hoping this becomes a series. I don't know if this author is new, but I so enjoyed this and am looking for more from her soon.

This was cute, very steamy, and a wonderful start to a new series. I loved how Preston and Samantha were in a bit of a tug-of-war. It was like foreplay for sure. Preston with his grumpy self was no match for Samantha. But I love with these shifter stories how there's that instant knowledge of "MATE."
The only thing I didn't like about it was that I thought Samantha was too accepting of Preston's world and acclimated way too quickly. I guess it seemed like it should have been more of a struggle. That's just me.
This is my first book by this author and I will continue on with the series. It had to be good, it's not even on audio!

My favorite part of this story was Preston from the moment he is introduced he steals the scene. He alpha possessive ways are true to an alpha wolf which he is through and through. Sam was a fun MC and she was feisty which I loved. My only issues with the story is the dialogue was repetitive and trivial at moments. There was also the pothole of Sams ex which was this looming character which drove her not to trust Preston but we never fully know what happened during their relationship. Overall, a great read and I recommend this book if you love alpha possessive men.

Wild ride from start to finish! Full of action and Action (™). I think my favorite was how BA Sam is from page one, she doesn't just accept Preston's plans and OTT behavior. I also did deeply love that Preston had less than an ounce of chill. I wish there had been more development among the characters and a little more time in the book - it is a shorty! - but I would probably shelve it as a novella. I am very interested in the rest of this series though! I feel like Lisa and Micheal both deserve some love. Not to mention Paris and Persia!

I also didn’t like Sam & her inside or out loud dialogue with herself or anyone else. For someone who’s supposed to be smart she says really dumb things. I don’t think he should of ever hired her cause I felt uncomfortable reading how he keeps crossing the lines between an employee & employer. I dislike them both! I couldn’t take reading this any longer. I stopped at chapter 9.

Very good book.I loved the storyline. You gave me it all drama and romance.I'm glad he was able to start to rebuild her self-esteem.. I keep trying to figure out how Lisa knew about the job and Marco came out of left field.I can't believe Sam killed Marco I had assumed she didn't get a wolf because of other books and how fast they know.But why you end it like that hopefully I get an update on the fam

Alpha male with a strong willed woman
This is a story about woman who quits her job to start over doin something different. Her friend gets her an interview. When she arrives she is insulted by a look. She feel the need to confront this person. Not sure why, other than an was just being mean. Then the gentleman becomes difficult. Sam has to back track a bit.She also runs not and cold as does her boss. Good read.

Not what I thought it would be. The story itself was predictable and the characters were bland and annoying. I'm tired of the "alpha", I'm in charge, "you're mine" man and the whiney "I'm an adult. You can't tell me what to do", woman. It's boring. The only thing they have in common is a physical, sexual, attraction. They knew nothing about one another but they're somehow deeply connected and in love. I know there's a second book and the series might get better but I'm not willing to find out.

This very well written book 1 in The Alpha Boss Romance Series has an interesting story with an alpha wolf boss and his mate. These characters are very well constructed with depth, personality and chemistry. This story has many twists and turns. This story with action, adventure and romance. This has a great plot and I enjoyed it very much. What a wonderful story
