When Tangie needs some experience to help her spice up her writing, she ends up spending a hot weekend with Ryder, but she walks away thinking she regrets not letting him tell her his real name. Months later, she's still down in the dumps because she misses him and he hasn't reached out. Will their weekend just remain a fond memory or will he ever come back to her?
Though the pace of this story lagged a bit in the middle, I mostly enjoyed it. Tangie and Ryder are hot together and great characters individually, especially Ryder. I also really liked that the author threw in a twisty secret that tied them together in an unexpected, not exactly pleasant, way.

Wow... I couldn't put this book down and I finished it in one sitting. I wanted and still want more of Trevor/Ryder, and Tangela/Candy. Verlene has given us two well developed characters with a story that we instantly want to know more about, and can relate to on many levels. These two took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I laughed, I shed tears, I wanted to bang their heads together, but above all I rooted for them.
Ryder Hard is full of real emotion, drama, romance, mystery, and intense sexual chemistry...and the hot, Hot, HOT!!! sex!! So make sure you have a change of knickers when you're reading!
I know when we read books we want to escape our own reality, but this book could very well be someone's reality. Many readers will relate to the situation Tangela was in, and I'm sure many have experimented with aliases to escape. Heck it's not so far fetched that a weekend like these two share could be on the cards for any reader....possibly not the mutliple of orgasms unfortunately, unless you are one lucky girl!!!!
Definitely need some more Laney and Jack. I want to know about these two...their stories need to be heard!!!!

Tangie needs some real-life experience to spice up her romance writing, so when she meets a delicious man at a party, she's ready to see where the night goes. Trevor is accustomed to hiding behind his Ryder persona, so his one-night-stands don't connect him with his notoriously public history. After a sensuous and magical weekend, each wants more but each has very significant reasons why they can't pursue any further contact.
The book getting made into a movie part is really not the focus of the angst in this story - there's a surprising twist, a dark secret that makes one wonder if these two really will get their HEA, and if it will be enough. The highly emotional journey through both of their individual pasts is exquisitely written, and the lighthearted otter references were the perfect balance to the heavier subjects.
I really enjoyed this book; I only wish it had been longer. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A fast paced book that kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat. It’s also the first book I have read by this author. I love the writing and the plot. I was hooked from page one, couldn’t put it down and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very well written and developed. The characters are complex, relatable; the plot is strong, engaging and unpredictable. This is swoon worthy, co-workers with benefits romance. It has so much heart and love. The writing is simple and yet beautiful, unique and powerful.
Tangie and Trevor are amazing. Their story is filled with emotion, drama, romance, mystery, intense chemistry. They took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride but I couldn’t help but fall for them. The moment they met it was obvious there was an undeniable connection and attraction. The more they spend time together the more they feel for each other. They were intense and lit up the pages. They push and challenge each other. They were frustrating, funny, quirky, emotional and loveable.
It kept my attention at all times and I could not put it down. I highly recommend it.

All Tangie wanted was to write a great book that could be turned into a movie. All she seemed to get was reject letters left and right. Her friend Laney helps her with a weekend of hot steamy sex and hook up. Tangie then takes that to the book for spice!
Ryder is a child of famous film stars back in the day. He wants to be known for himself as Trevor and now his family business. He now works deliveries for bars, has the occassional hook up.
One weekend brings Tangie and Ryder together for non stop action. She leaves after their very funfilled, satisfying weekend. However both of them felt something shift in their feelings.
I love how this author takes this characthers on a journey to realize they belong together. This book will have you crying, angry, and loving Otters by the end of the book. The characters have great chemistry and personalities. I highly recommend this book. IF this cover doesn't drawn you in then you have no clue what you are missing.

This is my first book by Verlene Landon and i have to say that I’m pleasantly surprised. This was a really great book despite what i initially thought about it. The blurb did absolutely nothing for me, after all who wants to read about erotic porn stars and their washed up child star offspring....i certainly did not. But trust me when i say you want to read this book.
This book starts off with Tangie needing a lot of bedroom experience so she can sell her romance novels and finds Ryder (Trevor) seeking out possible friendships to avoid going home or having to answer his children. Once they find each other their problems are solved or at least they are for the next 36 hours. He gives her romance and she gives him a weekend of unfiltered love making with no press or parents to stop him. But when his identity is revealed and Tangie has to decide does she forgive the man she has been getting to know or does she walk away this time for good? Read this! No regrets...

