It started with a desecrated church and ended in a ghostly mansion. Who is the terrible old man? What about his helpers like Ama Bloch and a spider like monster? Who is killing all those people in a quiet US small town? Can Barbara be saved? This is a great horror past from the past. Published in 1980 we read about a devilish old man and some nasty background lore. Highly entertaining you speed through the chapters. A true paperback from hell find. Of course politically incorrect to modern standards but some amazingly cool horror with many uncanny moments and well drawn characters. Really recommended stuff!

This was awful. The dialogue was stilted, the plot not at all original, and the Oak Grove references distracting Although the last bit may have just been me since I used to live near there myself. Another author I will not read again.
