Tarrkuan Masters #1

Zylonn's Human Bride

Rate this book
The stern alien expects her absolute obedience.

Nova doesn't want to leave home, but she doesn't have a choice. The dome-cities on Earth need reactor material and the Tarrkuans are willing to provide it — in exchange for a steady supply of fertile human females, that is. Chosen by her own people, Nova must leave Earth and become the bride of a huge, fierce-looking alien named Zylonn.

Not long after her arrival on Tarrkua, Zylonn catches her speaking out against the trade agreement, and the no-nonsense alien scolds her and promises her a strapping. His stern words both surprise her and leave her quivering with anticipation. Will the handsome blue alien really punish her on their wedding night? And does he really expect her to call him Master?

Zylonn has been waiting for his human bride his entire life. One glance at Nova and he knows the reluctant female is meant to be his. She's the loveliest creature he's ever seen, and he can't stop stroking her beautiful golden hair or staring into her expressive blue eyes. He's shocked by her rebellious behavior, but he's determined to tame her, claim her, and make her his in every possible way.

A passion that knows no bounds soon flourishes between Zylonn and his precious little human. Once is never enough. He's driven to claim her again and again, and her sweet surrender calms the darkest parts of him. But when an old enemy threatens their union, he's forced to reveal a secret side of himself no one has ever seen. Can Zylonn protect the little human who holds his heart?

Aweful

This was almost a DNF, but I want to keep that record at zero. I can say the world building and character development, building, and growth do not happen. Also, had it been advertised as BDSM I would have skipped it. The Hero is unlikable with no redeeming qualities and heroine is treated and acts like a child. The hero is her mate/husband, but just as she is his mate she must call him Master. Now, on video calls he just mate and his real name. I pushed my way through this book and I am putting this author on my Do Not Read list with this book and note with it as a reminder. After that I am promptly deleting this book off my kindle and out of my account. If you like butt play, being beat with a leather strap and other demeaning things, well this book is for you. If not, stay away.

Alien sex has never been less appealing...

I certainly didn't expect this "romance" to involve subjugation of women and master/slave garbage. When I realized the entire book would continue in that vein, I should've bailed, but I was hoping she'd somehow educate him and redeem it all. Nope. 😞

Needs trigger warnings <ñ

I had to DNF this book at about 40%. I did not realize that it was going to contain any BDSM type of scenarios .
Nova a young girl is taken from her home planet as part of a bride exchange program. Her new husband which she must call master . Over hears her saying something negative about the program and decides to discipline her. First with his hands and then with the leather strap. I still continue to reading but after the second disciplinary action in 2 days I was done. This this came across more as abuse and not consensual play between adults. Not for me.

2.5 stars rounded up.

Dialogue was super stilted and awkward. Hated that they almost exclusively said “bottom hole” and “bottom plug” instead of ass/anal/butt. Heroine was super tame and submissive, except for like two scenes shoved in there to get some spanking going. Consent was a nightmare. But it was pretty hot to read.

Contains: human woman + alien man, gender imbalance, humans for breeding, arranged marriage, strangers getting married, new planet, man owns wife, master/“not technically a slave but your wife who you own, calls you master, does everything around the house, gets corporallu punished, and isn’t allowed to refuse sex”, smell your arousal, size difference, basically just a big blue dude, serious consent issues, knife violence, telekinesis, punishment spanking (gets her horny but no exclusively horny spanking), wake up to oral, butt plug, anal training, anal as punishment (she neglects to wear her plug one day so he forces her to have anal for the first time as punishment, for his pleasure only — this is the last sex scene of the book)

5/5🔥

This was a quick but not a fun read.

The first few pages are not a reflection of the book, I might add.

This book had an interesting basic plot, that’s about it.
Everything is told and additionally to that it is rushed and shortened.
I didn’t connect with any character, it didn’t work for me by hearing their heartfelt stories of their pasts either.

The female character is so docile there are not even any real conflicts that result in any friction, besides the made up ones ending in a spanking.
There is no character growth or development. It is what we get told.
This book has nothing that works for it.
The plot is simple and in the light of missing strong characters, it has no point at all.
The world building is sparse and doesn’t shine it its creativity or uniqueness either.
There is no humour to find.

This was just a meaningless read with a few ok sex scenes.

Ummmm, I'm just gonna be brave and say it......I'll take one big blue alien to go please!!!! He can be my Dominant any time, especially the way he loves her.
I know it's not for everyone but if I can't get lost in a story and go to new places or worlds......what's the point of reading? I get enough real life every day, give me a Sue Lyndon book to escape in and I'm happy.

Calling this "BDSM" is an insult to the community. This is just abuse and slavery, wrapped as a romance.

