Sebastian Shark is on the verge of realizing his dream. The Edge—the most luxurious Los Angeles skyscraper ever conceived—will be his legacy, an icon to dominate LA’s skyline just as Shark dominates its boardrooms.
Self-made businesswoman Abbigail Gibson is on a trajectory toward massive success, but to get there, she must navigate the egos of her demanding clients—particularly the driven and obstinate Shark, who possesses the special talent of aggravating and arousing her within the same breath.
They are a collision of chemistry, but is their potent attraction toward each other worth losing sight of their ultimate goals? Taking a bite of passion has never carried more risk—or promised sweeter reward.
Fate has other ideas, however, as Sebastian is targeted by unknown enemies and Abbi is caught in the fray. Will the danger draw them closer or drive them apart?

You all thought you’d seen the best of these two authors... well, the best is yet to come!!
Shark’s Edge is phenomenal. A mixture of suspense, passion, mystery, and of course romance. From page one till the very end, I was on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t help but fall in love with these characters and I’m so deeply invested in these characters' lives, and the world the authors have created. Completely addicted!
-- I was fortunate enough to be able to BETA read this book. These two authors are two of a kind and are in my top 10. So it was a given that I would love the book, what wasn't expecting was just how much I would love it, and just how much it would consume me. I am obsessed with this plot, these characters, and the suspense! It's kept me on my toes.
Sebastian Shark is a self-made billionaire, who has built his empire at a young age and succeeded in doing so. He is arrogant, dominant and alpha as they come. He's the type of man that will bring a woman to her knees with just one look, and if I'm honest, I'll gladly be that woman. He's in a league of his own and the authors pieced together the perfect man in my eyes. At first, he is very straight forward and extra arrogant, but I think that's what first had me so fixated on him but as the story unfolds, you start to see different sides to him, but one thing is for sure. That arrogance in him is never really that far away. It goes without saying just how much I freaking loved Sebastian. The alpha males these authors write are some of the best alpha male romances I've ever read and this book just raised that bar so epically high!
Abbigail Gibson is also a self-made business owner. She owns her own catering company and works alongside her best friend Rio. Abbi delivers to several places throughout LA, and Sebastian Shark is one of them. Abbi has been lusting over Mr. Shark for a while now. Every day she delivers him his lunch, she gets a glimpse at the man that she can't help but fantasizes about. Little did she know that everything she wanted and was lusted over wanted her too. She had caught his eye too...
I LOVE ABBI! She wasn't one of those over the top sassy, strong, outspoken heroines 0r a weak one either, she was human, she had flaws, she had emotions... just like all of us... She had insecurities. I could relate to her on so many levels and as much as I love a strong and fierce heroine, it was refreshing to read one that I could relate to in some way.
As the story unfolds, we watch these two play tug of war with each other and their feelings and the sexual tension rises and they can't seem to keep away from each other. Sebastian is ruthless when it comes to Abbi. He's domineering and controlling and protective. The push and pull and the chemistry between these two pulsated around them every time they were in the same room. It was intoxicating and had me squirming in my seat.
But, things are never that easy are they? So much happened throughout book one, it had my head spinning. I loved these characters SO MUCH. Sebastian's dominant, controlling, arrogant side, and Abbi's innocence, yet she carried herself with pride.
The secondary characters play such a massive roll in this first book that it has me intrigued on where the authors are going to go with them too.
I went into this book open-minded. Expecting nothing and everything all in one and I got EVERYTHING and more and what transpires just in the first book is what really sets this series up and what I predict will be an epic ride full of twists and turns and heart-pounding events that will keep us on the edge of our seats.
I am hooked. Completely hooked.
I can't recommend this enough. This is my TOP read for 2019. Without a doubt!
