I know it isn’t, but in my case it really should be.
Because, in my case, I didn’t just walk up to the line, I crossed so far over it that I can no longer recall how I got there in the first place.
What line did I soar over? The line leading up to him.

Guided by my resentment, I threw caution to the wind and allowed myself to fall into the arms of another man.
Not just any man. The man in question is none other than Ethan—Owen’s absentee son.
After Owen left me so bitter, I realized that Ethan represented the ultimate escape … and I must admit, revenge.

Despite being raised by her gold-digging mother, Savannah Williams remains polite and appreciates the kindness in others. Wanting to work and make her own way, Savannah’s life takes a detour when her mother marries the handsome multi-millionaire, Owen Montgomery. As Savannah accepts a job as her new step-daddy’s assistant, the dynamic shifts and all that lies under the surface becomes blurred. Searching for what’s real, Savannah must uncover the truth before she can move forward.
Told in a shifting timeline between past and present, the conflict these characters experience becomes evident which leads them to take certain actions. Though Savannah knows what she’s doing is wrong, she also knows all isn’t as it appears to be.
Though Savannah and Owen have a sizzling forbidden chemistry, their relationship experiences many ups and downs. As the tension mounted between chapters due to the alternating timelines, getting answers became tantamount. Unfortunately for me, the reveal was anticlimactic and seemed a bit implausible. However, these characters certainly evoked a strong response and I enjoyed the step-daddy factor.
Forbidden Desires is romantic suspense infused with taboo elements. This book would appeal to those who want intrigue and gray lines of immorality.

Before starting this book, I thought Savannah was going to be a femme fatale kind of character. While she had a certain degree of womanly persuasion, she was more of an innocent kind. Owen was sexy when he was acting all alpha monster. I liked how he had a good heart behind the hard facade.
The first half of the book was sexually explosive. The forbidden aspect and the tension between them were intense which led to scorching sex scenes. However, the momentum fizzled out in the second half. I liked the suspense element in this part, but it needed more depth and background details for it to be believable.
Forbidden Desires is a story of enticement and deceit. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a sexy, scandalous story.

First Chapter 😳🥴 mind -Blown. I know when I pick up a Jaimie book, I'll not be getting any work that day. I was stuck to the mesmerizing story like a magnet. You wouldn't believe if I told you the synopsis...it's jaw droppingly scintillating and unbelievably erotic. Get extra batteries for your B.O.B, it'll be working overtime, I tell ya😜

Jaimie steps on all toes, crosses all triggers and she just goes THERE.....multiple times!!
"I may be a good girl at heart, but when my body yearns for someone beyond my control, I have no other choice but to follow what it wants. And it definitely wants Owen."
Owen and Savannah Montgomery have coals burning in their hearts, the steam rising obscures logic and caution and they gravitate towards each other at warp speed. The inevitability of their Lasvicious relationship gets super hot, super fast.
"He has me locked with those beautiful, potent eyes full of danger, passion, heartbreak, desire, risk, joy, fear, and more—so much more."
Complications the size of Rock of Gibraltar rise obviously and innumerable external and internal factors create roadblocks in their path.

It's shocking, morality stumping, twisting , turning, complex chart of immoralities....but I ended up rooting for Owen and Savannah...how did that happen😧
Jaimie is blessed with a kinky-naughty brain like no other. This seemingly soft and quiet as a church mouse lady can make holy water sizzle on your skin just because you read her books. And I'm definite she smiles devilishly sitting on her computer
Deliciously Sinful and decadently immoral story. Before reading, hand over your soul to Jaimie, check your triggers at the door and dive in. Heart first cause it's all about LOVE baby...love need no logic.

2.5 Step-daddy Stars
This was just ok for me. It didn’t shake out as scandalous as I thought it would (no double-dipping at all) and should be safe for most readers. It was just missing something for me.
My biggest grump was the endless flashbacks that IMO didn’t really add anything but unneeded background that constantly hijacked the forward momentum of the story. Every other chapter…. We’d get some interesting tidbit… then boom… flashback. They had a predominately sex-based relationship, so the flashbacks felt like filler.
Bottom Line- I really like this author and will continue to one-click her stuff, but I wasn’t a fan of this one. I’m used to her bringing the crazy/plot twist, so I was expecting something CRAZY… and ended up bored… and frustrated because I was bored. I needed more going on to fill 300+ pages, so I was already struggling…then the flashbacks killed it for me. And when the mystery was finally revealed after being teased for 300+ pages… it was silly… and pretty lame… and didn’t make sense… cuz IMO this would’ve been much better streamlined without the flashbacks and 75-100-ish less pages.

