Now, the band of brothers, together once more, work to provide a place for less fortunate veterans to call home. Coming Mitch Evans left his career as an FBI agent after his father retired as the Baytown Police Chief. Returning home to take up the mantle, he was glad to be back with his family and the Baytown boys. The bonus? Reuniting with his childhood friend and teenage crush. As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

Book 1 – Coming Home: 4 Stars

Mitch Evans, one of the original Baytown Boys, left his small town at 18, wanting to see the world and feeling there had to be more to the world than was found in his hometown. Now after being in the military and leaving his job as a FBI agent, he is happily back in his hometown, becoming the Chief of Police, a job previously held by his father and before that his grandfather.

Victoria (Tori) Bradford came back to Baytown to run the Sea Glass Inn after her grandmother’s death. Divorced for a year, she is loving being in Baytown, where every summer as a child/teen she visited her grandmother and saw the boy she secretly loved Mitch Evans. When Mitch shows up at her doorstep, her feelings for him rush to the surface, and for Mitch having his childhood friend and secret love living in Baytown gives him a chance to have the girl/woman he has always wanted. But it’s not smooth sailing to their HEA, it’s at risk, someone seems to want Tori dead, but Mitch will be damned before he lets that happen.

The flashbacks to Mitch and Tori’s interactions as children and then teens were lovely, and added a layer of sweetness to the romance.

The secondary characters in this were engaging and I liked the close-knit family and friendship bonds that were depicted. This first book was my favourite of the three and I found the main characters and their relationship a charming one, definitely staying in my re-read pile.

Book 2 – Just One More Chance: 3.5 Stars

Book 2 focuses on another of the original Baytown boys - Grant Wilder and his childhood sweetheart Jillian Evans. Grant came back from war a changed man, pushing Jillian away even as he continued to love her. Grant’s actions at the onset of the book, before Grant’s demons are revealed, made me dislike him a tad, I wasn’t happy

Jillian worked for years to conceal her broken heart, when Grant moved back home to become one of the Baytown police officers. He insisted friends is all they could be, so friendship was what she gave, now though she feels it is time to try and move on. Grant seeing that he may finally truly loose the woman that has his heart, works to work through his demons, so that the future both dreamed about as children/teens can come to fruition. It’s once the author reveals the reasons for Grant’s actions since returning from war that I really started to like him as a character and truly enjoy the story.

Book 3 – Clues of the Heart: 3 Stars

The final book in the boxset gives us the story of Katelyn MacFarlane and Gareth Harrison. Katelyn’s childhood sweetheart/fiancé, one of the original Baytown Boys never made it back from war, killed in action he broke Katelyn’s heart and she hasn’t truly been the same since. Six years later she continues to mourn his loss, but she is starting to get restless and wants something more than waitressing at the dinner and working in the pub she co-owns/runs with her two protective brothers.

Gareth Harrison, the town’s new private investigator, has had his eye on the beautiful bartender since he moved to town, but aware that she still the young man she lost, he hasn’t stepped forward. But when he offers her a job, and she excitingly takes, it gives the connection between the chance to bloom and for Katelyn to embrace her second chance at love. I really liked the fact it never felt like Gareth was second best/second choice – it never felt like he was competing with a ghost when it came to Katelyn’s affection/attention.

Overall, all 3 books were enjoyable reads, and have me keen to read more.

Engrossing plot twists I didn't see coming.

4 stars- Coming Home- Town's golden boy, ex-soldier and FBI agent, and 3rd generation new Police Chief, Mitch Evans, reunites with his childhood love, and Sea Glass Inn owner, Tori Bradford: good suspense, detailed sex, nice emotional, regular romance. Good epilogue. Police dept seems to do alot for how very small they are. H-m-m-m?

4 stars- Just One More Chance- Ex-soldier and one of the Baytown Boys, and now cop, Grant Wilder gets one more chance from his childhood love, and Coffee Shop and Galleria owner, Jullian Evans. Emotionally good- they both finally got to where they should've been right after Grant got back from the service, and their HEA. Nice twist at the end of the suspense I didn't see coming. Still can't help wonder how this very small police force can solve these crimes and still protect the town though. Just sayin'...

4 stars- Clues of the Heart- Ex-soldier, now PI, Garret Harrison, opens his new PI firm in the town he made his new home, and falls in love at first sight with the town's princess, Katelyn MacFarlane. She's been part owner of Finn's Pub and a waitress at the diner for years. She's loved by the entire small town, but is ready to shuck her sad past- losing her HS love in the service. As she gets involved with Garrett and his business, they fall deeper in love while solving two murders.

Minus one star for the predictability in these three stories, but 4 stars for the engrossing plot twists I didn't see coming. On to the next in the series.

Coming Home Book 1 (5 stars)

A great start to a great series. The characters were believable and well-developed. The plot was amazing.

Just One More Chance Book 2 (5 stars)

I enjoyed this book and love this series. Grant and Jillian are meant for each other, but Grant has some unresolved issues he must work through. It's full of suspense and intrigue and romance.

Clues of the Heart Book 3 (5 stars)

Baytown Boys Series continues with Katelyn and Garreth. Katelyn MacFarlane thought her chance of happily-ever-after ended with her childhood sweetheart's death in the military. She felt there was more to life than waitressing at a local diner and working at her family pub. Garreth Harrison came to Baytown after his time in the military and started a private investigation agency. He fell for Katelyn at first sight, but he didn't act on it because of her grief. He offered her a job, and their attraction grew. A brilliantly written story with wonderful characters. A great addition to this awesome series.

Overall I liked them

I enjoyed enjoyed the books, although think Gareth and Katelyn's story was my favorite. Mitch and Tori had a good story too but somewhat dragged - as did Jillian and Grant's.

The first story was slow. I skimmed to find out who the bad guy was but didn't continue with the rest of the book.
