Eight years after her fiancé was murdered, attorney Megan Kole has fully reconciled two areas of her life: her intelligent son, who never knew his father, and the thriving law practice that is her late father's legacy. The remainder of Megan's world stalled in a paralyzing grief that she effectively compartmentalized until a transfer to Seattle brings a handsome, mysterious billionaire into her life.
Daemon Ros has been an outcast since the day he was born. His parents’ lavish but emotionally-vacant lifestyle prompted him to assert his financial independence at a young age. His ailing brother is the only connection he allows to penetrate the vault he has built around his heart, until a devoted mom and her precocious son introduce him to the true meaning of family bonds.
But a chance legal encounter where Megan acts as mediator in a Ros family business dispute leads to far more than either expected. When a shocking truth leads to a love affair between Megan and Daemon that is forbidden in every conceivable way, the barely-restrained chemistry that scorches between them threatens an injunction on everything and everyone they hold dear. As pasts cross, memories threaten, and lies surface in a trial far more deadly than anything inside a courtroom, an arbitration of the heart could prove the only way for them both to make it out alive.

This is an emotionally fulfilling story. Rohman had me in tears more than once, but she also had me laughing and experiencing joys and successes alongside the characters. The plot was full of intrigue that kept me glued to the pages. The mystery and subtle suspense that winds its way throughout definitely had me hooked. Rohman doesn’t write with the typical style that you find in most romances, but this is a fantastic change of pace. I love how elusive things seem, yet the smallest tidbit of information also shines through in her seamless writing. There was definitely has the ‘holy smokes! I didn’t see that coming’ factor right from the get-go, a ‘holy cow! Could you just imagine’, if you will.
Rohman’s seamless writing allowed the story to shine through as she jumps right into the body of the story, with very little introduction. Readers get to know the characters as the story progresses. Her straightforward and inviting writing style that allows the characters’ emotions to shine through. I like that it’s written in the 1st person, and how the main characters think. It really gave me insight into who they are and what they want. She also allows the law/lawyers shine through without becoming overly technical and bogging down the story.
This novel is a fantastic addition to Rohman’s work. It was a blast to read, being both suspenseful and fun. I’d definitely recommend it to others.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend. That was the feeling I got at the end. Loosing a friend, loosing a perfectly described world, that captured me and amazed me again.
I got the chance to read a new beginning, a new story, but the story had some old acquaintances that I was glad to meet again. I had the luck to read again about Zoe, Jonathan, Jada, Morgan and all the family. Rebecca's stories always gave me the real sense of family, and in this one I come to read about it and be astound. She created a perfect family, as real as it gets.
To start with the main characters, you will get the chance to really know Megan and her little boy Zach. The last time I've read about her, she was devastated by Zach dying, but she tried to fight it all because she has a boy. Now you will get the chance to see her as a mother to a seven years old boy. But, at the same time, Megan managed to make for herself a great carrier as a lawyer. She moves from San Francisco to Seattle to open a new firm, to continue her fathers legacy and widen the area. She gets a big first case, a really important one, only to meet the one and only Deamon Ros.
Deamon Ros it's a complicated guy, with a brilliant mind, that won't show much about him. He likes observing the people around him, to get to know their weakest points because he is after all a business man, and a wise one. He didn't had a family that loved him, his parents didn't had any interest in him what so ever. So, he did his best and focused only on becoming a successful man.
The story isn't simple. It will leave you shocked, amazed, breathless. I don't know how to describe it better. I couldn't believe what I was reading. The mystery that involved everybody and the way the story changed by the ending. I was simply in love with every single word, captivated. Loved it with all my heart. Rebecca Rohman, you are one of my favorite authors! I highly recommend this book!
In the end I just want to say, that a good book makes you want to live in the story, but a great book gives you no choice. This is the case with " A problematic love", it absolutely gives no choice!
I just want to say THANK YOU Rebecca ... This story was way more then a amazing read ... I haven't read a book since Nov .... Its hard to explain... But I was losing hope in the indi book world .. With the same books over and over.. I was so sad and this breath of fresh air brought me back to life ..It has everything you want in a book and so much more . If you don't know who RR is you really should check out her work. She is a diamond in the rough. Her writing pulls you into the story from page one. Have tissue on hand with this one. And please limit the Hate mail ....hehe (good hate) I may or may not of sent a few PMs myself .... calling her a evil woman. But when I was done...I wanted to squeeze her while licking her face . :)
A Problematic Love is a 5* +++ read and the best book I have read by Rebecca Rohman and for me that means a lot because her other books are outstanding !
