Happy Mother’s Day! My kids went swimming with their grandparents, and I read this book in one sitting (which is exactly what the authors says not to do 🤭)… but hey, the rain cleared up, the sun was warm on my patio, and the kids cleared out so the moment was just right 😉 📕☀️
The premise and advice in this book are simple and direct, which is exactly what folks need when thinking about starting a business when they have been trained as researchers and evaluators. I train them, have for seven years now, so I know the uncertainty folks face in this territory. Patricia lays out a roadmap and framework that helps people get started. She also points out some of the tricky steps along the way. I saw her speak last fall and found her to be very engaging and thoughtful. Will definitely recommend this book to my doctoral students. Five stars!
Now, while I read it in a day, I can see how much there is to unpack in the ‘doing’ stage. This would be a interesting book to annotate into a 6-week or 6-month action plan for getting started.
