All her life Marcella strove for one thing. Becoming a Sixth. Now, she’s got so much more than she bargained for. Not only does she have six mates to contend with, but her powers are growing and changing too, and, just to top it off, her father is trying to kidnap her!

Daddy dearest is evil. There's no denying that. But that propensity for darkness? It's inside her. Forged into her bones from ages past through an ancestral line that is littered with massacres and wars!

With the awakening of the Sires, life as everyone knows it is on the brink of change. Pursangs, salsangs, supernaturals, and humans alike will be touched by it, but as always, there are two sides:

Good...
Evil...

But when good is tinged with evil, and evil is tinged with good, which side is truly the best option?

Is there a compromise that could be reached? A way out that isn’t lined with bloodshed and death? How much evil would you tolerate for the greater good?

Holy shit, this series is full of twists and turns!

None of what's happening is seen coming, and best part, it doesn't even try to be suspenseful. Which makes the twists that much effective because you don't see anything coming.

Eh.

Enjoyable but still flat. I think I've finally pinned down what is irritating me about this series. The book itself is too sort so the pacing and character development doesn't really happen in a way I prefer and that means the pace of the event sort of just slowly bubbles along and there is not big plot point, the characters sort of just stumble into a slight drama that causes issues. And in this case they were very confusing and made not a huge amount of sense. And then as fast as it comes the tension is gone. There isn't really a build up that you get in a longer novel. Honestly the plot keeps making confusing turns that don't answer any questions that have been created and that is just frustrating to read. Also, what the heck happened to the second bunch of dudes?the bikers? They were supposedly heading to Boston as well but they never turned up so that whole chapter explaining that felt like a waste. Not to mention the fact that we hardly ever get information about locations and weather and such so when they threw in that the academy was in California that shouldn't have been the first we heard about it. I really just feel like this entire series is a bit underdeveloped in details, character development and plot. It's unfortunate because I really like the idea and the outline but the meat isn't really there.
What really happened in this book anyway? They met her dad, freed aurther, met the other bunch of dudes, killed her dad, went to Boston to go to a shitty party, went to a council meeting that turned into a shit show and then went back in time.

Marcella and the boys are back! We learn much about Marcella's father and the four Sires. Many conflicts keep this book moving, and much space is given to RH fun. In fact, there might be a little too much as the latter; there seems to be a lot of it presented in very vivid detail. While I always enjoy the arc of the individual stories within this series, I'm always somewhat repulsed by the level of profanity in the books as I don't really see a need for it; I think authors believe they need to do so to appeal to late-teen, early twenties readers. There were some issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, including a dangling modifier right in the first paragraph. If you've enjoyed the other books in this series, you'll most likely enjoy this one that looks deeper into the entire world of the series. If you are new to this series, you definitely need to start at book one because it does build book by book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Marcella, Darius and the Brotherhood, consisting of Cade, Barclay, Raven, Kieran and Gideon, return to Westwood Academy to awaken the Sire that is sleeping there. What they don't expect is to run into her father, the one she only knows by voice. Her father abused and tortured her mother for Marcella's short life with her. Her mother dumped her at the academy when she was eight and abandoned her, only returning once after that before dying. Marcella's father beat her for trying to protect her mother and he never cared for her in any way. She was less than nothing to him. Marcella was never supposed to leave the academy and when she ran with her Brotherhood it put a target on her back. Now he wants to kidnap his daughter but Marcella, Darius and the Brotherhood aren't about to let that happen. They will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe, even if they need to start a war. They engage the help of the Calvary and the Reapers before having to face the council but there is so much more in play. Can they all survive what is coming?

I just lost interest in this series. It was fine until all the Arthurian Sires and stuff. The age discrepancy between the Sires and Darius was annoying, but I can overlook that. Yes, a little research goes a long way. What got me was how boring it all became. I stopped even caring about Marcella, as her character really took a nosedive in my opinion. She became unlikable and I couldn't see much of the girl we met in books 1-2. The relationships became boring, also. I just noticed I kept dreading picking it back up to get to the part where this installment inevitably takes off (if the other reviews are anything to go by). So, others may read it, finish the series and be thrilled. I just need to move on. Still like the authors, though, and will still read other books by them if given the opportunity.

Picking up where we left off with book three, Marcella faces off with her father. She has to deal with her evolving powers and her six mates. Yeah she may have her hands tied just a little.

Guys, I really think this series just keeps getting better and better. Marcella and her guys are good together. The story line while it has always been good, just seems to have a bit more in this one. Also I really enjoy book where we get multiple pov's, I just really like knowing what they all think.

So overall, this is a awesome series. The characters are interesting and all have great chemistry. The plot is ever changing and keeps the reader on their toes. If you have not started this series, you really should. Start from book one. If you have read the series, this is the best one yet!!

I’ve loved this series so far and this book did not disappoint. It was very well written and the story and characters are well developed. I love the individual personalities and enjoyed seeing the individual relationship dynamics evolve over the books. The story is action packed and full of twists and turns. There is plenty of suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!! I’d highly recommend this book!!

NB:
a) You MUST read the other books in the series to get a full picture!

b) This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger.

While I am a avid reader, I have just now started to expand my book genre to paranormal. I have to say the Salsang Chronicles have been very entertaining thus far. Not only do they have swoon worthy males but a kicka$$ heroine! The love scenes are HOT HOT HOT. But more than that the story line is very interesting! I love the back story of Merlin King author and the knights. It is a lot of information but that’s what I like about it. These are not books that are just about the sex but about an amazing story that the author is doing a wonderful job telling. I am eager to see what happens next! Great read definitely worth your time!

Stained Bonds is Book 4 in the Salang Chronicles by Helen Scott. As the first three books in this series, this is well written and the characters are well developed, complex, and interesting. The different points of view of the characters add more depth as it is always helpful and interesting to know what they are thinking. The story has a good pace, has plenty of action and lots of twists and turns. It does end on a cliffhanger and I am anxious for the next in series to find out what Helen has in store for Marcella and her guys. Received a free copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary review.

I read book 1 in the series but surprisingly missed books 2 & 3. When I came across book 4 I picked it up hoping that I would be able to connect the dots enough to read this series further.

Luckily for me it took me some time but I could figure out what was going on and reconnect with the lives of Marcella and her mates.

It was a mind-blowing adventure and I'm glad I took a chance on this after missing 2 books in the middle.

Can't wait for book 5.

This book really picks up where the last left off. It never and it just keeps you wanting more and on a cliff hanger. I just want to know what is going to happen next. I can't really say much without giving away hints or spoilers, so all I'm going to say is that you need to read the book if you're already reading the series from the beginning. You won't be disappointed.

First, you must read I order to truly enjoy this wicked and intense series. Second, OMG this was amazing and never would of guessed what would happen. This ends in a cliffhanger that will leave you so needing the next book. So much is happening with Marcella and her mates. Danger and evil seem to follow them everywhere. Action and a lot of fighting. Tons of magic and some very hot and intense scenes.

Another perfect book in the series

Ugh, I have to wait for my next fix!! I hope the next book in the series does not too long to come out. This book ended in a cliffhanger and it has me sitting on the edge of my seat. Each book I read in this series makes me love it even more. They are written well and as the story unfolds the deeper you fall into it. Which is perfect.
