Lucinda John is definitely in my top 5 of authors and after reading Bossed Up By A Real Nigga reminded me why. She pulls every emotion possible out of me with her penmanship and with this novel I was all over the place. Dru truly was tested with many trials and tribulations but Shadow came in and did just that kept her from continuing down an hill of tragedy! I didn't see it coming with Trell and Nya but his young self showed her what a man is, Kori who! I'm glad Kori got herself together though and I'm extremely happy that Suki was protected from all the extensive drama that could have scarred her for life! Beautifully penned Lucinda!
I really enjoyed reading this book. From beginning to end. Shadow was the truth when it came to Dru. I'm glad Iman got what he deserved. But I hate Vickie lost her life. I didn't understand Dru and Nya in the end. I know Dru is Kori best friend but at one point Nya leaned on her and she gave her good advice. They didn't have bad blood, but they didn't fool with each other after Nya left Kori, I didn't get that. But everybody got their happy ending.
This was such a good thorough read! I really came to love the ladies Victoria, Kori, Nya, and Dru individually flaws and all. I love the way Vickie bonded with Dru in that sister wife mess! The friendship between Kori and Dru was tight. Nya was a fire cracker and I was happy to see her and Trell make a life together. Iman turned out to be a piece of work. Deluca was the man and boy was he patient! I really loved these characters!
This book I stumbled upon and went for another round reading it!! Omg, I had forgot how I fell in love with Iman saving Dru just to turn around and be the devil himself. The shadow saves the day and never gives up. I wish Suki would have known Dru was her sister it just never felt right throughout the story after what happened to there momma. Kori was a hot mess. Nya finally got some sense.
Something told me from the moment sweetie was introduced, that she was Vicki. And I was right! It just made sense! Iman was a special kind of crazy. After what he did to Vicki, I’m pretty sure the first gf met the same fate. I liked Kori at first, but after she got mad & fought Dru, I didn’t too much care for her anymore. I glad Dru was able to escape iman’s clutches and build a like with Shadow.
I absolutely loved this storyline. It was so good... I mean Sister wives (that’s new)! Even though though it all turned out the way it did, the story was still great! This author keeps showing tremendous growth in all her work. None of her books sound the same. And she doesn’t follow the same “in the hood, drug dealing” plot that we read so much of. There was NOTHING that I didn’t like about this book. The characters were amazing...I loved this book and it will definitely be added to the list of books that I will read again.
On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being absolute trash and 10 being good as good can be:
Total Book Experience 10/10 Plot/Storyline 10/10 Writing (Errors) 10/10 Characters 10/10 Book Cover 10/10
It was a good book. However, both Nya and Dru were nerve wracking in their stubbornness. It’s not becoming when people know that they are wrong and refuse to accept accountability for their actions. I guess that was the author’s way of dragging out the story because Dru should have been shared with Deluca what was going on and Nya sneaking behind Trell’s back was definitely not the move. On another note, I loved Shadow and Trell’s characters.
Iman was something else!i loved victoria even tho she was down for the cause🤔🥴kori was stupid like did she really think she was gone get her girl back while being a clown 🤡the whole time..i loved me some deluca.trell and nya was my fav couple.dru well i guess she had to do what she had to do🤷🏾♀️she was stupid tho.overall this was a good read lucinda girl you never let me down keep putting out that fire.
Whew when I say this is on of Lucinda's best works it was filled with laughter, pain and pure joy these characters have me life just to know that there are so many people living in real life with these same issues amazes me I think that this is by far one of my favorite books of 2019 GREAT JOB LADY
Man this jawn had me up all dang night. I just couldn’t put it down. I promise I truly appreciated the development of these characters and all of the stories within this story. I’m so glad it all worked out. For a moment I swore we were gearing up for a part 2 but I am satisfied with how you ended all the stories.
I always enjoy Lucinda work. The storyline was good, but the main two leading ladies Drunk and Nya were a little to naive to me. Won't go into details and ruin it for anyone, but overall I really like the book. You know what actually all the women with the exception of Nancy was just green as hell.
I thought Iman was going to do right by Dru but he was the devil. Shadow was everything and exactly what Dru needed. I was glad when Nya finally left Kori alone, I felt like she might've shot Nya if she would've agreed to be back with her. Trell was just like her brother it took the right one to make him settle down. Great read!!
I had to give my girl five stars, I must say this book is a little different from her usual writing style but I like it I would love to see more books like this from her and I love that it was a standalone. The Keys bothers was everything. I truly recommend this book it's a great love story a little bit twisted but I'm telling you you will love the ending.
I really enjoyed this book, it was different with main characters that were not drug dealers, hitmen, or plugs, ect. It was very refreshing. I also like the epilogue that wrapped up the main characters and there was no cliffhanger or to be continued. All writers, take note of can be done!
Poor Dru she had a hard time. Just when she thought it would be better it became unbearable. Then came Deluca. Just let me say I was dead after that trip to Bayside. Kori was a hot one. Glad Nya found her worth and someone who truly loved her. Never disappointed you pulled off another one. 👑✍🏾
As always Lucinda John has done her thing with this stand-alone oh my God I did not see this coming you did the damn thing and you was busy cuz you're not dropped one but but two books within the same time. If you not up on Lucinda John you need to get up on it she is phenomenal Young author mom and just an awesome woman all together

So much happened idk where to start but Mannn that was good! Even though Kori was a little cray cray i loved how loyal her & Dru's friendship was. Shadow is Bae & Trell too.. Great job!!! I love all your books
Man Dru rocked my nerves this whole book. Like she did unnecessary things at times. I liked Shadow he was a trooper. Still can't understand why Nya and Dru couldn't be friends. Overall just okay for me.
Listen here this was a pretty good read! Soon happy in an got his I couldn't stand his butt 😾 Dru was my chic tho and kori crazy self I loved who may became as a woman! Over all great job lucinda!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
This book deserved more than 5⭐️. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The book flow so well and I love the development of each character. Imani was a monster for all the hurt he cause Dru and Vicki and he got what he deserved. Fantastic read..
Aw man this was really good! I didn’t want it to end. Iman was insane for real smh. I was disappointed in Kori’s butt too for a little while. I was proud of Nya and Dru to pushing on through the pain. Great job!!
I loved everything about this book from the beginning to the end!!! Dru and Shadow’s love for each other was a force to be reckoned with. Iman got what was coming to him and I hate that happened to Victoria sad to see it end!! Great job
This book was soo good. I love Nya and Trell together. Kori didn’t deserve her, but that didn’t make Kirk a bad person. Deluca and Dru were good together. It just took Dru to long to see it. Iman was real life psycho. Great read🔥
Lucinda John did it once again! She is an amazing author. I am glad Dru and Shadow ended up together. Nya and Trell, even Kori deserved to be happy. This book was good and I can’t wait for Lucinda to release something else!
Lucinda you did it again. I love your books and this one once again was great! Characters were outstanding. Dru and Shadow were my favorite. Followed by Trell and Nya. I was very pleased with the storyline and the ending was great!
