This novella... was honestly one I really didn't enjoy. I didn't care for the main characters, their behaviour for the majority of the plotline was shocking. The scenes of cheating I hated reading about, it was fast pacing due to the amount of dialogue used. Sadly readers, this definitely won't be one for re-reading.

There was just to much he's sleeping with this one and she wants and does sleep with that one....going on! It was all very close too, two best friends cheat on his girlfriend then one of the best friends starts sleeping with the girlfriends brother. Quite honestly I really hoped none of them got a happy ending!

No, just no.
They heroine bitched about Tyler cheating on ALL of his past relationships but the proceeds to be the other woman in his current one. Um, okay? Then once he is interested, she's like 'nope, too late'. I hated this book, well I hated the main characters in this book. Also who falls pregnant on purpose to keep a man? Honey, that's so fucked up on so many levels. Ugh.

This book has cheating and I loved it. I'm starting by saying this because I read some maddening reviews saying: "I like this story, but there was cheating, so I'm giving it one star because I don't approve of cheating."

For me this is like saying you give a mystery you enjoyed one star because there was a murder and you don't approve murders. Hello? Reading and enjoying a story about cheating has nothing to do with your moral standing on the subject... it's either a good story or not. Sorry for the rant, it was just to say that if cheating is a pet peeve of yours skip this book, but don't give it one star because of it.
That said... The confusion and turmoil that came from a love triangle with "the best friend" were so real... Already a love triangle is complicated, but when you add a friendship of decades in the mix things get explosive... I loved how we got all the prospectives in the book with different POVs.
Yeah, Tyler was immature and too indecisive. And Rose made her fair share of mistakes, but by the end of the book I couldn't help liking her and the growth she experienced...
Also the story totally didn't end how you'd expect.
And now to the best part: Ethan! Yet another dishy book boyfriend.... He was dashing, hot, sexy, and just the right amount of alpha!

DNF. Didn't like it. No explicit sex. Just: 'He took his shirt off ... I opened my eyes the next morning.' The writing style was okay, but it disappointed me a lot.

Honestly how in the world can this be labeled as "clean and wholesome" romance on Amazon? There are no sex scenes but everyone is sleeping with everyone. What is clean and wholesome about that?? I kept reading hoping there would be something redeeming but no. Not at all. I didn't like the ending at all. Super disappointed.

2.75 stars? 3 stars? 2.834 stars?? Conflicted.
Hated most of the characters. Hated the fact that cheating was just so easy and normal, and that marriage was seen as 'the right thing to do' and not something you do out of love.
BUT, it was a quick read, a pleasantly nice read, and drew me in with all the drama and ups and downs. Nothing Amazing, nothing boring.

I really enjoyed this free short novel. I liked how it all played out and that the story was told from all the different characters points of view. I was sure I knew the ending, but I didn't which was great!
I read this book in one sitting, I was so engrossed I couldn't tear my eyes from the pages.
There were bits were I smiled, cried a bit, and got very mad or anxious. It was so involving, I really lost myself in the story... And oh gosh, I fell in love as Rose did

Background
I like rom-com. I like love stories. I like them clean. But every 'romantic book series' that I have started in past three months, and there are million, mind you. They all have the same basic problem. Romance means getting naked as soon as opportunity strikes.
Anyway, this time, for reasons I can't explain; I got two books of the series on same day. And this is a combined review for both - sort of.
Review
Plot is about a few characters.
Rose and Tyler are childhood friends. Tyler has a girlfriend Georigina (Gigi). Gigi's brother is Ethan. Ethan is going out with Gigi's friend Alice. Alice's roommate is Madison.... I am dozing off... but wait, let me finish this review.
Pros:
Cute, fun, romantic - for all of two chapters.
Cons - plot:
1. What the hell is wrong with Rose? Her stomach flips when she sees Tyler and when she sees Ethan (or kisses them). And the girl has no self-control. NONE WHATSOEVER.
2. Rose's problem is that she thinks Tyler is a playboy and cannot commit. This is when she, herself is having feelings about both. Not just feelings, she is acting on those too.
3. The BFF angle was overdone. I had thought this would be friends falling in love - cuz that is cliche but cute. But no, this was something else.
Cons - writing style:
The narration is third person omniscient. I don't understand the need to name the chapters and sections with characters' names. I mean, readers would understand that there is a context switch between plots. Very distracting

