Dante Santiago is the Most Wanted man in America. Grown men tend to shit themselves on hearing his voice. He’s a king amongst men.

“He’s the king of my heart.
The man whose touch I crave; the man who stole me, twisted my emotions and made me his forever.” Eve

Eve Miller.
Failed daughter.
Award-winning reporter.
A master criminal’s lover.
She is having a great inner battle, but the heart wants what it wants...

Dante is falling so hard for Eve but he doesn’t want to realise it yet!
They are two opposing forces that mesh together so fucking flawlessly!

“Underneath her gentle beauty lies the beating heart of a lioness.” Dante

Their story is of epic proportions! The plot thickens and the twists are being shot from everywhere! The bombs are dropped one after the other and the revelations are grand!!!
The author’s writing is captivating, it gripped me and left me breathless!
The world she has created is sinful yet smashing!

One more part for this series to end...😢

Lastly, there is Joseph Grayson, Dante”s right hand, a great character in this series and I can’t wait for his story (The Grayson duet) to be completed! 😱

We jump back into the story and how both Eve/Dante are dealing with their 6-month separation. They have no contact with each other, but you know damn well Dante has been keeping a close eye on her even if Eve has no idea how deep his protection goes.

Eve is stuck back in her life in Miami, she is back to working as a journalist but focusing on writing articles and investigating everyone but the Santiago world. She is also being harassed by FBI Agent Peters, he randomly brings her in and keeps asking her about Dante but of course Eve is not speaking and playing dumb.

We get to see Dante and what he is currently up to, and he is going around the world destroying a massive Human Trafficking ring. We also find out that his brother lied to him in the last book, and he did not kill Dante's daughter Isabella but instead had her sold at 4 years old to the traffickers and has been either sold throughout the years or possibly died but Dante is determined to find everyone connected and destroy them to avenge the little girl he failed.

We also get a lot more backstory about Dante, starting from his childhood up to the point he is an adult and leaves his family to join the Military. It won't come as a shock to see Dante and the way he was raised by his father and how he was forced into the darkness. His mother killing herself was the last straw for Dante and the last light he had within him, and it died alongside her.

We also find out something extremely disturbing and that is that Eve’s DEA father has been helping the sex traffickers with shipments and girls, all of this has been proven by multiple evidence and when Dante finds out about his part in all of it he loses his mind and basically destroys the relationship he has between Eve as he thinks she knew and she protected him knowing all of this. He kicks her out of the island and sends her back unprotected to Miami and spends the next week drinking himself away and even pushing Joseph out. He comes to after his bender and realizes his mistake and goes to Miami in search of her.

We meet a few new key players and one of them is Andrei Vetrov who is the brother of Sevastien, the man in charge of this trafficking ring that both of them want to get rid of. Andrei lost his daughter due to Sevastien and we find out that Agent Peters is actually the illegitimate son of Andrei whose twin sister was the daughter Andrei speaks of.... the only reason he was harassing Eve was to make sure she could be trusted and not end up being a snitch.

This book deals with much darker themes as we dive into the world of sex trafficking and child abduction. It's heartbreaking to think Isabella was a victim of this world and even though I know what happens as I've already read this trilogy; you can't help but feel for the little girl and the life she could of had if she hadn’t been the pawn in a bigger scheme.

The ending though! Anna getting kidnapped was still hard to reading about because again I know what happens and her storyline will get her own duet alongside Joseph. Her books are a hard pill to swallow tbh....it's a dark book.

-------------------------------------------------
August 2021 (original review): I enjoyed this much more than book 1. The reveal about Eve's father was disturbing and I was not expecting it.

The scene where Dante finds out about his connection and throws her out of the island made me need a minute. I knew he would come to regret it but I still was not prepared for that reaction.