Okay... I have read several Sue Mercury books, which were enjoyable, and saw Sue Lyndon mentioned. I guessed it was an 'Alpha' kind of alien (a lot of them are), I didn't expect (a particularly nasty) BDSM . If I had, I would have turned away with a big nope.
I can never understand how a woman can write a 'romance (!!!)' book containing DV & SA- especially not forced AS. AS isn't my cuppa tea, anyway - BUT Forced = rape. The world she painted made me shudder.
Stopped reading it before finishing it. Deleted it from my ebook and won't be buying any more of the author's books.

Authors REALLY NEED to make it clear when a book has emotional triggers in them.

Human trafficking made legal.

Literal human trafficking. The women have their DNA altered and their body hair removed. They get in a spaceship that might as well be a Time Machine because they end up as chattel like in the 1700’s on earth. I should have folded this tent when I read the words “anal training.” It was downhill from there resulting in punishment sex and anal rape. The plot has holes and flaws throughout. No redeeming value at all. I can’t believe this writer is a woman.

Alien and human romance, spicy and sexy…..
Nova had known since a young girl that she was one of the promised women that would at the age of twenty travel to their planet of Tarrkuan where she would be married to her mate who until she reached the planet would be unknown to her.
When she had left earth she had then been surprised to discover that although her mate Zylonn was a very dominant male he was also very kind and loving always ensuring that she was happy, healthy and settling into her new home, in fact it was fair to say that she was falling in love with her large blue alien.
Then when there was an attack on Nova when she was in the home it had made her realise how much she was looking forward to the family and life she would have with Zylonn and then he had saved her by using a very special power that had been passed down through the male side of the family.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

a new author for me the book was somewhat enjoyable well written with good descriptions of ppl, places and surroundings. I didn't realize this book was about a master submissive relationship which is not my cup of tea being a strong dominant female myself however the relationship was developed nicely with true caring and concern on both parts and an enjoyable conclusion. I did however expect Nova to have a little more guts seeing as how she spoke out against her fate when first arriving on the new world but she quickly became a meek little mouse who only cared about pleasing her man which made me want to smack her. I think there could have been a bit more conflict between them to make the story a bit more interesting. other than one moment of upset towards the end which could have been expanded much better and in depth the story was rather bland. the lead female character was just way to timid and submissive for my taste.

im a fan of the whole big strong man looks after his woman and treats her like the queen she is... but this ain't that. in their culture the wives (mates) are legally owned by their men. Zylonn explains to our Human bride ( who was basically sold by her planet to ensure the aliens trade materials for their cities success inreturn giving fetile women to save the alien race) that an alien should honour and care for his woman, although a leather stap is a popular "correction" tool as women are basically wombs and thats it. Our heroine sounds like a child and while, again, i usually like the whole "call me master" trope, this felt wayyyy to unbalanced for it to be enjoyable. Sure our heroine did get looked after and cherished after some corrections which she realised she enjoyed, but it was too fanficitony for me personally and i didn't connect to it.

Sue Lyndon brings us another amazing story of Zylonn and Nova! They do not meet on the best of terms. With Her life chosen for her as a Tarrkuan bride, Nova is slightly resentful. After working in dangerous and harsh condition for over 2000 days Zylonn is ready for his human bride. Can they find common ground?

I love that I can sit down and read this in a few hours! My heart melted when I read how thoughtful Zylonn was being! You could tell that he would do whatever he could to make Nova happy! When he punishes her at the end of the book....woooooo. I have never read that punishment before! Made me all tingly! Wanna know what it is? Then you will just have to go check out the book for yourself! :) Amazing job Sue!

Mostly a relationship bonding type of book.

If you like sexy, naughty books with spanking used as discipline then you will love this short story.
Nova is one of the women who were chosen as a child to be sent to another planet after her twentieth birthday. Earth entered a trade agreement with the Tarrkuans so that they could receive what they needed in order to maintain the dome cities on earth in exchange for a certain number of brides each year.
Zylonn just can back from his allotted time spent mining and is ready for his bride.
I enjoyed how neither one of them wanted to actually fall for the other but time and care helped them see the other person's worth as a true companion and love.
This book is mostly about their relationship. Not much action.

I would have liked to have given this five stars; I cannot in the idea of our home planet being reduced to surviving in domes, and making an arrangement to exchange females for energy. That, would be extremely sad.

Anyways, I received this book for free from Bookbub.

It was a decent enough read, descriptions was enough to keep the reader engaged.
Zylonn got that communication link up and going in no time. It seemed a little mild on the conflict.
Reading the descriptions of Tarrkuan Masters 2 & 3, it's not difficult to picture what happened there.

In the idea of working hard, and appreciating what you have... it all makes sense.
And of course, (although I have no idea why) blue people are really, really hott.

Following an agreement between Earth and the Tarrkuans to provide fertile females Nova is chosen from an early age to be one of the females. Absolute obedience of females is expected and it does not bode well when, having reached maturity and been shipped to Tarrkua, Zylonn, Nova's intended, overhears Nova speaking out about this trade agreement. However, Zylonn finds an instant attraction to "this little human". Her rebellious nature shocks him and the couple have many obstacles to overcome so can their true love really flourish?