Unfortunately I was very disappointed the book was too fast paced and rose and Tyler didn’t end up together which was very upsetting I wish that she had written more pages and that the two best friends had ended up what confused me was when she wrote to be continued but there is no more book about the two characters which was very disappointing.

This is the first in a series that follows a group of college aged kids as they navigate adulthood, school and love. I actually read the second book, Friend Zone first but reading them out of order wasn’t an issue for me, but naturally if you’re new to the series I would recommend starting with book one.
This is told via multiple perspectives but you mainly hear from Rose and Tyler with a handful of chapters from Georgiana and her brother Ethan. Rose and Tyler swear they’re “just friends” but the only people who truly believe that are them, it’s so blatantly obvious they have feelings for each other to everyone else, they’re in total denial. Rose is single but Tyler has a girlfriend named Georgiana and she’s bound and determined to keep her man away from Rose. There is a whole lotta drama going on between these three and then when Rose meets Ethan things get even more sticky.
I love Isley’s style, she writes the type of books that you can get lost in and finish in a few hours, there’s nothing complicated, well besides the characters relationships haha! They’re not too heavy and the drama makes for some great entertainment which is just what I need from time to time. Heidi Baker was a really great narrator, she had a super warm voice that was engaging and made me feel like I was listening to a friend talk to me about her crazy group of friends. Cute, uncomplicated and flirty would be the perfect description!

Have you ever been in the position of wanting someone you can’t have? Many of you I’m sure. Have you ever tried your luck with someone despite worrying that it was going to end in tears? Nodding your head again I bet. With the previous question in mind, have you taken things even further after brushing those niggling feelings aside just….because? Well, Rose would be nodding her head to all three of those questions. Rose and Tyler have been best friends since they were young. Boyfriends and girlfriends have come and gone, or in Tyler case, girlfriend + girlfriends best friend + girlfriends neighbours sisters mother in law…..catch my drift?
Rose and Tyler get jealous every time the other one is in a relationship, but why? Is it because they want what they can’t have?
As soon as I started reading this book, I had a feeling I knew where it was going in terms of the storyline. Usually that would have bothered me, but seeing as I had just finished a very deep and dark book, I wanted something more fun to read. This certainly ticked the box for fun. Part of me felt sorry for Rose, but then part of me thought ‘oh come on!’. She had an inkling what Tyler was going to be like in the future based on his past, yet she still dipped her toes! I did take an instant dislike to Tyler. I’m being brutally honest. Of course it isn’t because of Camilla’s writing, it’s because she has written a character in such a descriptive way that I felt like I knew him. Fortunately I don’t know him, but unfortunately I do know guys like him. ‘I’m still with my girlfriend, but I’m free tonight, I’ll break up with her later if that is what you want.’. Those types of guys. Tyler’s personality did make for excellent reading because boy did I laugh when Rose started talking to his nemesis.
Let’s Be Just Friends is a fun and romantic read, one that you can sink your teeth into without thinking too much because the author has everything there. Does that make sense? Don’t get me wrong, it had several jaw dropping moments as well as ‘oh no he didn’t!!!’ (said like the lady in the shoe advert on TV…) moments, but I enjoyed the fact that I didn’t have to think too much. It flowed nicely, it was an enjoyable read, and most importantly, I giggled. My favourite moment of the book was when the storyline turned to ‘independence’. See how I can write my favourite part without giving a spoiler! I found that part to emphasise power and confidence. I’m sure many females/males could even take a leaf out of the character’s book for that bold move.
I do have one little niggle with the book though. I didn’t like the way it finished at 85% on the Kindle, I found that to be a bit abrupt, especially in terms of percentage. That isn’t a negative against the contents of the book in any way.
If you’re after a light-hearted, romantic novel with hilarious parts; one that you can lay in bed with and just sink into the book, then this one is for you. An enjoyable read for definite. I already have another of Camilla’s books waiting to be read too, cannot wait!

