Cressa-la thought she was an exception, but as a mysterious fog settles onto the island, taking everyone’s powers but hers, she realizes the darkness that hunted her four years ago has rooted itself deep inside her. Until she can learn to control it or get rid of it, she isn’t allowed to set foot back onto the island.
With her body breaking down at a molecular level and a new enemy on the horizon, can she make it back to her island to save it—before she drops dead?

"I follow behind the two boys- men who have both stuck their neck out for me. The half-brother and the half-wit."
This book was great. It continued the story of Cressa'la and Tamir. Cressa'la has to leave the island or Morgiana will ruin everything she loves. This sets her off on a big adventure with Tamir, Damian, Rave, and Friederick. I loved seeing Rave again. She's such a fun character. Damian was... Damian. Annoying, somehow good and bad. I don't know how I always feel bad for him even though he's a horrible person. The relationship between Tamir and Cressa-la was so sweet. I loved the wife moments where he would talk to a girl and she'd be like "Hello. I'm your wife. You'd better be careful."
Overall it was a great book. The ending got a bit dark, which I loved. Looking forward to reading the next book.