Megan Kole has been through hell and still mourns the lost of her beloved fiancée but always keeps strong for her son Zach who she has built her world around. Megan is a strong independent feisty woman who has had a strong family network supporting her always.
Daemon Ros is a self made billionaire who has never felt loved by his parents and never shown love or opened himself up to anyone expect his brother Donavan. Daemon is a cold man who works hard and never shows weakness and never allows anyone too close.
The unexpected twists that take place when Megan transfers to Seattle left my head spinning, the first twist happens very early in the book and the betrayal, twists and horrors slowly unfold throughout.
A Problematic Love has it all, shocks, unexpected dark twists, hurt, love, steamy hot/kinky scenes ~ I laughed, ugly cried and fanned myself throughout this story.
I read a lot of books and this one is written to the highest standards, it flows brilliantly, kept me hooked and what you think is going to happen doesn't. If you have not read anything by this author I cannot stress enough how much you are missing out on a truly talented author.
A Problematic Love can be read has a standalone but for me I felt more connected to the characters because I have read the other books written by Rebecca Rohman.
This book held me captive from the first page to the last. The attraction between Megan and Daemon is off the scale, both having to climb mountains to reach and achieve their dreams. Great story line that takes you on one hell of a ride, it is full of passion, love, hate, deception and twists and turns that you just don't see coming. I love Rebecca Rohmans writing style, it is smooth, captivating and so very easy to read. Brilliant 5*** read.
Megan Kole is an attorney and single mom to Zachary, after her boyfriend died before Zachary was born. Her life is dedicated to taking care of Zach and being a great attorney with absolutely no social life at all. When she is hired by Theodore Ros to obtain shares in his company that are owned by his son, Daemon Ros, she has no idea what mess she has gotten herself into.
Daemon Ros has distanced himself from his parents after feeling neglected growing up. When Megan faints after meeting him he finds himself researching his own past and finding his own life in danger, as well as all of those around him.
When Daeman and Megan find themselves attracted to each other, they know that this comes at a really high price and not all of their family members are supportive. Will they be able to live life for themselves or will the danger they have gotten involved with take out people very close to them.
This is the first time I have read this author and it will definitely not be my last. This book was so suspenseful and intriguing from start to finish and I never had an idea what was coming next.
It's extremely hard to write the review without giving anything away but wow. I wasn't sure how deep some of the deceit went or who knew what information. It was obviously high but things would happen that kept me guessing on more.
I found the relationship between Megan and Daemon to be believable as both had walls in place to protect themselves and Daemon was so protective of Megan that he wanted to end things with her just to protect her.
This is the first book I've read by Rebecca and it certainly won't be the last book. While it appears to be apart of a series, they are a standalone and can be read out of order, as I did. I will certainly be going back and reading about the secondary characters to get this full story on them. Megan is an attorney who suffered losing her fiance and surviving after this while raising a little boy that Zach never got to meet. Daemon meets Megan in an unconventional way and embarrassing to say the least, their paths will continue to cross as she is the mediator on this legal battle Daemon is involved in with his father. They develop feelings for each other and this forbidden relationship and chemistry is off the charts. The lies, deceit, love and problems they face and hurdle have you cheering them on one moment, tearing up the next, and wanting to scream at them to do the right thing. The title does justice for them as it seemed like just as things were looking positive for them a memory or lie would be thrown at them and they would have to fight that much harder to be with one another. This book is highly recommended and I especially loved that it involved a single parent as I think this story made it so much better showing what it takes to involve children and that a man will love that child like his own if he is the right man for you. Kudos to you for writing characters with children and not them ending up being pregnant after they get together. Love the epilogue!
Megan Kole has had her fair share of grief. First the death of her Father was a huge blow to Megan and her close knit family, a few years later Megan's Fiancé, Zach Jenkins was murdered before learning they were to be parents. Now bringing up their 7 year old son Zach alone, Megan has buried herself in motherhood and her work with little time for herself, she has not dared to even look at another man. Megan's first encounter with Daemon Ros is unusual to say the least. Hired by Daemon's father Theodore Ros to take back the shares in the family business that Daemon currently has a majority stake in. There is no love lost in the Ros family, Daemon is completely unaware of the dark secrets his parents have been hiding but they are about to unravel with dangerous consequences for everyone. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery throughout and you will find yourself in a daydream with the images portrayed by Rebecca's storytelling. A great story from beginning to end, with emotions running high and passion throughout.
