One steamy night in Paris, I had a quick and dirty fling with a Scotsman who wouldn't tell me his name. Ten months later, my boss sends me to Scotland to broker a business deal with tech mogul Evan MacTaggart. There's just one problem. The seductive billionaire is the man from Paris, and I still can't resist him…
The moment Keely O'Shea walked into my office I knew I could never let her go this time. For ten months, I've dreamed about the beautiful, sensual woman who drove me out of my mind. Now, she's sitting here in my office dressed like a sexy librarian and telling me to behave. How can I? The way she looks, the way she moves, and the memory of Paris are all driving me mad again. She thinks she's too old for me. I say eleven years means nothing. I need to possess her, but do I have the right? My past mistakes are knocking on my door…
Evan tempts me to take risks and unleash my inner wild child, but I've had too many heartaches in the past. The secretive Highlander who's too young for me might be the only man who can get under my skin and convince me to take a chance on love again.
Insatiable in a Kilt is the sixth book in the bestselling, award-winning Hot Scots series of contemporary romances.
Anna Durand is a bestselling, multi-award-winning author of contemporary and paranormal romance. Her books have earned bestseller status on every major retailer and wonderful reviews from readers around the world. But that’s the boring spiel. Here are some really cool things you want to know about Anna!
Born on Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Anna grew up moving here, there, and everywhere thanks to her dad’s job as an instructor pilot. She’s lived in Texas (twice), Mississippi, California (twice), Michigan (twice), and Alaska—and now Ohio.
As for her writing, Anna has always invented stories in her head, but she didn’t write them down until her teen years. Those first awful books went into the trash can a few years later, though she learned a lot from those stories. Eventually, she would pen her first romance novel, the paranormal romance Willpower, and she’s never looked back since.

Anna Durand is a new author to me although I have listened to Shane East before, Mary Ann Weathers is also new to me.
Keely O'Shea stepped out of her comfort zone with a hot and steamy hook up in Paris with a Scotsman who left her abruptly.
Imagine her shock when Initially she comes face to face with him 10 months later. Initially I thought that Evan MacTaggart was a jerk but he redeemed himself.
There were times that I was frustrated with Keely, I understand that she has been burned by past relationships but she did act immaturely considering she is 41 at times. Evan being such a tech wizard I also found it a bit of a stretch that he was being blackmailed.
However the story was interesting and I found myself invested as Ms. Durand wove her tale. The narration was spot on and enhanced my listening enjoyment, in truth I could listen to Shane East all day, every day.
I loved how all in Evan was in his pursuit of Keely and his determination to win her heart. The secondary characters were intriguing and I will seek out other books in this series.
I love this series and this story Insatiable in a Kilt is no exception I haven’t missed a book in this series and Anna Durand is an amazing story teller, I love these Scottish men their brogue sends shivers down my spine they are just so yummy and I can just imagine Evan in that kilt ( swoon ). There’s steamy scenes that are so 🔥 I needed a cool drink, Keely had a problem with her age she thought that she was too old for Evan but I say if you have a chance for a happily ever after with a sexy Scot then go for it. Sorry guys no spoilers from me so read the blurb and that will give you the gist to this story, if your a fan of sexy Scottish men in kilts then this book is for you, it’s a fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Keely 40 years old twice divorced is in the city of love for a business trip , while sipping tea she find tall sexy golden Scots man. While they decide to keep names secret he breeches his promise and newly dose something she never had before and he abandons her in a taxi. A year later she is in Scotland for her job again to get a contract signed and runs into her Paris man. Good book newly Keely to stop letting her past control her and she never to old for the one true love even if it eleven years her junior. Good book recommended
This is a very entertaining novel. I liked the characters and Evan’s determination to change Keely’s mind. Keely is a complex character who has had little experience in lasting relationships, both her own and her parents ended in divorce. Evan has issues of his own. He grew up not knowing who is father was, and was ridiculed for this. I enjoyed reading about how he overcomes her objections and insecurities. The only part I had a problem with was the subplot of the blackmail demands. I found it hard to believe that someone with his skills could be victimized in this manner, but it did add to the excitement at the climax of the story. I didn't think this book was as good as the others in the Hot Scots romance series, because I didn't really like the couple very much. I couldn't stand Evan, and Keely was just a pushover.
