Haven Falls #1

Untouchable

Rate this book
It’s official… I’m the biggest loser in Haven Falls… FML! Things couldn’t possibly get worse from here. Everyone leaves me. My mom, my friends… Kaylah. It’s like the curse of Henley Bronx. Forever alone, and that’s no exaggeration. I’m all I’ve got in this world. Just me, myself, and I… and my goldfish, Frog. Who would have thought that throwing a bowl of spaghetti Bolognese all over the school bad boy would change it all? I sure as hell didn’t. If anything, I was expecting a very different outcome. Noah Cage. What can I say? He’s the pack leader. He stormed in, tattooed up with muscles for days, desperate to prove he’s not like the rest. He saved me while sweeping me right off my feet, but really… I think I saved him too. He wormed his way in and brought love, happiness, and friendship with him and now the thought of losing him tears me apart, but if my track record is anything to go by, he’ll leave me, just like everyone else. It’s inevitable. I’d give anything for Noah Cage to prove me wrong. Will the Henley Bronx curse return once again to take away my only happiness or do I finally have what it takes to turn this bad boy my way? The Haven Falls Series is a Young Adult / New Adult Romance filled with LOL moments, teenage angst, and of course, all the swoon-worthy moments I know you’re all dying for. This series is recommended for mature readers due to cursing and sexual content. If this offends you, then steer clear of this bad boy romance! For everyone else, dive in and have fun!

This just wasn't for me, it was too immature. I won't be reading the rest of this series.

This is the first book in a new series about the school that we heard so much of in the Broken Hill series, the school on the wrong side of the tracks. Haley was left behind when her best friend, Kahyla, left Haven Falls. Being alone for your last year of school stinks, but Henley can take if herself. She is alone until the school bad boy notices her and decides he wants her in his small circle of friends, because she's not like the other girls. I loved the chemistry between Noah and Henley. This was a book I figured I'd start then put aside for a few hours to get some other things done... Well once I started reading I couldn't put it down until I was done and my chores would just have to wait.

Untouchable starts off very interesting. It was really good the first half, but then it took a really crappy turn. I was beyond frustrated with the hero and the choices he makes. I mean, I know he was in high school, but surly he's smarter than that. May be a small spoiler: He didn't even ask if it was his, he just trusted the girl, what kind of dumb ass does that?

Other than that, I liked it, however, I don't want to keep reading the series, it seems more and more angst drama happens, and that's just annoying.

Ugh okay. Where to start. So, for anyone who has stumbled along this series. I just want to say that I've read very book in this series. I decided to give a review on the first book in hopes to encourage other people to read it aswell.
Let me tell you, these books are the easiest books you'll ever read. There easy to follow the plot lines are simple, yet effective and it'll have you hooked. All the way through this series I literally laughed my ass off. The humour in these books are honestly like nothing I've read befor. They had me in tears. Don't be fooled though, as the books progress they do get a bit more serious.
I loved every minute of these books, and I didn't want it to end. So I we t and read them again.
Anyway, happy reading people and enjoy.❤❤❤

not as good as the original series, Broken Hill High, but i still extremely enjoyed it very much. You get to see Kayla and Jackson even my BABY BABE JESSE!! They mention Elle and Nate, and she talked bad about MY Nate but it is fine....
I kept forgetting what happens in the broken hill high series since it has been awhile so i keep looking things up. I totally forgot that Noah was in that series but once they said a white Camero i immediately remembered him.
I can't wait to continue!!

This book is proof that not everyone can be a true writer. It started off a little decent, but got really silly. The writing was immature and is something I would expect from a 13 year old writer on Wattpad, not an actual published book from an adult. High school isn’t anything like how this book was written. The characters lacked real depth and weren’t smart at all.

Please save yourself from reading this book, it really isn’t worth it.