I really didn't think there was anyway Ms. Rohman could top Love MD in my eyes, but she most definitely did! I love both Love, Lies, and the DA and Love MD, but this one is my very favorite. If you haven't read Love MD, I strongly suggest you read it prior to reading this one. My heart broke into a million pieces when Zach died right after he got engaged to Megan. I literally felt like I was Megan and going through that with her so to say I have been anxious to get her story. I immediately fell in love with Daemon and I really rooted for Daemon and Megan almost from the get go. The twists and turns, heartbreak, and love in this book for so profound it made my heart stop a few times. I am a huge fan of this author and her writing style and highly recommend this book to everyone! It really was FANTASTIC!!! It is definitely one I will read along with the others many times over. This book really deserves more than 5 AMAZEBALLS stars!!!
This was a very emotional read. I loved the depth of those emotions it evoked and the intricacy of a web of lies spanning over 40 years. While it is a romance, It has so much more included with a love that feels like a betrayal. The instant heat between Daemon and Megan is hard to ignore, but for Zach's sake they try. Then it becomes life threatening. I like the resourcefulness of Megan, who for the most part, is pretty slick and tough, funny thing-she's a lawyer. I've always loved the song Mad World and the reference to it was just gut wrenching concerning Donovan. I'm editing this because I just didn't feel I did justice to how I entrenched myself into this read. This is not one you can read lightly. While it is a stand alone I would recommend the whole series. An absolute recommend from me.
This is a great read. Daemon Ros is a really great guy despite his uncaring parents. He has this huge heart when it comes to his brother Donavan, children and later Zack, Megan Kole's son. Megan Cole is a lawyer, a strong woman and she has an awesome son, Zack. I liked Daemon and Megan's first meeting, quite a shock for Megan. The story has suspense, mystery and love. Love the books written by Rebecca Rohman.
Rebecca Rohman is one of my go-to authors. She’s an author I don’t even have to think ‘will I? / Won’t I?’ when she’s got a new release coming out. The answer is always YES! Maybe with ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’ following that thought! Lol! She always does romance with an edge of suspense so right.
If you’ve been following along with Rebecca’s books than you know we’ve met Megan Kole before. She’s Jonathan’s (Love, Lies & the D.A.) sister and has a familial-like bond with Zoë (Love M.D) but now it’s time for her own story (Don’t worry if you haven’t read all these books, A Problematic Love can be read as a standalone). Megan is a no-nonsense lawyer who is strong and determined when she sets her mind to something. She has a son and has been taking care of him on her own (with the help of family) since he was born. She strives to always put him first, maybe even to the determent of herself a little.
Enter, Daemon Ros, our leading man in this story. He’s a bit mysterious and keeps things close to the vest. He is thrust into Megan Kole’s life when she starts representing his father and uses her determination to get a meeting with him but neither Megan or Daemon was ready for what that meeting would actual reveal. Daemon’s life has been full of loss and the yearning for something he always felt missing and the understanding of the what and whys. Little did he know that meeting Megan Kole would gain him some perspective as well as open up a field of new questions. Daemon is challenging, strong-willed, protective, and loyal. He’s a man who found everything he never knew he wanted in one girl and her little boy.
Let’s talk a little bit about little Zach, Megan’s son. Normally I shy away from romance novels with kids in them. I’m not someone who enjoys reading about them in my storylines (most of the time – there are exceptions). A Problematic Love and little Zach being one of those exceptions. He was one mature little dude and often added a sense of simplistic maturity or logic to situations. He was more like a little man instead of a child who was fiercely protective over his mom. He ended up being a great addition to the supporting cast and I felt my non-kid-friendly-heart melt a few times at his words.
Drama … Intrigue … Suspense … Crafty and well thought out plot lines. You can be damn sure these words can be used to describe the plot of A Problematic Love. The drama is heartfelt and also heartbreaking. The intrigue will keep you guessing and pointing fingers in every direction. The suspense will keep you turning pages until your fingers hurt and your brain is fuzzy from sleepless nights. A Problematic Love is clearly crafty and well thought out with it’s deep emotion and tangled plot twists. Rebecca Rohman clearly puts thought, sweat, and tears into each and every word she pens to page and it’s a clear reflection of her dedication to her craft.
The ending to A Problematic Love is strong. It’s soul-shattering in a romance kind of way. It’s good and I didn’t see it coming. It exposes an ugly side to the human race while we can still revel in the simple beauty that is love. While Love, Lies, and the D.A. is probably still my favorite Rebecca Rohman novel, I dare say that the ending to A Problematic Love may be this authors finest and powerful ending yet.
