An Utterly Compelling Psychological Thriller From a Best-selling Author
Would you choose to save your child if it meant someone else had to die?
Victoria and Jonathan Lyons seem to have everything—a perfect marriage, a beautiful daughter, Emily, and a successful business. Until they discover Emily, aged five, has a rare and fatal illness.
Medical trials show that a temporary fix would be to transplant a hormone from a living donor. However in the trials the donors die within twenty four hours. Victoria and Jonathan are forced to accept that their daughter is going to die.
In an unfortunate twist of fate Jonathan is suddenly killed in a farming accident and Victoria turns to her sick father-in-law, Frank, for help. Then a series of events present Victoria and Frank with a situation that, although illegal, could save Emily.
Will they take their one chance and should they?
A Sinister and Darkly Compelling Psychological Thriller Novel, this book is intended for mature audiences and contains graphic and disturbing imagery.
Netta Newbound is the best-selling author of The Watcher.
Did you catch the disclaimer at the end of the blurb? This book is intended for mature audiences, I may have scoffed at that when I first read it. I read intense and disturbing books almost everyday, this can’t be that graphic, right? Wrong. Having never read anything by Newbound before I had no idea what I was in for, but wow this was dark, graphic and gory. The heads up is entirely necessary, I should never have rolled my eyes!
How far would you go to save your only child? As a mother, I couldn’t help but think of what I would do if I was put in the horrible situation that Victoria was in. Of course I would do anything to keep my children safe and sound, but could I go against all of my morals, values and everything I stand for to keep them alive? I would like to say yes, but I really don’t know exactly what I would do if I were in Victoria’s shoes, it’s a parents worst nightmare.
This has such a twisty, turny plot that it’s almost impossible to review. An impossible dilemma if you will. (See what I did there?!)It’s one where I would think I had it all figured out and had an inkling about what would happen next only for things to go off in an entirely different direction leaving me hanging my mouth open in shock and awe. I expected this to be an emotional read, and it was but it took a much darker path than I was expecting. Parts of this were gruesome and highly disturbing, Newbound’s writing style is so good and descriptive I found myself a little nauseous. That’s a compliment by the way, she was describing horrifying events and did an excellent job, I just want to warn the readers that may be expecting something slightly dark that this is very dark and detailed. If you can handle graphic situations then you’ll love this one like I did!
This is a psychological thriller with some good twists and shocks throughout.
At first I felt too shell shocked to get my head around this fully. Having read this a couple of weeks ago, I can now post a review with less of the “Oh my goodness, what just happened?” kind of comments.
This book had my emotions all over the place. Sometimes it was tense and emotional, at other times it was horrific, and on occasions it had a very dark comedy feel to it. This story had quite a psychological impact on me at times, and raised the interesting concept of nature versus nurture, which I found fascinating.
One incident had me almost screaming out loud. I felt physically sick and had sweaty palms from the stress of it. Another, had me holding my hand over my mouth for the entire time, and I could feel myself physically backing away from my Kindle in an attempt to avoid face contact with an unpleasant object.
The pigs made me think of Hannibal, and my tummy is churning slightly at the thought of the bacon I had for lunch, as the memories of this book come flooding back. Based on a conversation I had with others during a book club discussion about this book, thank goodness I went for the bacon option. I think cheese and sausages may be off the menu for a while.
Frank was my favourite character. He had that ‘calm in a crisis’ personality, which was about the only thing that kept me sane while reading this.
I read this for our Book of the Month in THE Book Club on Facebook. I would like to thank the author, Netta, for taking the time to get involved in our discussion of her book. It was a somewhat entertaining discussion, and I hope this book is a huge success.
What an utterly heart-breaking, compelling read this was. Congratulations to Netta for writing such a fabulous book.
Vitoria and Jonathon have everything - a successful business, the perfect marriage and a beautiful five-year-old daughter, Emily - until they learn that Emily has a fatal illness.
Victoria takes to the internet and discovers there have been trials to find a cure for Emily's illness but the trials were cancelled because of disappointing results.
What happens next is where this incredible story begins to mess with the reader's mind, to say more would end up spoiling other people's enjoyment.
All I can say is that you need to read this intelligently written plot to find out the conclusion to one mother's Impossible Dilemma.
I would like to thank Book Enthusiast Promotions via Net Galley for providing me with a copy to read and review
I love the book cover its eye catching to me, I think that is why I looked further into what it was about. The blurb sounded 'just up my street' too and convinced me it was something I would most likely enjoy reading.
