Julian killed his best friend to protect a buried secret. A secret Astra and Crispin, exiles from the werewolf dynasties, want for themselves. If they succeed, they'll set the world on fire. Together, Rob and Julian must race to stop them, while Julian decides how much it's safe for Rob to know.

Fiona still can't light a candle with magic. But she's caught the interest of a wizard, a dread being from across the gulf between worlds. She must try to stop those around her from being hurt as she fights to survive the wizard's tests.

Hawthorne House is a great UF series with relatable characters, increasing stakes, and refreshing take on vampires and shape-shifters mythos. Vampires aren't sexy, not in their true form, where they resemble hideous monsters on strangely bent legs who relish in killing anything that moves.

In Immortal Make, the first arc of the Hawthorne House story comes to a satisfying conclusion. Each of the characters made a choice that would influence his/her future. We met Mr. Hawthorne and Cunningham made big reveals concerning both the world and characters, especially Fiona and the monster in her shadow.

I definitely want more and can't wait to see where the story goes next.

The series is picking up and getting more interesting.

The lack of explanation and tethering to a cohesive world mythology that made it difficult to invest in the first two books is definitely remedied in this instalment. Also the character building/development has improved, although some of the characters still remain a bit shallow. For example, Fiona’s development is interesting, but feels slightly undeserved. Still the book was an enjoyable romp. I would recommend if you are a fan of urban fantasy that leans more towards horror and comedy than romance.

A joy to read

This series has got serious momentum. Another good storyline with intertwining stories. The world building moves forwards. Just a good read.