That ending though....

description GAAH...this BOOK! I am in love with this trilogy...IN. LOVE. WITH. IT. And that is saying something since I am in no way a fan of one couple's story being dragged out over several books. But this author can write like nobodies business. Add in the fact that we have gotten two fantastic books with ZERO other women drama (I am sure the last will be the same), and I plan on #fangirling the SH!T out of this trilogy! (lol)

description

Book two starts up right where we left off with Eve and Dante having been separated for six months. Luckily for us readers, we don't have long to wait until a happy reunion takes place. However, things aren't all smooth sailing for this couple as Dante continues not to win any personality awards with his surly and often hurtful attitude. Alas, Eve isn't a pushover which makes for some great acrimonious scenes. Not to mention, some smokin' hot sex scenes which are plentiful and will set you tablet on fire.

description

Of course, the romance isn't the only thing this has going for it. There is a continuing sex slavery storyline that brings in a lot of new (and exciting) characters, along with secrets, heartbreak, and betrayals. Last, this all wraps up in yet another whopper of a cliffhanger that left me biting my nails; I SO need book three NOW.

So yea, nothing much left to say. I love it. I recommend it. Go buy it (on the 17th when it releases)! description

I enjoyed this book waaay more than the first.
In this book Dante uses his connections in the mafia to battle one of the worst problems the world have to deal with, human trafficking.

The heroine finally grew a pair and confronted Dante every single time he defied her, but Dante (and this is why I ended up giving this book a 3 star instead of a 4star rating) was too forceful on her and their first sex scene felt like a rape to me; then he gave the h excuses for his behaviour which was not excusable 🤦🏼‍♀️

OH MY, DANTE SANTIAGO! ♥️

Riprende proprio da dove Hearts Of Darkness era finito.

Audiobook Review

Hearts Divine is book two in Catherine Wiltcher’s Santiago Trilogy. Six months have passed since the end of book one and during that time Dante and Eve have been separated. Dante has made sacrifices to keep her safe but is aching to be with her again. When he does things are not easy and full of complications but their pull and intense attraction has not waned. The way their relationship progresses in this story was even more intense and steamy than the last book and Dante will stop at nothing to keep Eve protected from the ugly people in his world that is out to harm him and her.

Wiltcher’s writing is gripping, thrilling and full of action, with many dark mafia and cartel secrets to uncover and it kept me engaged and connected to the story from beginning to end. The twists I never saw coming were endless and left me wanting more! I am eager to see how it all concludes in book three!

Sarah Puckett and JF Harding continue narrating the audiobook. As with the last story they were flawless in their delivery and the two are phenomenal at engaging the listener with their passionate, intense emotional storytelling.

Hearts Divine by Catherine Wiltcher is book Two in The Santiago Trilogy. This continues the story of Dante Santiago and Eve Miller, so you really need to read the previous book 'Hearts Of Darkness' to fully enjoy this book. We start this book a few months from where the first book left us. Eve and Dante have been apart due to several reason one being to keep her safe and to work on Dante past. But their time apart is coming to a end but there is still danger looking for them.
This book is so exciting to read and seems to just be getting better. The only thing hard about this series is waiting for the next installment...I hope to read the next one soon!!!

Marked by the Devil

Catherine Wiltcher The Santiago Trilogy

This trilogy, these characters... they are so flawed and do horrible things, yet I can't stop listening. Eve (Myers) Miller and her devil, Dante Santiago, have such an unhealthy relationship filled with love, hate, lies and half-truths. But again, I'm a sucker for them.

I was planning to break this up, but I can't walk away now. I'm a tethered to them as they are to each other. For good or evil. And there's plenty of evil. (Check your triggers.)

I listened to this as part of The Santiago Trilogy. The narrators are JF Harding and Sarah Puckett. They are terrific choices for these characters. There are a couple of pronunciations that are incorrect, like Petrov, but it's still a very enjoyable listen.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars

HEARTS DIVINE

I am loving this trilogy! Hearts Divine had me on the edge of my seat. It is action-packed with so many twists and turns. I want to hate Dante so bad, but, like Eve, I. Just. Can’t. Gahh! And my girl Eve has become this total badass and I LOVE it! I am dying for the conclusion!

The mafia plot of the book is pretty intriguing but the “love story” makes me want to bang my head against the wall. Dont get me wrong, right dose of toxicity and angst are my catnip, but if every single conflict ends up in our main characters banging each other and going back to fighting over the same issue each chapter…….yeah no…..