I am sat on the fencewith this one.
All in all it a good read. But I seem to be a little different to my other review buddies here and say there were some things in this book that was bugging me.
First we had repetitives. Things that the author would reiterate later when there was no need to do so. This is just 'my' opinion. There would be a statement about something then a bit further on this would be repeated again. Readers do remember things. Its memory that helps you learn to read. And its memory that takes up readers on a journey in a book when we sit down and pick it up again later. We do have a good memory for details. So I felt, this bit did bug me. I have to say.
I had a problem with the perplexity of this book. It had a GREAT story to it, don't get me wrong. I liked it and I would say, go ahead, read it, make your own mind up about it.
Without going into details and giving my thoughts away, one perplexity of this read was the unbeleivable attempting to be the beleivable which I found so hard, yes so hard to accept.
This is most definitely verging on the side of "horror" However, if you do read horror as a rule then this will be mild or you may not class it as horror yourself, but, like myself, who doesn't read horror as a rule, this is most definitely horror. Its the ONLY way I can explain myself without giving something away.
Taking awaythose downsides, the book had an impact in me. As to how far you would go to save your child. However, you would need to be a sicko to do what's in this book. That is what was so unbelievable to me, it was done is so much of a MATTER OF FACT solution when in fact, it would have freaked me right out, in fact, no sane logical lover of human life and respect for others and certainly not a psycho would do, even think of such an act, not once, not twice but three times.
I have not given any spoilers away as you probably don't know what the hell I am on about, but read it, see for yourself. For me its a 3.5 stars because the book was something I needed to finish and the ending was good. But for those other points of concern.
This book is a really exciting and readable tale of a woman in the most dreadful of circumstance. She faces the deterioration of her five year-old daughter’s health with a condition which is terminal. Another crisis occurs in her life to make this even more poignant – if you can imagine anything worse than losing your only child. Clinical trials on the use of a hormone have been halted and Victoria, a vet, together with her father-in-law Frank, is determined to try this to give her baby the only chance of life. Would you commit a crime to give your child life?
The story is well told and I enjoyed it, but I didn’t find it at all believable. However, as someone who likes sci-fi and fantasy, I can suspend my disbelief to an extent. I didn’t find it likely that Vic and Frank would switch character so suddenly. Having said that, I read it in a day – that’s how the author pulls you into the story. A very good read and a solid four stars from me.
I must admit I brought this book due to the fact that I was drawn in by the stunning cover which has buy me written all over it. So to be totally honest I had no idea what this story was about when I started reading it. This is the first book that I have read by Netta Newbound and certainly wont be my last. The author has pulled out all the punches with this story.
Imagine your child has a rare and fatal illness, Would you choose to save your child if it meant someone else had to die?
Well Victoria and Jonathan seem to have the perfect marriage and beautiful daughter Emily until one day they find out she has a rare and factual illness. Medical trials show that a temporary fix would be to transplant a hormone from a living donor. Heartbreaking for them they are forced to accept the fact their daughter is going to die. But Jonathan is suddenly killed in a farming accident and Victoria turns to her sick father-in-law, Frank, for help. Then a series of events present Victoria and Frank with a situation that, although illegal, could save Emily.
What can I say but OMFG what a nail biting story!! Seriously I am still hyperventilating.
After The first couple of chapters this story takes a turn I just didn't see coming and it doesn't stop there either. Honestly I have a lump in my throat just thinking about what an affect this story had on me. One minute I am feeling sorry for Victoria then the next I am like OMG what are you doing! Taking me through a whirlwind of emotions. I couldn't read this book fast enough. This one hell of a compelling page turner that's for sure.
This book certainly isn't for the fainthearted with scenes that will make your toes curls. The shock value of this story is at its greatest and full of twists and turns like I've never read before. The author writes about Sensitive subjects, that some people will find disturbing, but for me this is where my heart was in my throat!!
This story is so tense I found myself on the edge of my sit while my stomach was doing somersaults. And forgetting to breath while reading. Netta what have you done to me?!.....LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
An Impossible Dilemma is one of those books that will stay with me forever making this one of my top reads for 2017.
This is a must read for Fans of Dark and twisted Psychological Thrillers.Which I cannot recommend it enough giving it 5 massive gold stars.
After reading the book description of An Impossible Dilemma, as a reader I thought 'yeah I like the sound of this' but as a parent reading anything about a child and fatal illnesses I did wonder if I would find it to emotional.
