In this story, it talks about a little history. It talks about how Walks Alone tries to survive the Apaches, The people who helped Walks Alone's village and now they are against them. She gets shot, stabbed, punched, and many more brutal actions in her story. There is a lot of drama & sadness and important people in her life have passing away. In this book, it shows that her life is filled with mostly sadness as she can physically barely move. Does she have what it takes to survive the horror she lives in to finally find the happiness she needs? Can she finally marry the person of her dreams? Anyway, the book is for a person who can think in detail about a characters life. This book is recommended for all genders; just because the main character is a girl doesn't mean only girls can read it!

It was a great story, but I hated the ending. This ruined reading for me for a while.

Had to read this in middle school, didn't like it at the time, but the beginning and the end keep coming to mind and I feel the need to reread it. If I recall correctly, it wasn't actually a bad book.
