I’m about half way through, but I’m already feeling each chapter reveals an astonishing number of frontal GOP assaults intended to disadvantage the Democratic Party. American Democracy is a fragile form of governing, with norms in place, which can be circumvented at great cost to the stability of the country. Conversely, the Senate’s Filibuster rule, has been used to suppress minorities of the right to vote an other liberties.
A party that abandons the idea of having cogent ideas/policies in how to improve the lives of the majority of Americans is dangerous. Being adverse to having earnest debate in the Senate will be a significant negative note in the written history of the Republican Party. The thirst for power is poisoning the Republican Party.
This book is a guide to understanding the tactics of a political party that’s slowly dying. Lets hope democracy for every American, regardless of race or gender prevails.
