Love, loss, and bitter envy. Fantasy merges with humanity, as Bernice, a hag of ancient folklore must practice the rituals of her kind. She's not always gotten what she wanted, but can she survive without what she needs? And who--or what--will she become if she does?

I absolutely love the writing of Echo Shea! As I read her stories, I become her characters, feeling what they feel. Seeing what they see. With this particular story, I felt mama’s pain of loss and a loss that could never be. I found myself holding my breath when the child was visited. Don’t do it, please don’t, I whispered to mama! She didn’t and I began breathing again, then, suddenly, I wanted her to. I felt she deserved to. Regardless, the right decision was made and a good warning instilled. The pain of losing her husband wrecked me in tears with mama and then she found happiness and it became a perfect ending. A complete circle. So very beautiful!! You must read and feel what I have!
