Series that makes you dread being single

3.5 out of 5 stars

There is one tiny moment and dialogue that made me cringe. How did it go again? Something like: You're not tiny, you're not frail. You're my girlfriend. I forgot what word the translator used. Anyway, gawd, cringey. And the main lead's weak front, ah, kill me. But the rest, o, the rest!!! It's so cute and fluffy, I can't!! And the comic strip extra, especially the All She Can one is so friggin cute!! I'm getting nosebleeds. I know I was bashing the love interest in my previous review because he's getting somewhat possessive or crazy jealous of some sort and kinda irritating but this volume is just so cute that I'm willing to overlook that since jealousy is human-nature and we all feel jealous—I'M JEALOUS LIKE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THIS VOLUME LOL.

Anyway, yea, keep it like this. Wholesome and sugary sweet. You can tease a person without doing sexual harassment, and this series proved it. I like this.

i'm bad cringing. i shouldn't be bad cringing.

art isn't beautiful enough to make me forgive all faults. this boy is nowhere near hananoi (i was legit gonna type kun. it's been so difficult to leave out honorifics lol) in looks.

hagiwara's my favourite character now. i need a contrarian and drama.

the forced kabedon was too much for me. i get it was an omake but i wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't part of the main story.

just gotta look at them as two dumb kids and nothing more. STOP TRYING TO PROJECT IDIOT

Well, that escalated quickly. I am a bit confused by their effusive use of the L word so early on for a few reasons:
First, most manga make a big deal of someone confessing and saying they "like" someone. Love tends to be end game much further down the line.
Second, these 2 both have the emotional maturity of cabbage, so it really seems excessive.
And finally, they're in love, but she wants to wait to kiss until she "comes of age"? I am not sure what age that is exactly, but carts and horses seem to be milling around aimlessly and not in any order at all here.

I'm still reading, but we'll see. Also, the mean girl needs to get a clue.

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, YOUR HONOR!!!!!!

Wow, what a HUGE REFRESHING series to read. The leads here know how to openly communicate their feelings towards one another and don't beat around the bush. They also aren't shy to show the other how much they love them. Wow, I really love this series very much.

This one starts with Koeda unsure of their relationship. Even though they confessed their love to each other, she is unsure if they are dating, and isn’t sure of herself at all. Some of her classmates saw Masamune whisk her away after the play and wanted to know what that was about. Masamune comes to Koeda’s classroom while she is explaining to them that Masamune couldn’t date someone like her because she is too short and tiny. Masamune hears this, walks straight over to her, grabs her hands, and says, “You’re not too short and tiny, you’re my girlfriend,” as the rest of the class looks on, stunned. Then they leave to walk home together.

On their walk home, she tells him that since they hadn’t really talked about anything, she was unsure where they stood, and she thought maybe she was the only one getting excited about their relationship. He tells her he is excited too, that his heart is racing, then he asks her if she will be his girlfriend. She also tells him that she loves him again.

Next, we see Koeda writing in her notebook. She is listing things they will do now that they are dating. (This reminds me of me.) She lists: hold hands, go home together, stop by somewhere on our way back from school (parks or libraries), go out for a date, study together, relax at home, send emails and make calls to each other many times, and eat meals together. It’s her way of understanding what this new chapter of her life will bring.

Every time Masamune asks her to do something dating-related, she asks, “Can I do that?” When he asks her to walk home together the second day, and when he asks her on a date, this is her response. She is so very unsure of herself, and the other girls at school aren’t helping. They say things about her looking like an elementary student, and Hagiwara plants a seed that if she doesn’t kiss him soon, she won’t be his girlfriend for long. (jealous, mean girl)

On their way home from school on the second day, they stop at the park, which makes Koeda happy, but she’s nervous because she thinks she is too childish. She asks him what she needs to do to be a good girlfriend to him. He laughs and asks if she wants him to kiss him or something. The look on her face is unlike anything he’s seen before, and he insists he was joking. But she takes it seriously and waits for him to kiss her (with somewhat of a grimace on her face). Instead, he pinches her cheeks and asks her what she is doing, since this isn’t like her. He’s smart enough to realize this is because of other people getting in her head, and suggests they go do stuff she really wants to do, like go to the park.

He asks her why she picked the park, and then she shows him her list. He suggests they go out on a date next, and tells her that it makes him happy to see her get excited over each of these small things. He lets her know there is nothing wrong with taking things slow, that that is what he likes about her. Later, she brings up that they will kiss someday, and he says she doesn’t need to think about it right now. He does ask her how long it will take for her to be ready, and she says, after she comes of age. (Is that 18? Hopefully, she doesn’t make him wait that long.)

Now it’s time for their date, and she gets dressed up wearing her first pair of heels, he tells her how pretty she is, and he can tell she is taller right away. They are at a zoo, and Masamune seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself. After all the walking, though, Koeda has blisters, and Masamune realizes he runs and buys her new shoes. It’s so sweet. It brings them closer together, and he insists on giving her a good hug. She thinks to herself that she is melting, and a part of her thinks she might not need to go so slow.

Midterms are coming up, and Koeda isn’t doing well on her practice exams. She tells Masamune she needs to stop seeing him to study, but he isn’t happy about that (Take tells her it’s because he needs lots of attention), and somehow, Take manages to get him to host a study session at his house instead. Hagiwara, of course, shows up, and she does everything she can to assert herself and make Koeda jealous. Koeda runs off at one point, but Masamune finds her, and they share a tender moment, where he holds her in his lap. She didn’t understand what she was feeling, and thought something was wrong with her, because she wanted him all to herself. He tells her he feels the same way, too, and he doesn’t even care about studying; he just wants to be alone with her. She asks if it’s because he needs lots of attention, and he says yes, but only from her.

Later, we see they all did well on their midterms, even Masamune, because Koeda motivated him.
I think it’s super cute how they look when she sits in his lap, or he picks her up and holds her. It’s really sweet how gentle he is with her.

cutest girl

She is so cute and I just love the relationship they have and how they are taking it slow. Not every high school student needs to rush and do everything because their friends are doing it. I love how he’s helping her with her self confidence and believing in yourself.

Omg this one was so freaking cute. They are so cute together. I loved their relationship. They are both kind of insecure but not about their feelings or trust in each other.

Maybe a bit too girly for me.

This is probably the most shoujo shoujo manga I've read in a long time. I feel I may need to go on a water-only diet to reduce my blood sugar levels.

Masamune and Koeda are dating now. Insecurity abounds, competition rears it's feline mane and bares its claws, and Masamune is oblivious. Mostly too sweet for me, but I admired the skill the artist showed when illustrating hugs. The one in the bedroom caught me eye. I paused from reading and admired the warmth and intimacy of the drawing.