Megan and Daemon have an interesting first meeting. This initial introduction starts a chain reaction that changes both of their lives forever. The story certainly proves that secrets don't stay buried. The two protagonists are actually very similar in their personalities. Each of them have been living for someone else. They have forgotten to live their lives for themselves. So it is high time that they do something that is just for them. However their love is forbidden. Guilt and outside pressure force them to keep their distance. But it isn't just Megan's family that have issues with her relationship. Dark and sinister forces are lurking about and trying to tear Daemon and Megan apart.
Throughout the story, Daemon suffers a great deal of loss. I swear, the poor guy can't catch a break! But as the story progresses, his luck finally turns for the better. It is most definitely a journey of self-discovery not just for Daemon but for Megan too. After the loss of her fiance, she needs to find herself once more. To not only be Megan the lawyer or Megan the mother but Megan the woman.
There are a few times where I was like this:
It just goes to prove how invested you become in the story. How much you feel for the characters and their situation. But fret not. There are plenty of giggles and hot-under-the-collar moments too. Daemon is a little bit kinky ;)
*"Kneel on the bed at the foot, facing the headboard, with your thighs apart, and hold on to the posts. I have a present for you."
"What are you going to give me?"
"You said you're open to experimenting, right?"*
Ooo, I wonder what he has planned ;)
Zach, Megan's son is utterly adorable. And I love seeing characters from the other books by Rebecca Rohman. You don't necessarily have to read the others but I highly recommend that you do. The experience will be all the more richer and each one of those books is a delight for the senses.
Ms Rohman's writing is sophisticated, elegant, witty and a little bit cheeky. Each and every time, her stories take you on a ride of emotions. The writing grips your imagination and touches your soul. Each twist and turn causes your heart to skip a beat and the intimate moments leave you breathless. So much love and care has gone into the story that it flows so effortlessly. You are swept away by the words and cocooned within the story. Ms. Rohman takes hard hitting issues and weaves a tale around it in such a beautiful and sensitive way. She brings to light the darker aspects of life while also showing the good things that also exist in this world. Like family, love and acceptance. This is another fantastic story. Just remember the tissues! Ms Rohman's novels get better and better each time. I can hardly wait for her next work.
I am going to begin this by making a confession and hanging my head in shame... I own ALL of Rebecca Rohman's novels in eBook, both individually and the box sets, but A Problematic Love is the first one that I have actually read. I know, it's SHOCKING! I have heard nothing but great things about Ms Rohman's stories, and I've read the "tissue" warning many times in reviews by others ;-) But, I'd just never gotten around to reading any of them.
Lately I've found myself getting bored with the "romance" genre. Well I wouldn't exactly say bored. It just seems that in almost every book I read the characters are all in the same age group. Most of them are under 30. And while there is nothing wrong with this, I have found that I want to read something with slightly older characters. After all, I am now closer in age to 40 than what I am to 30! And that's why A Problematic Love was so refreshing for me. The main characters are a little older - Daemon Ros just turned 40!
And now that I've mentioned Daemon Ros...He was a character that I completely sympathised with.
Not only is Daemon gorgeous, wealthy and used to getting what he wants, he is caring, has a soft spot for children and has a tortured soul. While he loves his brother Donovan and donates to many charities and families in need (many times anonymously), he also feels rejected by his parents and other than the love of his brother, had never known what the love of family feels like.
Megan Kole is strong minded and determined. She is a successful lawyer and after losing her fiance has raised her son Zach on her own. She has coped with her devastating loss by making her life purely about work and her son. Megan has a great family and has known constant love and support, and her family are always there whenever she needs them.
Megan and Daemon's relationship is anything but easy - from the fact that their relationship is seen as forbidden, to the myriad of events that happen throughout their journey to get to where they want to be - they encounter obstacle after obstacle.
A Problematic Love is a story that has it all - action, drama, mystery, adventure, loss, love and some of the best sex scenes that I have EVER read. Ms Rohman's writing is pure genius. I was hooked from the very first page, and I felt like I was in the story with her characters. I felt EVERY emotion that they did, and experienced every disaster and joy right along with them.
I totally loved the fact that A Problematic Love is in no way predictable. Yes, you can see certain events coming, but just when you think you have a situation figured out, something else will happen to throw your train of thought way off. I loved the twists and turns and every emotion that I felt from the first page to the very end!
Thank you Rebecca Rohman for restoring my faith in a genre that I adore and introducing me to your writing. I am definitely reading all your other works now!
