We all have one of those friends who are crazy and have a whirlwind personality, for Katie, it is her best friend Heather who with her bubbly personality and bright colored hair it's no wonder that when she's around Katie always finds herself in the midst of some sort of trouble and chaos. The book starts off with Heather bursting into Katie's job for an emergency and telling her to quit. It turns out that Heather won the big one on the lottery and is now one heck of a wealthy woman and who better to share her winnings with than her best friend. With the money Heather gives Katie, she can finally start her dream business of event planning and Heather has her first event for Katie to plan. One of Heather's favorite things to read are the books about reverse harems and now she wants one of her very own, set on a private island and she wants Katie to plan it. Months go by and Katie plans the perfect Harem event for Heather, however, when they get to the island things start to go haywire as some of the guys aren't exactly what they said they were and this isn't exactly going the way Heather planned it. Katie, on the other hand, is finding herself with no trying in the middle of her own harem with the lawyer's brother, the chef and the airplane pilot. While Heather is off having her fun, will this trip be a once in a lifetime exploration for Katie as she finds her life just like one of Heather's many romance novels? Lotto Men though was a slower read, had a fun Romantic Comedy aspect to the book and I look forward to seeing what happens next in the adventures of Katie and Heather as the book ended on a cliffhanger with some scary dudes - Military style and guns.
Both women were too childish and immature. The storyline was very silly and the book ends in a cliffhanger but I’m not interested, thank you. I barely got through this one.
This was a surprisingly funny rom-com RH book. It's the first in a series and is super short.
I like the humor and the idea of the main characters best friend doing her own version of the bachelorette reverse harem style after winning the Lotto. Katie is hired to plan all the dates and basically help her friend find her loves on this super private island. I wanted there to be more from this book it was very fast paced and I feel as if the outings could have been expanded on and just really everything in general. But I liked the premise of the book and am interested to see what is in store for our characters next. I like all of Katies love interests and thought they were great!
If you're looking for a quick steamy read... this is a fun one that had me laughing though the whole thing.
This book might be the funniest book I’ve read in my entire life. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard. I love the characters, the tensions, the jokes and puns. Ann Denton has knocked it out of the park with this one, and it’s going to get you in ways you have never expected. I’m in love with her analogies and world building, and don’t even get me started on the guys, because.. HOT. This book is everything you didn’t even know you needed and it’s light, hot and funny just like summer (I’m no good with the analogies, you’ll have to rely on her for those I’m afraid). I cannot WAIT for the next one and I’m probably going to catch myself rereading it more than once while I wait. Because it’s just that kind of book. I honestly can not recommend this book enough, y’all
This one had me in hysterics from start to near finish. Huge cliffhanger and a lot of guys. One devil on your shoulder lotto winner best friend and a slight push over MC. Katie is roped in to gather her best friend a harem through an island game contest sort of thing, whilst accidentally gathering her own. A pathological liar, a kinky pilot and a food obsessed chef.
I like how close Heather and Katie are and what they push each other into doing and the events ranged. From dick jokes to forced nudity this book had everything with a little danger thrown into the mix. I will never look at pineapple or corn the same way again. Loved it. Next one please!
I really enjoyed this book. Can’t say that if I won the lotto I wouldn’t do the same thing as Heather. This book was funny and so sexy. Can’t wait to read the next one.
After all the 'this is so hilarious' reviews I expected to belly laugh, I expected to cry tears of joy-
Instead I feel numb&unhappy I even bothered with this series.
It was going so great&the build up was so nice&then it just turned into this very unrealistic mish mash of crap that I could no longer buy into.
I also didn't like that the "Hispanic" guy is stereotyped as the cocky full of himself dude who we're primed to hate&the "Asian" guy is stereotyped as the closet case softie who we're primed to distrust who we never even really see.
Why add diversity if you're just going to be a dick about it? Just make the blue eyed blond haired circle jerk fantasy you want to&leave us be.
Ironically that would be enough for 2 stars.. but what cemented its 1 star status was the MM.
Like it literally has no place or purpose in this book (or in this genre) but is added anyway for no reason whatsoever.