I found this book to be an interesting read but I would have liked to read more about the society in which Zylonn lived. This, in some ways, seemed a bit lacking in the book. Otherwise I would have given it 4 stars.

Nova has been promised to Zylonn, a Tarrkuan. On her birthday she is transported from Earth to meet her intended. Will she ever see or speak to her family and friends again.
Will Zylonn be a stern strict master and will she feel love.
Zylonn has worked everyday in the mines to be able to claim a human bride. Will she be obedient, will he be able to tame her.
The more time they spend with each other the more they open up and enjoy being together. Zylonn will not hesitate to punish Nova if she is naughty but she is safe and protected in his arms especially when an enemy threatens Nova.
I love Sue Lyndon books, they are always hot, steamy, romantic with a sprinkling of spanking!!

2 species, 1 mutually beneficial agreement...

Nova, and a ship full of human girls/brides like her are the fulfillment of Earth's half of the agreement. Zylonn has worked over 2,000 days on a dangerous mining operation, contributing his manual labor to his world's half, and earning himself one of those brides.

This story takes the time to consider how different families will react to bring told X number of years from now you will send your daughter off to another world as a bride, and until then she's going through a different/special education program about that world and living there.

An enjoyable, done in one, Kindle Unlimited quick read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to get into the world of Tarrkua. Nova was raised with the knowledge that she would be a human bride for a Tarrkuan. She promised herself before going to Tarrkua that she would not have any feelings for her alien husband. She initially thought Zylonn was a hard master (as she was taught to call her husband) but it wasn't long before she knew she loved him. Zylonn knew from the beginning he would cherish and protect Nova for his lifetime. There's enough ups and downs they have to get through before that love blossoms for them both. Great read!

Dom/sub relationships are fun, for sure, but this one took things a bit too far for me. The fact that she legally couldn’t tell her mate “no” in any capacity, couldn’t leave the house without permission, and really couldn’t have a single original thought… just killed the vibe. Obedience is something a dom earns in my mind, so seeing it just forced so aggressively… felt more non-con than I’d like. Not to mention the fl didn’t have much of a personality, really just a place holder for a female shaped hole.

At the end there is a reveal that the ml has a special power… and I was so odd. Felt very forced and unnatural, like pretty much everything in this book.

From an early age Nova knew that she was going to be given to the Tarrkuans in exchange for materials that earth needed, so now Nova is going to be a bride of a huge blue alien named Zylonn and it petrifies her. Zylonn has been waiting for a long time for his human bride and when she arrives Nova speaks out against women being forced into this arrangement which earns her a spanking from Zylonn. But you can never have a happily ever after without some kind of drama and trouble definitely comes their way. Fantastic short story and I highly recommend this book.

An epic read. Nova does not want to leave her home to become a bride to an alien, but she does not have a choice. When Zylonn hears her speaking bad about the agreement she been put into he informs her of the consequences of such behavior. She is astonished, but when Zylonn show her the consequences, she is surprised by her reactions and feelings. This may not be as bad as she thinks. With enemies lurking to tear them apart, will Nova be receptive to his past?

A plot outline

The alien is a ******! bigger, stronger in a male dominated society ....women are an agreed traded commodity...

This is a short easy read. Potentially it has a good plot, and the author writes well, but this feels like the plot outline.
Some of the plot lines need to be developed rather than mentioned in passing. An editor or beta readers might help the author in any revision.

I did not like this book, but if expanded I would certainly read the revision

First book in an alien romance. For Earth to survive they needed technology from the aliens. But it comes at a steep price. Aliens work hard and some die to keep the humans safe. But the humans must offer up females each year as payment. The story follows one young woman and her journey to becoming an alien bride, an obedient alien bride. The males in this story are the alpha type but they will do anything to protect and cherish their brides. But punishments will happen if the females don’t behave.

This is the first book of the series. The Tarrkuans and Earth have an agreement. The Tarrkuans provide the fuel that Earth needs to keep the domes of each city working and in exchange, the Earth chooses one young girl from each dome city to be trained and altered to become the bride of a Tarrkuan. Nova is one of those girls chosen. She has had her body altered and has been taught the languages she needs. It is a hard transition for her, but eventually she comes to love her Tarrkuan master. There is a HEA.

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Ok read

It is prob one of my least fav books by this author. Worth the read but not one of her best by far. Storyline is decent and the sex is hot but you really dont feel any real love and i eould have liked to see more between the 2 not just domination. Domination is fine and can be sexy as hell but i dont think she got that in this one. Look for more by this author. I jave read many and she is a good one to follow. Just wasnt thrilled by this one.

Very Good

I really enjoyed this book! I wondered throughout how I would deal with it were I to be ordered to marry someone that I had not only never met, but who was an alien living on another planet. Then I wondered how I would act if my daughter was ordered to do it!!!! I most undoubtedly would rather be the bride than the bride's mother!!! If it had to happen though, this is the absolute best way for it to end!
