;) Title: ➳ Stolen Justice Series ➳Cass Leary Legal Thriller 4# Author: ➳ Robin James Publication: ➳ August 9th 2019 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ღ She stared into the face of evil. And she Survived! Or did she?
I think one of the things I love the most about Cass Leary is, she never walks away from challenge. in this install we see just that…
The name echoed through people like distant thunder. For twenty-four years, people around town had uttered it in one long, unbroken stream of syllables. Sean Allen Bridges. The headline read, “Day of Reckoning for a ‘Campus Killer.”And course Cass is considering taking on this case
Without giving away too much … you’ll see the challenges Cass faces in this small town in Michigan, where she grew up & couldn’t get out fast enough- but yet here she is again back home doing what she does best, risking it all to uncover the truth
ou would think that most people in this small remote town would know better that Cass isn’t push over, so of course she took the cases that no one wanted The back stories ⬇
I love watching the bond between Cass & her brothers & her sister grow & what I truly love is how Robin James might let you think you know where her ploy might be going, & then she throws you a curveball- Oh how I enjoy watching Cass & Eric ,& how their relationship is developing ….
♥●•I loved the book. The twists in this story just added to the plot. I am looking forward to reading more from this author !
➳ I love a good organized crime tale...this one hit the mark or should I say 🔨 it
➳The books in this series can be read as stand-alone books, but Cuz of the back story about Cass family & also Thorne family I suggest reading in order
Reading order 1. Burden of Truth 2. Silent Witness 3. Devil's Bargain 4. Stolen Justice 5- Blood Evidence
➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review 💕
➦ 💕 I received an EXCLUSIVE copy of this book in exchange for my honest review of it. 💕 💕 . .**This has not influenced my review.* **
I wish Robin James would have a little better imagination. She uses the same descriptions over and over. It’s almost like she rewrites the same book just change the plot. I was pleasantly surprised though that she didn’t have the same type of enemies (the whole town, her family, a judge) hating on her. It only took four books! Personally, i don’t think she is as good a lawyer as she keeps telling people she is. Why does she need to tell people over and over “I’m really good at what I do”. Who is she trying to convince? If you’re good you don’t need to keep telling people you’re good. You know?
A nice thriller with enough twists and turns to keep Cass Leary in a tizzy. She’s determined, folksy, hard worker, honest and sure footed in her job and around her town. Her persona attracts the likable and it shows. Quite sure some of these traits are deep seated in the author as well.
Robin has yet again wowed me with this story of Stolen Justice❣️Tori her newest addition to the team, asks Cass to look into a murder that her father is imprisoned for, that occurred before she was born. She believes her father is innocent of the crime, but the evidence is irrefutable. Cass makes no promises but as she starts unraveling the evidence and documentation for the murder, she has more questions than answers. However, Cass approaches her cases with a determination and a tenacity that is above and beyond even if she’s not the most popular person in town.
An absolutely fantastic series that I am so happy was brought to my attention, as I couldn’t imagine a world without Cass Leary and her loyal sidekicks😍 Thank you Robin for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review🤩
Tbis was the best book in the Cass Leary series. The author really made you understand how " The Blue Line " works, how the Police will go to great lengths to protect their fellow officers. Cass opens up a case that takes place 24 years ago, her new Paralegal s father is serving a Life Sentence for a Brutal Rape and Murder and Cass is asked to look into the old investigation. Naturally this upsets the local police force and only one officer ( Eric Wray ) is open minded enough to help her. This puts officer Wray in a bad situation with his fellow officers. Besides the main storyline, Cass has to deal with her younger sister and niece and confront issues that deal with her past. Great writing and and a great ending.
This book was great! And Cass still shows us that she is still a bad@$$ lawyer. I love the ups and downs, the twists and turns and how the evidence all mounts up to show 100% guilt against the defendant. However, with Cass, she can always work magic with the truth. You won't regret reading this one! Can't wait to see what book 5 contains with Case's house, Eric and Tori. I feel that I personally know the characters. That's great writing!
A lot of twists in this one. Cass is again on a case that puts her at odds with the police, and the whole town. Twenty four years ago a young woman was brutally murdered, the convicted man proclaiming his innocence. His daughter is now a paralegal in Case's office. She asks Cass to look into this old case. And that's when it all begins !
Fun page turner using limited vocabulary. This is my second Robin James novel. I recommended the first book to law students. Now I do not know. Lots of detective, not much law.
I’m going to continue reading this series, but this installment was meh big-time. I finished it hours ago, and I’ve already had to go back and refresh my memory. Additionally, this felt formulaic to me. It felt like the first book in the series repeated, but the first book was wonderful. this, not so much.
So, Cass Leary has a new paralegal, and a jury convicted the young woman’s dad of the murder of a college student years earlier. He has languished in a prison, and the poor bloke has contracted pancreatic cancer. Although he maintains his innocence, he figures he’ll die in prison. But his whip smart firebrand daughter just wants justice. She’s convinced her dad is innocent, and eventually, so is Cass Leary.
As it was with the first book, Cass’s decision to reopen this case draws hate and ire from the community. (Nothing new there.) There’s absolutely no courtroom drama here. This felt like more mystery than legal thriller to me, but whatever.
If my reaction to the next book in the series is like this one, I’ll wrap this up early and not finish the series.
This is the 4th in the series about Cass Leary. Cass came home several years ago from being a lawyer at a high dollar law firm. She came home broke and started her law practice. She is always know for taking those tough cases that no one else wants to take.
