Mila and Grant are two career minded people who have no time for relationships. A chance encounter results in a hot one night stand. Open and upfront that his baseball careers is his first love, Grant and Mila share a night that lives on in his memory. Career changes, injuries and philanthropy result in him meeting her once again, where secrets are revealed.

I really enjoyed this story. First of all, who doesn't love hot baseball players? Grant and Mila both are very strong characters. I respected the author so much that Mila doesn't just quit her job but maintains her own identity and doesn't crumble into Grant's world immediately. They reconnect slowly, deliberately. It's really refreshing to be honest, and shows her character's strength. I absolutely adored Lily and she worked her way into my heart. This second chance romance was everything I wanted. It had mistakes, angst, love, humor and compassion. The secondary characters, especially Hunter and Jess were well written and provided great additions to the story.

Overall, this was a fast, heartwarming story. I hope to read more of these characters and their friends in the future.

What a fantastic debut this is for A E Vuocolo. Great storyline, wonderful characters, drama and plenty of steamy scenes. For her first book this really does tick all the boxes for me.

Grant and Mila meet on a night out and hit it off, ending with a one night stand.

Grant is an up and coming ball player, his career just starting out, he’s not looking for anything serious right now.

Mila is just finishing up her Nursing degree and looking forward to starting her Career too, she knows where she stands with Grant.

How things can change!

Roll on four years and we’re all about to find out.

Looking forward to more from the characters we meet during this book

This is A.E.'s debut novel and she's done awesome. She is definitely a author I will continue to read. Her book is about Mila and Grant. Both career driven and not looking for love. They have a hot one night stand with unexpected consequences. Everything comes to a head four years later. Changes happen and they end up coming face to face again. This is a great story. It brings out all your feels. I absolutely love these two and Lily too. Mila is a strong heroine which I love and Grant is super swoony. I definitely recommend this book.

I received a advanced readers copy and I'm leaving a voluntary review

This is such a cute story, I absolutely loved Grant and Mila’s story. A night out with someone friends and a chance encounter with a sexy baseball player, a one memorable night that turn out to be extremely memorable.

Grant walked out of Mila’s life four years ago and after being traded to a different team, Little did he know that a Christmas in July event for his new team at the local hospital’s children’s wing would change his life forever. Grant will make you swoon, Mila will make you laugh and Lily is adorable 💕

This is an amazing debut story for A.E Vuocolo it gives you all the feels, it will definitely pull on your heart strings.

Wow! What a fantastic debut novel. Secret baby, hot baseball player, strong willed heroine, cutest kid ever! This book has it all. Throwing in some heart stopping drama, angst and a little bit of suspense, I would say that this new author has created a huge success for her first book.
I look forward to the next book.

I cant believe this was AE Vuocolo's debut novel!! What I Really Need is a sweet fairytale with a little angst and suspense mixed in! The flow and storyline drew me in right away and I instantly fell in love with Grant and Mila. I loved all the layers to their story, even that plot twist at the end! Their chemistry was hot hot hot in and out of the bedroom! I thought there was a good mix of sexy, fun and angst and I cant wait to see whats next!!

This was a really good debut.
It was a quick and easy read.

Unfortunately this was just too sweet for me...
Everything in the beginning was just too smooth for me. If that makes sense?

In all, it was cute and I enjoyed it but it was just too much cotton candy sweetness. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more from this author!

Super sweet story. Grant wasn't expecting to be traded and definitely wasn't ready for a unplanned surprise. A book about coming to terms with unforseen circumstances and falling in love. Mila and Grant are in for more than just one steamy night.

Loved Grant and Mila’s story. One night was all it was supposed to be but the memories would always last. After a beautiful night Mila walks out of Grant hotel room without realizing her life will be changed forever. Four years later Grant is faced with a career change and trying to find solid ground when he comes face to face with the one woman whom he still hasn’t been able to forget.

What I Really Needed is a beautiful debut novel that will give you all the feels. The story pulls you in leaving you wanting more. Grant will have you swooning, Mila is the sweetest and Lily is the cutest little thing ever!

Such a cute read! It had all the feels that make up a good book. What started off as a one night stand, turned into a HEA for Grant and Mila. The storyline was really good. After unforeseen changes have Grant moving to a different team, he finds himself coming face to face with Mila again after 4 years, learning his life is forever changed. I really liked that the H/h didn’t jump into a relationship right off the bat of meeting again. The attraction was definitely there, but it slowly built up to more. Their chemistry was definitely hot and Grant had me swooning along with Mila. Lily was the cutest little girl ever, and I loved hearing her interact with both parents.

Definitely enjoyed reading this novel--I'm a sucker for secret baby & secret relationship (of sorts) tropes so this hit the spot perfectly. one problem I tend to have w secret baby novels is that the kid can appear to come second to the parents' feelings and relationship, so it was really refreshing to see the kiddo being a priority!