Uh... Let's rewind a bit.
The beginning of this book was just pretty boring and utter rubbish. But, in the following chapters, things got way interesting than I expected.
(Please bear with my stupid spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. I just woke up but I wanna finish this review so... Let's do this thing!)
~Plot~
Rose and Tyler, two really close friends, have major crushes on each other, but don't reveal it. While Tyler is already in a relationship with stuck up Georgina, Rose finds it hard each day not to get royally pissed with her. Rose comes up with a plan- a tinnie winnie one. Rose resides at Tyler's apartment as she wants to earn her own income in order to buy her a flat of her own. Rose dresses in a way, that exposes her skin and Tyler on the other hand, is quite tempted. Oh and he does make a move on her. A. Huge. One. That practically increases the tension between them. Things are akward for a while. Until... It's Georgina's birthday.
At the party, Rose meets Georgina's brother, Ethan. Rose and Ethan get along quite well, which only makes Tyler's anger and jealousy worse.
Out of the blue, Georgina asks for everyone's attention as she's about to announce something super important. The news slaps Rose in the face. And washes guilt over Tyler. Tyler and Georgina are going to spend six months in France. Rose was crestfallen but hid it perfectly. Ethan, on the other hand, was extremely ecstatic.
Six months go by and Rose and Ethan are official.
All of a sudden, Tyler goes over to Rose's and learns that Rose and Ethan are together. A dispute occurs between the two and they're both really mad at each other.
Days roll by and Georgina's sister is getting married. Ethan and Tyler won't even face each other. The wedding was a success.
A few days later, Tyler calls Rose and asks her to meet him. He takes to the giant wheel- their usual spot where they discuss really important stuff. He looks like a zombie. And rose is eager to find out why.
Georgina. Is. Expecting!
The news whooshed the air out of Rose. Well, that explains why Tyler's so down. Georgina claims to have nothing to do with this, but it is entirely her fault. Tyler wants to be a good dad. He's against abortion as he is adopted. He pops the question and Georgina couldn't be happier.

Let's Be Just Friends just wasn't my cup of tea. I did not like the plot and I really disliked every single one of the characters.
The story is very short and within it you have betrayal, dishonesty, jealousy, a lack of trust, a pregnancy and 2 weddings. The writing felt very compacted and crammed, as if it wanted to be all out in the open and rushed.
The story was essentially about two roommates/best friends who sleep with each other (despite the guy having a girlfriend already), and at various times thinking they are so in love with each other, but really they are not and are just feeling really confused. Let's say, they're having a 'mid-life crisis' but in their late teens/early twenties. In the meantime, the main girl falls in love with the brother of the girlfriend who is being cheated on. So you see it gets very messy and a tad ridiculous.
My biggest issue, is that the main guy cheats on his girlfriend multiple times over a long period of time, continuously says nasty things about her behind her back, and yet neither character breaks up with each other?? This story is very bad at promoting healthy relationships, or even how people can save/help themselves when facing an unhealthy relationship. It portrays that it is okay to cheat and manipulate people in relationships, because no one experiences consequences for their actions.

I don't often rate books this low, but this has me shaking my head. The characters are ridiculous and the storyline between Tyler and Rose didn't endear me to them any more than their antics did. I can read a cheating book, but this was ridiculous and there was no good reason for it other than Tyler was a selfish bastard.

I know hate is a strong word but I really, really, really hate this book! Firstly, there were no steamy sex scenes. Secondly, Rose seems to be the most selfish character I have come across so far and Tyler the most pathetic.