GAH!! I have never been so excited to jump back into a trilogy than I have with this author's Santiago Trilogy. I have been so obsessed with Dante and Eve and their tantalizing love story and all the drama and violence surrounding them. Hearts Divine was sexy, intense and so edgy and I seriously could not get enough of this story. And that ending?! OMG I need book three right now!!

Gah! What an explosive second book in this series. Without giving away any spoilers, Hearts Divine follows the cliffhanger from the first book as we see Eve handling the fallout from killing a man while simultaneously coming to terms with life without Dante. But when she is reunited with her devil and even more secrets come to light, we see how Eve is forced to reconcile lies with new and painful secrets that tear up her world.

Wiltcher did an astounding job bridging Dante's cold and savage side with the deeply vulnerable and damaged individual he is inside wrestling his feelings of guilt and torment. He was the darkness to Eve's light and seeing how they fit so beautifully was magical to see. He helped open her eyes to the seedier sides of living while she had him longing to be loved and accepted despite his darkness.

All in all, I seriously can not wait for book three and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for more bombs to explode! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

"Damn his half-life that I'm forced to endure without her.

I always find the second installment of a series the hardest to write a review for. There is so much I want to rave about, but can't. So I'll keep this short and sweet and go full out raving when the conclusion is released.

Hearts Devine kicks off right where Hearts of Darkness ended, with Dante and Eve separated and the FBI breathing down Eve's neck. The story, I found to be a little more angsty than the first -which was A-Okay by me.

Told in Dual POV between Dante and Eve, we follow their story through the lies, secrets and the blood they've shed of their enemies. A couple who kills together, stays together...

I'm really looking forward to Eve and Dante's conclusion, I can't wait to see where the author leads us next.

Twisted bliss…

If you thought the heat and intensity in this read may not have the same sucker punch emotional hit of the first story then you will happily be mistaken!

Dante and Eve loved each other. Physically and emotionally, the phrase ‘you complete me’ could have been written for them. If this sounds very ‘hearts and flowery’ then let me get real….

This romance differs from any traditional love story I’ve ever read. The rules are thrown out the window in the face of their devotion to each other. Dante is driven, violent and vengeful yet Eve owns him, body and soul. Eve throws everything away for her love for him, no matter the cost.
Romeo & Juliet-like? Yes, if Romeo was shaped by a violent past and Juliet struggled every minute with the decisions she couldn’t not make… Their relationship shouldn’t be but despite every reason they shouldn’t be together (and there are a lot!) they are. Complicated? Like I’ve never seen before! Dark? Powerful? Twisty? Oh yes! In ways that had me hanging on every word. The back and forth between these lovers was more a circular motion because no matter the issue, it always brought them back to each other. Eventually…

A heart-pounding, stomach-churning, fabulous read! Waiting for the last book is going to be torture…

I need the last book in this trilogy now. This is a must read series. Make sure you read book one first and then jump straight into this one.. you won’t regret it.

Dante and Eve. Seriously these two are blooming awesome. The to ing and fro ing had me ready to knock their heads together.

Dante is a force all on his own. With his past weighing on his shoulders he fears no one. He’s kept everyone at a distance... until Eve enters his life.

After finishing book one I couldn’t wait to read this. I so wasn’t disappointed. As soon as I had started this I knew I wasn’t going to put my kindle down until the last page. It was that good. Can’t wait to read more of this story.

"Don't give up on me, baby. You're the only light I see."

Hearts in Darkness by Catherine Wiltcher was a sexy, suspense filled story that I absolutely loved. I didn't think things could get any better than the first book, but Wiltcher upped her game in the second installment of this breathtaking trilogy. Dante and Eve's passionate story thrilled me from start to finish, leaving me wanting more.

"He's even more magnificent than I remembered. He's a king amongst men. He's the king of my heart."

The story picks up months after part one ended, with Eve and Dante separated by their circumstances. Wiltcher's writing is impressive, and her characters are multifaceted and written in a way that leaves the reader yearning to learn more about them. Both main characters struggled to find their own balance between darkness and light, in a world where the lines between right and wrong are constantly blurring. I especially enjoyed the flashback scenes from Dante's past, which gave more insight into the events that molded him into the man he is today. His darkness intensified even more from the last book, and his constant battles with both Eve and himself gave the story an unpredictability that left me unsure of where the author was taking this couple. My emotions while reading were all over the place, a testament to Wiltcher's fantastic storytelling skills. The connection between these two characters was as complex as it was intense. Their intimate scenes were filled to brim with passion, and I love how Dante took things to the edge without going over the top.