What a great writing team!!! I've read Angel before but this is a first for victoria. They have written a great storyline that is full of hot sexy scenes with characters that were both likeable and intriguing. Sebastian is a force of nature with a dominant personality that has his sites set on abbi and whatever it takes he's willing to do,but even though abbi has had a thing for him she has her dreams and it's a constant battle of wills and if she's not careful it maybe her heart that takes the hit. Someone is out to destroy Sebastian so it adds a bit of suspense to already simmering pot. I love a lot of the secondary characters as well from Grant Sebastian best friend and business partner and Rio abbi's sister in law and catering partner. Over all this was a enjoyable read that kept me interested and entertained. It did end on a cliffhanger, but I loved how they wrapped up and gave sebastian and abbi their moment! Until next time live 💋💞
I won this book from bookishfirst so thank you to them and the publisher WaterHouse press for this copy.

I have been wondering about Shark's Edge for a while now. I read many good reviews about it. I am surprise to find how small number of reviewers read this book.
Shark's Edge is pretty good. I like Sebastian. He is such a handsome, sexy abnd powerful. He is not always broody. He had some vulnerable moment. Especially about what he feels for Abigail.
I like Abigail too. She has a solid backbone. She takes no crap from Sebastian and hits back to the spot. Both Miss Payne and Miss Blue done a good job.
Love the cover but that's where it ends for me. Ridiculous caricatures, billionaire businessmen speaking like 15 year old boys. so-called 'friends' who are more like enemies. CEOs who think they can terminate contracts without just cause. Yawn.
This may appeal to those who love a good angst YA/NA billionaire power play but Christian Grey got exposed as a whiny cry-baby and imitating that kind of arrogant, bossy, little-boy-lost character is like six years out of date.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Mhmm, as the title of the review goes. I love both of these authors and when they combine writing it's even better. I couldn't put the 37 pages of the first look down read it all and I want so much much more. Each character is written so well you can picture exactly what they look like and sound like and even their personality. I love it when books have so much detail it's like your in the book watching these characters in their lives. I would love to read the whole and will most likely be purchasing it asap. I don't know how this book could get even better but reading both authors previous works I'm sure it gets a hell of a lot better and sexier. You ladies will give me a heart attack one day that is for sure.
This was a pretty good read that I liked. Sebastian Shark is a self-made billionaire who has built his empire at a young age. He is arrogant dominant and alpha male. Abbigail Gibson is also a self-made business owner. She owns her own catering company and works alongside her best friend Rio. Abbi delivers to several places throughout LA, and Sebastian Shark is one of them. Abbi has been lusting over Mr. Shark for a while now. Every day she delivers him his lunch she gets a glimpses of the man that she can't help but fantasizes about. Little did she know that he wants her also. This was a good read I liked both of these characters. The chemistry between these two was hot Sebastian was arrogant domineering and controlling but he was also protective of Abbi who was innocence. I also liked the secondary characters in this book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
OMG!! That was so amazing!! I just finished reading Shark's Edge, book 1 in the Shark's Edge series, and it was steamy, suspenseful, and unputdownable.
This definitely gave me fifty shades vibes, but at the same time unique in its own way. Angel Payne and Victoria Blue are some of my favorite authors and I just love it when they collaborate. They bring out the best in each other and absolutely nailed it when they wrote Shark's Edge.
The story follows Abbigail Gibson and Sebastian Shark. Abbi is a self-made caterer that is focused on making her business a success. Sebastian is dominating and loves to be in charge. He is the alpha-male I love reading about.
They meet at his office. Abbi caters the lunch to him and his staff. They have this sexual tension that is undeniable and have sort of a love-hate relationship.
I give Shark's Edge 5 stars. It's a seductive and suspenseful romance that will have readers engaged from the very beginning.
Being one of the top self-made men in LA is exhilarating. Being a man who could have any woman is satisfying. But, being the target of some mystery person who wants to see him and his empire crumble is shaking even the stoic, commanding Sebastian Shark. It also does not help that a sprite little redhead is messing with his machismo and his mind.
Abbigail Gibson is also a self-made success, just not on an equal level as the devastating Mr. Shark. It is not in her plans to fall for the sexy, arrogant bastard with the growly voice and smoking hot body. It runs against her rules as much as he runs against her still innocent libido.
Neither of them feels they are being helped by all of the truth slinging from their best friends. Sometimes facing those truths is hard.