What? Just what was this?
So let's start with the first and obvious problem; her characters are unlikable, overly dramatic and have no depth.
Rose is annoying an acts like a teenager. She has no backbone and obviously doesn't know what she wants. "Oh I'm so jealous of Tyler's girlfriend... Oh I just slept with Tyler but he's such a cheater, I won't be with him.... Oh Georgiana is so terrible.... Oh Tyler, I miss you so much, you hurt me so much."
It's annoying and frankly all her fault. Instead of bitching about Georgiana, she could have taken the plunge and admit to her feelings. But she likes being the victim. And a passive one at that. She is just as guilty as Tyler is.
Tyler has to be one of the weakest and most pathetic characters I have ever come across. How this whining man could ever be a womanizer is beyond me. He has no backbone, and really apparently only cares about sleeping with women who are at his disposal. Other than that he does NOTHING but in the end he whines when he's being used. It's ridiculous.
Georgiana was too much. Stereotype rich bitch. I know she's suppsed to be annoying and what not but this was still supposed to be a story about adults in law school - not a high school drama...
So let's start with the first and obvious problem; her characters are unlikable, overly dramatic and have no depth.
Rose is annoying an acts like a teenager. She has no backbone and obviously doesn't know what she wants. "Oh I'm so jealous of Tyler's girlfriend... Oh I just slept with Tyler but he's such a cheater, I won't be with him.... Oh Georgiana is so terrible.... Oh Tyler, I miss you so much, you hurt me so much."

I am not a fan of college romance books. Maybe because I'm well passed the college age, or maybe because nothing ever happens in those kind of books apart from too much bitching, too much overcooked romance and flats jokes...
Anyway, this book was actually better than I expected! It's light, there's actually some sort of story and it doesn't get the predictable ending!! Well, not that the ending is totally unpredictable but it's fall flats onto THE obvious one.
I would love to see something else happening in the book, apart from the "who's gonna hook up with who..." type of thing. Would love the characters to have something more than "she was gorgeous", "he was so handsome"....
Overall, three stars deserved!

After Hours I almost did but I skimmed like the last 50ish pages.
But this baby.. AGH.
Right away I hated all the character and how they thought about things and I was like I know I don’t like this so why should I keep spending my very few hours when I’m not studying for finals on it.

Estuvo entrete y ligerito.
Aunque tanto triángulo/cuadrado amoroso me tenía un poco molesta.
Como personaje principal me gustó Rose, Tylar y Georgiana eran más bien despreciables, cada cual se ganó hasta ahora lo que se merecía.
Igual, me gusta el estilo de la autora, muy tranqui, como solo para entretenerse, obvio que tiene algunos problemas a veces en cuanto a los conflictos (tipo libros problemáticos) pero trato de leerlos con criterio y preocupándome de disfrutar principalmente.
supongo que algún día que necesite más lecturas ligeras, leeré más de esta saga.

I downloaded this off my kindle app as a free ebook, and I had very low expectations so I feel quite average about this. It was nothing exceptional in either plot, writing, or characters, but it wasn’t terrible in any way. It was a quick read to pick up lightly, but I found the pacing to be terrible. I will likely read the second book when I feel I read a quick read, but hope there is significant character development and stronger tones in the different voices.

Thank god she chose Ethan because otherwise I would've hurled this book (my phone) across the room and the damage would've been permanent. I'll never support cheating even if it's one of the MMC and FMC. idc i just couldn't get past that for quite some time, just because she's the mc doesn't make that redeemable. this book gets two stars and that's for Ethan and only him. also, i don't think i'll be sticking around for the next books in the series, this brought nothing to the table.

Thank goodness that didn't end in a cliche! I am so happy with who Rose ended up with. I better not have any changes in that department in the next book or I am not going to be happy. I'm a little too happy to see what happens with Rose and Tyler. I really enjoyed the characters most of all. I just don't know what's going to happen with Georgiana. That girl is a wildcard.