"Find me in the darkness, Dante. Find my light and let me guide you."

The pace of the story was perfect, and the suspense and action blended perfectly with the romance. The dark elements were spot on, and the twists and revelations were done just right. There were moments in the story that were absolutely heartbreaking, and moments that had me on the edge of my seat. I loved that we got to read a bit from Joseph's POV and I have my fingers double crossed in hopes that he will get a book of his own. As for the ending, well, lets just say that I am incredibly anxious to get my hands on the final installment.

“You say that I’m your angel and that you ache to be a better man when you’re with me, but what good is a fallen angel with a heart as black as yours? I can’t bring you back to the light if you keep on crushing me with an iron fist.” He laughs then, but it’s an empty sound with no joy. “It’s so much fun corrupting you, Eve. You taste like fucking redemption. My angel, you have no idea.”

Book two is angsty as fuck. Like brutally angsty.
Dante’s flash backs into his past are incredibly dark. Some of the decisions he’s made along the way in his life I have a really hard time excepting as a reader. But his internal conflict with himself has made me battle my own opinions on him. I love this character so hard. He’s so broken and so twisted and dark. And I totally see why Eve falls hopelessly in love and forgives Dante over and over.
This is an incredible love story that is extremely unique. Because for the first time as a reader, I have found a antihero that I’m not sure I could ever forgive him for the things that he’s done in his life.

There’s two sides to book two, we have the hot and cold relationship of Dante and Eve. Eve wants Dante desperately to just say that he loves her. And he simply cannot do it. His internal battle with himself makes him feel like he doesn’t deserve being in love with someone. But he’s too selfish (his own words) to ever let her go again.
“I can’t keep up with you anymore, Dante.” His name catches in my throat. “One minute you’re mouthing the sweetest things. The next, you’re breaking my heart.” “Just…love me.”
And then we have the mafia aspect. That’s full of drama and suspense. There’s a ton of twists and turns and no one is who they say they are in this book. That’s for sure.

This book leaves off on a crazy cliffhanger. We have side characters we know well, one being Eves best friend and Dante’s second in command.
Eve’s BFF gets kidnapped by the man Dante has been after. I can see that book three is going to be one hell of a ride!

My Soul is Dancing with the Devil

This amazing 2nd book in The Santiago Trilogy I can only but highly recommend as a must read NOW! What a brilliant cliff hanger! Only thing is, how can I wait until the end of June, it seems miles away, for Heart’s On Fire to be released, so that I can get my fix! I’m screaming inside to attain vengeance and retribution for the evil human trafficking organisation and to end the darkness in this world forever! Can Dante’s avenging angel ever forgive the evil lurking within his dark past life and work with Andrei Petrov and his illegitimate son Roman in their vengeance for Isabella? Will their Common Enemy be Dante’s downfall? Will the courageous, beautiful Eve just be collateral damage in their mission? Eyes are watching everywhere, who do they trust? Eve is the only person Dante trust’s as she is his ‘voice of reason’. Everything is personal to the Santiago and the Petrov families, but can they work together, me thinks not! Can Joseph have his HEA in his unrequited feeling’s for Anna? Is Agent Peter’s the key to this evil organisation? Can and will Eve bring the light to Dante’s dark broken soul?
Believe me you have to read this superb book! This magnificent author puts her very soul in to her writing and it certainly shines through in this fast paced psychological thriller.

“Find me in the darkness,” I gasp, breaking for breath. “Find my light and let me guide you.”

“I’m not deserving of love and I’m certainly not deserving of you and yours but I’ll take it and give nothing in return because that’s the kind of selfish bastard that I am.”

I read this one super fast. Book 2 has alot going on and I loved it.

The flashbacks we get from Dante's past are great insight to how he became the man he is today. He has done some fucked up truly questionably things but I love how the author doesn't try and water his character down. Even towards Eve he's not all sweet and loving and I'm here for that.