Watching these two do the tango around each other and at each other is a delight! See how they pull each other's chains and break each other's calm is a lot of fun! To see them team up in search of answers is exciting. Then there are the hot times when they fire each other up to combustion. Whoa, baby!
I have already formed my suspect list in the hunt for Sebastian's enemy. I am also starting to form a couple's list for the cast of characters. Now, to be patient, wait for the next books to see if I am right. :) Sebastian, Abbigail, and the rest are going to be such fun to watch their development.
When Angel and Victoria first brought up Shark's Edge I knew right away I had to have it. These two authors make the magic happen together, absolutely brilliant. This series is going to be epic! The suspense had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down for anything. I am so excited for December! I am a sucker for a suck you in until you feel like drowning, romantic suspense. Throw in two of my favorite authors and a hard, sexy alphahole billionaire and I'm in love. Sebastian and Abbigail's chemistry is of the charts. Her sassy innocence paired with his arrogance go hand in hand to make the perfect match, with flaws and all. I highly recommend this series! A full five stars and easily one of my favorite top five reads of 2019! What a phenomenal way to end the year!
OMG! OMG! OMG! I thought I had read the best Angel Payne and Victoria Blue had written in past series. But, Shark's Edge has me questioning myself. This is a scorcher ladies. It burns hotter than 40 hells. Shark's Edge is...Suspenseful. Exhilarating. Dramatic. Romantic. It had my emotions on a rollercoaster, throughout the whole book. But, I. Loved. Every. Single. Minute. Given the review I wrote, how can I give this anything less than the maximum of 5 stars. I'm already anticipating Shark's Pride, 2nd in the series.
I like what I’m reading so far, a lot, but there’s a lot of ...conflict to the storyline already in motion and I’m hoping that it doesn’t overshadow the romance that’s also building between Sebastian and Abbigail. We shall see ..... stay tuned!
Update (12/13/19): I was going to expand on the this review before posting on the blog but I've changed my mind because nothing has happened storyline wise that I can even talk about with you because, spoiler! Also, this is only the beginning. Sebastian and Abbigail are going to run thru three books so be patient LOL I can tell you that I am become more of a fan of both these authors the more words I read so ... do with that as you will :)
I knew this book was going to be good. Sebastian and Abbigail's story is so addicting. Sebastian is a man used to getting what he wants and with Abbigail it's not that simple. She is not his typical type but that doesn't stop the sparks from flying when these two are around each other. He's a ruthless billionaire and she is the owner of her catering business. Everyday Abbigail brings him his lunch, sets it up where he wants it and does everything except feed him before she leaves. Sebastian is turned on by this gorgeous redhead but knows he is not the relationship type. He is a hit it and leave guy but usually it's the paying kind. That is all he has time for and he knows she's not that type of woman but hey he can still flirt, no harm in that. Abbigail knows Sebastian is out of her league, after all she's still a virgin. But she wants him and just has to convince him to be the one. She's ready and wants Sebastian but not so sure that's going to happen. This book is so good. It has everything you need to make it the perfect read and I can't wait to read book 2.
I am so excited for this new series by these two awesome authors!
Sebastian Shark is an arrogant, self-made billionaire who has opened up The Edge in downtown LA and brings women on their knees with his sexy looks. But there is only one woman that may bring this alpha down on his own knees. That woman is Abbigail. She is a self-made catering business owner who has Shark as one of her clients. Innocent yet sassy, smart and strong-headed, she fantasizes about Shark, yet his egoistical attitude has them butting heads in a tug of a war of dominance. He's domineering and she's outspoken. You can see where this romance is going. At the same time, there's someone after Shark, causing trouble for this business that may bring down his empire.
I loved this book! There's passion, heat, mystery, suspense and at the same time, moments where you want to slap these two to their senses lol. I feel it is well written and we were able to understand the main characters and their personalities. While Shark is brass and ruthless, there are other sides to himself that you can't help but love. I will say though, for an alpha, he does come off whiny at times and I hope this is something that goes away during the series. There's a difference between a possessive, arrogant alpha and a whiny, immature brat. I love that Abbigail has been written in a way that makes her relatable. She's strong and has some weaknesses but she is definitely not those weak heroines that everyone wants to say is very strong but really isn't.