Don't get me wrong to start with I did find the storyline a bit upsetting and was nearly in tears at one point but then the story goes into a totally different direction that I wasn't expecting.
An Impossible Dilemma really is one to watch out for with a fantastic storyline and twists that the reader truly does not see coming. There is one particular twist towards the end that totally took my breath away.
This really is quite a hard book to review as believe me I want to just scream out to people how brilliant this book is but to say any more than I have I will end up giving spoilers away and I would hate to be responsible for ruining the experience of this book for someone else.
All I will say is for me personally because of certain parts in the story at times could quite easily have this book characterised as a horror genre but mainly it is a thriller. It does leave the reader questioning how far they would go for their children.
I can not believe I have never come across this authors work before, I think it should be made compulsory that everyone reads this book as I am now dying to tell everyone about it and I REALLY want to talk about the content as it seriously is that good. It certainly isn't one for the faint hearted!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Netta Newbound and this one is no exception, although I did develop somewhat of a love/hate relationship with this one. I immediately fell in love with Vic and Jon and Frank. I cried several times during the first few chapters as they face the more horrendous nightmare any parent can face—their child is dying. Vic’s strength and determination makes her a character you want to cheer for.
To say more is to give away spoilers and I try to never do that. A highly emotional read that had me crying, cringing in horror, yet pulled me into a deeper understanding of desperation and love. Playing God has consequences, yet how far would any of us go to save our child?
A well written unique plot with great character development.
I feel numb after reading An Impossible Dilemma. I think I felt every emotion possible.
Victoria having lost the love of her life in a tragic farming accident is left facing the horrible prospect of losing her young daughter to a fatal condition. Clinical trials in the Far East have shown some success by a donation of a particular hormone. The only problem is the donor dies. How far do you go for your child?
As a mother and a wife, I was left in tears after Emily's diagnosis and Jonathan's death. What happened next was the start of a journey that Victoria couldn't return from and I'm not sure it's something I could do even with the skills she has.
I felt compelled to keep reading; the book wasn't what I expected in the slightest. I thought it would be a tear jerker from beginning to end but it felt more of a suspense novel with "what's going to happen next to this family?"
This is the first Netta Newbound book I've read and I possibly wouldn't have read it except for the author being a member of the same online book club, THE Book Club on Facebook, as me. I'll definitely be reading more from this author if An Impossible Dilemma is anything to go by.
Thank you to Netgalley and Book Enthusiast Promotions for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.
As a mother myself, I could really identify with the main character as she found herself making some tough choices, but knowing that she couldn't face her sweet child's face knowing she had the chance to save her, and let it slide through her fingers. Netta is a master of suspense and I found myself glued to the story for a whole day and late into the wee small hours of the morning to find out what the conclusion might be. Thriller is a very apt title and I am left wondering if she had watched Sweeny Todd at some stage in her life, because the gruesome factor was pretty close to that musical thriller. Her style is very smooth and easy to read, and I would definitely recommend it for those who like having the pants scared off them.
An Impossible Dilemma by Netta Newbound delivered punch after punch of jaw dropping twists and turns, which made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Following the lives of Victoria and Jonathan, and their daughter Emily, who has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, the book explores the trails and tribulations of facing a possible death sentence for their child, and the age old question of "how much would you do to save your child" rings volumes throughout the book. A complete page turner that keeps the shocks coming until the very end, and will leave you wanting more from this talented author. A must read for fans of this genre, you won't be left disappointed

My Review An Impossible Dilemma is a dark, disturbing and heart wrenching psychological thriller. It will make you question a families sanity and values, lead you down a path of "what if". Would you do the same, truly how far would you go. I fully understood the nature of the book and the fact there was graphic content which isn't always to everyone's taste, but I believe it was written in a context that made the outcomes of each situation that Victoria and Frank found themselves in more believable rather than if they hadn't been put in at all. I really enjoyed the shock and awe factor to the story, truly well written and a gripping read. A family who undoubtedly had their fair share of tragedy, face the cruellest situation imaginable. A daughter with a rare genetic condition with no known cure, clinical trials have been halted so a death sentence looms for Victoria's daughter and Franks granddaughter. An opportunity arises to slow down Emily's progressive condition and its seized with both hands, now there's no going back.
This psychological thriller is centred around every mothers nightmare, it may not be every readers cup of tea but Netta Newbound can certainly bring a new angle to dark and compelling. Definitely a dark, compelling, horrifyingly detailed graphic scenes, but a book well worth reading if you can stomach the details. An Impossible Dilemma, definitely.
