Unlike many books for language learners, this one contains interesting texts. However, I find it strange that the words highlighted are explained through more difficult synonyms or complicated structures.
A surprisingly interesting set of short stories for A1 level! Good balance of easy grammar, new words and exercises, captivating plots and even plot twists. Would absolutely recommend to beginner German learners
The first book I’ve ever read in another language. 😊 Having completed my Deutsch studies through level B2, this A1 level book was a fairly easy read. I did attempt to read it during my A1 course, and it was too difficult at that point. Would definitely recommend to learners. You’ll feel proud of yourself at the end. 😊
I'm past A1 and in my humble opinion, this book is not A1, at this point I would expect english translation and a narrower vocabulary, this looks to me more like A2 - B1, I will get back to it later on as my german advances.
2.5 rounded up, because the last story was MUCH better than the 3 before it. This book could be helpful for German learning, but it's more A2 than A1. I found the storytelling to be disappointing and downright ridiculous, at times. But the little exercises and comprehension checks throughout were helpful. Won't be reading any more from this series/publisher unless required to in a class.
