The series was not a bad story overall, for the most part I enjoyed the story. The only problem is that it was not well thought out, to me there were a lot of holes in the story and a number of things that did not track as you moved through the story. Events that were created in order to set up events that came later but without the needed foundation to explain why things were happening. Also there were times when things seemed to appear that were not available earlier in the story which made you wonder how they got there. If you are just looking for an easy read without having to think about it much this a good read. If you tend to analyze the story and what is happening the holes in the story may make this a harder read. Fortunately the books a small so the time investment is not that much. If you are listening to the audio books the first one is really bad which makes getting through the first book just that much harder...

I was given a review copy of this story and it was an enjoyable read.

Between magic and battles, this fantasy adventure sweeps along at a frantic pace throwing characters into their fates as if into a raging sea...but who survives?

A fight for power, Royce seeks the light, while Altfor - doesn't. The plot of this tale is rooted in good v evil and the choices that are made, though some argue that it's fate.

I did enjoy this final book in the series, which had its twists and surprises, and I particularly liked the magical elements.

Some great descriptions, good character development and sense of place.

Recommended.

An epic battle for their future!

Royce and his friends are following the path he has seen in the Mirror of Wisdom. Under the influence of her rings magic, Olivia is traveling to the castle to find Genevieve and end her rivalry for Royce’s affections. Meanwhile, back in the castle, Genevieve must free Garet before he is tortured to death even as Altfor seeks to gain power and the king’s favor as they plot their battle plan to defeat Royce with the help of the Angarthim priests.

This is the last book in the series, culminating in the final battle between the forces of Royce and the king - good and evil. Morgan Rice has delivered an exciting finale! I finished it in one day.

A swashbuckling tale of battle and love, losses and triumph. Chalk up another good read for Morgan Rice. Early on this series felt like a condensed version of the Sorcerer's Ring. But in the end I think there was enough difference that this can only be considered its own entity. Lots of action plenty of magic great characters amidst a great world. All the things that we have come to expect from the author. This is a truly well written series. Please take the time to enjoy all the nuances that are included.
I was given a copy of the book for an honest review. This fact in no way has influenced this review.

Thoughtful

This is a series to ponder over the nature of power and the relationship between religious belief and government. Told in a medieval setting, the story tells of tradition and change.

I got to know the characters and see myself in each one. Ms. Rice built a world and told an amazing story that left me better than when I picked it up.

A Hit

Another good series by Ms. Rice. Great characters. I found one character that seemed flat, or one demensional. Won't reveal whom as it would be a spoiler alert. I'm spite of that, well written, well enjoyed

I'm done.

Fairly decent read. The hero became kinda stupid towards the end though. Three are some inconsistencies with his powers throughout the story also.....

Good ending

A lot of violence and death to achieve peace and the rightful king. I enjoyed this series. Looking forward to the next series..