This was a random FB find for me. I stumbled across a post about it in a group on release day or thereabouts & the blurb hit me in just the right way that I had to read it RIGHTNNOW. *grin* I love finding new-to-me authors that way!

Grant & Mila's story begins with a one night stand. They have this instant connection, but neither are in a place in their lives where they're looking for a relationship. So while they have a wonderful, satisfying night, that's all. When Mila finds out she's pregnant, she tries to do the right thing & let Grant know, but circumstances prevent him from getting her messages.

When they meet up again, through a series of events that are so random they HAVE to be fate, their relationship moves at a realistic pace. They're still attracted to each other, they still LIKE each other, and I really appreciated that there was no ... unnecessary drama. They communicated and handled their emotions in a mature way, and it allowed for Grant to start getting to know his daughter right away, as well as getting closer to Mila.

The writing itself was a little choppy (missing words, incorrect words used) but the story told was good enough that I was able to mostly ignore those & highly enjoy it, so this was a five star read for me!! : )

Do you like single mom stories?
What about stories involving hot MLB players?
Or stories with sweet little girls?

This one has all three!

This is Ms. Vuocolo's debut novel and it is a wonderful story!
I loved these characters very much! I felt connected to them and could visualize them very easily.
Mila and Grant had a one night-stand four years ago. Unbeknownst to him, he has a little girl. A little girl who he discovers one afternoon when he sees Mila at the hospital with her while he is there with his teammates. Now these three need to learn to how to have Grant in the daddy role.
I enjoyed how he wanted to be a father and how he didn't blame Mila for not telling him. No unnecessary drama with this story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend you give it a shot.

P.S. Now I'm excited for Jessica's story. Hope it comes out soon. :)

I’ve struggled reading lately. I’m not used to it because it’s never been a problem. I find a couple books in a row that are good and then I struggle. I just finished a good book before I picked this book up and I didn’t know if I could find THAT book again, or be that lucky. Well guess what? Totally didn’t have to worry about that! I was immersed in all things Grant and Mila the minute I started reading. This book had all the things I like when it comes to a book. I don’t want to spoil anything but sports, second chances, and a couple other things are all I ever need in a book. To say I adored this book would be an understatement. And I can’t wait for Jess and Hunter’s book!!

This debut novel is amazing! Grant and Mila met at a club and had a magical night together. After Mila sneaks away in the early morning they dont ever see each other again... until 4 years later. When Grant sees her again he realizes he can never let her go. But he also realizes alot has happend since that one night. I love Grant and Mila. It's an amazing story, and I couldnt put it down. And Grant's dirty dirty mouth will melt you in an instant. This book is such a first novel and I cannot wait to see what is next!

This was a good read for A.E Vuocolo debut novel. The story flowed well and both Mila and Grant were likable and don't even get me started on cute little lilly. That sweet girl stole the show. There were a few slow moments and several grammatical errors but overall I did enjoy the story. This book is low angst and gives you a few different tropes.

Cute read, especiallly for a debut. I liked Grant and Mila a lot. I loved that Grant was taken with his daughter right from the start. one of the things that I had trouble with was Grant's schedule as a professional baseball player. In the summer, professional teams often play 6, sometimes 7 days per week. Grant's team had an awful lot of free days. That withstanding, I did like What I Really Need, and will be on the lookout for more by AE Vuocolo.

Guys, this book! It's amazing and I couldn't put it down. This book keeps you wanting more and I was fully in it. It's a beautiful story that makes you almost sad at times but then there's so much more joy that it doesn't let you stay there for long. I highly recommend it and can't wait to read more from this author!

This story starts four years before when the two main character met. Mika just landed her dream job as a nurse in the ER. And Grant is a baseball player he plays for the North Carolina Razorbacks he is out at a club after a win. He is completely captivated by Mila and he spends that night with her. Mila leaves him in the hotel without a word.

So present day four years later Grant is being traded to a Georgia and Mila is a single mother to a four year old daughter Lily she didn’t contact Grant about his daughter cause she figured he didn’t want a child to hold him down, he only really wanted to focus on his career and that she was only a one night stand.

So anyways Tyler and the other baseball do a thing where they visit sick kids in the hospital and he meets little Lily and too his surprise finds out that she is his daughter . I loved how Mila gave Grant no trouble seeing his daughter and Grant immediately fell in love with his little girl. And Mila’s friend Jessica every girl needs a friend like her.
This was a really sweet story but there is a big shocking event that you won’t see coming. Even with this occurrence this book still rocked me. I can’t believe this one is A.E. Vuocolo debut novel can’t wait to read what’s up next.

3.5 Stars***This is an enjoyable romance. Grant, Mila and Lily are appealing characters, especially Lily, and, although the storyline isn’t new, it’s still entertaining. The story doesn’t always flow smoothly, and the editing needs a bit of work (but that seems to be more the norm these days. ☹). Regardless, this is a sweet love story and a pleasant read.
