I really enjoy these books as you learn some history but in a really simple format. While they are written for children - and are excellent for them too! - I find I always learn something from them myself, even if I already know the subject. In the case of this book, I actually didn't know anything about Cesar Chavez, so it was a really interesting book, and I learned a lot from it. I'd definitely recommend this book -and series! - for any children (and adults!) interested in learning more about important people from history. I'm interested to see who I'll read about next!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Excellent biography about the contributions of César Chavez in the USA.
Very interesting, especially the childhood of César Chavez and the explanations on the way of life of the farmers during the Great Depression, as well as what is a "grassroot movment" and a boycott. Past these elements, the biography of Cesar Chavez may be a little light on his personal life.

Dialogue like texts between historical figures and your child, facilitated by a mom.

Che Chavez is the person chatting in this book. We discover where and how he grew up and how grassroots efforts at change work.

Perfect vehicle for a tween!