Excited to go straight into the final book in the trilogy because that cliffy was just too much.

Hearts Divine, the second book in the Santiago series by Catherine Wiltcher is a good continuation to the story. The plot definitely thickens and you learn a lot more about other players in this dark mafia world.

Narrated in duel by Sarah Puckett and JF Harding, this audiobook is a dream. Both narrators do so well performing the opposite sex. I can’t fault them.

OMG! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN TO REVIEW THIS!!!!

I was looking for a crime mob boss SAFE love story you know and turns out this book and this series makes me not only reading actions but FEEL THE GREAT LOVE THE COUPLE HAVE OMG! It made me all so emotional for them in a sweet romantic way🥺

WHAT A GREAT SAFE LOVE STORY....

🟦 SECOND BOOK OF THIS SERIES 🟦

WE ALL KNOW THE FIRST BOOK that the ending got all crazy because the separation they have WAS TOO LONG OMG TOO LONG! 6 MONTHS! But yet, it better be that long and not years right lol

‼️ IT HAS SEPARATION AND DURING THIS TIME... BOTH HERO AND HEROINE ARE VERY LOYAL😍 NO ONE ELSE... i’m telling you, no one else!

THE HERO quote:
“Thank God. Do you know how many times I’ve had to j*rk off in the last six months?”

“I haven’t touched another woman since I first laid eyes on you. You’re the only one I see. The only one who matters.”

I NEED WATER AFTER READING THAT lol

Also during the separation the heroine situation was very difficult as well so they have to separate... the hero was planning to do the war himself only so the heroine can come after the whole mess is finished. He also wants to protect the heroine by being separated so the heroine won’t be in danger. But because the hero also cannot stand being too far from the heroine anymore, he came back for her...🥺

“YOU Are never an afterthought with me, Eve. Every minute of every day I watching you, obsessing over you, cursing your name time and time again for not jumping into that water with me. Cursing myself for letting you stay behind. But one glimpse... that’s all I needed Eve. One f*cking glimpse. I saw you walk past me on that sidewalk and I lost my mind. I endangered the whole mission and the lives of every single one of my men when I took you the way I did.”

‼️NO CHEATING

‼️THE SECOND SERIES is more about the whole new mission that take place for new characters and new information that made the hero more vicious with the criminals that need to be punished. THE HERO AND HEROINE DO FIGHT AND GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER THAN BEFORE...

‼️HOT SMUT SCENES OFC

‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. NO DRAMA WITH OM.. well all the drama was mainly about the crime scenes and the whole new mission that they about to take because its bigger than ever before. BUT ALL THE DRAMA WAS NOT TOO ANNOYING...

‼️TRIGGERS S*x trafficking. The hero founds out about something like that and want to make that his mission to end all of that and make justice.

‼️THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE

‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENE FROM THE HERO

“Who is he? I snarl. He’s standing far too close to her for my liking. He keeps touching her arm...
He’s a dead man.
I’m too busy debating whether or not to turn the plane around and fire one of my bullets into this man’s skull. NO ONE TOUCHES EVE.”

yupp....

‼️IT HAS SEPARATION AGAIN ON THIS BOOK BUT BECAUSE THE HERO WAS RECEIVING NEW BAD INFORMATION ABOUT THE HEROINE AND IT DIDN’T MADE HIM FEEL GOOD AT ALL... he got all dark on the new information and started to push the heroine very away and made her leave him alone. She left and it took a week for the hero to feel bad and guilty. HE SAVED HER JUST IN TIME BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. DURING THIS TIME OF COURSE BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL AND DIDN’T TOUCH ANYONE ELSE. In the end they reunited....

‼️THE SECOND BOOK ENDS WITH THE HEROINE AND HERO IS PLANNING ON SOMETHING NEW AND REUNITED AFTER THE CRAZY SITUATION.

I loved this book!
Catherine Wiltcher's writing flows and she has an excellent amount of suspenseful scenes as well as great sexy scenes. It was fantastic to see the characters grow and change with each other slowly.
What a cliffhanger though. Wow! I can't wait for book 3.
