Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush
When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.

Another very good entry in the Lantern Beach P.D. Series, where Cassidy runs into armed robbers firsthand and gets kidnapped. She must use her utmost creativity to escape, and then has to solve the crime without even proper time to recover. The mystery of Giles’s Cove continues for the next installment as well.

What an intense read!! I'm not enjoying this series as much as I enjoyed the Lantern Beach one, but still loving Cassidy and her friends. Loved how Cassidy reacts to emergencies while protecting her friends and other innocent citizens in her town. And Ty is SUCH a great guy, supporting her every move while allowing her to have her space!

Can't stand that Gilead guy and want to see justice for all the wrongs he has done.
Mac is my favorite character, he is such a great dad and mentor for Cassidy.

Definitely want to know what happens next!

Received a free copy. Was not required to write a positive review. The thoughts and comments are my own.

"Cassidy hoped no one would try to be the hero."

An innocent stop for groceries with her two best friends places Police Chief Cassidy Chambers in a precarious position; risk someone getting shot or allow herself to be dragged away by three masked men as a hostage. Choosing the latter, Cassidy bravely escapes and helps to organize a massive manhunt for the three fugitives. As if nearly dying wasn't high enough on the stress-out scale, Cassidy's job is unfairly threatened and members of a reclusive cult on the island continue to raise more questions than answers.

How does it all fit together or does it? Attempting to locate any significant clues is becoming more and more difficult by the minute.

Christy Barritt fans will absolutely love the second installment in the Lantern Beach P. D. series; especially knowing that there is more to come!

ATTEMPT TO LOCATE is the second book in Ms. Barritt's spin-off series and I would recommend reading On the Lookout first as the plots are very entwined.

I was kept guessing who-dun-it and who was involved until the very end. There were also plenty of twists that I didn't see coming.

I read ATTEMPT TO LOCATE through in one sitting and can't wait to read First Degree Murder.

Ms. Barritt is a very prolific author and this book also tied in to her Accidental Detective series, with Detective Jackson coming on the scene to help investigate.

Grab your copy of ATTEMPT TO LOCATE now.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

One of the many reasons I love Christy Barritt’s romantic suspense series is because of the time I get to spend with the characters. Here we are in the 2nd Lantern Beach spinoff and I still get to hang out with Cassidy and Ty. But even better, I get to meet some new residents of this beach town as the series goes on.

Another reason is the over-arcing thread that runs throughout the series that makes me keep reading while another mystery is solved within the pages of each book.

In Attempt to Locate, readers once again get to sit in the Police Chief chair with Cassidy and experience both the good and the bad of her position. There are missing persons, an attempted burglary, a kidnapping, and someone dead set on revenge. How could you not put this book down until the end? Oh, and I loved the cameo from a character in the Joey Darling series, too.

My only complaint is that I just don’t have enough time to devour all Barritt’s books as soon as she releases them. But there’s always there waiting for me when I can squeeze them in.

Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Another hit out of the park by Christy Barritt. Attempt to Locate is another thrilling chase through Lantern Beach with Cassidy, her friends, and her husband by her side. From the first chapter, readers are thrown for a loop when Cassidy becomes the victim, and the tension keeps moving from there. Gilead's Cove keeps a running thread through the story and makes me want to know how their story is going to end, but in true Barritt fashion, I am sure that is something that I have to wait until the series is over. There really isn't any romance in this addition since Cassidy is already married, but the plot does plan a wedding shower for Lisa. Overall, Attempt to Locate is a wonderful addition to the Lantern Beach world and the familiar characters are a delight to return to. A wonderful entertaining read worth adding to any Barritt fans' collection.

The second in the Lantern Beach P.D. Series, Attempt to Locate starts the suspense right off the bat, keeps the intrigue going and the stakes high until the thrilling conclusion.

A lot's going on around Lantern Beach. They're still dealing with Gilead's Cove, the cult that's recently made the island their home. Plus, a dangerous trio of robbers that's been terrorizing the Outer Banks have just made their way to town.

