The Blackwood Pack saga continues… This is part of an on-going series by Amazon Bestselling Author, Mary Rundle, and catching up on previous titles is advised. Readers of the past books will enjoy meeting old friends once more as the pack does what it does best ̶ caring for one another and helping shifters everywhere.
Brian, a.k.a. “The Loch Ness Monster” has searched for his Fated Mate in vain for more than 600 years until he scents Reif in the frigid waters of the lake. But his mate seems to be purposely eluding him, so Brian turns to the Shaman of the Blackwood Pack to help find him.
Reif, one of a line of ancient shifters thought to be extinct is drawn to Brian but must focus on completing a mission to free his enslaved people from the clutches of an evil group. Despite his powerful attraction to Brian, he hides from him, believing it’s the only choice he has.
That changes when Reif surreptitiously kisses Brian while he’s sleeping, setting off a chain of events that puts both of them in mortal danger, and the powerful Blackwood pack resolves to help them stave off the wrath of vampires and witches.
Along the way, both Brian and Reif learn some hard lessons about the mutual trust necessary to achieve the happiness and fulfillment both have sought for hundreds of years.
A heartbreaking confession, an action-packed rescue, a riveting courtroom battle and many unexpected twists and turns make this passionate love story by Mary Rundle impossible to put down once you’ve read the first page.
Multiple POV, M/M, Shifters, Fated Mates, MPREG, HEA
A few years ago, I wrote my first book, Dire Warning. Readers loved it and I was on my way to chronicle the Blackwood Pack, seven brothers who are gay wolf shifters in search of their fated mates—stories about love at first sight with twists and turns, angst and humor, romance and adventure and, of course, happy endings. Since then, the pack has expanded, allowing more stories to be told and different paranormals to be included. The series has become, as one reader described it…an “Epic Saga.” Now, twelve books later, Lord Manetu has just been published. I love the M/M paranormal genre because it gives my imagination a lot of territory in which to roam. My mind can really run wild and come up with some amazing stuff when it doesn’t have to stay inside the box. My story ideas come to me as if they were being channeled by my characters, all of whom I love (except for a few villains). They are eager to recount their lives, loves and adventures, and are not reluctant to let it all out when it comes to revealing steamy details. My writing style is free-wheeling and uninhibited and my readers tell me they love it that way; that it makes them feel like they’re right in on the action and a member of the Blackwood Pack. I live in the Northeast and love the beautiful change of seasons, my husband, and our quirky calico cat, though not necessarily in that order. I read a lot (good for the mind) and love gardening (good for the soul). And I’m always happy to hear from my readers and can be reached through Facebook, my private Facebook Group, Twitter, Instagram, or my website.
Brian and Reif most unusual couple their story was hilariously funny , with good and bad stuff happening to them. To round it up 5 babies came into the world. Another surprise Jacksons cousins have arrived.
Three thoughts run through my mind after finishing this. What a great read. Amazing amount of information packed inside. And the most burning question. Who is Hunter’s mate? Fionn? I can’t wait for more.
Oh my goodness, the Blackwood Series just keep getting better and better. I am giving this book five well deserved stars. I like how the plots takes on separate entities yet blended into a mind popping thrilling story. Waiting anxiously for the next installment. Please read books by Mary Rundle, you want be disappointed.
That was a VERY good book! Mary, you’ve hit it out of the park AGAIN. If anybody wants to read an exquisite story, get ALL of these. Now I can’t wait for #8!!!!!! I have to find out who he was looking at when he said “mate”! Thank you Mary for writing this.
Another outstanding book from Mary Rundle! It was awesome from beginning to end! I love how she incorporates all the series characters into each book and not just the MCs. Can’t wait for the next book to come out! This is a wonderful series!
I absolutely adored this addition to the series. OMG!! This one will take you one direction flip it in another and then leave you reeling. An absolute must read.
OMG!!!! I love this series. Again, I didn't know it was coming out. Hopefully I fixed that. I can not say enough about this author! She is absolutely an amazing writer. Her characters again, are off the charts. Her story lines are so detailed and packed full of emotions and the way she handles them is astounding. I found her website and the pictures of all her characters, WOW so hot. They are gorgeous!!!!! Her books just flow so smoothly. I can't put them down. I sure hope I don't have to wait too much longer for the next book. The ending of this one has me on the edge of my seat waiting.
Well - Serpent's Teardrop was another non-stop whirlwind of action. Again there was simply one fact dropped in about the overarching background conflict with the uncle, while most of the pack finished up the latest problem in Scotland. Like most of the series, more than one conflict was detailed and others began to be added in. So - white dragons, Sea Dragons, and swearing pink cockatoos? The storyline is never boring. Who is Hunter's mate? Oh - and what is with these book covers? I don't see the connection between story and image, but it does make the books easy to spot in a lineup.
Didn't realize how much I missed this series. Loved Brian and Reif! Also, loved seeing the rest of the Blackwood pack!! Can't wait to read the next book and see what the cousins bring to the table!! Love this series!!!
