I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book, which is a sequel to All Roads Lead Home. I enjoyed the familiar characters and their relationships.
The story begins with the wedding of Shane and Shelby and everything is perfect. Their future is off to a great start until trajedy strikes. They're ability to deal with grief drives them apart leaving them bereft. They try to find a way to heal and get their life back on track but are faced with another surprise, that ends up being a salve to their broken hearts.
I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but I can share that i like the way this author develops her characters with intensity. There are plenty of feels and while the characters are flawed, they fight for the ones that they love. Enjoyable read, i finished in one sitting.
The story was predictable but still good. It was heartbreaking at times. And heartwarming at other times. This book confirms that good communication is key to healthy relationships. The dialogue didn’t sound right at times, but I still enjoyed the book.
As always this author manages to put so much emotion in her story that it iis a definite recipe for a book hangover. Shane's story was so much more than I expected, he has been through so much but keeps on fighting for the ones he loves.. The connections between these characters is so strong and the pain they suffered through was truly felt in this story.. I need a new box of tissues...
I read this book is 3 hours... Not going to lie there was a HUGE rough patch for me while reading it. Bit in true Mary fashion the book was worth the rough start...
I have read every one of Mary's books and I must say and it's by no surprise, she has certainly done it again. Shane is such a touching story. One of love, loss, and redemption.