I see it constantly in reverse harem&I despise it every time I see it.
Feels very sexist that the one genre DEDICATED to a woman centered around men, to her feelings&her desires&her needs would put a man's relationship with another man over the woman's relationship with the man.
Deleting this series from my brain tbh&moving right the **** along.
This was a fun comedic, contemporary RH story. I am usually dissatisfied with the initiation of the harem relationship with most contemporary RH books but that wasn't so with this one. For me, it completely worked with the set up of the story. I really liked the heroine, Katie and related to her in many ways. What I experienced so far with the men I also liked. I especially liked that they were swoon worthy but flawed, each in their own way. I can usually take or leave the intimate scenes since I am much more interested in character and relationship building but some of these scenes were hot. The pacing was perfect and there was just a little bit of a mysterious cliffhanger that made me eager for book 2. Finally, most books that are labeled as rom-com aren't funny in my opinion and seem like the author is trying too hard. This book was actually funny and didn't devolve to slapstick and embarrassingly awkward scenes. I really enjoyed this.
The author did a very good job. Heather is a great friend. My bestie would have come in and quit for me just like Heather did for Katie. I hate parents like Katie's mom, criticizing instead of supporting. The prank on Shane Paul had me cracking up to the point where I was lol.
I think my favorite part in the book was when Heather got the Brazilian wax and the Vietnamese lady who did it told her that she needed hoo-ha surgery to tuck those lips back in. I strongly think that the 153 million could have been better spent but it is there for the owner to enjoy. Therefore, she spends it on how she sees fit. Also, one of the best parts to me is that Matt left to be with Tim.
I was really disappointed with the ending but that was my fault because I didn't read the description to see that there was a cliffhanger. Then to add insult to inquiry Book 2 isn't coming out until August 27, 2019. I can't wait for Book 2.
Overall it was a great story. I would recommend it to everyone.
I admit, my jealous personality was rearing it's ugly head when I started reading this book. I was all 'No! Why does the BFF get all the men?!?!?'. But along came a tennis player, a chef and a pilot who seem to have set their eyes on the FMC and vice versa. Pfew... Taking a relieved breath and sheathing my claws I continued to read and boy, did I like it! Ann Denton really knows how to write the laugh out loud kind of books, reaching Raven Kennedy-levels, who quite frankly is da bomb when it comes to funny and quirky heroines. I can't wait for the release of book 2 in this series!
This was a fun, light romcom that you end up needing to read after a heavy series. Katie is a pushover and when her BFF wins the lottery and decides she wants her own personal RH, Katie is the woman in charge to make it happen almost like the show “The Bachelor!” Katie ends up finding her own RH and is literally just in the midst when the book ends on a cliffhanger. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one. *Overall 3.5/5 *Slowwwwburn *Katie only- first person POV *Heat? 2/5 (it was only just getting good when the book ended) *HEA? No, cliff hangar
-Liked the characters -I think there was good buildup to the main event. I personally related to the desperateness Katie feels from the start to the time she gets with guys. -I really liked the first r scene but the rest kinda left me wanting more but I still enjoyed it enough to say it was alright. -Plot wise I'd say it's entertaining and I was genuinely curious about what was happening next and the pacing was good but I do feel like there could have been some more substance in between her hosting the events and getting distracted by the guys. But just as is, I'd say I had fun reading this. Perfect summer read.
I so enjoyed this book! It was quick, hilarious, easy to read, funny, witty, HOT and completely different to a lot of ideas going around atm.
I chuckled out loud so much in this funny twist of RH. I love that this is the dream for so many people as well and now it's out on paper in such a great book.
There wasn't a grammatical error in sight. The character building was great, we got to see a bit of all the characters and how they slowly open up. Freaking love Alec 🤤
This book never lost my intrest. The MC is so great and had an amazing transition from meek to badass. The MEN are hot and sexy, and really seem to know their way around a lady. Heather provides great comic relief, and her bachelorette style harem (what's left anyway) does not disappoint. Cannot wait for book 2 in August. My copy has already been ordered!