I'll start by saying i've never read a Netta Newbound novel. After finishing this i can't for the life of me work out why on earth not?!?
It's brilliant. In a truly dark & twisted way, it really is fantastic.
The beginning of the story draws you in from the very first chapter. There's no build up, you are taken right to the heart of the most awful thing i can think of as a mother. Your 5 year old daughter is dying, there is no cure, it's terminal, she has months to live. Just reading this made my whole body shiver as an icy cold hand gripped my heart and tears sprung to my eyes.
If this wasn't bad enough, how would you feel if your husband, your best friend and soul mate were taken away in a cruel and unusual accident?
For the most part, tears were never far from my eyes whilst reading this book. The moral dilemma that is posed by the author in this book played on my mind all the way through and has stuck with me since. I mean really, how far WOULD you go to save your child. To be honest, i found myself asking the question how far COULD you go instead. In theory it's easy to say you'd move heaven and earth to save your child, of course you would. But what the author gives us here will have you questioning all your morals and instincts.
It's a brilliantly written piece of work. Well thought out, extremely plausible and is guaranteed to play with your head. The characters are well portrayed and more importantly believable. They could be your next door neighbours. This is a book that truly does deserve the line of it being a psychological thriller. Although, i would say, at points it seamlessly strays into horror. What really made me sit up and take notice was the way it took off on a completely different tangent. I was side swiped by the turn the story took, i couldn't have predicted it if i'd tried! I mean...WOW!
How far would you go to save your daughter? Would you sacrifice another person in order to save her? That is the question posed by An Impossible Dilemma.
I am a big fan of Netta Newbound, she has a way with writing that sucks the reader in, her characters are believable and although the situation that Victoria finds herself in is anything but normal, I could always understand her actions, even if I don’t think that I could have done the same.
I actually read this book two years ago, but it has stayed with me and despite that and reading many other books in that time, I still remember clearly how I felt reading this book. Newbound once again crafts a gruesome tale, she really does have a way with words and an imagination that is, I think, unrivalled within the crime writing scene. There are a few scenes in An Impossible Dilemma that stay with me to this day.
The book is easy to read and will definitely grip you and suck you in, and it is bound to give you a lot to think about. If you’re a thriller fan then you are sure to enjoy this and if you have yet to read any books by Netta Newbound then this book is sure to convert you. I’m also sure that you will never look at pigs in the same way again!
I was provided with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Whoa! That's how I felt after I finished reading "An Impossible Dilema" - the powerful novel from Newbound that brings forth a multitude of emotions within the reader. The story goes around Victoria and Jonathan Lyons, a vet couple settled in a seemingly successful marriage and life. Disaster strikes when they learn that their much-adored 5-yr-old is down with a terminal illness. The legal route of medicine and donor transplant fail them. To add to her woes, Jonathan's untimely and cruel death leaves Victoria all alone, picking up the broken pieces of what was once a happy family. With only an ailing father-in-law to her aid, Victoria decides to take law and the science into her own hands. Does she succeed at saving her daughter, or does she succumb to the evils of life, is what the book takes us through.
At the outset, I need to warn that the book is way too strong for a casual read. If you're someone who abhors reading about rape and sexual violence, or if reading about medical and scientific details of death and the body can make you squirm, I suggest you stay away from this book. That said, the author's brilliance in handling a very complicated plot is commendable. Although there are many interwoven layers of emotional stress, family drama, scientific battles and legal righteousness, the plot doesn't steer away from the central line - where does a mother stop when it's a question of saving her child? Nowhere! With the numerous suspense twists and turns, there is not much scope left in the plot to present a detailed sketch of the characterisation of Victoria, but whatever little scope there was, the author has made use of it well.
With a nail-biting storyline, the book is an excellent emotional thriller! Newbound shows a lot of promise in her debut novel and I'm looking forward to reading a lot more of her work.
I highly recommend this book to strong-hearted thriller lovers.