I am excited for the next book and can't wait to see what will happen next! I want to know who is messing with Shark and see how this steamy relationship will go. Another 5 star read for me!
Wow! Blown away! Amazing! Phenomenal! Brilliant! Shark’s Edge is the incredible start to what is sure to be an epic series. I couldn’t put it down and read it all in one sitting! There is something for everyone in this book. Mystery, suspense, romance. All of the feels are here. I absolutely loved it. Kudos to Angel Payne and Victoria Blue.
We're introduced to the no non-sense, viscous, dominating Sebastian Shark that tramples through everything and anyone. Controls his entire surrounding till they bend to his will from his ivory tower that's built his success.
Than he meets Abbigail Gibson. Passion collides and chemistry has never been hotter. We see a side to both characters that only those close to them will see. Compassion, devotion...love. Passion is risky between the two, resistance is being tested but nothing is hotter then when they come together. Definitely leaves you wanting more. Onto book two.
When Angel Payne and Victoria Blue combine their writing creative juices, you know you are going to get something special.
Sebastian Shark is the epitome of Alpha male. Dominant in the boardroom and the bedroom. He needs to be in charge of his world. His name suits him to a "T". A predator in a 3 piece designer suit. His current prey is Abbigail Gibson, a sassy business woman on the rise to taking her catering profession to the next level. She has yearned and fantasized about Sebastian for what seems forever. She dreams about serving herself up to him on a platter instead of the lunch fare she normally delivers to him.
Sebastian is in turmoil every time Abbi is in his perimeter. He does not understand why he is so attracted to this too young, too green vixen with the flaming red hair. She is so off the radar of what his usual "type" of woman is. This story has amazing secondary characters and a twisty plot line that I am sure will develop in the next book and I look forward to reading it.
I don’t even know where to start. Sebastian is this powerful force and Abigail sees this from the beginning. He lives up to his name and is a shark when it comes to business and how he wants things done. Abigail has no idea what is in store for her. I can’t wait for the next one to see what happens not just with these two but also Shark’s Edge which is his dream to build.
This is first book in what is going to be an amazing series by Angel and Victoria.
Abbi is a sweet young girl who has fantasies about Sebastian. Sebastian is a ruthless, dominating no holds bars businessman who can't seem to control himself every time he sees Abbi.
Sharks Edge will keep you on the edge of your seat as these two battle back and forth until they each get want they want.
This eye catching cover and the title caught my attention from the first time I saw a post about it. And once I started reading, and I saw the promise of all these books to come, I could tell it is planned to be quite the series.
Sebastian is successful and powerful, and you find out right off the bat that someone is messing with him. Or it appears that way? Don't have all the answers but something weird is going on. And Abbigail is way younger but already successful in her own way and confident and I really like her. Him? He has his moments but also reacts like an adolescent throwing a tantrum when things don't go his way. He better shape up some in this series and I have a feeling the girl will be the one to give him an attitude adjustment.
There's lots of back and forth between the two, some great chemistry, and some shady characters. I feel like this has a lot of promise and am looking forward to book two.
I just finished Shark's Edge and it has me breathless the tension the mystery of whos trying to bring down Baz, the Heat between him and Abbigail is just fantastic. I also love RIo as I said during the first impression. the ending had me gasping then I got to read a snippet of the second book and was happy again. im wanting book two so badly right now lol I love his niece also. and my favorite line was when Rio told her He asked where Little Red Riding Hood was I laughed with Abby there. Angel and Victoria know how to write a book and a scene in it that will leave you intrigued and wanting more. Their characters are just great to read their, background and the mystery that they come with makes you want to be there for them. The steam in the book is great also. They are funny and relatable.
4.5 Star Review of Shark’s Edge (Shark’s #1) by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue
Shark's Edge is book one of an exciting new series from Angel Payne and Victoria Blue. Having read several books from this writing duo, I was expecting heat, spice, suspense and danger and that is exactly what I got. I have no idea where one author finished and the other took over, such is the seamlessness of this writing duo.