So before mylist of complaints review, I just want to say it’s worth mentioning that Owen has never had sex with Savannah’s mother, and he met Savannah when she was an adult.
This novel has reenforced my hatred of dual timelines. Immediately, we are thrown into an intimate scene between Savannah and Owen. Every other chapter was a flashback, but the oldest one was only seven months ago. Any momentum the story built (whether it was in the present or past) was lost once the new chapter started.If this is what edging feels like, I don’t get the hype. The story would’ve been fine—even better, actually—if it were told chronologically.
The antagonists were so over-the-top villainous and unrealistic that I thought I read their actions wrong. I don’t understand why Owen kept his mouth shut about his son. His silence on the matter was off-putting, and the fact he didn’t personally punish his son despite being “disgusted” by his actions contradicted Owen’s (alleged) morals. Furthermore, Owen would admit to something horrible, and Savannah would assure him he was a good guy. It just added to my distaste of both of them.
The reason this didn’t get rated any lower is because despite the start-stop nature of the dual timelines, I could not stop reading. I was hooked, and I guarantee most other readers would be too.

This author ruined her own story....
This is the first book I’ve read from this author. The blurb was super interesting and it sucked me in. The overall storyline is actually great but the way it was written is not. It took me a week to get through this book when I usually read a book a day. I kept putting it down so many times because I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over again.
The author kept jumping between past and present and it was confusing as hell and I felt like it was just a filler for the book. We could of done without it, I felt like this story could of been 5/5 if she just stuck with one time frame seeing that the entire book was the span of SIX months.

That was all kinds of hot AND emotional!
I finished this a couple of days ago but I got busy with other books so I'm reviewing now. Okay. So. LOL Here's the thing. I thought I was going to read something and what I got was something completely different. No wait, not completely. I did get a naughty dirty sexy age-gap/daddy/step-sibling story but within those pages was an emotional journey that came out of nowhere. With a sprinkle of suspense! I mean ... ya'll read the blurb, right? And look at that cover?!
So what we have here is a hidden gem . It's a story hidden inside what appears to just be a taboo read. It's a sexually driven story but it's fueled by a romance. A really hot romance so go forth and enjoy!

Forbidden Desires was an enjoyable read for me. Before I begin let me start by saying that this is completely out of character for me. I have no idea why I would choose a book that states the H is the mothers husband. I guess I needed to step out of my comfort zone since everything I read seems to be the same. So now for what I enjoyed, definitely the beginning and the first half. I love a book where in Chapter 1 begins the fun. Now for what I didn't love was at first I thought Owen was an alpha male, dominant and super sexy. As the book progressed the situation with her mother was kind of ridiculous and I started to find him weak. Also, in the beginning of the book I didn't mind the present and past chapters but as the story picked up I found this style tedious and annoying. Then as if there isn't enough drama the author throws in Owen's son Ethan, so Savannah in her desperation for love starts to contemplate her future but it ultimately blows up in her face. Overall while I spent a lot of the second half rolling my eyes I did enjoy it and couldn't put it down.

Honestly, every time I read a new Jaimie Roberts book, I pinch myself because I remember how good her writing is. This book was too much back and forth for me, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. There’s something about the author’s writing that manages to suck me in and consume me. Loved it.

This is the first book by this author that I've read.
This book was just my type of book, emotions run ramped, every relationship has their ups and downs but the forbidden desire for one stepfather is off the charts!! This was absolutely perfect!!

I went into this book without reading the blurb but I knew from the title this was going to be quite a taboo story.
Savannah I really felt for this girl to go through the life she has and how she’s been brought up is quite despicable.
It’s easy to see how someone showing her some affection could lead to a path of no return for her!!!!
Owen my god he was such a jerk at times I wanted to slap him! But as the story unfolded I wanted so slap everyone else!!!!!
It’s funny the lengths people will go to, to save their own skin..... literally!!!!!

I always expect one hell of a ride with Jaimie Roberts books, but she brought out the big guns with Forbidden Desires....I’m speechless, lost and struggling for words. This twisted, forbidden romance has completely blown my mind.
I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Unable to move with my kindle in a death grip. Not having a bloody clue what was going to happen next...

The chemistry in this story sizzled. Savannah is not someone that Owen should be even be attracted to, but she a forbidden fruit that he yearns to taste. I instantly like Savannah, she held her own in horrific situations and was a gutsy character. Tense Owen was wound up tight and at times, his actions made me want to throttle him, but damn he has Alpha male stamped all over him and I couldn’t help cave to his magnetism, just like Savannah.
Full of intrigue, the story flowed superbly between present and past - I devoured it in one sitting. This is definitely a one-click must!