It's barely 4 am, I am still reading about a sick demented family that love each other so much that the mother will kill over and over again to save her daughter. It's one of the most interesting far out there books I have read. What a mother will do to save her child? The daughter has a brain injury that she inherited from her parents. She does not produce a hormone that keeps the brain from losing it elasticity. Without this hormone the brain becomes brittle and the child slowly loses the ability to read, talk, interact. There was a cancer trial that had ended a few months earlier. The hospital that is treating their daughter want her to participate in the trial. It's ended, but the doctors are wanting to monitor and help Emily as much as they can. The parents are vets and understand that if they can harvest the hormone by cracking open the brain stem, harvesting the protein hormone, and inject it into the stem cell of their daughter: She will live. What happens is horrible, but the first person dies after raping the mother and her and her father in law kills him....but they reason it was self defense. You really have to read this. It is so real, but there is always an outcome to every decision. Some good, some bad. And one little girl with a very high intelligence that understands she needs the medicine that mommy gives her. The next person has tried to commit suicide after beating his girlfriend senseless and hospitalized her. They reason no one will be looking for him is he is from Spain. He was so evil that they fed him to the pigs. Emily begins to get in fights at school. She likes Spanish food and dancing. Next, well you will just have to read where they decide to stop. Every decision,I can reason with.
An Impossible Dilemma: A Psychological Thriller Novel by Netta Newbound poses a difficult question. How far will a mother go to save the life of her child? Victoria and Jonathon Lyon are a young, professional couple, fun-loving and happy, until their five-year-old daughter is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Trials of a Chinese treatment involving stem cells have been abandoned; the donors died within a day, so doctors have no hope to offer. After Jonathon’s accidental death Victoria is raped, but she overcomes her attacker with potentially deadly results. She has an evil man at her mercy, veterinary skill, a father-in-law who is an ex-butcher, a remote farm, and a sick child. Will a mother’s love prevail over conscience and justice?
“Is this how serial killers are born?” This is Victoria’s agonised internal question in An Impossible Dilemma: A Psychological Thriller Novel. Netta Newbound has created a world based firmly in reality, centred on a rural English community and given Victoria an impossible dilemma that leads the reader down an increasingly terrifying path of horror. Emily is Victoria’s everything, especially after the tragic death of her husband. With the help of Frank, her elderly father-in-law, she obtains the fluid that Chinese tests proved worked and injects it into Emily, with miraculous results. She has extended her time with her precious daughter by six months. When Emily sickens again, can Victoria bear to see her suffer and die? An Impossible Dilemma is the most horrific and powerful thriller I have ever read.
I am an independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I'm giving this one 4.5 Fangs. I had a bit of trouble getting into the story and then it started breaking my heart.
Netta Newbound brings us a heartbreaking tale of loss. It is the story of a wonderful Mother (Vicotria), whose life is ripped out from under her in pieces. Set on a lovely English farm. Victoria and Jonathan live on the farm that Jonathan grew up on and have come home to run the farm and carry on a Veterinarian practice, after Jonathan's father has a stroke, when their 5 year old daughter who is diagnosed with an incurable disease. Then the blocks keep falling. Jonathan is killed in a farming accident, and the horrible chain of events start, This is a nail-biting and heartbreaking story. What seems to be a normal rural life has twists and shocks and is full of horrible turns. I felt ill while reading some of the scenes. But, as a Mother I would move heaven and earth if I could to find a cure if one of my children were in this sitiuation.
I found the story so compelling and after Jonathan's untimely death, I couldn't stop reading. All the characters are well defined and the plot keeps you interested right up till the bang in your face ending. I didn't see it coming. The last bit felt a bit rushed but all in all a wonderfully told and compelling story.
I'd highly recommend this to readers of Psychological Thrillers, Suspense and Horror. It has some very realistic squeamish chapters.
I look forward to reading more by this Ms. Newbound.
How far would you go for your child? That’s the question protagonist Victoria needs to answer in this heart-stopping thriller, An Impossible Dilemma. The novel has a promising start with two vets, Victoria and Jonathan, who have the seemingly perfect life. A good marriage, a beautiful five-year-old daughter, a successful business. But then they find out their daughter has a terminal illness. The news wrecks them, but they’re not about to give up yet. Then Jonathan passes away too, in an accident, and Victoria is left alone to care for her baby girl. Shaken to the core over what happened to her husband, and worried about her daughter, Victoria has to take measures into her own hands if she wants to save Emily. And those measures might be rather drastic.
I don’t want to spoil things by telling you more about the situation Victoria finds herself in, but I can tell you that it’s quite a dilemma, as the title suggests. The book was a rollercoaster of suspense, with a relentless, fast pace. I couldn’t put it down. The characters are lively and realistic, in particular Victoria. The writing is sublime, and keeps you engrossed in the story. An excellent book, recommended to all thriller fans.