Sebastian Shark is a an alpha, dominating male focused on achieving his business goals. Abbigail Gibson’s a self made business woman, determined to make her catering business a success, even if it means handling difficult clients such as Sebastian.
While sparks fly when they first meet, it is obvious that the chemistry that sizzles between them is off the charts. Will the passion that ignites between them burn them or could it be the start of something amazing?
I am excited to see where these authors take this series and cannot wait for more.
OMG... Shark’s Edge is first book in this series, Awesome book, Angel Payne and Victoria Blue you both have done it again! Sebastian and Abbigail’s story is so addicting. I loved this book so much and sure you will to! I’m also so ready for Shark’s Pride the second book in the series.
Amazing even though you want to kick Sebastian and Abbi sometimes. I really want to know which “nasty” Nine Inch Nails song was playing lol. Next one please!!!!
Powerful, sexy, sassy, amazing, beautiful, spectacular and I can keep going! Angel and Victoria you girls did it again, this is an amazing story and I cannot wait to continue reading sexy Sebastian and Sassy Abbi, I absolutely loved it, they are absolutely perfect for each other and of course I am so damn intrigued of what’s going to happen next. It was beyond AMAZING!!!!
The first two chapters definitely give you a successful feel for the main characters. You can tell Abbi is young, driven, smart, and inexperienced. Mr. Shark on the other hand; very experienced, arrogant, rude, smart, driven, cold, and confident. There's chemistry, intrigue, mystery, and complication, most of what I look for in a contemporary romance! The dynamic between the main and supporting characters is important and something I truly love to see. I already love Grant. Looking forward to finding out how and why Sebastian is involved in the death of a young girl he seems to know nothing about. Also can't wait to get all the feels when Sebastian and Abbi meet again and kick up the heat and suspence!
Continued review!!
Yes!! Yes!! The new cowritten series by the amazing Angel Payne and Victoria Blue is, yes amazing! Intsant love for the main characters, Sebastian and Abbigail! They are two very different people, with very different ideas of life and love. Sebastian is the controlling and ruthless alpha-male everyone sees him as, but he has a good heart and is a good man. Abbi is young and driven by her dreams of a successful catering career. When Abbi and Sebastian are together they can't deny their differences or their attraction to eachtoher. This story is definitely a slow burn, true to Angel and Victoria fashion. There is alot of push and pull between the characters and the events happening around them. There are twists that keep you wondering who and why until the very last page. This first book definitely is successful in setting an intense beginning to this series. I cannot wait to see what happens and how Sebastian and Abbi will navigate their feelings together while trying to solve the riddle that has Sebastian's buinsess dreams in it's sites.
I have read books written by these authors separately and together, so I was stoked to get the chance to read this new series. Right out the gate I could not stand Sebastian. This guy was not an alpha. He was an overgrown child (with way too much money and power) who seemed to be turned on by the tears of a woman he claimed was too young for him. However, that didn't stop him from leering at her and touching her without asking. While Abbi wasn't experienced and had a wicked crush on Sebastian, I just didn't buy these two as a thing. Their so-called chemistry was more contrived than organic (i.e. 50 Shades of Gray minus the Red Room - or maybe that's coming up in one of the future installments). And why oh why are some authors still stuck on writing about 20+ year old virgins being pursued by an older man (or men)? Seriously, who's fantasizing about this? #cantrelate. I'm not sure who the authors' target audience is, but this book was just didn't do it for me.
*Received ARC from publisher for an honest review.*
DNF listening at~20 minutes. Slight spoilers that happened w/in that time, in an ~08 hour book.
Good, quick, conversational style writing and Erin Mallon & Jacob Morgan can pull off... plus it's hard not to like good, solid narrators. That said, too many other books out there to spend time on another cookie cutter/trope book. In this case an aspiring caterer wanting to make it big... her deceased mother's dream... awww. And, she happens to also be a virgin. (Which isn't mentioned anywhere so why not set it in high school? If that's your thing, read on.) ... and ... she's hot for billionaire CEO she delivers to and dreams about. Honestly- went with it to try this pair of authors but not even the narrators can make longing trope good for ~08+ hours. I should have read more reviews before picking this up.