I received and ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
It was a book club read that brought Rebecca Rohman's work into my life and I am so thankful because this woman can write! Every title she turns out shows an added layer of depth to her writing and this book was no exception. I'm not even sure where to begin to talk about A Problematic Love. It was so much more than a typical romantic suspense novel. There was a depth to the characters and you really felt with and for them. You will recognize the main character, Megan Kole, if you've been following Rohman's work. However, you don't have to have read those books for this one to make sense- but it does give you some good backstory (and the books are all great).
I really liked Megan and how she had built up her life after the totally senseless tragedy that rocked her world years ago. Her world revolves around her job and her son, Zach. That little boy stole my heart with his sweet innocence and joyful spirit. When an unexpected meeting brings Megan face to face with one Daemon Ros everything she thought she knew is put into question. Little did anyone know what this chance encounter will set into motion. But it did bring other characters that I already know and love into the picture. Everyone from Jada to Morgan are a part of this book. I can't adequately put into words all that makes Daemon such a fascinating character. He's intense, broody, reserved, almost cold but he also feels deeply, loves wholly and gives freely. His heart (and mine) was gutted after the event that ultimately brings him and Megan closer together.
Megan's tenacity in her pursuit of finding the truth causes quite the stir and puts a lot of people at risk. Daemon finds himself falling in love for the first time and it was magical to see his hardness soften. These two steam up the sheets and the office and the...well you get the point. It was hot yet tender and so much more than just sex for the both of them. It wasn't just Daemon's relationship with Megan though, it was also the bond he formed with little Zach that changed him. Those two fill a void for the other that they didn't even know was missing. But when the threats keep piling up Daemon does the only thing he knows will keep them safe. I got why he did what he did- but it doesn't mean I liked it or what it meant for everyone.
Of course, in true Rebecca Rohman tradition, all is revealed and no one is left unscathed. What a tangled web of lies and deceit is uncovered. My jaw was on the floor more times that I could count and my mind was spinning with one theory or another and none of them were right. I can honestly say that I didn't see the mastermind behind all the mayhem coming at all. A Problematic Love left wanting so much more. Maybe not of all the mystery and drama but more of Megan and Daemon and little Zach. And that ending was the perfect finale for this cast that I've come to know and love- absolute perfection!
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
O.M.G. Wow I just finish reading this book and what can I say I did not wanted to finish it at all. I felt in love with the book from the first page to the very last one. This book is full of surprises, it has some twist, suspense, and mysterious, this book will have you guessing, and when you think you figure it out you will get hit with a curve ball. I felt in love with the characters, this book made cried like a baby in some part. And made me mad in other but I love every single minute of it. I am going to see how I will write this review since I don't want to give anything away. It will be kind of hard cause their is just so much going on, this book had me seating at the edge of my seat.
This is the story of Megan and Daemon. Megan is a lawyer and a single mom for the last eight years her happiness has being her job and her son, after her fiancé die all her energy been for work, but all that changes the moment that her brother send her to the law firm in Seattle, once she moves their she gets hire by a new client, where theirs is a problem with her new client and her client son who is in Switzerland. After insisting and telling him off her new client son agree to have a meeting, but what she would never expected was for that meeting to change her life.
That's when she met Daemon. Megan did not know what to do or what to expect when she walk into his office, but she knew that she needed to get away. Daemon was in shock when he met Megan and more in shock when he saw Megan son little Zack. That's when he knew that his life was about to turn up side down.
After that meeting they started to spend more time together and the more time they where with each other thing started to get weird. and their secrets started to come to light.
I wish I could give more but I cant not do that, but I could tell you that this book gets interesting with each turn of the page I love it.
I love how Megan and Daemon are with each other, I love how Daemon is with little Zack, and how protective he is of the ones he care for, love his attitude that say don't give a damn what you think of me. Love Megan attitude love it how she don't take crap from no one, and how stubborn she is and love it how she fights for what she wants and how she will do everything and anything to protect her family and the ones that she loves. and what can I say their Sex Scene are Hot.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author Rebecca Rohman THANK YOU once again for giving me the chance to read and review another Awesome book of yours. and for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book love it.
I have wanted to read Rebecca Rohman as soon as I saw Love, Lies & The D.A. - I fell in love with the gorgeous cover and added it to my TBR, so when the chance came along to read and review A Problematic Love, I completely jumped on it! I was so excited to read it because I loved the beautiful cover, but the synopsis and the fact that Ms. Rohman wrote it, was what really did it for me. I was sure that this would be an amazing book and it was - I absolutely loved it and now I can't wait to read more from her!