Wow! I have just finished this this fantastic book which was not at all what I was expecting. It was a really unexpected shocking thriller that was right up my street! I am so glad that I took a chance on this as I had been worried about the storyline involving a child with a terminal illness due to being quite an emotional reader when it comes to children! Jonathan and Victoria have given up their vets practice in Manchester and moved to Cumbria to help Jonathan's dad Frank on his pig farm. Their 5 year old daughter Emily starts showing signs of tiredness and slurring her words so they take her to the doctors where a diagnosis reveals devastating news. How far will her family go to help her? How far is too far for a parent to save their child? This was a very dark thriller that was full of twists and turns. One minute you thought you knew where it was going then it would turn around and go in a totally different direction! It was really shocking and a bit gory at times and was so much better than I had been expecting. I am certainly going to be looking out for other books by this author as I enjoyed her style of writing. I received a copy of this book via netgalley in return for an unbiased review.
Netta Newbound’s debut novel An Impossible Dilemma is a rollercoaster ride through uncomfortable suspense, shock, squeamish horror, empathy, more shock, and nail-biting thrills until the slam-dunk finale. Set on a quaint English farm, the very normality of the characters’ every-day lives make this novel so unsettling, yet very readable. The book delves into a parent’s worst nightmare—what lengths would you go to in order to save your beloved child?
Told through the eyes of the gutsy mother, Victoria, we go through the gamut of emotions as she comes to grip not only with her daughter’s illness, but also the untimely death of her husband. I really enjoyed this book, and I stayed up late finishing it because I just couldn’t stop turning the virtual pages. My only complaint was I felt the ending was a little rushed, but I can’t wait to have another late night reading Ms. Newbound’s next book.
I received a copy of An Impossible Dilemma in exchange for an honest review.
This book was not at all what I expected! I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It was about Victoria and her husband John and their 5 year old daughter Emily, who seemed to be living a charmed life until Emily was diagnosed with a fatal illness. Things go downhill rapidly from there! Thought it would be a sad, thought provoking book about families and heartbreaking choices that have to be made, similar to Jodi Picoult and My Sister's Keeper, but omg it was a roller coaster ride of horror! How many horrific things could happen to the one person I wondered about half way in? Then we find out that the tragic things that had happened to the main character, led her the to actions that later ensued. It is so hard to review without wanting to discuss it properly! It was a brilliant read, I loved it, and some scenes are absolutely gruesome. The pigs and the foot, what can I say! Some people disliked the ending, but I thought it was an appropriate one and the only one there could really be. Will definetely read more by this author.
The classic dilemma of how far would you go for your child. I was gripped by the dilemma facing the mother in this story. She had heart and guts to face the situations she does, and the story kept me enthralled as I read on wanting to know how this could be happening, how on earth she would deal with it, what the outcomes were going to be. The contrasts of characters, and their actions, and the intimate family and village like setting makes for an eye-opening read (its rather explicit at times and that adds to the reality of it for me). I was fascinated to see how it would end.
I picked the book because I got it as a free download on Amazon. And I was surprised how good it was! It gripped me right from the first chapter and I couldn't put it down.Being a mother myself I can totally relate to what Victoria is going through after what happened in her past and how she must feel with all the devastating events happening around her.Its a bit of a horror story - be warned, and I could feel Victoria's emotions as the book developed.I'd read of this author's book. And will.
Loved it.Love the gutsy mom in this book. What she has to go through!Made me think if it was my kid what would I do.Could I do what she does?I dont know. Its scary and awful what happens to her.Don't want to say and spoil it for a reader but some bad stuff happens to her and she has to recover from that and face her future.Good story.
I was given this from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review. All I can say is WOW! Really gripping read. There are some very uncomfortable scenes and the story really makes you wonder what you would do if you were faced by this impossible dilemma. The last chapter came as a surprise- saying no more! Definitely a five star book.
This is one of the best books I've read in awhile. I was telling my grown daughter about it today and she said, "that book would make a great movie"! And indeed it would! But until the movie is made buy this book and enjoy it's amazing storyline, full characters and unusual ending!!!
The author certainly hit this one out of the park. I was so drawn into this story from the first page and every page after. Twist and turns that I never saw coming. I can't find anything bad to say. I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great thriller.
A family going through do much.. a mother's love and the lengths she will go. Love how this book plays out the story line as well as it does. A book you don't want to miss out on this year! It will keep you glued just to find out what all happens!
