Blippi: Things That Go!

Simple text that sounds like Blippi is speaking directly to readers and full-color photos of him reacting with joy to everything he sees convey all the enthusiasm and energy of his highly viewed YouTube videos. Like the lyrics to his theme song “So much to learn about, it’ll make you want to Blippi!”

I really enjoyed the last page where blippi left a road so we can fill it up with stickers of our favorite vehicles. I put and excavator on it. It was very fun!!!

I've never seen the video series on which this book is based. The book introduces six motorized vehicles: a monster truck, motorboat, police car, amphibious airplane, excavator, and a fire engine. Some parts of each vehicle are labeled, and a little fun fact is included for each one. It is a cursory introduction to these vehicles at best, but it could be the starting point for further discussion and research if a child is interested in one or more of the vehicles introduced here. Another nice feature are the 26 stickers provided with the book and a page at the back which is dedicated to those stickers.

Young kids will enjoy this book as they examine different types of vehicles. Nice big pictures with labels of the different parts of the vehicles. Nice way to open up more dialogue about these vehicles.

Some of the epidsodes of the show are like a virtual field trip that are enjoyable. The book looks as if someone poorly photoshopped Blippin into the flat, boring and uniformative text.