No spoilers, but Evan does something to Keely at the beginning that is just awful. Most women would have been humiliated and want nothing to do with a guy who treated them like that. But she lusts after him when she sees him again, and buys his half-hearted excuse completely? Evan doesn't really ever apologize sincerely, and I never got the impression that he even understood what he had done was terrible.
Then Evan breaks Keely's heart near the end, and once again, she lets him get away with it. She was a total pushover. I want my romance heroines to have a backbone, and stand up to men who treat them badly. I didn't really want her to take Evan back at all, because he didn't deserve it -- but she should have at least made him do some serious groveling.
Finally, and this is a minor issue -- but it is a pet peeve of mine. The pictures on the book covers should match the description of the characters. Evan was described as blond with blue eyes and glasses -- but the guy on the cover has dark hair, hazel eyes, and is not wearing glasses. This may not be the author's fault, but it bugs me.
This one gets 2 stars from me.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Ah didnae gaet enoof Scottish Brogue! (In the writing)
Loved the story. Great characters (including the Scottish cousins). The h is smart and spunky but gun shy from failed relationships. Add that the H is younger than her and she's hesitant to get involved, but not averse to a little fun while she's in Scotland on business. (Yeah...guess how that worked out for her.). The H, though he has his own issues, is strong, intelligent, determined and persistent. You get the romance along with some intrigue. It's fast a paced story with lots happening and yet sometimes I found myself having to put it down and take a break. But i always had to come back to it.
My only complaint....Ah didnae gaet enoof Scottish brogue. The story is told in dual perspectives, Keelie's (the American h) and Evan's (the Scottish H). While the author did write some of his words with the Scottish accent (there were the ocassional "didnae" or "Ahm no tellin' ye" or "aye") but he Scottish, everything he said or thought should have been written the way he talked so we get the feel! I can't imitate the accent out loud, but in my mind...it's a beautiful thing. I read all of Evan's parts with that brogue..his cousins' parts too. ( Have Scottish friends and I love hearing them talk.). For those who have the audio version, I hope the person reading the Scots parts does the accent and hope it's a male. Might be tempted to buy the audio if so!
Forty years old, recently divorced from her second husband with a long term live-in lover sandwiched in between, Keely O'Shea, sent by her boss to attend a conference, is sitting alone in a Paris cafe, contemplating that she is done with men, when she is approached by a sexy, younger Scotsman. Promising to make love to her all night long, she uncharacteristically walks off with him, but he can't wait, pushes her into an alley, has her there and then puts her in a cab. If this was another genre, she probably would not have made it out of the alley alive, but she is just left stunned. To make matters worse, Evan MacTaggart, the man she was supposed to approach at the conference is a no-show, replaced by another CEO.
Yes, as hinted at in the Epilogue of the last book, this is the story of the elusive MacTaggart cousin, Evan, the one whose company makes all those spy gadgets. Evan has trust issues. His single mother still refuses to tell him who his father is, despite that he is now 29. He grew up mostly alone, tinkering with electronics to avoid being bullied by the mean kids in the village. However, when Keely is sent by her boss to meet CEO Evan MacTaggart, owner of Evanescent Security Technologies Limited, he is delighted, as she has been on his mind for the last 10 months. The more time he spends with her, the more he doesn't want to let her go. Can he convince her, that she is the only woman that he has ever wanted, and the other men in her life had all been "eejits"? Will they learn to trust the other enough to reveal the secrets of their past. Who is blackmailing Evan and threatening his mother? What is the mystery about Evan's father? Why doesn't Evan go to his cousins for help, just as they had in the recent past, when they needed him? All these questions will be answered in this delightful read. Characters are lively and engaging, dialogue humorous, intriguing plot and another transatlantic romance. I love this series.