There was a crossover from one of Barritt's other series that I absolutely loved! It was great seeing this character again and interacting with the Lantern Beach bunch.

Attempt to Locate was another exciting and suspenseful mystery from Christy Barritt. I'm so glad I don't have long until the next book is released. I can't wait!

Wow, my brain didn’t connect the dots in this one, so I was up for a surprise ending, which I really liked.

The cult is still an ongoing thread. Oh, Gilead makes my blood boil. He is a perfect example of a truly deceived and God-less man. It brought some discussion of Biblical passages and the real meanings of them—so far, possibly one of the stronger spiritual threads in this series.

Again, since Ty and Cassidy are married, the romance flames have died down. There is a hint of uncomfortable situations with Moriah, but it’s more tense than romantic.

This book goes back and forth between Moriah Roberts's problems in the cult of Gilead's Cove and Cassidy Chambers's problems in solving a murder and a robbery, plus a missing person. This is the second book in a series, but it can stand alone for a good summer read. I read it in one day, but you can read a chapter or two a day and stretch out the suspense. There is romance, danger, injury, and even an officious mayor who, threatens to fire Cassidy if she doesn't get results fast enough. Could you work well under stress?

A great continuation in this series.

As for Gilead's cove - that place gives me the creeps!!! (And as this is a continuity, I'm pretty sure things are going to get worse before they get better!)

Disappointed that Ty used a partial swear phrase. Trouble is although he used the mild part, I heard the full phrase in my mind, so my rating has reflected that and a star has been deducted.

A series that definitely needs to be read in order.

Good study line with interesting relationships.

This is a good read that keeps you engaged. Characters are believable except for kooky Serena. Some situations seem a little unreal. I enjoyed this book and looking forward to number 3.

Sometimes I feel like a broken record saying over and over again how every book I read by this author is AMAZING! Yet it’s true! Whenever I hear there is a new book out by Christy Barritt I know I’ll enjoy it and not be able to put it down until I’ve finished it. WELL, this story keeps that thinking going.
Christy Barritt is an author who knows how to keep you reading and reading and reading until you’ve realized you’re done and onto the next book. The interesting thing about this series is that I actually got them all a while back and just now reading them. The fun part is now I’m able to read them all one after another and it’s great to keep the story flow going.
This author’s books never go like I think. I often think I’ve figured it out and then BAM something comes up that I never saw coming. WOW!
This story has so much packed into it, it was hard to breathe sometimes. My heart was pounding and my mind was going fast trying to figure out how it was all going to end.
If you LOVE mystery, suspense, and action, you will love this book!
This story will keep you on the edge of your seat until you finish it. Be prepared to not put it down, even to eat or sleep!
I was given this book by the author which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

“The whole town is in danger, and it’s all your fault.”

“... the fact also remained that the cold-blooded murderer on the island knew where Cassidy lived. Knew what she looked like. And he’d vowed revenge.”

“In fact, we should love everyone in our lives because love is from God. Loving people is God’s command. The passage is simply saying our affection for Jesus should run so deep that, by comparison, it makes our affection for anyone else look like hate.”

Another winner by Christy Barritt! Not sure how she churns out so many good books so quickly, but I am thankful that she does. It’s the beginning of Spring at Lantern Beach but the temperatures are still cold. And even worse, there are murderers who robbed a gas station and took Cassidy hostage wreaking havoc on the island. Throw in more storylines with the Gilead’s Cove cult and it’s a great, quick read. And there is plenty of Mac, who I like more and more each book. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Christy Barritt book without mentioning a man wearing spicy cologne!!

