K.J. loves creating dark, and forever twisted, characters. A Mom to four freaking awesome kids, she currently lives in New England with her Husband, three teenage boys, and a small herd of fluffy animals.
I loved the 1st Moretti Siblings book ("Deceived By Lies") and "Fighting Back" did start off so, so well, but...a few things, some of which I'm going to try to be very careful with spoiler-wise. They won't be true spoilers, but I'll label them as such anyway.
SPOILER-ish: The most important point, and this is not a criticism but a suggestion: Yes, this a darker story, with the author marking it for trigger warnings. The trigger warning is for sexual assault, fully non-eroticized sexual assault by non-hero. Rape, essentially, as it involves non-consensual penetration of the vagina with an object & body part. I don't mean to pedantic about this, however, the author (through the voice of the protagonist) doesn't seem label the behavior as such. But it is, and it is likely to be more traumatic for that character than the narrative seems to show.
SPOILER-ish: The identity of the stalker was clear early on, for purely stylistic reasons, though the big twist was not. That twist though stretches all plausibility if both Teams Moretti & Ivanov are actually good at their jobs. If the stalker is who he's supposed to be, I'm fairly certain that would be hard to keep secret with no one the wiser. I also didn't quite understand the stalker's bigger motivation, if the obsession actually played out as indicated.
END SPOILERS.
Another slight criticism, which I usually don't quibble with as I assume they'll be caught in later edit, but there are enough typos and misspellings here to take me out of the story. The author may want to address that at some point.
My overall take on the book: It's still a good story, and I did enjoy it. I'll definitely be reading the next volume, just found this entry a bit lacking.
Quick note: This is book two in the Moretti Siblings series and should be read after book one, Deceived by Lies. Book One gives you the beginning of Anna and Maxim's story and is necessary to understand this book.
After everything that Maxim has put Anna through and the fact that he still wants revenge on her brothers she knows she must stay away from him. Expect Maxim has other plans and he basically forces Anna to come back to him. Anna's brothers are determined to get her back, but they don't count on the fact that her stalker was someone hiding in plain sight. With Anna's life on the line can Maxim and Anna's brothers work together to get her back? Will Maxim be able to let go of his desire for revenge against Anna's brothers? Or is Anna doomed to live a life she doesn't want? This is an excellent read and it wraps up Anna's story wonderfully. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series, No Escape. I can't wait to see which Moretti sibling this one is written about!
You need to read Deceived by Lies first or this book will be a little confusing. This is the conclusion of Maxim and Anna's story. Like the first this book is suspenseful and super exciting to read. In this book we find out who the stalker is, and Maxim and Anna finally get past their sticking points in their relationship. They finally get their happily ever after. I am excited about reading No Escape next. I love these characters and am looking forward to seeing what KJ Thomas has in store for me next.

4.5 stars Another great book in the series. This book here has some material that could be a trigger for some. It is a little darker and more twisted than the first book but I loved it all the same. I love that there is so much going on, it doesn't stop. I do find the consentual sex scenes are very hot. Onto book 3!!! I can't get enough. PS: errors in this book as well. I thought this book was released already, if not the errors should be corrected.
I really enjoyed this story but you will want to read these books in order. Fast-paced and suspenseful, this is one family that sticks together through thick and thin. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is book 2 in the series and you really do need to have read book 1 otherwise you won’t get the full picture of what is happening. Anna and Max have amazing chemistry, great dialogue and are both strong characters. This is a brilliant series and well worth the time to read it.

I enjoyed this conclusion of Maxim & Anna's story. Which you have to read the first book. Good characters. An intriguing book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book via booksprout.
Entangled by Him is the fourth book in the Moretti Siblings series and the second book in the continuing story of Anna Moretti and Maxim Ivanov. The story picks up from the ending of The Hunted and the surprises, action and suspense keep on coming. Anna is a woman who is very interesting and I loved her character. She packs a powerful whollop with just the crooking of her little pinky. And no one falls harder than the big, bad and very powerful Maxim, head of the Russian Bratva. He fell like a lead balloon with his heart aching for Anna from the first time her saw her. This couple are crazy, not only about each other but in their own right.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Needless to say, this episode of Moretti Siblings is hot and full of action. And that includes in and out of the bedroom.
I’m SO excited about which sibling is going to be next. I’m hoping for Flint… I need a sexy, well trained, roughneck doctor. lol…

Big bad Maxim gets brought down by a girl. Mind you, she is a bad-as-all-get-out kind of girl but still. Maxim has a hard dilemma to forgive or lose what he holds dearest to his heart. Can he forgive the Moretti brothers for his perceived wrong, or will he let his anger win?

KJ Thomas is the queen when it comes to writing a suspenseful Mafia romance that is full of twist and turns of betrayal as well as steamy scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the journey of Anna and Maxim. I am so glad I read this book, but it does contain subject matter that might be a trigger for some. Entangled by Him by K J Thomas My second time reading one of this authors work and so far I’m so pleased that it is very entertaining and keeps you enthralled.