I received a free ARC from the author. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.
Keely is sitting at a cafe in the middle of Paris watching lovers go by and share a kiss. Here she was because her boss sent her to a conference that her boss could not attend. Her boss told her she had to meet with Evan MacTaggart. My boss really wanted Evan’s spy gadget for his stores. She would have to wait two days until she attended the conference before meeting him. Her friend told her that she should meet a hot guy and have a fling. The handsome man sat at another table when he asked if he could join her at her table. Keely starts making out with the stranger at which he told her he wanted to make love to her all night in his Scottish accent. They didn’t make it back to his hotel and then put her in a cab to leave. Months later Evan is in his office awaiting a meeting with a potential client while waiting in his office he remembered the women he met in Paris. When they saw each other they were completely they were completely stunned. Keely needed a contract signed from Evan so they could start working together. Evan just wanted to kiss her since she walked in. Keely stayed for week to tour around and then she was leaving. Evan goes to the states to seduce Keely so they could have a relationship. Keely and Evan get together but then all hell breaks loose. Twists, turns, deceit, lies, blackmail and attempted kidnapping make this a fabulous book to read.
I've read several books of different types by this author. I've read one of the earlier books in the series. I don't remember that one being so steamy. So be warned, this book has a lot of steamy scenes, especially at the beginning; some had elements of an “ick” factor for me. They do taper off somewhat as the book goes on as more gets revealed about the background of the characters so that the couple is no longer the sole focus of the story. The couple definitely had some insta-lust going that was only partially stated in Paris. When they meet again ten months later, chemistry and passion still exist between them, though she is very hesitant to get involved with him on any level again besides business because of several factors. She didn’t like the way he handled their Paris moment. She is considerably older than him, which I actually think is a fun concept that isn't played around with nearly as much as it could be by authors, and has had a string of relationships that she would like to forget. It is almost as if she doesn't trust herself to choose wisely again. While I generally do like steamy romances, as well as sweet ones, I felt this was a little over-the-top in that area at times.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
“I can live with that. But if you agree to go sightseeing with me, I’ll let you have your underwear.”
What would you do when one of your one night stands becomes the one that got away?
Keely and Evan are different. Keely has become distrustful of men because of strings of bad relationships. Their passion is definitely there, even after six months. From Paris to the office boardroom, their meetings heat up and Evan is not willing to take a chance and lose her again. Keely and Evan have an over the top chemistry and results in some intense sex scenes. There is a bit of tying up that some readers may not like but it’s well written.
The romantic plot is easy reading but there is another minor plot that comes up which has bits of mystery and suspense. What kept me going was Keely and Evan. Keely is an independent no nonsense “it’s my way or no way” kind of gal. She’s certainly not submissive. Evan is a businessman, a Tech Geek, a Scotsman and a billionaire. He’s strong and very persistent. There is a conflict about an age difference between both of them and Keely is unwilling to take a chance due to that. Fortunately, Evan is determined to work through her resistance.
I loved reading Keely and Evan’s conversations more than anything in this. Insatiable in a Kilt is an all-rounder – a very well written and wonderfully descriptive romance.
Evan and Keely certainly start off on the wrong foot, with him treating her worse than a five-dollar hooker, but their second meeting gives them a chance to reboot and Evan's going to take full advantage of the opportunity to make up for Paris. His almost relentless pursuit of her gives Keely a solid look at his life in Scotland, then his trip to Utah reverses their roles and lets him understand her life better.