Recap: our poor lonely, and abandoned heroine is down and out, but wait! She stood up to the most popular boy in school. NOW, he and his private, exclusive crowd have adopted her. Man, that was quick... right? I can suspend reality and immerse myself into the unbelievable, but this was beyond my ability.

This is a must read if you like high school romance

I loved this book so much and would definitely recommend it. The female lead is amazing and I adored her . She's feisty , sexy and you really want her to be happy . The male lead is sexy , dark and dominating. I just loved him .

Writing was immature with a lack of depth to story line. I got a few chapters in an the MC went from throwing food on a guy, to him fixing her car and telling her she should be friends with his sister? Like another reviewer mentioned, it sounds like it was written by a 13 year old because I don’t know very many woman who say they have “great boobies”

I totally anticipated that this book would exceed my expectations and it did! High school drama at its best yet still with lingering mysteries to play out in future books. I loved Broken Hill High series and grew to like both Jackson and Kaylah. This book isn't about them but they are mentioned quite a bit and it really gave insight to their actions and what happened to Henley after they left. I loved the drama. I loved the budding attraction between Noah and Henley. I loved Tully and Henley. There is so much to love about this book with its wonderfully written story and how the author is able to write a believable, relatable yet sensitive and sympathetic story that can draw the reader in to the story and make you feel like you're a part of it. The lingering questions of where they disappear is intriguing. The fallout of her being with Noah and how it might affect Jackson's new friends from BHH and affect characters I've grown to love, is intriguing. I have to believe that they'll make an appearance again. Kaylah and Jackson aren't my favorite characters since this insight of their behavior towards Henley was eye-opening and disappointing. Henley deserved better. The constant comments about her reputation were puzzling as well. Who made the comments and is there truth behind the rumors? Friends should have her back. Kaylah knew her brother's reputation as well so I was confused and surprised that this wasn't handled better. After reading this book and after reading the previous series this is spun off of, Elle deserves better. I'm loving this series as much as I loved BHH. I'm fully engaged and can't wait for the next book. Recommend

Untouchable is a nice read. Henley Bronx is a senior in high school but she's been through a lot in her young life. Her father is a truck driver and he's gone for a while. Her mother left her and her dad years ago. She had a best friend Kaylah and they were inseparable. Henley was in love with Kaylah's brother Jackson but she kept that a secret. But something happened and both Jackson and Kaylah left her all alone. Now the two biggest Mean girls set their sights on Henley.

Noah Cage is the school's biggest bad boy and he's got a lot of power at the school. He's tight with River and his twin sister Tully and it's a really tight knit group. Henley and the two Mean girls are fighting in the cafeteria and some food was thrown on Noah.

I think Henley, Noah and Tully are really great characters. Henley has major abandonment issues and believes she's cursed. She's incredibly strong, independent, and not like most girls. But she's got major trust issues. Noah has been in an on and off relationship with Monica who is one of the mean girls. Finally he's done with her and Henley catches his attention. He's an amazing guy who protects those he loves.

Looking forward to reading more in this world.

Low-key kinda boring. Like realistically the plot and book could have been compacted down a lot more and gotten rid of a lot of the fluff in between the chapters. It also took place over such a short period of time that the story felt rushed. Like I’m sorry am I supposed to believe they fell in love or whatever in the space of a week?? Come off. So anyways I probably won’t be re-reading this book but I am gonna continue to read the rest of the series. Will I regret this decision. Quite possibly. But will I still do it. Unfortunately yes.

Also this is the first book I’m reading by the author but I take it that Jackson has his own series as the way that whole group is spoken about makes me feel like I’m missing something. So I might look into that and see if those books hold my attention. That is if they even exist. If they don’t then thats massively confusing from the author.

I love Broken Hill, this not so much. Noah is worth reading this for if you are hard up for this HS type drama. Tully is good too but Henley, while has the potential to have redeeming qualities it's hard to empathize with her at times. Overall she comes across as immature. And the Jackson thing was sloppy throughout.