It's worth more than 5 Stars! I am ready to scream from the rooftop over this book, if RH and romcoms are your jam you will be screaming too.... A must read! This author is brand new to me and I DEVOURED this book. I want to be bff's with these chicks! It's hysterical and unpredictable and so much fun to read. Like mad kudos to this author for breaking me out of my funky mood, an early new favorite person!
Heather wins the lotto and pulls her best friend, Katie, into a laugh filled scheme to build her own harem. Katie, the level headed one of the duo, didn't realize building her crazy friend harem would result in an adventure of the same sort of her own! This book actually made me laugh so hard I cried in parts. With a cliffhanger, and a bit of intrigue, this is a great read. I can't wait for book 2!
A cute light read. The girls are funny. The guys.... there are too many on heather’s end to really get a feel for them but since that isn’t the main RH in the series, I can let it slide... for now. Katie’s men are little more fleshed out but I still haven’t really connected with any of them so idk.... the ending has me curious and ready to see where that goes (:
That was fantastic!! I just love it when I casually start a new book and it ends up becoming a new favorite. Between and completely hilarious best friend, Katie's wildly inappropriate internal monologues, and the male competitive showboating, this book had me in stitches. It's 4am here. I have to get up in 2 hours. And I regret nothing. This book is just that good.
The entire premise of this book is silly... and that is what makes it so good! What would you do if you won the lottery? Well, gather a harem of men of course! Love it! But you can’t do it alone. You need coordination - and a best friend. And THIS just happens to be that best friends story! Funny stuff
Pros: - Funny! - Contemporary RH - Heather is flipping amazing... and scary. - why not?
Cons: - Food is erotic, yes, but erotic use of food is.... eh???
Such a fun and flirty read that begins to have a slight mystery with that cliffhanger at the end. I love that they story is about the side kick best friend versus your normal MC. I like that all 3 love interests also are not perfect and have some issues. It's hot and fun. Read it!
Ok, now that I've let that out..... what a story! It's silly, it's adventurous, it makes me want my own harem. If only I won the lotto. Haha. All in all, I will be following this series closely to see what happens next. That ending was so cruel but so good.
This was such a great, funny story! I haven't laughed like this while reading in some time. I flove Katie and how she grows within the book. The guys are all definitely interesting and I can honestly say I'll never look at corn the same. Entertaining and can't wait to see how this story continues.
I cannot even express how much I enjoyed this book!!! I’m a big fan of bully romance books but I needed a break, and some lightness. Boy did I get it!!!! Katie is such a fantastic heroine, add in her friend Heather and it just doesn’t get any better!!!!!!! I can’t recommend this book enough!! I’m dying for the next book!!!!!
Wow! I could read this over and over again! It was so much fun and so different from everything I've been reading lately. I laughed and cried and laughed some more. There are steamy scenes, humor, and even includes some action. I enjoyed the whole book so much, definitely a must read!
The laugh out loud moments, the cringe worthy ones and the men that are dripping with sexiness all make this book a hit. The characters are funny and realistic and are growing emotionally (sorta). And the cliff hangar ending came eight as the good stuff came. Man i need me some Kenneth or Alec... who knew that fruit could be so sexy?
I loved that so much! It was super funny, a little snarky, and really steamy. I loved seeing Katie come out of her shell and also love that she's got my name (it's an awesome name). The guys are fan-myself hot and very interesting. I can't wait to read the next book! I feel like the story was just getting to the good bit!!
Holy Hannah banana! I was telling my friends how much I needed a rh romcom! This book totally made my dreams come true! I totally floved it. I legit had tears I was laughing so hard at one point. I'm definitely adding this to my collection for future re reads.
This was a lighthearted and funny RH novel, and it was very light on the RH until the very end. I love the main character Katie, and her crazy friend Heather. Those are the best combinations of friends to have and bring along for the wild ride. This is a really good book and I'm definitely reading the second one
This was a good read. I think I may have read the synopses out of order though because I kept waiting for something to happen that didn't come til the very end.
I picked this up expecting a super lighthearted, funny read. This definitely wasn't it. There are definitely parts that are funny and a TON of heat but just not what I was looking for.