The book starts off as just a romance, then suddenly turns dark and suspenseful. Throughout the story we have secrets and confessions, and an action-packed climax that requires all the help of his cousins to end an ongoing threat. The dialogue is sharp and witty, the love scenes are sheet-clenching hot, and the HEA fulfills every hope for their future. Like the others in this series, it's a standalone romance that incorporates all the couples from the previous books. I did enjoy the peek into the next book in the series, having met both principle characters in this one.
The story is five-star worthy, but the four-star rating is due to several inconsistencies and contradictions that should have been caught by a proficient editor. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
My, my, my this book went from hot to hotter as the story developed. Keely and Evan never believed in fate until they crossed paths again after having a spontaneous fling in an alley in Paris 10 months prior. Keely is a workaholic, older woman who was sent to Scotland by her boss. The person she sees is the man who walked away from her after their hook-up in the alley. Evan is a 30 year-old billionaire who is smart, sexy, and wears a kilt. After seeing Keely again, Evan will stop at nothing to get Keely to be in a relationship with him. Evan's persistance and Keely's dissolving self-control leads to a lot of steamy rolls in the ha. Slowly, they both allow tthemselves to believe fate is real. However, both Evan and Keely have secerts about thier pasts but together they find a way to break down each other's walls. I loved Evan and Keely's story and was quite pleased with how the story progressed. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I am shocked, I didn't find her series sooner. I look forward reading this series from the begining. I received a pre-release copy from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Good hot romance The story is well written, and it's a good romance with some hot scenes between two people who have trouble accepting reciprocal attraction because of their past. I really liked the character of Evan who seems to be very arrogant at first, but without realizing it, quite romantic too. From the first chapter, we are immersed in what would be the relationship between the two heroes, Keely, a forty- years old Amrican woman, divorced, who works in a small company in Utah, and Evan Mac Taggart, 29, the CEO of the company that she must seek to obtain a contract for some of its espionage products. Except that during their meeting, 10 months before the whole story, they do not know who is the other and separate as quickly as they met. Keely does not want a relationship anymore, but she can not resist Evan's spell. The problem of age is present, but it's rather the threats surrounding Evan that challenge their torrid relationship. I am looking forward to the rest of this series to know the story of Evan's cousin, Logan, a former British secret service agent. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This book is smartly written, with a balance between domineering personalities without any BDSM (LOL). The characters have an 11-year difference with an older woman and a younger man who made up the difference in a difficult life and is as mature as she is; leading to a give-and-take in their relationship. They don't hide the age difference but it doesn't become the primary focus; it is a normal relationship. Very hot sex scenes spice up the plot as we see what secrets both have hidden. With a bit of espionage and an inept villain, the plot rolls along well and held my interest.
The only negative is Evan's voice by Mary Ann Weathers; it was higher pitched and a bit brittle, nowhere near as sexy as Shane East's voice. Why oh why would you not let Evan's voice always be spoken by Shane?! I believe that Weathers' accent is more authentic (Shane's is more British), but he still would be a better choice. There were times that Keely's voice in the throes of passion sounds suspiciously like her voice at work, but that was a small aggravation; her voice is strong and well inflected otherwise, like her character.
Being left by three men who all blamed her and her bossy ways for the breakups, Keely is done with dating. When she meets a hot man in Paris she is up for a one night fling. Except the guy ghosts on her immediately after sex.
Evan is expecting an American woman to meet him to go over a contract but he’s floored when the woman is the one he met in Paris. The woman he’s been thinking about for months.
Fate pushes these two together no matter the age difference or Keely’s “no dating” ultimatum.
Although it was a good story it seemed like a long long story, it did drag in parts. I swear some of Keely’s “no dating” dialogue was repeated chapter after chapter. She was so unyielding the first half and then ultra forgiving the last half. She seemed to have no middle ground.
It seemed at times that Keely and Evan would react out of character. I liked the plot even if the characters were uneven. The bad guy’s identity was too easy to guess!
I have not read the previous books in the series but I felt this story stood by itself very well.
