Whenever I feel like having a quick entertaining read which I can finish in a day or two, Scott Stiletto thrillers are my go to reads. The author spends little time in throwing the protagonists into trouble. There were a bunch of interesting characters, the stakes high for everyone. So you'll be rooting for all. The action is non stop, full of blood and violence. The story is fairly simple. A coup is busted by the Russian government and everyone connected with it is abducted by the government, one of which is Scott's friend, Glinkov. Hence The Glinkov Extraction. While many complain about characterisation but that's how action thrillers are. Strictly plot based. Action is aplenty. There are also hints about Russian government's probable connection with the mafia (I'm not sure how accurate it is) and how the mafia is a proxy of the Russian president in the US.

Improved . Book three is developed in a more thoughtful way

There appears to be growth in this book. The characters have better structure. The tale is one of bloody action, with the same justification. Good against evil, yet fails to note the damage even the soldier of rightness endured as he kills.

What is it with all the characters having hard chairs and sore butts?
Seems each story line has someone who is uncomfortable chairs and butt hurting....I realize the actual reality as I too have been in several different countries, and in damned uncomfortable chairs.

Pure escapism with gusto... The Scott Stiletto saga continues. Book 3 - the Glinkov Extraction delivers on lots of action delivered at a machine-gun pace. Scott travels to Russia to rescue a compatriot and right some wrongs while skirting the rules of diplomatic engagement and against the orders of his superiors. Enjoyable read!
