Son ese tipo de libros que cada vez que uno los lee, los miras e interpretas de una manera diferente. La primera vez que se lo leí a mi hija, ella ponía atención a ciertos detalles: colores y figuras más grandes. Pero a medida que ella ha ido creciendo, ve el libro de otra manera, se fija en otro tipo de detalles: figuras que ella encuentra e imagina, nuevas historias dentro del libro. Es así, como me fui dando cuenta que la historia que escribió el autor, se volvió en la historia del lector. Es justamente esa la gracia de Anthony Browne, dejar la libertad de imaginar e interpretar lo que uno crea, porque para eso es el libro ilustrado, para tomarlo y crear nuevas historias de él. Otro detalle no menor, es que me encanta las pausas que utiliza, de esa manera existe el plano perfecto para hacerse preguntas y consultar sobre lo que creen y que ocurrirá.

El libro “Cuentos de oso” es super adecuado para los niños de 0-2 años. El autor hizo algo muy interesante con este libro, involucró muchos cuentos infantiles tradicionales y los unió en uno. Una parte que llamó la atención y se puede interpretar es que el osito tiene su pincel mágico para poder cambiar los destinos de cada personaje de esos cuentos tradicionales y ayudándolos.
El autor, invita a los niños a usar su creatividad para solucionar sus problemas e identificación de imágenes.

Un pequeño y poderoso libro. Anthony Browne siempre impecable y magistral. Si estás pensando en qué regalar a las infancias o en algún libro que sirva de puente entre las infancias y tú, este puede ser un buen comienzo. Es divertido y una se puede pasar horas en cada página preguntando y respondiendo sobre el poder de la imaginación.

Una obra que hace uso de la metaaficción de una manera atractiva y divertida para los niños/niñas. También en el libro podemos ver muchas intertextualidades a cuentos clásicos en una obra de estructura simple.

This book is very short in text but the potential for teaching is huge! Bear is walking through the woods when he comes across a number of characters from different fairy tales; A giant, a witch etc. Bear uses his magic pencil in genius ways to conquer his foes. The pictures in this book are simple and would look great blown up to bigger sizes as inspiration for the childrens own work.

The book could be discussed at length with early years children, with many recognisable characters that they can relate to past stories they have heard and as much of the action is ambiguous it leaves room for you and the children to fill in the gaps. The book could also be used as a starting point for a KS 1 project in which the children could draw, write and discuss what they would draw if they had the magic pencil.