Aching for that next book in the series! (My reviews are out of order)

So I finished these 4 in the series. I didn't wait in between books like I usually do to savor each one. I couldn't. They were like a decadent dessert that I wolfed down because it was so good. Now I'm aching, grieving that the next book isn't out yet. I can't stop thinking about what's going to happen next. I miss Cassidy and Ty and all of the friends I feel like I've made while reading the books. The good thing is it's out this May and it's already May 8th. I hope I can find something to read that satisfies like these. They are perfect for me: clean, nothing gratuitous, immensely suspenseful, and full of twists- even though I figured out whodunit about 1/2 way through. That wasn't a deal breaker because there are multiple mysteries going on at one time. See you soon Cassidy and Ty and Mac and .........!

Sheriff Cassidy just can't seem to escape from danger! During a girl's night on the town with her friends, Cassidy and the other ladies are in the wrong place at the wrong time. In order to protect her friends, Cassidy allows herself to be taken hostage, but subsequently escapes. As Ty, Cassidy, and Mac try to catch the robbers loose on Lantern Beach, they get some help from a character from another of Barritt's series, which was a delightful surprise. Entwined with this mystery is a request from a Gilead's Cove occupant to find his sister, who he believes needs help. Cassidy has her hands full wit the two cases, plus the growing cult on the island, which is buying up more land. Great series, great characters, great mysteries.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

Cassidy, Lisa, and Skye are finishing up a girls' night with a quick grocery store stop but then three armed robbers come into the store. They kidnap Cassidy who manages to escape but the men are still somewhere on the island threatening her. Meanwhile Moriah is initiated into Gilead's Cove. Kaleb, from the group, asks Cassidy to help find his missing sister who used to be Gilead's wife. The SBI takes over the robbery investigation and Cassidy's job is threatened. Will they be able to catch the crooks before they kill again? Can Cassidy break up the cult that's taken residence on Lantern Beach?

I enjoyed the mini progression of the Gilead's Cove story which probably won't be resolved until the final book in the series. I am anxious to see how that gets resolved. I enjoyed the cameo of Jackson Sullivan from "The Worst Detective" series. Plenty of suspense to keep me turning pages.

These novels by Christy Barritt are quite enjoyable. The characters are interesting, the stories are intriguing, and the message in them helpful. Cassidy, Ty, Kujo, Mac, Skye, Lisa, Braden and the others are the kind of people (and the dog) that you would like to know and have in your life. I am sure that there are some that would not like the element of faith, prayer, and "Pastor" Jack that are in the story -- but to me, they add a touch of realism to the content. There are people of faith that are in the world, that you do want to know, that make a difference in their community, and are not stark raving crazy. Barritt does a really good job of adding just the right touch to make that point. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the "Lantern Beach P.D." series.

Another exciting book from a talented and prolific author. This new series spun off her last popular one keeps readers guessing. Each book deals with one crime story and plenty of potential suspects while continuing an ongoing suspense thread through the series. I’m glad a new novel comes out each month so we don’t have to wait long. The characters are fun and feel like old friends. Cassidy has to deal with so much but always hangs in there and works hard to handle whatever threatening situation arises. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Even though it is the slow season at Lantern Beach, suspense is at an all-time high! This time robberies, kidnapping, and politics occupy Chief Cassidy Chambers' time and energy. With the help of her husband, Ty, and their friends, Cassidy works to solve a robbery, find a missing woman, and try to keep her job. For those of you who read Christy Barritt's books, you may find a character from one of her other series making a "cameo" appearance in this book. If you like suspense, you need to read this book - and series. But beware, you will want to "return" to Lantern Beach again and again!

Suspense, with a bonus surprise!

The suspense builds in the second book of the Lantern Beach PD. When a member from inside the compound asks for Cassidy's help to locate a missing person, she is ready for the chance to find answers about the secret cult. Do they really need and want her help? Or, is Cassidy being lured into a trap?

The mystery continues to build with some additional answers given about what goes on inside the compound. If you have read and enjoyed The Worst Detective Ever series, there is also a surprise guest appearance from a very special character! I would love to see more crossover of the characters between these series! Loved it!