Wished I liked it enough to read more installments in the series, but this was so half baked that I cant even give bookn2 entry.

Too quick, too superficial, too ridiculous

Too quick, too superficial, too ridiculous. I think that says it all. It went from zero to one hundred in under a second and the whole revenge thing at the end just seemed like overkill. Granted, they are on high school, so maybe that was fitting. Also the randomness of the old friends popping back in at the exact right moments and everything being perfect again with them reeked of unnecessary filler.

I didn’t love this book. Henley was not very likable and was a breaking into someone’s locker in the first chapter. And that caused the fight that leads to the entire store line.

So since I have been binging on High School Bully romances for the last few weeks, Author Sheridan Anne's Broken Hill's series has been popping up on my recommended books lists. And I have been keeping my eye on it but haven't gotten the chance to read it yet, but it is sitting in my TBR pile. But I did happen to notice that Mrs. Anne was starting a brand new series and I wanted to jump on the chance to read it. Now that Author Sheridan Anne is a new to me, author, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. Let's just say that I couldn't put this book down, that's how well this author gripped me with this story and pulled me into the Haven Falls world. Also, I'm definitely going to go back and read the Broken Hill's series.

Oh Henley.... Henley Bronx is a young woman who wants you to believe that she's broken and all alone. Her mother left her and her father when she was just a pre-teen, and probably when she needed her mother the most. Her father who tries to do the best with what they've been dealt and hasn't left, but the man isn't really there, he's a big truck driver so he's gone most the time and I guess if you want to look at it logically leaves Henley on her own. Than you have her former best friend and her brother who ghosted Henley after a misunderstanding. I really enjoyed Henley's attitude, when she could have appeared weak with everything that's happened, she actually has a backbone and takes no sh*t attitude.

Gah Noah.... At first I wasn't sure about Noah. I questioned his motives about friending Henley fairly quickly. Than I found him to be quiet loveable. Than I found myself wanting to jump in the book and smack him myself, just because he wanted to be honorable. And even though Noah wanted to protray himself as the resident bad boy of Haven Falls, the dude was a big ole softie.

As I said at the start of this review this was the first time I read anything by Author Sheridan Anne. I did really enjoy it and as also mentioned this book pulled me in right from the start and now I'm going to have to go back and read the Broken Hill's series. I will say this though I can't wait for more from this Haven Falls series and the second book can't come soon enough!!!

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

**I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion**

I liked this a lot more than I should have. I think it's because the characters were so charming? I don't really know why I liked this as much as a I did because this author used a lot of my writing pet peeves over and over (So much so, that I started highlighting):

-'I can't but....' - I hate this usage and this author uses it A LOT. To me, it is a lazy writing technique that doesn't even need to be used...ever. Take these two examples from this book:
Blobs of ink and glitter drop off Monica and I can't help but laugh, knowing that shit is going to stain her skin for days.
Why does the 'I can't help but..' even exist in this sentence? Why not just leave it at '...Monica and I roar with laughter, knowing that that shit is going to stain her skin for days'??
I can't help but look back and notice a slight flicker of jealousy pulsing through her...
Again, why the 'I can't help but...'?? Just take it out! 'I glance back and notice..' works so much better!

-Now, I may be ancient in the ~teenage~ mind, but WHY are these children throwing out the words 'whore' and 'skank' every two sentences to describe one another? Is this really a thing? WHY? It grated on my nerves so much while reading. Again, it seemed like a lazy writing technique because it was used SO much. I am sure that kids can get a little more creative that calling someone a 'whorehouse' every two seconds?
-The analogies for 'vagina' in this were laughable. 'Lady taco'? 'Promised land'? I can't.
-This line made me lol:
Noah Cage walks in looking as though he's so damn hot, the ground must melt where he walks.
LMAO. It's like the cheesiest of cheesy pickup lines. Thank you for the laugh!
-There were a few typos (but not enough to ruin the book-just needs another round of editing I think).