Megan is the best kind of woman - she's classy but passionate, fierce and protective, and she's strong but she also knows how to vulnerable and let Daemon in. Megan is sophisticated, elegant, smart, and stubborn. I loved Megan and being inside her head, she's a wonderful heroine, and she'll make you proud.
It didn't take me long before I was a total goner for Daemon. He is every bit Megan's equal in terms of goodness - he's unbelievably kind, generous, and humble. Daemon is the type of person who will do anything for the people he loves, he's completely selfless and always thinking of what he can do to take care of his loved ones or what would make them happy. Granted, he does have his male moments and times where he's not the warmest guy in the world, but after everything he's been through, I couldn't blame him and that didn't make me love him any less - it just made me love him more. Daemon utterly stole my heart and he is one hero I will never forget!
One thought that I had while reading A Problematic Love was how real and believable it was to me. I actually felt like I was there with Megan and Daemon in a way that I haven't experienced with other books. I felt like it was real life and not just a story in a book and I really enjoyed making that connection to Meghan and Daemon!
A Problematic Love is full of mystery, suspense, danger, and intrigue. It's heartbreaking but also heartwarming, it made me cry and made my nose sting, and it made me laugh and smile and melt. It's a beautiful, incredible read and I can't tell you how much I loved it!
A Problematic Love is a standalone, it's told from Daemon and Megan's POV, and they get their well-deserved happily-ever-after!
After reading a couple of pretty awesome books by an author, you think, she can't get any better. She only can do worse than this, not better. But then comes along Rebecca Rohman, with A Problematic Love, which is absolute perfection. Rebecca Rohman has mastered the art of writing a romantic suspense. She knows exactly how to balance the romance and the suspense part in the genre.
Those who have read Loves, Lies and the D.a and Love M.D. would recognize Megan as Johnathan's sister and Zach's fiancee. It's been eight years since Zach died. All Megan is focusing on now is her job and her darling son Zach. There is no place for romance in her life. But a chance meeting with Daemon Ros leads her into a confrontation with herself.
Daemon Ros has always felt like an outsider. Even though his parents shower him with money, he has always been kept apart from their love. His only true family is his brother Donovan. But when Megan and her son Zach enter his life, he learns the real meaning of the word family.
A Problematic Love is very well written. The story flows beautifully and quite unpredictably. You never know what the author is going to throw at you next. There are a lot of secrets uncovered in this book from the moment Megan sees Daemon. That was a real kicker though. I never in a 100 years would have expected it.
This book also takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. When you have two damaged, or rather people who have suffered immeasurable pain thrown in together, the angst level is bound to be high.
Rebecca Rohman has a unique way of writing. Her books are quite simple, yet so complex, filled with intricate details. Her characters are equally complex and multi-layered. With each chapter you find out something new about the characters.
A Problematic Love is a well explored book, in the sense of its characters and their emotions. You could feel each emotion and connect so well with the characters. This ability of the author to make the characters so relateable is the mark of a good author.
I am not really sure how to express how much I loved this new book A Problematic Love. I hope you all give this book a chance and show the author much love as her way with words moved me.
Megan is an attorney who suffered losing her fiance and surviving after this while raising a little boy that Zach never got to meet. This is the first book I've read by Rebecca and it certainly won't be the last book. While it appears to be apart of a series, they are a standalone and can be read out of order, as I did. I will certainly be going back and reading about the secondary characters to get this full story on them. gave 5 stars!
oooh..eeem..geeeee!! Rebecca Rohman done it again!
It is by far my most..oooops my second most favourite among all her books that I've read. Well you know Jonathan is still my first love from "Love Lies and the D.A.".
Rebecca's A Problematic Love opens up a can of worms on their first meeting. It's a story of love, loss, and a never ending twist and turn.
Daemon Ros's story is a mask ready to unveil when he met the stubborn persistent Attorney Megan Kole. It was the most threxiting story I have ever read this year. Takes you to the whirlwind of romance, lies, suspense, abandonment, acceptance and letting go. Rebecca's way of storytelling is kinda like hypnotic. You'll get hooked. And you'll get back to your own self when she's ready to snap her fingers.
Daemon's darkest past is the one to be unveil. Megan doesn't know what was hidden in those cold blue eyes but when she did, her feelings for him went wild like a live wire ready to explode. Megan is the one who just doesn't stay still and wait for something to happen specially when her family is at stake and the love of her life. Just when i thought she had it all figured out and had me sobbing, it strikes again. When this ever gonna stop! While this book hasn't stop me from falling off my seat, the thrill of the drama makes me wanting more. On the other hand the breathless love making makes me take off my clothes.