I am enjoying these books, I have no idea where the overall plotline is going, but its kinda fun watching the Blackwood Pack fall like dominos! And waiting to see which really obscure paranormal creature pops up next!
Nick J. Russo once again does an excellent job with his performance of the seventh book in this series. He manages to use very distinct voices for each of the characters and I love his Scottish accent. Since Brian, aka the Loch Ness monster, is one of the MCs in this story we get to hear a lot of that sexy Scottish voice. 😊
Mary Rundle has the most detailed blurbs for her books so please read the one for Serpent’s Teardrop. For me, I’ve enjoyed listening to this series so much; I’ve not read them with my eyes. I confess that I started listening to them because of Nick J. Russo; I was not familiar with Mary Rundle’s writing. But once I started listening to the series, I quickly understood why The Blackwood Pack series has so many fans.
Brian has been one of my favorite characters since he first appeared. Reif was a surprise because Brian never thought he’d find his fated mate. They don’t have the best start with each other but the Blackwood Pack comes through with their help, as always, and Brian and Reif get their well-deserved HEA.
In addition to Brian and Reif’s love story, Fionn – a dragon shifter introduced in an earlier book – finally gets some resolution to the problem he’s been having with his uncle. I enjoyed getting to visit with so many of the other characters in this series. Because this is an ongoing series everything is not resolved yet and there’s a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of this story.
If you enjoy a large cast of characters and a variety of different shifters, I don’t hesitate to recommend The Blackwood Pack series. I’m looking forward to listening to more of the books. If you can’t wait for them all to come out in audio format, books 1-10 are available to read now in Kindle Unlimited.
A copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey’s books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

The Blackwood Pack has developed into a really good series. Book 7, Serpent's Teardrop seems to have slipped a little as more things are left hanging or unresolved. For example, the title usually has a pretty solid tie into the major resolution of the book. I didn't see it this time. The tears burned. OK.... Also what were the mates new powers? They were promised but if they showed up, nobody showed us, much less, told us. If your a big fan of the series as I have been, I expect you will find enough in book 7 to hold out hope for book 8. My impression is that Ms Rundle didn't have a clear vision for 7 or 8 and that's why the plot didn't really tie out and the cliffhanger was merely a small shelf that left me flat.
This is the seventh book in The ( Blackwood Pack Series)
This was another great read from this Author I'm truly enjoying this series I really like all of these couples each situation is different there's your usual drama and high jinks but I also like that this Author focuses on family . Which is a huge scene in these book and understandably so because these boy's have been through the ringer which made their relationship stronger than ever . But I have to say that of all the mate's Logan's mate is my favorite bands down his sunny personality and easy going ways makes him a great Alphas mate ,but David comes in a close second for his sweetness and caring . Looking forward to the next book in this series .
The cast of characters is getting to be a bit cumbersome with all of the jumping around in POV. Hopefully, now that the family is all back in California, we'll get a bit less of that. Though I can't wait to see who Hunter ends up being the mate to, and how that'll all work out.
I loved that we got to see Brian and Reif come together, and for the Blackwood Pack to really start to gel together as a very powerful group to be respected.
I love this series and this book didn't disappoint. I like getting to read about friends and not technical pack members. I know we'll see more of "the man" soon which is good because I'm intrigued by him. I also can't wait for the cousins to add themselves to the pack.
I got so many unexpected surprises with this book. I can't say how many times I say to myself. That whoever the bad guy is turns out,to be an idiot. When someone gives you a chance to live. Please take it. I can't wait to read the next book.
The Blackwood Pack saga continues, and WOW it’s incredible! Mary Rundle is a master at juggling characters , situations and mates! I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books in this series! Highly recommended!!
Omg I absolutely loved this book did not think this series could get any better but I was wrong. This was definitely an emotional rollercoaster cannot wait to read the next book.
Serpent's Teardrop is the 7th book in the truly epic Blackwood Pack series. This book follows the story of seas serpent, Brian, a.k.a. “The Loch Ness Monster” and Reif. This book is not any of the direct Blackwood Pack, but interesting to get some side character's story while moving the overall story forward. It continues the story and also has some of the previous characters. The characters are great and have excellent development over the course of the book and series. The series contains different shifters as well as magic, witches and vampires, loads of hurt-comfort, Mpreg, and fated mates. The book is well written, has all the steam and feels and I just couldn't put it down. WOW, just a fantastic series, and looking forward to continuing the journey.
I always love getting more time with Kieran, he it totally my happy place 😆 I was thrilled that Nessy got his own mate and that the crew helped him through everything. I also loved the tantalizing tidbits about the cousins and the lead up to their visit/the next book (it made me power read through this book so I could get to the next 😉).
Twists and turns. Nefarious villains. Love from so many directions. Just the perfect way of tying up loose ends and clues of what is going to come next!
I loved this book, even with the jumping from Character to character. You needed to know what was going on honestly I don't know how you'd know otherwise.