This is a brilliantly written story with a well-thought-out plot and twists and turns you do not see coming. Two lonely souls meet by chance and are immediately attracted. One is Tangela Webber an author who lacks the experience to be able to write hot steamy love scenes in order to get her book published with the hopes of it becoming a movie. The other Trevor Dickson who uses the alias Ryder has a no attachments lifestyle and is trying to escape his parents’ infamy of being legendary porn stars. Will they be able to spend just one weekend together or will their pasts tear them apart? This story will captivate you right from the beginning and will not let you go. It has beautiful steamy romance, gut-wrenching heartbreak, and talks about the need to take responsibility for your actions but not those of others. I love this author's amazing work and will certainly read more of her work. I would give it a 10 if I could.

What an amazingly talented Author. I have never read Ms. Verlene Landon's publicationns before and you can trust that I am missing out. I am incredibly thrilled with this storyline as well as the exceedingly creative characters.
Trevor, aka Ryder, as well as Tangie, aka Candy, are about to take you on one incredible ride together. Both of these characters have known unimaginable pain, in their own way. Together they can heal however , being honest is the key ingredient that they lack. If he opens up
and bares his heart and soul, will he lose her forever or did he already?
Jack and Laney should absolutely have their own storyline. In fact, I am going to look now.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copying of Ryder Hard in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I couldn't recommend reading this release more (& that is high praise from me, considering this is a first time read for this Author).

The guilt that ate up Ryder day and night is a guilt that had him living in the mediocre! He was complacent and just as he was struggling for something different he laid his eyes on “candy” and boy was she sweet! One weekend of passion and lust had the ability to change two lives for the better but one mistake could make it the worst!
What I love about Verlene’s writing is her uncanny ability to attack issues within the pages of her books! I don’t know if it’s intentional or not but through her words she gives her readers a way to find healing in everyday life! Guilt is something that can bring even the strongest human down and it’s guilt that Ryder had to learn to face but it was up to “candy” to decide if forgiveness was a possibility!

Oh what a ride this story is. It has so much pack into it that it is a must read. I loved “Ryder” and “Candy” together. They make this hot and sweet couple all at the same time. To see the struggles that each goes through just has you cheering for them. I absolutely adore this story because it as if it could be your life.it is so down to earth and so very realistic. This has drama, suspense, a little mystery and of course hot romance. It is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book.

When their pieces fit.
Two burdened souls find that the other helps their pieces fit. When they meet they're pretending to be someone else. Trying to solve one issue not even realizing they might've stumbled across their answer to everything. I just loved how natural it all felt. Getting to know them as they got to know parts of each other. I so enjoyed seeing a side of the author world with Tangie and how honest Trevor's story felt. It was deep but well balanced and easy to connect with. If only we could all have a book boyfriend like Trevor.

What would happen if a writer needed to do some... "research" and the source of her research worked his way into her heart? Otters. Yes, otters. You'll understand later I promise. Two very different people from two very different lives collide, and the result is an absolutely amazing story.
This one had me laughing, and crying, and I'm pretty sure I even let it a girly squeak. I highly recommend it!

Loves meeting Trevor and Tangie
This was a very good read. Loved the characters with all their faults and issuses. They seem to grow in me more and more as the story a unfolded and all the truths were freed. Addiction is highlighted along with taking responsibility for your actions but not the actions of others. I highly recommend this book and do hope for more like Jack or Lanie.

This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I can't wait for what this author writes next.

Good story
Tangie needs to spice up her life. With encouragement from her friend she goes to a party and meets Ryder, sex on a stick. This story had a lot of heat and instant attraction. A quick read that will leave you wanting even more. Tangie and Trevor kept things really interesting and I couldn’t tear myself away from their story. Nothing is perfect but when you really want something you will do whatever it takes. You will love these characters.

A first time read by this author and loved the unusual picking of trope base which is often forgotten about, would love to have seen the ending explored more though more.

This is my first book by Verlene Landon and I really loved this book! Tangie needs to spice up her life and do some research for her book. She goes to a party where she meets Ryder. I really loved everything about this book. It’s fast paced, with plot twists, the characters are well developed and I really loved the chemistry between them. A great read and one I highly recommend.

5 stars +++++, One of my favorite books I have ever read by Verlene. I couldn't stop reading after the first chapter. Chapter 8, WOAH, what a shocking mind-blowing shocking twist of a revelation. I just kept imaging myself as Tangie and that I was getting lucky with a book boyfriend. Yes, I would love to read Jack and Laney's stories.