I did not just love the story. At some point it takes me back to my personal experience too.
So I read this book fairly early in 2016. I read quite a few books before it & I've read quite a few since finishing it and this is my BEST read so far in 2016!!!!! Now I have to confess that even though I have Rebecca's other books this is the first one I've read, GASP!!! I know, I have to remedy that & I will. This book is like no other I have read in a long time. I seem to gravitate toward the more erotic themed books as of late because I do love them. Now, while A Problematic love has some steamy scenes in it, it is about so much more. It runs the gamut of emotions from that of the heartbreak of suddenly losing the one you love, to bringing new life into the world, starting over, sibling love, finding someone new & the excitement & the guilt from it, finding out that your life is one big lie!! There is mystery, murder, secrets & cover ups. But most importantly there is growth, love & self forgiveness. This book will pull emotions from you that you will not even realize you can conjure up. IT IS THAT GOOD!! I won't give you an overview of the book as you can read that in the blurb & I don't want to spill the beans about anything in it. I want you to get this book & experience the wonder that is A Problematic Love :) **Thank you Ms. Rohman for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own true feelings & thoughts on this book**
Rebecca always leaves me with the “feels” every time I read her books. Rebecca has always had a knack for making a story come alive so much so that the reader feels as though they are experiencing what’s happening firsthand. A Problematic Love is most certainly no different. You will laugh, cry, scream in anger, possibly throw or want to throw your book, and so much more throughout this book and it will all be worth it in the end. Trust me you will not be able to put this book down!!!! I image finally letting go of someone you once loved and cared so deeply for is probably one of the hardest things a person would ever have to do. So, I’m certain that if left in Megan’s situation I would react the same as she has about her fiance’s, Zach, death. However, there comes a point when you have to move on and do what is best for yourself and/or child(ren). After a conversation between Daemon and Megan she begins to let go a little at a time starting with her son, Zach. The events that follow will forever change their lives. I won’t give anymore of the story away because there is so much more to this story than what you'd think and it involves more than just Megan, Daemon and Zach. All I can tell you now is if you want to find out what happens you will have to purchase the book and start reading immediately.
Megan Kole lost her fiance before he found out she was pregnant. Her son is now 7 years old and Megan's whole life. She hasn't dated or been interested in a man since her fiance died. When she sees Daemon Ros for the first time, she faints. Megan is an attorney whose client is Theodore Ros, Daemon's father. Theodore wants to get back the shares in the family business that Daemon has because they give Daemon the majority of the shares. Theodore feels it's his business and he should hold the majority shares.
Daemon never felt loved or wanted as a child except by his brother, Donovan. Since he'd never felt love he didn't know how to give it leaving him a very cold man. After Megan fainted Daemon started searching his background he found horrible secrets his parents had been keeping for 40 years. Megan, on the other hand, grew up in a very close, loving family. The complete opposite of Daemon's.
This was an amazing story. It was thrilling and suspenseful with lots of twists and turns leaving me surprised at some of the things that happened and had me in tears too. I liked the romance between Daemon and Megan. The steamy sex scenes were a bit too detailed for the story, in my opinion, but well written.
I'm lucky to have won a copy of this book and highly recommend it. All of Rebecca Rohman's books are 'must reads'.
This booked had me hooked from the first page and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy when it ended. This was one super emotional read with amazing twists and turns. The major twist I did not see coming and it took the story from WOW to holy freakin amazeballs. A Problematic Love had its ups, downs and turnarounds but it all flowed perfectly begging you to turn the page (or swipe the screen if reading the eBook) There is once scene on a beach that for me, made the story. That one scene encompassed everything and left me with a big goofy smile. When the book starts Megan is still devo over the death of Zach (like we all are SNIFF) and is now all settled into her new life. Her and lil Zach are happy and then they meet Daemon *SWOON** Move over Johnathan, there's a new Rebecca Rohman hottie in the house. Mr Ros is ohh so fine and he is the perfect match for our feisty Megan. Their journey is not smooth but it only adds to the depth of the love and feelings towards each other. It was nice to be reunited with the characters from Love Lies and the D.A. and Love M.D. and how this story is linked to the two, very well played Rebecca. I highly recommend this book which is now my fav Rebecca Rohman read.