OMG! This book right there is going to be one of my book of the year reads.I just don't have any words how freaking good this author is,right from the first chapter it was smoking hot it was unbelievably erotic and taboo,Jaimie is not scared to go there and go there she does.
This was a forbidden taboo romance between Owen Montgomery the most rich sort after bachelor in forbes magazine and his new stepdaughter Savanna.This starts where Savanna finds herself at the age of twenty thrust into her mothers new world after her mothers whirlwind marriage to Owen and what her life is now like for her,but Savanna is nothing like her money grabbing mother she is loving and caring right from the off Owen sees that, she is like a breath of fresh air and nothing like the bitch of the mother he married.
This story had so many layers and elements that you get to find out the truth behind this sham of a marriage,and the chemistry between Owen and Savanna is hot and off the charts dirty,and Owen DOES NOT share Savanna,he is a hot alpha dominant male and is very possessive of her all the time.

The blurb intrigued me... always hooked by the forbidden. This book certainly has it hidden secrets and twists with a touch of darkness thrown in.
I have pondered my review for a while; for the most part, I couldn't decide if I hated Owen for being such an asshat towards Savannah or loved him for for trying to find happiness amongst the situation he found himself in. I had very strong urges all the way through this book to throat punch Sarah, Savannah's mother, she was materialistic, conniving, a blood sucking leech, self centred and evil through and through. Its always great to have a character to fixate hate on and Jaimie delivered that in spades!
The chemistry between Owen and Savannah was off the charts, I think it has to be for a taboo romance to work. I'm glad they found their HEA... it was well deserved and well fought for.

OH yes what a twisty forbidden in every way and so delicious all at the same time, I could not put this down the twisted secrets eating at me to find out what they are and whos gonna pay consumed me. Owen has met his match and be gone any morals but Savannah was a breath of fresh air I loved everything about her and felt bad all at the same time her mother was a demon and she deserved better. I was back and forth on Owen waiting for him to be half decent but he grows on you and is impossible not to love him and his controlling ways. I loved it all wonderful characters and the plot unique with beautiful smooth writing.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last. I absolutely love this book. I was so intrigued when I first read the blurb about this book that I couldn’t wait to read it. Owen and Savanna have hot chemistry! So many things happen in this book that I didn’t see coming at all. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! I can not wait to read more books by this author!

Definitely an interesting book. Wasn't expecting some of things that happened in the story but that's what keeps you reading. Savannah and Owen are quite the characters with several other side characters that I really enjoyed.

Absolutely head over heels for this dark and twisty story! I wasn’t sure what to excerpt and I was not disappointedly all. This book will take you into a twisted road with a very possessive and jealous alpha and it’s fantastic. Hope to read more like this!

Forbidden taboo deliciousness
I love jaimie Roberts work and this book did not disappoint, after reading the blurb I thought I knew which way this book would be going, stupidly forgetting that this is jaimies book and they always manage to surprise me in the best way. She creates characters you love to hate, characters you love of learn to love once you get through the layers and characters that completely surprise you. I couldn't put this book down. It had all my favourite things, a taboo relationship, a hot dominant possessive alpha with a vulnerable side, a good plot and great side characters. Well done jaimie.

Wow, this book was so fucking emotional! First, you should know that this is a romance novel. I thought I would mention this because some of this author's novels are straight-up women's fiction with no HEA.
The book starts with a steamy sex scene between the stepdad and the h, and you might think that this is a cheesy sex book ( why I stopped reading this for a few weeks), but it's not that at all!
This book is a taboo love story - with lots of hot sex scenes and dirty talk. The first few chapters - when we don't have their backstory - will make you think like its a soft porn, but stick with it! By 70% into the story, you'll feel your heart wrench with all the good angst, and make sure you look up the song lyrics mentioned in this book (on youtube),... that scene with the song playing in the background, totally made me tear up for this couple.
Absolutely recommend you give this book a shot!

This was my first book by Jaimie Roberts and the forbidden aspect and scandalous blurb caught my attention, but this book is just didn't live up to my expectations. So the problem here may very well be my expectations are too high. Clearly this book is erotica/smut. But I've read some very well written smut with interesting story lines and well developed characters. That is the kind of smut I enjoy. This smut was just smut with no depth. The characters are all one dimensional. The forbidden aspect didn't end up being so forbidden b/c the "hero" Owen isn't in a real marriage with the heroine's mother. The heroine never hooks up with her stepbrother and the mother is the villain so really, it's not as taboo as it sounds. It is somewhat amateurish writing and I was skimming the last 30% just to hurry to the ending and not mark it as a DNF. I may try another book by Roberts eventually, but I hope it will be better than this one.
