“Everything starts with prayer. Without asking God for love, we cannot possess love, and still less are we able to give it to others.” - Mother Teresa
Prayers have the power to transform our lives, uplift our spirits, and most important, glorify God. This inspiring collection will draw you closer to a loving Savior who wants to hear from you.
Selected from Scripture and the writings of some of history’s most influential and eloquent believers, including Charles Spurgeon, Martin Luther, and Saint Augustine, these pint-sized petitions will prepare your heart for sweet fellowship with the Lord as you seek, praise, bless, and thank Him.
Perfect for devotional time or as a gift for someone special, let Short Prayers to Change Your Life give you the words to express what your soul longs to say to God.
This book is filled with beautiful short prayers by inspirational people like Charles Spurgeon, Martin Luther, Saint Augustine, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and more as well as verses from the Bible. It will make a great addition to the library of anyone who is a spiritual seeker and wants to spend time with the Lord. I will be coming back often to this inspiring and uplifting collection.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Another day to read book and one worth keeping beside you in times of prayer. Using scripture, words and prayers of the famous, the less well known and traditional blessings. Here are words to encourage, uplift and inspire your own times of intercession and prayer. I liked the balance of the book with the familiar prayers and faith inspiring scriptures. The words of saints or the traditional blessings from ancient cultures. These are short verses you can share in times of prayer and find as an encouragement to turn to God in prayer. Why we should and how in echoing others we can learn to expand our on prayer time. I feel blessed to have been able to read it and share with others wanting to deepen their faith and explore times spent in prayer.
Great book for gifting! Offers great short prayers even from famous people around the world to help with whatever area you’re struggling with. I can’t wait to buy this for my friends!

I absolutely loved this wonderful collection of short prayers! Pat Judd did a commendable job of gathering prayers from around the world. So many of the prayers really struck a chord with me; no matter when I picked up the book, I found something that seemed hand-picked for me. Coincidence? I think not!
The only thing that could make this book better is increasing its length.
This book would make a great gift for any Christian or someone who enjoys inspirational quotes.
My sincere thanks to NetGalley and Harvest House Publishers for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Many of us are feeling more contemplative as our world careens out of its usual orbit. If you are a person who likes to center oneself through taking a thoughtful moment, this book is an excellent resource. It is exactly as described, a series of short prayers upon which to reflect. The entries come from many sources; to name just a few there are a Kenyan blessing, Jane Austen, William Penn, Peter and the Psalms. Take a moment and then return to daily life with the help of this book.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great little book for a daily devotion, or for a prayer guide when you are lost for words. It also contains wonderful quotes from well-known individuals throughout history. I would recommend this for not only Christian friends, but for anyone who enjoys inspirational quotes. Thank you, NetGalley, for this early copy to preview!
“Short Prayers to Change Your Life” is filled with words of wisdom from the likes of Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr and Satchel Paige. The book is full of gratitude and gentle reminders to open our hearts through praise and prayer. I enjoyed reading this in the morning to get me day started in a positive direction. Great compilation of quotes and scripture.
I am not one for focusing on written prayers myself as I tend to approach prayer as talking to God myself, however I can appreciate that there is value on reading these 'writings' for meditative purposes. I can imagine that this book might make a lovely gift in physical format but the layout has not translated well into a digital copy.
This book is full of refreshing, soothing prayers that make your heart feel at ease. I will say that the digital version was sometimes difficult to read (quotes would blend together) but overall, I really enjoyed this read!
I truly enjoyed these short prayers. It a book that can help you in everyday life. It can help you I think when you are feeling down. I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own. Thank you NetGalley and The Harvest House Publishing.
What I love about Short Prayers to Change Your Life is it is full of quotes and prayers from people throughout history. When you just aren’t sure what to pray, it’s wonderful to have examples from others to model your own prayers after.
A useful addition to my daily devotions. Some of the prayers included were very welcome and caused me to re-read them more than once. Others I questioned as to why they were included - and perhaps there is some value in that as well.
Would be nice if the prayers were better referenced :)
A short book of mainly one line prayers perfect for today's busy world, I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review .
I enjoyed using this little book of small prayers as prayer started in my morning devotions. They have prayers from early church fathers to prayers from different Christian traditions.
Wonderful collection of short prayers and prayer quotes. Graphically appealing. Organized as seek God - praise God - bless others - thank God. Short prayers that you can carry through the day.
I am so glad I seized the opportunity to read a galley of this book for a review on NetGalley courtesy of the publisher, Harvest House Publishers. As part of my personal spiritual/religious practice, I engage in daily prayer as well as reading a brief excerpt from some book that inspires (or might inspire) spiritual and moral contemplation. I included this book as part of this daily ritual, and the passages excerpted in this collection were uniquely resonant and evocative. Specifically I was inspired by the uniquely worded expressions with gratitude to God and appreciation of the perspective and strength my faith gives me. Many of the selections spoke to the value of prayer in and of itself. One passage that particularly struck me expressed the idea that any prayer that is in accordance with God's plan will be heard. I commend the editors on putting together this brief but noteworthy collection.