What can I say? I certainly don't want to spoil anything ... I want you to enjoy every surprise, twist and turn all on your own! In my mind I sound like this ... "this books is about Megan, 8 yrs after the love of her life died, after she gave birth to his son. she's starting over again, she's leaving San Francisco, starting over ... She meets Daemon ... and He ....and she ... and then ... and they ... OMG I can't believe this .... "
Haha I don't want to spoil the book but I can say it's a page turner! It's a FIVE HUMONGOUS GOLD STAR page turner! ***** I love where Rebecca went with this story ... while it's a stand alone book I feel I really have to suggest reading Love, Lies & the DA and LOVE, MD first ... it will really enhance the reading experience! Rebecca never disappoints .. this book, like the others was face paced, exciting, surprising, thrilling, and sexy! Fall in love with the characters (I did), go on emotional highs and lows (Yup, I cried) ... what a rush! A Problematic Love is due for release February 23, 2016 if you haven't read the other books by Rebecca ... you have time ;)
PS ~My mother also read this book and she said is was WONDERFUL! My mama wouldn't lie! ;)
What a fabulous, suspense filled romance. Rebecca Rohman delivers the full package in a story. Megan has been thrown several curve balls in her life. Losing the love of her life then finding out she was pregnant sent her down the road of single parenthood. She strives to be the best parent while putting her own on hold. When Jonathan needs her to take over the Seattle office, she sees this as a new start for her and Zach. As she gets settled in, one of her first projects puts her in the path of Daemon Ros, a man that looks just like her fiancé Zach. Daemon is surprised by Megan at their first meeting, he’s never reacted to a woman this way. His childhood has caused him to be cautious and guard his heart. As the feisty Megan keeps the reserved Daemon on his toes, a friendship blossoms along with a mystery about Daemon’s childhood. This story is the perfect blend of romance, suspense and drama. We get the full Kole family experience which keeps us up to date on the entire family’s happenings. At the same time, it’s a story about two individuals that need to allow themselves to find and give love. I must admit that I was sad when the story ended. I truly enjoyed every moment of this journey. I was gifted a copy of this book.
A Problematic Love is a standalone and has all the great elements of love, sadness, hope, mystery and coming to terms with the past and present.
This book had me page turning to see what was coming next and I enjoyed every page. Megan, who lost her husband before she knew she was pregnant, has still yet to come to terms with his death. Her son, Zach is now 7 years old and she protects him to the hilt. Her brother sends her to Seattle to open a new firm and the very first client is Theodore Ros, who wants her to get back his son's shares of the business.
Deamon is holding his brother's shares and will give them back if his father will meet with him. However as Deamon and Megan meet for the very first time a chain of events happen that will change all of their lives.
The story takes the reader on a twist and turn ride between danger and blossoming love. It kept me guessing and I was surprised once all was revealed.
A must read story and I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good mystery with a love story.
I was hooked from page one! I love Rebecca's writing style, especially how she makes you think you know where she's going with the story but then she throws a curveball and goes in a total different direction!
We first meet Megan in Love, Lies, and the DA, and then we get to know her a little more in Love, MD and this time we get her full story. Megan has suffered heartbreak in LLTDA and again in LMD. She pushes forward though and carries on her dad's legacy with her brother Jonathan's help. She decides to make a huge move when she agrees to run the law firm in Seattle. Megan and her son, Little Zach move from California to Washington to start a new chapter in their life, this is where she meets Daemon. After more twists and turns, more heartbreak and a whole lot of action things finally seem to go right for Megan!
I loved every page and was a little sad when I was done reading.
Rebecca Rohman has done it again and produced another story of the highest quality.
This was a breath-taking, edge of your seat read with lots of emotional moments. I was blown away by the plot and the strength of the characters, although Daemon was slightly annoying at times. Everything that happens is so unexpected that you are left reeling by events.
This is certainly a problematic love story for Daemon and Megan as surprising discoveries are made that lead to the uncovering of something much more sinister and dangerous. It is also about Daemon finding out that the world is not full of callous and uncaring people as Megan and her son Zach and their family prove time and time again.
An awesome read that you won't want to put down until the very end as you find yourself immersed in the ups and downs of these events.
I received this book from the author for my honest review.
I always look forward to reading Rebecca's next book! Her books never fail. A Problematic Love is my favorite by far. This book is so well written.
5 stars certainly are not enough. I was immediately taken in from page 1. Megan and her son Jack make an uncertain move to Seattle leaving family behind in San Francisco to open the extended office of the family law practice. Rebecca sure takes you through their move with interesting, fun and emotional turns throughout the story. I hated to put this book down to do mommy stuff and towards the end I was not ready for the book to end!
Himp on board and take the journey in A Problematic Love. It will not disappoint!