THAT SAID: I did actually enjoy the story and the characters. It was a cute, fast read and I fully intend to read the rest of the series (hoping that the above doesn't annoy me too much).

Untouchable Haven Falls is book one in the Haven falls series. This story is short, mixed paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was left eager to dive into book two. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable.
Henley Bronx has lost nearly everyone she loves. Her mother, her best friend and her crush. She has her father but he’s always away because of his trucker job. School life is hell for Henley, she has no friends, everyone hates her and the bullies make the disdain known. Fed up with being verbally beaten down, Henley gets into a fight and attracts the attention of the school bad boy.
As Henley and Noah become friends their attraction to one another grows. Henley has found some new friends but she has the fear of losing them like she has everyone else.
The chemistry between Noah and Henley was clear to see and I liked the build up to them getting together and them as a couple. I liked the friendship Henley built with Tully. I just wish that we got Noah’s point of view. Hopefully in the next book we might get it.
I really disliked Monica! I also hated every person that made Henley’s life hell. I was glad that Henley got her own back.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

High school kids acting like high school kids

The main character sounded so immature throughout the book. It's a miracle I was able to finish this. Also, I hated how she kept clinging to Noah when he was doing the push-pull with her. She should've just found her backbone, steeled herself, and moved the fuck on.

At first I liked Noah but it was confusing how he was supposed to be this scary, tattooed king of the high scool/pack leader shit but he was very friendly from the start.

This book also ruined Broken Hill for me so I'm definitely not going to be reading that because Kayhla and Jackson were not painted in a good light in this book. Jackson was an asshole who took advantage of someone he's saying he sees as too much of a sister (LOL) and Kayhla is a stupid best friend who made assumptions and didn't even try to hear Henley out.

Honestly, at this point, I feel like the Bradford Bastard series was a fluke.

What I did like about this book is how refreshing it is to read about high school drama instead of dark shit after just finishing a series that was pretty fucked up dark.

Henley and Noah 🥰

Even though I’ve read this series before and I’m patiently waiting for book 3 from our beloved Sheridan Anne who BTW is amazing. I had to start with this bad boy once again.

High school ☑️
Bullies ☑️
Smoking hot yummy tattoo 18 year old Alpha ☑️
FMC who is also smoking hot ☑️
Best friend ☑️
Fast cars ☑️

There’s so much in this series and you be silly not to join in on all the fun.

When Henley attends her senior year friendless.
She doesn’t expect to come across the all school bad boy Noah Cage.
Henley thinks she’s a nobody, she’s been bullied most her life with her ex- best friend
Only this time when she is back at school there’s no best friend, just Henley.
Nobody there to have her back or protect her.
Noah is a breath of fresh air and brings Henley into his life with his little pack he has with his best friend and twin sister.
Henley starts to feel accepted and wanted again only nothing stays good for long. She’s got a lot of jealousy vindictive bitches to fight off and some guys who wanna come between her and Noah.
There’s a journey for Henley and Noah is there for the ride ☺️

Loved this book and I imagine it’s going to be one hell of a series!
Henley’s life is in the dumps-everyone leaves her... her mom, the other two people who felt like family to her- Kayleigh and Jackson, and her dad who’s a truck driver leaves her alone all the time. She has no real friends and pretty much hates life. Getting through her senior year takes an interesting turn when the school bad boy, Noah Cage, takes an interest in her. She does everything she can to push him and his twin sister away, but they don’t take the hint. Over time they develop a friendship
And bond and her and Noah even start to develop feeling for each other. Just when things seem great a wrench is thrown in the plans that ruin everything Henley and Noah we’re attempting to develop.

It was great to see some mention and cameos of characters from the Broken Hills series. I look forward to seeing what’s next for not only Noah and Henley but also Rivers and Tully.

Lots of teenage angst and some pretty hot chemistry between these characters! Love the series so far!
