This book series follows a young woman over the span of a apocalypse of zombie like proportions.. it begins with a mass grave in Alaska and ends by the mighty Mississippi. She is a capable, strong and intelligent lady but more than that she is lucky, yes lucky to have the right friends by her side at the right time. Betrayal is the word of the day , but you will have to read to see who or what gets betrayed..There is enough twists and turns to make you nauseated .. but once you have picked up the book you will not want to put them down.just know that no one is safe in this zombie world , no not one.. but if you want to see who is alive at the end of living in a hell on earth then pick up the books and start reading.. YOU .. YES YOU.. START READING IT NOW..I COMMAND YOU TO PICK UP THE BOOK AND READ.....
This series was pretty good. Though I will point out that if I had purchased the books individually, I wouldn't have made it past book 2. There didn't seem to be much action, and it "bored" me. The series picked back up on book 3, and by the second half of book 5, I was ready for it to be over. Jen was an alright main character, but she went from helping her father on a science expedition, to an all out "bad ass zombie killer" pretty quickly so it seemed unrealistic (in the setting). All in all this was a good series to read, and I found myself recommending it to more than one person.
"What the hell?" This is a phrase you will here often, and from many different characters. You will get tired of it, quickly.
It's a plot with plenty of potential if it were to be developed. It's a fun cartoony read, but the characters are two dimensional and their evolution and adaptations too abrupt.
Q very good zombie read. I read the whole series. Different take on how the virus is spread and mutations path. The author writing is good, you get attached to the characters and care what happens to them. I don’t like how the ending was quick and th Evil antagonist was dealt with too swiftly for my liking. I like a detailed comeuppance.
Very interesting concept. I took away 1 star because of the convenient lack of feasibility of some plots/situations, but altogether not too bad. Not a fan of the female protagonist as the story tend to devolve into the typical man giving me butterflies shit but wasn't too bad. Series ended before it reached that point. Gore level: 2/5.
I love a good back story to get me believing why the events unfold the way they do. This series does not disappoint! Great word flow, awesome characters, and no typos. I would definitely recommend this author. Hoping to see more of Jen as well!
This series was unlike anything I've ever read before in the zombie genre. For myself, I felt it was a fresh take on an old horror because of the character Jen. So pleased that I took the time to read this multi-book offering.
The characters were really well developed, it was interesting from start to finish. I love that all the books were put together in one. Loved it loved it loved it. If you like zombie novels you’ll love this.
Interesting idea, but a really slow build-up. Not sure I would have enjoyed as separate books, it didn't seem to be quite enough for that. Lots of fighting but not as much substance; each book seemed to end with a cliff hanger as well, not my favorite way of ending sections.
I couldn't put this book down. It was emotional and heart pounding. I want another book showing how the world ended up and what happens to Jen. I was disappointed it didn't have another book.
I'm only on ch 1 and I already don't like it. Narrator is not good.
Stopped halfway thru Ch 27 of "The Gauntlet." I just couldn't take it anymore. Breaking point: in one glance you can tell there are 18 zombies surrounding a truck? That's oddly specific. I'm done.
