Absolutely outstanding piece of writing which hurts the heart at times because it's just that good.

These two men are glorious together.

Welcome to my new obsession.

For about 2 years Sam's been telling me about Mystrade fan fiction, and Ikeot saying, yes I'll read it. However I felt that my affection for m/m was over for a myriad of reasons, despite being intrigued by how a writer would deal with undoing Mycroft's bottled upness, and Lestrade's wonderfil twinkle ( TV Sherlock obviously).
Last weekend after hearing how wonderful Mottlemoth was, and how great this book is I started it.

It is marvellous, written with such affection and care for Mycroft and Greg and Anthea (Anthea !!) and so gloriously romantic.
Both characters have such individual and distinct voices, the tension is palpable and the writing is so good.

If this hadn't been fanfiction would I have read a book about 1 tightly buttoned incredibly posh 40 ish civil servant becoming involved via a 'purely physical' arrangement with a 40 ish policeman whose favourite endearment is sunshine ? Yes
Was it better because I could visualise Mark Gatiss and Rupert Graves ? Yes

I have since read 6 shorts by Mottlemoth, all greta, and I'm looking forward to the publishing of original work.