This is another one that isn't going to go well in her hometown. When her paralegal comes to her and asks her for help, she can't refuse. But, this case she is asked to look into is one of the most well known in her town. Sean Allen Bridges was sentence to prison for the murder of a local girl, Heather, shooting her 14 times!
This time, will taking the case cost more then ever? Will she put her own life and her families life in danger to find out the truth and is Sean innocent and been in jail for 24 years for a crime he didn't commit, or will she have to let her paralegal, Tori, that her father is a killer!
Once more Cass Leary, whose local attorney business is beginning to succeed, takes on a case that has her town up in arms. Her newly hired office paralegal is the daughter of a man dying of cancer in prison, where he’s spent decades for murder. There is little evidence showing he doesn’t belong behind bars.
There are pluses and minuses to reading multiple installments of a series. While it’s great to know the characters well, it’s a pain listening to rehash of detailed facts we know. That’s a major problem here as there are so many characters, many whom are not a part of this story whatsoever. Someone reading this series for the first time would wonder why they were even mentioned.
Overall, a quick read, fairly well done and again recommended.
After finishing a 800+ page biography of Golda Meir, and knowing Meg Basham’s book will be released tomorrow, I needed a quick, entertaining book to read in between, and Robin James’ fourth installment of the Cass Leary Series was just right. “Stolen Justice” is the story of defense attorney extraordinaire, Cass Leary’s, investigation of a murder which took place twenty-four years ago. There is a chance that the wrong man has been in prison for the crime, and Cass races against time to discover the truth as the incarcerated man is dying of pancreatic cancer. It contains twists and turns, and in my opinion is the best of this series so far. Its 324 pages reads very quickly, and any one who enjoys legal fiction will enjoy this book.
Stolen Justice is the fourth book in the Cass Leary Legal Thriller Series by Robin James. This is a gripping and emotionally charged legal thriller series that is as compelling as it is thought-provoking. Cass Leary is a fiercely intelligent and tenacious attorney who navigates the murky waters of justice with a mix of grit, vulnerability, and unyielding determination. The cases in the series are diverse and meticulously detailed, ranging from domestic disputes to high-stakes criminal trials. Robin James’ background as a legal practitioner shines through in the authenticity of the courtroom scenes and the nuanced exploration of ethical dilemmas. Each book is a page-turner, filled with unexpected twists, moral gray areas, and moments of genuine suspense. Happy Reading…
I'm digging how Robin James keeps the stories revolving around her main characters. I find it just adds to how much I actually care about the defendants in each case. I'd read a bunch of these courtroom thrillers and oftentimes I don't care at all about the people involved. Since these are people that Cass Leary actually cares about, I seem to care as well.
In the past books, I kind of grew tired of her troubled family and her covering up for them so this was a nice breath of fresh air. Her family finally grew up and she can focus on other things now.
Liking this series. It's quick, doesn't bog down much and you get to really like what Cass is all about.
I liked this one. It wasn’t my favorite in the series, but it was still a fun read. It grabbed me from the beginning and, as always, had a pulsating heart throughout. I love all of the recurring characters and am always rooting for our protagonist Cass. I love reading about her life and I’m not ready for this series to be over. I really enjoy the setting in Delphi, Michigan with the small, home-town feel and all of the extra mess that comes along with everyone “knowing” everyone. Robin James paints a great picture of life here for all of her characters and makes you want to keep coming back. Think I get one more ;).
The more Cass Leary books I read by Robin James, the more I feel I know Cass, the town, and the whole crew. Ms. James does an excellent job of character development, they are all growing deeper, more complex and interesting. You might find yourself thinking, "Oh, that person reminds me of so-and-so down the street." While I prefer to read series, liking to immerse myself in the characters' lives and storyline, these Cass Leary stories literally suck you in and won't let you go. It's a good thing. Highly recommend Stolen Justice.
Another great read with lots of mystery suspense and family drama for Cass. This one she is trying to prove an innocent man has spent his life in prison and tries to get him out before he dies. Of course she has her small town against her and trouble seems to find her again. I love how Robin James draws me into these books with her writing and knowledge of the law and the crimes. And keeps me to the end.
If now read four of Robin’s novels and I have not been disappointed. I didn’t want to put them down. You can read them out of order, but I wouldn’t. Cass Leary Legal Thrillers are excellent well written novels. Can’t wait for the next one!!! Dr. C. 😎💕🍷🍷🎊🎉
Robin James has become one of my favorite authors. She begins each of her stories right away, has no fill in information. She tells a great story each time, and always informs the reader who she is talking about. This one did not have the usual courtroom drama, but never the less kept the reader well informed.
A great story line about a close friend of Cass who's father is in prison for murder years ago. You learn about some pretty crazy things as to why he's there and how his daughter is pleading for him to get out. Good story keeps you wondering who did what written well like all the others in the series. On to the next!
Taking a brief break from the Cass Leary Legal Thrillers after reading 4 within a total of, I think, 6 days!! LOL REALLY enjoying them - enough legal jargon without being overwhelming, lots of suspense, lots of danger, particularly for Cass and her family because of her cases, but justice WILL prevail! I'll get started with #5 soon!
Faith in humanity is restored with this book! “Stolen Justice,” by Robin James. First of all, even if your family doesn’t make you proud you can make you proud of yourself, all you have to do is want to rise up.
Even though this book is based on a court case, it is more investigative than courtroom drama. It’s a great story about never giving up!
Another solid legal thriller from Robin James. She does a great job of having court room details that only someone that works in the industry can provide. Also, the character development has been really good. The way she is tiring the books together even though they are different cases is really nice. Fast paced read and makes you wanna just keep going.