This is the sixth book in the Hot Scots series. Evan is a cousin the the original MacTaggart family. It could be read as a stand-alone book but couples from previous books appear in this book also.
Evan is a tech mogul who travels the world teaching others about technology and running his own company. Keely is a 41 year old business professional who travels to broker deals for her boss. They met in Paris and hooked up for a one night, no names affair. Evan stands Keely up that night and she tries to brush it off and move on.
Evan didn't want to leave Keely but he is being blackmailed. He can't figure a way out and, because of an illegal activity, he can't tell anyone. They meet again in Scotland 10 months later when Keely is sent by her boss to do a deal with Evan's business. Surprise for both of them when their business meeting is he Paris lover. Evan is determined to keep Keely. Keely has a problem with being eleven years older than Evan and that he can't explain why he left in Paris. Can they work out their differences?
This book starts about Keely O'Shea a twice divorced business woman who's in Paris for a conference on cutting edge technologies. Her main goal is to introduce herself to Evan MacTaggart, but as she's at a cafe looking around at the couples, she gets a call from her friend who tells her to look for a hot Parisian man. When a good looking man sits in the next table and he asks to join her, the night progresses. Ten months later, Keely's boss sends her to Scotland to negotiate a contract, she finds it's her Paris romance, Evan. Evan who couldn't forget about his time in Paris decides to pursue her, but Keely is reluctant because of the age difference and her failed marriages, then Evan is being threaten for writing a back door to his security hardware that puts Keely in danger. Can they find their happiness? This was a very enjoyable story and the interaction between Evan and Keely kept me entertained to the final page. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.
Even though I had not read the previous books in the Hot Scots series I felt this read very easily as a read alone. Though there were a number of characters I'm sure that came from earlier stories so I definitely want to read their stories now that I've met them. Keely spent a few nights in Paris for a conference but what really stood out was the one night she spent was the extremely hot Scottish man. Without even a name all she has are her memories, until she walks in to the office of Evan. Evan can't believe his luck that the woman he's been dreaming of for months has walked back in to his life and he'll do whatever he can to keep her there. Except Keely has had a few failed relationships that have left her shy from even trying again, especially with someone so much younger than her. Can Evan convince Keely that their steamy bedroom nights can lead to a strong foundation for forever? Great read with a little bit of mystery thrown in.
Evan was the quiet one, more interest in how things worked than playing sports but that got him to where he was now, a billionaire running his own company, but after an unexpected encounter with a woman in Paris he cant seem to focus. Keely is thrice burned and has sworn off love, men and the whole lot, she doesnt need it and she doesnt want it. Although the sexy stranger peaked her interest and just one night might be all she needs, until she walks into his office and he will do anything to seduce her and show her there is more. The characters are just amazing, the bit of suspense just enough of a bite to add a zing to the story and the intensity of the romance drool worthy. I had my copy preordered as I love every one of the Mactaggart men and their way to love.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an audiobook copy and decided to review it
First thing first, this book is so hot that you may see smoke coming from your fingers as you swipe right or tap or physically turn the pages. So if you dont like heat, this is not for you. I must also add that this could easy be a sweet romance if you skip the heated scenes. The book is very well written and the story would survive without any heat. You fall in love with the characters almost instantly and want them to get together. The chemistry is off the charts and the bits about Scotland makes you want to visit. And there are kilts!
Overall this is great story with charcters that are well developed and with a pace that keeps you interested. There is enough suspense to keep you intrigued and enough real life comedy to make you laugh. I started here so I've got to go read the rest.
Keely considers herself down for the count. She’s been married twice with a live-in boyfriend in between. At 40+, she no longer sees herself as desirable. Add in a business trip to Paris with a down and quick dirty hook-up with a stranger in an alley, and you now have “Insatiable in a Kilt”. After reconnecting, secrets and insecurities begin to rear their ugly head. Theirs is an unexpected relationship, that only continues to twist and grow.
So let’s find out if there is a HEA, or only a confirmation of the 15 years wasted wanting the unattainable This book was a delight to read. Please help me give Anna Durand the new resounding battle cry - More Kilts!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evan was a tech billionaire who occasionally fulfilled the request of nameless men in an effort to keep his mum safe.
Keely was a twice divorced woman who just discovered that ex husband number two announced a baby on the way with the mistress he had married three days after their divorce was final. A promised fling with a sexy Scot leads to an intense alley encounter- and nothing.
Will a later encounter with the sexy woman be the beginning of a great romance or just a rocky interlude?
Scots scamps need to be held accountable or they will continue their lothario ways.
Steamy adventure/ romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evan is the tech-savvy genius of the MacTaggart clan and I have been wanting to hear his story from the first time he was mentioned in some of the previous books revolving around this hot family of Scottish brothers and cousins! His story is a bit different in that Keely is eleven years older than he is but since he is a MacTaggart that minor (to him anyway) detail does not stop him from pursuing her full tilt. A May/December romance with a reverse twist. There is plenty of action involving cool tech and a HEA plus an advance look at the next couple to get their story. This series could go on forever and I would personally love it if it does!! One can't get too much of this HOT Scot family!!!

Strong, fiesty Keely & the reclusive Evan set the Highlands on fire!
I knew Evan's story was going to be delicious!! After a sizzling hot meet cute, or would that be meet HOT, Keely discovers her Paris mystery man is Evan MacTaggart, the Scottish billionaire her boss had sent her to try and meet. Neither one expected their second meeting, for business, would lead to major changes to their lives paths. He teaches her to be a little more impulsive and she teaches him to let others help. We see all our favorite Scots and their American loves. Family, love, a dash of drama, and a tease for our next naughty Scot. Floved it!!

So Insatiable in a Kilt is the first book I have read by Anna Durand and I had decided to pick it up because I liked the book description. Well I can't say that I was impressed very much. I actually skimmed a large amount of this story a I had a hard time getting into the story and feeling and sizzle between the characters of Evan and Keely. Their relationship just seemed off to me. So for me this story is a pass but I am still going to try reading another book or two by this author before I decide if her writing style and story telling are for me.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I love this book! It easily kept me interested and glued to my headphones. They has many ups and downs and I really was unsure what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the camaraderie between Evan and Keely. They had fun times, serious times and sexy times but I could see the friendship becoming more with every minute that rolled by. Evan had Keely figured out..emotionally and I loved how he pursued her and she wasn't afraid to step outside her box.
Overall this is probably my second favorite in the series. These characters are just built and executed wonderfully. I did listen to this on audio. Shane East and Mary Ann Weathers both did phenomenal on the accents and I enjoyed listening to them.
This book was pretty good. The female narrator was ok but not best. She sounded older which was probably the point- the male narrator though was FANTASTIC. (As always Shane east) I was surprised by the first hookup. The book moved along well. The relationship was cute with a little action of blackmail. The only disappointment I had that took it from 5 stars to 4 was how when he messed up and didn’t talk to her for 6-8 weeks. Then he wanted to get back together and she was pregnant and she just said maybe- then less than 5 minutes later I love you and I’ll marry you and I forgive you. If man put me through hell like that it would take a lot of making up… just saying. Otherwise good and funny read. Quite a few spicy scenes- vanilla if you are used to reading dark romance…
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is an older woman, younger man (Scotsman-whoo hooo) romance and I love the characters. Evan is a billionaire and he and Keely have to work together. The chemistry is great, the story includes romance and a little intrigue and it's pretty fast moving so interesting throughout. I'm excited to read the others in the series because some of the characters that were introduced obviously have had books detailing their romance. (A whole series of hot scots- wow.)
I also listened to the audiobook (through Chirp) and Shane East was amazing, as expected. Mary Ann Weathers was new to me and she was great too- so they took a fun story and elevated it.
